This is an old school hostel which would be much nicer if they paid a cleaner to come in everyday instead of expecting the day manager to meet and greet and clean at the same time.
The bathrooms only get cleaned when they can fit them in, and even then it's only a rinse.
The bins inside the bathrooms get emptied when you tell the staff they're full.
New (refills) toilet rolls can be requested at reception as needed.
The kitchen gets cleaned by Andre at the start of his shift and sometimes just before he knocks off. If Andre isn't rostered on the kitchen doesn't get cleaned at all.
Kitchen bins cater for recycling and biodegradability.
The kitchen has lots of appliances and is stocked with pots and pans etc. Some dry goods can be purchased from reception.
The common areas are spacious.
The dormitory has lockers.
The hostel is located just a short 7 minute walk from the main road. (Left when exiting the building). You can grab a tricycle or tuk tuk, jeepney or local bus along the main road to take you most places. Php40 to the city bus terminal or the city mall.
Turning right when exiting the building takes you towards the local beaches (not surf) and the famous Dalareich Chocolate House (Free entry, free samples).
The hostel has a clothes line for those items you hand washed.
The shower head's need to be replaced but still trickle out water. Hot water or cool, it's enough.
The bed was great, comfy mattress, a power point and light per bunk.
Air conditioned, breakfast included (rolled oats or toast). They have lots of coffee but limited black tea. The herbal tea available is ginger. Fresh roasted coffee is available for purchase.
Free WiFi. Scooters for hire.
Dormitory noise varies on the guests.
Bond is Php500 for the swipe card.
This hostel gets very busy and needs a proper cleaner.
The floors get swept but not mopped.

We booked here 3 nights, but after 2 nights we left. There were only 2 other people sleeping in the hostel, so we had our own dorm with the two of us. As of the first day when we come back from the supermarket, a cleaner of the hostel came out fast of our dorm. It was a bit weird, cause there was nothing cleaned when we looked inside. We saw that someone went through our stuff, but nothing was missing. So we just put the most of our valuable stuff in our locker and locked it. The next day when we went for a scooter trip, we found out that one of our watches was gone. This was weird cause it was behind 2 zippers in a toiletbag, because we are not using this watch often. The next day we went to the other host/cleaner and asked for the manager. She couldn't come, but sended the cleaner. Nervously he went to the room with us, made a lot of noise when he lifted the mattress out of our sights and said we have to look by ourself under the mattress. When we lifted the mattress after that, we 'surprisingly' found the watch in a corner.. The even more worse thing was that we came back the next day to talk to the manager, cause we want to aware her. She was furious on us, cause we wrongly blamed one of her two employees.. We should say sorry to him and nothing more.. We left disillusioned and felt unheard. We are now travelling for almost a year and never had this in our trip.. Be aware on your stuff when you book here..

The bedroom was awesome. But overall I’d like the property a lot.
Maybe the cleanliness of the floor and the accumulated hair on the strainer in the shower room. For improvement, if the guests were requested not to bring their shoes/slippers inside, make sure to sweep/mop and clean the floor so that it wont be dusty and dirty.

The Aircon sleeping room.
Sponge to wash dishes in kitchen was very old and dirty brown. Need to put out new sponges it's not that expensive. Common space had no Aircon and no good work desk, if you need to get work done this isn't an ideal place for it.

The room was clean and the staff was nice.
There were ants everywhere in the kitchen.
The dorm room couldn’t be locked from outside.

Clean, well-maintained room, good AC, beds have curtains.
Quiet location
It can take a while for someone to be available at the reception even during daytime. Best to ask for their mobile contact number beforehand and message ahead

Nice and clean dorm room with a huge bathroom. almost feel like a home stay! the staff is really friendly and can help you with scooter rental and ferry tickets.
I was there all alone so not very social for a solo traveler. The hostel was quite far from the rest of the city. A lot of ants in the kitchen and in the breakfast (yes, IN the breakfast). Staff was listening to loud music until very late in the night which could easily be heard in the room - had to ask them to turn it down a bit.

curtains
the host provided shampoo
they had laundry service
it’s a bit far of everything so driving scooter or trycycle is a must
the en-suite bathroom was almost always dirty but handable
the provided kitchen was full of ants, same with the provided breakfast and there was mold on our breads

Awesome! There are no places but a Jolibee to eat by night, but you can go to the big supermarket Plaza Marcela and cook in the kitchen! Very good value for money.

The staff is super nice and helpful, the breakfast is good and you can use the kitchen. It’s very clean as well. Toilet paper is provided but no free towel.
This is not the fault of the hostel but there are (very) loud dogs on the street. Prepare good ear plugs.

Location for me was perfect as i needed to get the ferry from the city in the morning but if you want to stay in the popular tourist spots maybe not ideal. Very chilled hostel with at the time only two guests (including myself staying). Staff were friendly and helped organise a scooter for me to explore the island. Breakfast was pretty simple (maybe could add some eggs to the menu). Wifi worked, Beds has curtains and security was very robust with with key card locks on the main door, dorm room and lockers under the bed.

I arrived pretty late at the accommodation, it seems like all these restaurants in that area were closed.
So one member of the staff gave me a lift by scooter to a very local restaurant.

Very good breakfast. Everyday you can choose between 2 dishes (they change every day)
Lockers in the room, comfortable beds, kitchen.
It's a bit outside of the city. Can be good or bad.
The door of the dorm makes a beep noise everytime when you open it and close it. Can be annoying.

Breakfast is really good and local so you can try food that you may never buy but it's really good. Staff was nice and helpful and the rooms are perfect
