About this house rental
Luxury Vacation Home Rental
Located inside the gates of Yosemite National Park, our 3 bedroom (plus a den with a pull out couch), 3 bath 3200 square foot multi-level luxury home will delight and enchant you. We are just a short drive to both Badger Pass Ski Area and the Yosemite Valley for your ice skating, snow shoeing, and skiing adventures if we have snow in December or for early spring (April). During the summer months, we are located within 20 minutes of the Valley floor and 6 miles from the turn off on the 41 to get to Glacier Point.
The benefits of staying at our home inside Yosemite National Park are many. By actually being inside the National Park gates, you avoid the long lines going in and out of the entrance stations. At peak season, this can be an hour or more wait time just to enter the park. This allows you to experience leisurely mornings enjoying the peace and solitude of our quiet community before taking off to see the many attractions in the park.
After a day of soaking up the wonders of Yosemite, our home is only a short drive out of the crowded valley where you will return and enjoy the evening in the great lounge taking in the sunset through our picture windows while relaxing in our comfortable and cozy furniture. Weather permitting, enjoy the grand deck while observing birds and wildlife such as coyotes, squirrels, black bears and deer. Sit back and relax while watching the sunset turn to a glorious star-filled sky. Find the constellations and count the shooting stars. This is a place away from the crowded Yosemite Valley floor, a place for evening relaxation. Sit back and enjoy the wind whispering through the cedars, pines and dogwoods.
While campers in the valley experience the haze and smog of hundreds of campfires, you will marvel at the clear night skies while listening to the sounds of the forest from the large decks! You will love our starry nights and pine scented mornings at Yosemite Peregrine Lodge. This is a clean, well maintained home that offers the ideal home base for your Yosemite experience. Views, mature pines and peace. Please, no smoking, no pets.
Attractions and distances
The distance from Yosemite West to famous landmarks are: Badger Pass Ski Area 6.5 miles (10,5 km), Tunnel View 8.3 miles (13,4 km), Bridalveil Falls 9.8 miles (15,8 km), Wawona Hotel 12.4 miles (20 km), Ahwahnee Hotel 15.9 miles (25,6 km), Glacier Point 16.2 miles (26 km) and El Portal 21.7 miles (35 km).
Our Home
The Yosemite Peregrine Lodge is a multi-level 3200 square foot home suitable for couples, families and executive retreats. Unusual for most homes in the Yosemite West community, the Peregrine Lodge is situated on a rather level area. This means you do not have to negotiate the steep stairs that earmark many houses.
Entering the home through a door on the same level as the parking, you will find easy access for the unloading of your luggage. There you will find entry to three guest bedrooms.
Sleeping Accommodations
Each bedroom has both interior and exterior entries. They each have their own sink and shower, entry to their own private deck area, and a unique and beautiful floor to ceiling fireplace. As an added benefit of the bedrooms being situated on the first level, you will experience privacy from the activity of the upper floor with the great room, dining room, kitchen and loft.
This separation and intimate setting makes this home uniquely suited for multiple couples, families or groups to have a space of their own. The unique and cozy rooms are thematic in nature.
Living Area
The main floor features a living room with a floor to ceiling rock fireplace with a design of Yosemite Falls. The plush and comfortable furniture in the great room will embrace you after a long day of exploring the park.
Huge soaring windows in the great room opening west affords views of the forest and evening sunsets.
A pool table, puzzles and games, satellite TV, DVD players and WIFI. This is an ideal home for those who are seeking upscale luxurious accommodations for family, friends, coworkers or groups.
We do not provide access to a laundry, however, there is a convenient laundry mat at the condos a short walking distance down the road.
Internet availability
There is WiFi offered at the lodge. We use StarLink which has proven to be such a great advantage being in this remote location. We had such issues in the past with satellite dish and past technologies due to our home being at 6,000 feet elevation and surrounded by tall sugar pines and cedar trees which made it difficult to receive clear signals. We now have unlimited access to the internet. At times, it may be slower than what you might be used to in the big cities or urban areas, but has really been dependable.
You will also be able to find Wi-Fi Internet in the various hotels and lounges in Yosemite Valley, just a short drive from our location.

We are so happy to have selected this home for our stay with our visiting relatives from Germany. We were a party of 7 (including two kids). The place worked perfectly for us all. After a trip from LA to Monterey to SF to Mendocino, this was the last stop and we really felt like it was the grand finale to a wonderful summer vacation for us all. The location was especially nice because of its proximity to the Yosemite attractions but far enough away to feel like a true getaway. We visited during a heat wave and the house location is a higher elevation from Yosemite Valley which also added to the comfort. I can't think of a single thing I would ask her to do differently. Thank you, Vonnie, for your warm welcome and superb communication. We will be back!

We were a family of six; grandpa, grandma, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren ages eight and four. Everyone loved the property. It was clean, well furnished, and very roomy. The cooks thought the kitchen was fabulous. The grandkids loved the pool table. Everyone was thrilled to see a mamma bear and her cub walk by one morning. It was great to be staying in the park. The location was convenient to the Central Valley, Mariposa Grove and Tuolumne Meadows. Everyone's favorite hike was the Two Bridges hike along the Lyell Fork in Tuolumne. We swam in the creek and the kids slid down a small waterfall.

The Peregrine Lodge is the perfect home to stay in within Yosemite National Park! It was our first time to Yosemite so we couldn’t really appreciate the proximity to the Valley and other sites within the park until we were in our car driving to them each morning. We were so thankful to have booked with Vonnie! The home is the most well equipped, clean VRBO that we have stayed at. The sunsets and stargazing at night made for an even more magical vacation in Yosemite! Thank you Vonnie for sharing your home. We hope to visit again in the future!!

We - a family of four with two teenage children - enjoyed our stay tremendously. Vonnie is a great host, always helpful and supportive and with many ideas what to do best in Yosemite. The house is a dream. It offers enough space and all the amenities you can imagine (including pool billiard). We can only recommend this very special place in Yosemite.

The house is located very conveniently. We were able to get to all the famous spots (falls, valley visitor center, sequoia trees, etc) within 30 min. The house is big with beautiful views of mountains. Also, kids loved seeing bears, deers, and chipmunks! The host Vonnie responded to all the messages promptly and was very helpful.

We spent 5 nights here and loved the location. It was wonderful to be in the park and not have to fight the lines getting in every day. Beds were comfy. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning so if some people want it cooler they can make their own adjustment. Great kitchen - well stocked - huge fridge. We loved the pool table and the huge selection of dvds and books. Our only wish would have been for some extra washcloths and towels since the house doesn’t have a washer and dryer but definitely not a deal breaker. I would stay here again if we visit Yosemite in the future.

All of our wants and needs were there for us. Very well equipped kitchen, with any piece of equipment or dish one needed.
One thing would have made things easier…. A hall bathroom. One that was not inside a bedroom.

The house was fantastic…clean, comfortable, well-appointed kitchen, and excellent location. The host, Vonnie, was fabulous—answered any and all questions we had prior to our trip.

The property was well-maintained and very convenient for meal preparation, hanging out, and relaxing after a day in Yosemite National Park. The kitchen was very well-stocked with necessary items like dishwasher pellets, dish soap, sponges, cleaners, foil, and even some food staples, like olive oil and spices. A pleasant surprise to find them there. Overall, it was just what we needed, tucked in the woods with a nice view of the sunset. The few things that were not convenient were the size of two of the showers for two tall men, and the fact that there was no half bathroom upstairs in the living area, since all the en suite bedrooms were downstairs. All in all, it was a really pleasant stay.

The place is prettier than the pictures!
We arrived around sunset and were greeted with wonderful views of the sunset!
Everything about the lodge seemed to be well thought out for comfort.
Got to meet Vonnie in person as well. She is such an amazing person!
You can’t go wrong with the wonderful lodge in beautiful Yosemite!

Vonnie’s property is everything! It’s well stocked with anything you’d need for your stay, is closely situated to the valley, and feels like home. My fiancé and I had a wonderful week with both sets of parents thanks to Vonnie. She is also incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. Worth every penny! Thank you Vonnie!

This place is amazing. The kitchen is beyond well appointed and everything is meticulously thought out to make ones' stay as smooth and fun as possible. The beds are comfortable, the view of the sunset is magnificent and easy access to the valley gets you a jump start on the day. We had a massive anow storm while we were there that left us and our car completely buried. Vonnie's nephew came by and shoveled and cleared snow from the deck and roof, and the neighborhood plow guy kept the roads pretty clear. Vonnie was helpful and communicative throughout. The only thing to keep in mind is that all of the bathrooms are en suite, so if anyone stays in the extra bedroom upstairs, they need to use a bathroom in the bedrooms, which isnt a huge deal. Each bedroom has its own fireplace. The internet worked well and the house has good movies, games and books. Highly recommend.

This was our 4th stay at Peregrine Lodge; the first back in 2008 when it was a B&B, three subsequently as a vacation rental under the new owners. Over the years we have got to know them better and they are unfailingly responsive, cooperative, accommodating and friendly. Communication is excellent; and any issues are promptly addressed. The house is large and comfortable; we typically come with another family (max 6 people, or you can pay a small supplement for a 7th). It is a great place for shared experiences, entertaining, relaxing. Several recent upgrades include flick-of-a-switch fireplaces in all bedrooms; new beds; new window coverings; new flooring. The legacy pink bathtub is something of a feature! We look forward to returning and enjoying Peregrine Lodge with more friends in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at Yosemite West . The lodge is clean. The kitchen is fully loaded with what we need to prepare for family meals. Vonnie, the host is super nice and helpful. The accommodations is exceptional. We had a last minute surprise that we needed to travel with toddlers. Just less than a day of notice, Vonnie arranged for all the supplies and accommodations needed for our toddlers set up prior to our arrival. We really appreciate her kindness and understanding.
We wish that we can come back again .

Could not speak more highly of our stay at Yosemite Pergrine lodge. Tucked inside Yosemite oark, only 30 min drive to Valley, it was perfect. Accomdatio s was ideall for families or friends/couples travelling together. Everything you needed was there, we cooked and grilled every night, all cooking equipment was readily available. As someone mentioned all 3 bedrooms are ensuite, so if you have folks sleeping upstairs, they do need to share a bathroom with one of the ensuite bathrooms. Not at all a big dral for us. But something to be aware of. We were there with 7 peoplr and everyone loved the proprerty and appreciated the amazing communication and snack basket from the hostess. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed a fall vacation at the Peregrine Lodge with our adult children. The house was excellent and had everything for a great stay. The kitchen is well equipped. Also, the location inside the park enabled us to get an early start on our hikes and outings. Vonnie was very responsive and an excellent host. We highly recommend this property.

We had a peaceful and wonderful stay at Peregrine Lodge. The location was great and very close to the park, hotels and grove so it was perfect. The house is decorated beautifully, it is well stocked, has games & movies, outdoor area is wonderful and beds are comfortable. One of the beds was a little firm but we like them on the soft side. I would recommend staying here and when we return to Yosemite, this lodge will be our choice.

Vonnie’s property was everything we could hope for and more. The kitchen has everything you could imagine to make meals. The deck is perfect to spend the afternoons after long hikes. Vonnie was a pleasure to communicate with, always willing to provide information and helps us organize our trip. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing place. A real privilege to stay here. Everything and more in the kitchen and upstairs games room. We ate out on the deck and watched the sun set. Plenty of room for six of us to spread out. Easy access to Yosemite Valley and Winona.

Vonnie was a very responsive and helpful host. The lodge was very comfortable for the three couples in our group and the location was great. The kitchen had all of the tools we needed for cooking during our stay. Highly recommended for a visit to Yosemite.

This spacious and spotless lodge in the woods is the best location in Yosemite. Inside the park but far from the chaos of the valley. Vonnie was responsive and helpful getting us all checked in and checked out. The house has great light and the large porch provides breath-taking sunsets. I wish my kitchen was this well stocked. When I come back to Yosemite I am not even going to look for another accommodation. Enjoy the serenity of Yosemite West.

Our group came to experience Yosemite and had a wonderful time. The property is located perfectly to access the three big attractions (Valley, Glacier Point, and Mariposa Grove) with minimal lost time in the car. The house itself is excellent layout for groups to join in activities but also have privacy when desired. Just about every thing you can think of for cooking and also those items you always forget like sandwich bags, cooking spices etc. oh, and spectacular sunset view the whole neighborhood is jealous of! Highly recommend and the host is extremely responsive and wants you to enjoy the area as much as they do!

My family of 8 rented this amazing house for our Christmas vacation. It was absolutely perfect. We could not have been happier with the location, the amenities, and the attention to detail. Vonnie was a dream to work with. Every question was answered immediately, and she made sure we felt cared for. The bonus personalized gifts she left by the tree were extra special. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans. Game room upstairs was great fun! House was spotless and very comfortable for our large family. Thanks so much for a memorable Christmas!

Peregrine Lodge is outstanding! Anyone coming to the Yosemite area should stay here. It is a great place to stay in every way. I could find no shortcomings at all. I would definitely come back without a second thought.

Everything was perfect! The lodge is gorgeous and everything was nicely appointed, especially the kitchen! Yosemite West is very convenient to Yosemite Valley, only about 20-30 minutes away. It was also close to Oakhurst which was perfect because you could pick up groceries for your stay on the way into the park. Vonnie, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the park!!

Great place
Perfect place for 3 couples!! Vonnie had everything we needed. The best stocked house I've ever been in. Thanks for thinking of all the people that fly in. You had a couple of things we had forgotten and since we were 1 hour away from store we were more than thankful! The spices were an awsome plus.

Beautiful Yosemite Launch Pad
If you want to fully explore Yosemite, being INSIDE the gates is a major benefit, and a stay at Yosemite Peregrine Lodge is a blessing! Inside the gate means no entrance lines with easy and early access to the Valley and all other attractions. This is extremely important due to limited parking throughout the Park. On Day One we tried using the free shuttle system, but the wait time between shuttles was way too long, so we got up early and drove to find parking our remaining days.
Yosemite Peregrine Lodge means a great home with amazing views and the utlimate, fully equiped kitchen - which you will defintely need because there are no food services in the area. We ordered groceries online from Raley's in Oakhurst and picked them up on the way to the Lodge. When we ran short of supplies, we grabbed them at the market in the Valley. The Valley Market truly has everything you might need - even liquor, which we did run out of. Our family enjoyed a home cooked dinner every evening along with a DVD movie and a game of pool. My grandkids loved all of the games and puzzles found in the house, and we ended every day star gazing on the amazing deck. But, the very best part of Peregrine Lodge is the owner, Vonnie. She is an amazing host who will happily and quickly address your every need during your stay. I highly recommend Yosemite Peregrine Lodge, and hope to return when Glacier Point Road reopens.

An awesome stay in Yosemite
The home was spacious and beautiful with a great location. Vonnie was great at communicating with me and had some treats waiting for us when we arrived. Would highly recommend this home for your stay in Yosemite. Not having to deal with long lines at the entrance gate made it jyst perfect.
