Great location with spacious rooms and comfortable amenities, perfect for a large group or family.

We had a wonderful week in Tahoe city, enjoying the town and the local ski resorts.

The location was perfect! Great parking!
The bedrooms and bathrooms were great for a larger group.
The only downfalls were that the hot tub never really got hot and the property managers sort of skimped on things like paper towels and garbage bags. Otherwise, everything was very comfortable and good for a group with kids!

The house was in an ideal location; walking distance from downtown Tahoe City. The layout is a bit quirky -- three bedrooms and one full bathroom upstairs, one bedroom and two full bathrooms downstairs -- but that's not uncommon for older resort properties. While well-kept, it is an older home. The heat wasn't working the first night we arrived, but the property management office got that taken care of promptly the next morning. Would definitely stay here again.

This rental was perfect for my family’s needs. The location was great, close to town and shops yet it feels secluded and private

The location within walking distance of Tahoe City is great, the view is beautiful, and the place is fairly spacious, but other than that we were very disappointed with this rental and would not return. The layout is quite funky with two bathrooms side by side on the bottom floor with only one bedroom downstairs. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and only one jack and jill bathroom that adjoins the master bedroom and another bedroom. The third upstairs bedroom does not have access to the bathroom unless you walk through one of the other rooms, so the people sleeping in that room need to go downstairs in the night to use the bathroom. The place was dingy and not well maintained. The oven, which is incredibly old, was disgustingly dirty when we arrived and caked with grease. (To the credit of the rental company, they were very responsive and sent someone to clean it right away after we complained.) We enjoyed the hot tub but it was dirty when we arrived and plastic pieces of the hot tub jets popped off when we turned the jets on. Also, some of the pillows on the beds did not have pillow cases, and the entry to the place was not shoveled very well and several people in our party came close to falling every time they entered or exited the house because it was so slippery. Overall, the place did not feel cared for and was not worth the money.

We absolutely loved our stay at this house! There were 11 of us and it was the perfect fit. Enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably, hang out in the common spaces, and eat at the dining table. Perfectly close to Tahoe City, Palisades, and everything else the area has to offer. Did want to note that the hot tub, while great, wouldn't reach the temperature we were looking for, and instructions weren't totally clear on how to fix that. However, in the grand scheme of things it was a very minor issue! We'll 1000% be coming back ASAP!

Great location and gorgeous scenery!

There are many things to like a bout this house! The location is phenomenal, the neighborhood is great, the lot is pretty, the lake view is great, the tub is fun, and the house is spacious. The management company was also good at communicating.
That being said, we had many of the same issues that Quirky House review from June 2022 had. We arrived and there was no dishwashing detergent or laundry detergent. The house was generally clean but we found evidence of previous guests. The management company only provides one set of towels per person, but they are just bathroom towels not for the tub or the beach. I called and asked for beach or tub towels and the person on the phone said that they only provided one set per person, but that we were welcome to refresh them in the wash as often as we wish. Even if you do that, if you use the tub and then want to take a shower you will be forced to dry off with a not fresh towel.
The deck is another major issue! There are boards that are no longer screwed in, I'm taking over an inch raised from level and there are many screws and nails popping out. I personally got at least four splinters, with others in my party having a similar faith. My four year old daughter split her big tow on either one of the nails or a bad board. Not an ER type gash, but still a good cut. The grill is very small for a house sleeping 11, but even worse the inside is rusty and only the back burner works properly. The stove had a faulty burner as well. There are many window screens broken that would allow insects/mosquitoes in if there were any, we lucked out with the weather :) There are also missing window screens.
In summary, it seems very little work is being put into the house while still demanding top dollar. You and your family will have a wonderful time and make great memories if you decide to stay here, ours did. We just don't think the cost to amenity/quality of the house is congruent which makes it a 2/5 in my book, and a 1/5 for many others in our party.

Family reunion
Spacious house, with plenty of separate spaces for people to hang out. Great location and neighborhood, walking distance to downtown. Seems secluded even though neighbors are close. Great views of the lake from deck and upstairs bedrooms.
Open plan with kitchen. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and cooking pans and baking needs.
We really enjoyed the house and we'll equiped for our crowd. Would return again next time in Tahoe. Thank you!

Quirky House
I’m used to staying in vacation rentals and this was one of the weirdest. The pros were that the beds were comfortable, climate control worked great, the hot tub was excellent, and the view from the deck was lovely. The cons were important details that seemed to be overlooked or come off as stingy—no extra toilet paper (I was told to bring more when I made the booking but forgot since it was months ago), no laundry soap or dryer sheets, hard-to-find broom and no dustpan, only one towel per person (plus some of the towels were clearly old while others were brand new), and no stockpot for cooking for a group. We loved the giant dining room table that fit our family of 10, but not the stress of trying to figure out how to get everyone’s food out and hot at the same time. The house looked very clean (no dirty socks or bare feet here!) but we found evidence of past guests under our beds, in the closets, and in our shower. Many things were broken or in disrepair (dresser in closet was missing a drawer, a table leg popped off after a gentle toe stub) or showed signs of wear. Also, there was a step down in the master bedroom that we didn’t know about and that was a problem for my handicapped mother, but she was a good sport and was happy with the twin above the step. She also gave the tub an A+. Management was okay but seemed disconnected from the property.
Not a bad place to stay—it felt like a family friend had let us use their lake house for the weekend—but not a place I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

Tahoe City Thanksgiving
While we were disappointed that there was no skiing we found plenty to do in and around Tahoe City. The house was perfectly located and we all got our exercise climbing up the hill from town. Short but vigorous walk. The kitchen was well stocked to enable an at-home Thanksgiving dinner for 7. The property manager was very responsive - hot tub repair person came on the holiday when the unit wasn’t working properly.

Great house
The house was great. We were able to extend our check out time for $100 which was a good deal for us. Only issue is that all the showers were leaking which wet the floors. Not a huge deal but we went through a few towels.. still highly recommend it. Very spacious

Fantastic location!
We loved walking to town and to the beach - so much right at your fingertips with an amazing view. We were most impressed with the cleanliness of the property - with the rustic charm and cabin feel - not a single cobweb! Property management was great at reaching out with all necessary info. Thanks for a great get-away.

Very comfortable and homey for grandparents, parents, and young grandchildren.
Morning coffee and afternoon hot tub on deck overlooking Lake Tahoe and mountains through the pines made this much more than just a nice alternative to hotel. Tahoe Getaways staff were very helpful with transitions in and out.

The listing never stated that it had no air as other listings do. The house was 84 degrees upstairs. The company told us to open all the windows at night and put fans in front of windows. We did and it never cooled down past 78 degrees. Three bedrooms are upstairs where it was constantly hot. We left a night early just so we didnt have to sweat while sleeping. After mountain bikiking, hiking, kayaking each day the last thing we wanted to do was sleep in a hot house. The rental company was no help. Its a shame bc the house is nice other than the constantly hot temperature inside. We reasearched for a long time before picking out a house and I would've never rented a house with no air. It was miserable.

Pioneer Lake View Retreat was wonderful. Tahoe Getaways were easy to work with. We stayed for one week in February and loved the place. All appliances worked. Great hot tub. Plenty of space for big groups. 10-minute walk to Tahoe City and Lake Tahoe. The house sits atop a hill which provides a great view but in the winter, a four-wheel drive is recommended for times when the roads ice. Great place!

Reviewer Comments:
We had 8 adults and small kids. We rented this house because it had a bedroom for each couple and their kids. Each room has 2 beds, except the master bedroom with 1 king and a sofa hideaway bed. There are 2 stair cases to the upstairs, one on each end of the house. The stairs to the master is by the front door, from the master you walk through the shared bathroom to the 2nd bedroom which has stairs by the back door. These 2 bedrooms share the bathroom separating them. The 3rd bedroom is off the 2nd bedroom at the top of the narrow steps and uses one of the 2 bathrooms downstairs. There is one more bedroom downstairs with a fireplace. It's pretty small but has a queen & twin bed, lots of cabinet space and a small closet. 2 bathrooms downstairs are both off the living room, one with a shower and the other with a bathtub/shower. Washer and dryer off kitchen, take your own laundry detergent if you plan to do more then 5 load of laundry in a weeks time. The living area and kitchen were okay for space, but for us we would have liked more space and especially a separate TV room for the kids. There was only 1 TV in the place except for a small TV in the master bedroom. Plenty of seating around the table for everyone to enjoy meals together. All in all we did enjoy our stay and the house is nice and comfy. However, for our large family we will look for a more accommodating place for all of us. It's well worth the price to stay. I suggest you take everything they recommend as you will need these items. Oh and there is not a crock pot in the home either if you like to cook with one. I would most defiantly recommend working with this management company to book a home. They were very accommodating when we called. They took very good care of us. Within walking distance to Tahoe City and grocery store, with hills on way back. Driveway path is steep & if icy you will not get out with a 2 wheel drive and/or chains. overal
