This true beach cottage on the front row on Lake Michigan's Magnificent Mile, beautiful beachfront with only a slope to the shore, no steps to endure. Live on the beach or walk to town for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Bring all the float toys you want or even pull your boat or jet ski right up to our shore for the day, it's your choice. Enjoy an adult beverage on our private beach during the day or a fine bottle of wine at your bonfire after the sun goes down. We've spent many a night watching the sun go down, gazing at the stars. When not on the beach hang on our common area large deck or in our quaint cottage with views of the lake. This is one of the original South Haven cottages that has been meticulously maintained to meet the needs of every beach-goer looking for a unique and special experience. We upgraded the amenities and left the charm. Best for small family or friends getaway. Ideal for 2 adults and up to 4 children.

12th annual sisters trip. The cottage is perfect, from the direct views of the beach and lake, to the fully stocked and cleaned cottage. We love it here! Close to town, located on a beautiful section of beach and the owner is very responsive to our calls.

Location, location, location! Can get any better than right on the beach. Fully equipped with necessities and the sunsets are amazing. So close to walk into town to enjoy the great restaurants and shopping. Great experience!

Cottage #1 is a wonderful, warm and so comfortable. There is everything you need especially when cooking! Location is perfect! After over 25 years, I keep going back and looking for what has been changed, added or improved. It’s my week in heaven❤️❤️❤️

Property was great. Quiet during quiet hours for the kids, and you cannot beat being steps away from the beach. We will definitely be returning. Had a little hiccup with our room not being clean when we arrived but went to dinner, came back and it was ready. Host very accommodating! Loved that the couch had a pull out bed and gave the kids a little more space to spread out! Thank you for a wonderful week, and unforgettable memories that were made.

This is our 3rd year at this wonderful “beach cottage! Just a few steps and your toes are in the sand… a few more steps and your feet are in the water. You couldn’t get much closer or have a better view and stunning sunsets! I can’t say enough about the hosts Anne & Gregg! Hopefully 🤞we will be back next spring! Thank you both❣️

Perfect weekend with my Mom. Steps away from the beach and a short drive to downtown. The sunsets were magical and loved waking up to the sounds of the wave! Even saw a deer crossing through!! Property was clean and nicely decorated. Host was communicative and friendly- hoping to return next year!

Beautiful cottage right on your own beach. Very clean, nicely decorated and good instructions how to use TV and fireplace and communication with owner. Check in was a breeze, they send you a code to unlock door. Located 5min from downtown South Haven by car. The only thing we had an issue was the the screen door clamp on the door. We had a really hard time opening the door to enter and leave. Suggest an eye and hook to make it easier. We panicked at 10pm Saturday night struggling to open the door but finally it worked with maneuvering it. Next morning wouldn't open until we maneurvered it again. But other wise would highly recommend this cottage.

We started our summer with a stay in South Haven. This was our first time and I think we set the bar very high staying at the cottage right on the beach. Amazing views, easy to get around! We loved fires on the beach, eating meals on the deck, and the kids loved being right on the beach. The house was very clean and well equipped.

Wonderful stay! Perfect, dreamy little house.. only thing that should probably be noted in the listing is that there are quite a few stairs to get down to the house/beach. My mom with hip/back problems struggled a bit. Thanks to the host! Everything was great.

Listing describes accurately the cottage. We were 4 adults, but listing accurately said it would be better with young children, as the bunk beds have very little headroom. The cottage was clean, everything was easy to find and easy to use. Owners were easy to reach and responsive. Very friendly too. If I had one suggestion: it would be great to have blinds on the window over the fireplace as the afternoon sun can make the room stuffy quite quickly. However, the view is worth it! I would highly recommend and hope we can come again... with hopefully less rain. We did get to enjoy quiet and beautiful sunsets.

We so enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Great location with the private beach area. and deck was protected from the wind. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the sunsets and other guests from the cottages. Two deer said hello in the early morning on the berm that was special.

Waking up to the sound of the waves to seeing the sun glistening on top of the water in the evening this location is unbelievable. Ten steps from your door is what seems to be a private beach just for you and the other cabins on location. Our children loves the bunk beds and have to say I enjoyed them too. It was the perfect long weekend trip with much to do for my husband and I and our kids!

What a lovely, cozy cottage that is literally steps from the beach and a sunset out your window every night! We stayed at Ann & Gregg’s cottage last summer after falling in love with South Haven and saying to each other, next time we will stay right on the beach so we scoped out some spots and did our research and booked our week. The cottage is cozy and adorable and thoughtfully updated and appointed with just about everything you could want or need. The view out the carefully placed window about the fireplace is like a framed picture any time of day, and you’re literally steps out the door to the deck or to the beach to watch the sunset with the other folks staying in the other cottages in the colony. I will say that the bedrooms are small, but great for a couple with 2 kids. You’ll spend most of your time outside but for rainy days, there is room to relax and play cards or games. The location is perfect to downtown, or the bike paths which we took full advantage of. Met some great folks who were staying at the other cottages and if you have kids they’ll have plenty of playmates. The beach is perfect and there are places to stash your beach toys and chairs. Also some grills and a fire pit to use. Ann & Gregg were attentive hosts that answered all our questions promptly but didn’t intrude on our stay. We can’t get there this year, but we’ll surely get our names on the list again for our next trip to South Haven!

This is the 4th time we were privileged to stay in this cottage…and probably more than our 20th time at Sunset Cottages. The joy of being there hasn’t diminished. This cottage, with its front-row seat on the lake and its charming interior, is pure heaven, regardless of the weather. We will be back next year! Can’t wait.
