About this house rental
+++PLEASE READ! Walker's Lodge rents only by the week in the summer and we are currently on a WAITLIST for Summer 2024. We WILL NOT book more than one year in advance for our prime summer months (June - August). This allows our returning guests the opportunity to keep their standing date from year to year. If our returning guest does not keep their standing date, we will open the week up to another guest. We book Friday - Friday in the summer months. Please DO NOT put in a reservation request without waiting until ONE YEAR FROM THE END DATE OF INQUIRY. Thank you for your understanding and for your interest in our Lodge!!!
Formerly a resort lodge built in 1958, rustic Walker's Lodge is the ideal year-round vacation home for families and groups to make memories. The lodge has been updated and remodeled, while maintaining its fantastic charm and many original details.
The air-conditioned lodge sits on 290 acre Nicaboyne Lake, which is a fun, fully recreational lake between 10am-5pm. The area feels more peaceful than some of the other lakes in the area as the east side of the lake is undeveloped. When you look out to the lake from the lodge and beach it somewhat resembles the boundary waters. The lodge is set back from neighboring cabins, which were originally part of the resort, and is nestled in the woods, offering privacy. Its expansive front lawn is perfect for yard games like softball, kickball, tug of war, etc. The yard also has a shuffleboard and a horseshoe pit. Kids love the large play set, too!
The great room of the lodge has a lovely stone fireplace, large bar (which was originally the check-in desk), and a piano. The dining room offers seating for 30 and is full of large windows and light. As the resort was a fully functional restaurant at one point, it also has a commercial kitchen perfect for making meals together. Right off of the kitchen is the former lodge owner’s private quarters, which has an additional living room, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. It also has a separate entrance with an amazing screened-in porch, paver patio, Weber grill, and fire pit.
Right off of the great room and facing the woods is a second screened-in porch, where many love to read and relax during rain showers. The porch has a daybed with trundle for those who want to sleep closer to nature.
Up the stairs from the great room are 5 lake-facing bedrooms, 4 with queen beds and 1 with a full-sized bed. On the other side of the hall, facing the woods are two bunk rooms (full over full bunks - can sleep 4 children each very comfortably - or 2 adults each). There are also 2 full baths on this side of the hall, marked as ladies and gentlemen. :) The total square footage of the property is close to 5000.
Rentals include the use of a canoe, paddleboat, 2 paddle boards, and a 12-person Weeres pontoon.
*Please note that, due to unfortunate past experiences, we do not rent to bachelor and bachelorette parties.
**We also require a 3-night minimum over holidays.
***Reservation requests are accepted at our discretion.

The lodge was perfect for a large group (we had 21 people). Lots of space to spread out. Great room and the dining room was perfect for a group. Easy access to the lake. Love the area, and neighbors were friendly. We love water sports. Really appreciated pontoon, canoe, pedal boat and paddleboards. There were ample supplies toilet paper, paper towel etc. Highly recommend the place. We will certainly come back next year.

This is the 2nd year we have stayed there. We really enjoyed our time together with family and it gives us enough space to do that. Love the large dining room

The lodge was the perfect place for our family to spend our vacation. Since we had small children, the Great Room offered lots of opportunity for them to play with the toys and games as well as run around. The lake was wonderful for boating and swimming as well as fishing. It fit all of our needs! We were so happy with the accomodations, we book it for next year!

Very cool place to stay with a larger group.

Had a very relaxing weekend at the cabin. The property is the perfect size for a large group (our group was 14 people).
The space is much larger then the pictures convey. The main room (living room) is massive as is the outdoor patio and both areas were perfect for the full group to lounge and play board games or cards.

My friends and I just stayed at this place this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect for my group! The place is huge with lots of space for people to roam. No one had to wait to use a bathroom and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook. The stove was a little tricky for us to figure out since it's old but we felt transported back in time coming to this lodge. The host responded promptly to any and all questions and was very accommodating. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat for a large group of friends, this is a perfect choice!

Great place and lots of room for everyone to be together or be seperate if needed. We had a great time! Even enjoyed some time on the lake and sledding on the island :)
Thank you!

Generally a very good experience. The entryway was not shoveled but the driveway was. Very comfortable place to stay and spend time with family

We have group of friends that get together every year and ride trails in Webb Lake and Danbury. This place was perfect for us, especially with the large great room and plenty of room for us to spread out. Would highly recommend this for group trips!

We have rented this place a couple times and will keep coming back. 20 close friends for a Thanksgiving dinner. The kitchen is perfect-so well stocked. The different spaces to gather in the lodge and outside are fabulous. The host is responsive and friendly. Love this place.

We had a family weekend to celebrate a 60th birthday. We had 21 people, were all able to stay under one roof, had rooms for sleeping and lots of gathering space for family memories to be made. Highly recommend!!!

This was such a wonderful place to stay especially if you have a big group of fun people. Plus Jennifer was great!

The property was beautiful; absolutely loved the fire pit area! The included pontoon was a big bonus! The kitchen was huge and very well stocked with anything you could think of! Loved the large dinning table which made socializing so much easier. A couple of things needed attention paid to it - the clothes dryer is very slow, so if you're a larger group as we were, I'd start washing the towels the afternoon before you leave. The other suggestion would be to have an oven thermometer, it took a long time to get the oven up to temperature, and a longer time to bake anything in the oven. Otherwise, it was wonderful! Would do it all again! The hosts are very nice too! :-)

This property is an amazing space! All our friends and family could stay in one place. Coordinating with the owner was easy and they were very responsive. Hopefully we can make this an annual tradition!!!

Lake Nicoboyne
We LOVED our stay here! We are a large family and this house was perfect. The lake was wonderful—we fished and swam and paddle boarded and canoed and took leisurely trips around the lake in the pontoon. I highly recommend this property and I hope we can come back here in the future! Thank you for a lovely family reunion!

This was our second year here and it is quickly becoming a tradition. Plenty of space for our family of 20 and a good deal! Great details like the play area with toys for the kids to play with and the use of the pontoon, paddleboards and the like! We made great memories sitting around the fire pit. Jen is great at getting back to you right away also - altogether a great experience.

So much room, was perfect for our big family. Everything you would need was there, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap,, firewood. The fire pit area was nice and screened pouch was awesome. The pontoon was provided with gas, we didn’t get to use it as much as we would have liked but hopefully next time. It is a bit far from “town” so we tried to limit our trips. I didn’t hear complaining about the beds, so they were good. Towels need to be washed, dried and put away before you leave, that was the hardest part of check out. The kids loved all the toys provided and the out door play equipment. This place is not modern but worked out great for our family get together. Also the stove is interesting but once you figure it out it is awesome. I hope to return here for another family trip.

The lodge is a great spot for large groups looking for plenty of sleeping options and room to spread out. We had a group of 15 and on a rainy Wisconsin weekend we had plenty of indoor activities to keep us occupied. The large dining room is great, as is the kitchen. The accommodations in general are rustic, but we liked the comfortable vibe. The fire pit was lovely even though the weather only gave us a chance to use it once.

We were looking for a property that would accommodate our whole family for a weekend of ice fishing and fun...this place certainly did that!

Sweet Lodge
Our hockey team stayed at the lodge for a tourney weekend! There were 30 of us and never felt like we were tripping over each other! Fun had by all! I would love to go back and stay in the summer! It is so close to the water! Also screened in porches for even more room when it’s warm out! It is a very comfy home!
Jen was very easy to get ahold of and did everything to accommodate a couple requests we had!

We’ve celebrated Friendsgiving here for a few years now and it’s become one of our favorite places to be. It’s charming but also huge, with large rooms where the whole group can gather at once. I highly recommend staying here and I’m looking forward to coming back next year!

We had a large family gathering here for a weekend in June, and it was a perfect weekend of swimming and fishing. They had lots of sand toys and boating equipment available for use, plus inside toys and great areas for sitting and hanging out inside when it got too hot outside. There were some quirks to the place, but it is a wonderfuly, rustic resort and perfect for our needs.

Great retreat
It was a great time. The owners were really nice to work with too!
