About this house rental
Formerly a highly rated bed and breakfast, the Log Castle is now available for home rentals. Built with logs harvested from family property, the Log Castle is a warm and welcoming haven for your family and friends. Its eclectic design, stunning water views from most rooms, and beachfront location make it an ideal home base for your vacation. Enjoy the beach, with a wide sandbar, 2 small (kid) and 2 adult size kayaks for paddling, a raft for swimming, and miles of low-populated beach. If your timing is good, you can even watch whales surfacing in the bay just off the deck. The kitchen has been renovated, with stainless appliances, granite counter top, and a 180 degree water view. The large fireplace in the living room makes for a comfortable and cozy retreat. Miles of walking trails extend through the woods across the road. The charming village of Langley is a mile and a half away - a five minute drive or a walk along the beach - with shops, galleries, restaurants, and more. One highlight of the Log Castle is that the kitchen and two bedrooms are each in the eight-sided tower - try not to argue over who gets the top tower room with its phenomenal views. Fishing and swimming (especially when the tide has come in over a sunny sandbar) - make for wonderful family memories.
Bedroom 1 (main floor): Two sets of bunk beds (four singles)
Bedroom 2 (2nd floor): Queen bed, plus queen sleep sofa in adjacent sitting room
Bedroom 3 (2nd floor tower): King bed
Bedroom 4 (3rd floor tower): Queen bed plus sleep sofa
All bedrooms have private en suite baths
Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes for 14. The dining table - a great conversation piece made from a base cut of a log harvested in the 1920s - seats eight comfortably and ten if you're good friends.
Wifi and cable are provided; cell phone reception is adequate but not ideal in all areas of the house.
There is an attached owner occupied apartment, so we can answer any questions or address any issues you may have either in person or by text. Also a 10:00 pm quiet time is requested.

We have stayed here several times, and love the uniqueness of the house as well as the views and the beach. We always enjoy a relaxing week at the log castle!

The Log Castle is a special place. It was easily large enough and for 11 family members, 2-74 years of age. The home is uniquely beautiful, an art piece in itself, but comfortable at the same time. The kitchen is fully equipped, along with plenty of bedding. There was much to do at the cabin, swimming, hiking, beach walking, kayaking, and more. The town of Langley is very cute with lots of restaurants. There is
much to explore on the Island. Our highlight was watching a bald eagle that showed up on the beach each morning and watching the seals, especially when they came up on the raft.

We spent time at the log castle with family from out of state and it did not disappoint. I thought it had to be too good to be true that someone could have this many 5 star reviews, but once you meet Lea, you see why. She is sharing a magical piece of her family’s history and we were in awe by the beauty of it all. We loved the eclectic nature of the home and kayaking with the seals was incredible. The home feels like it’s a world away, but you’re really close to restaurants and grocery store if needed! We will cherish our memories at the log castle forever. Thank you!

This was my 2nd time staying here, and it was just as magical as the first! It was a treat to introduce my traveling companions to this slice of heaven. Lea and her husband are lovely people, and always helpful.

We could not have found a better location, better hosts, better home, better overall features at the Castle Cabin. We will definitely be returning for more family memories!

We loved everything about our stay at the Log Castle: the communication with the owners, being greeted at the house when we arrived, the location, the house itself, everything. We went with a group of 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 7-9) and everyone loved it. We saw a grey whale swim past the house one evening and loved the noisy 15+ harbor seals on the nearby dock. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we could ask for.
I'm already discussing another trip back here with my parents and sister's famly, since I know they'll love it too.
Thank you so much for letting us staying at your magical abode.

You will never see a more original log house in your life. Worth staying here just for the house itself! The fact that it's right on the water with an incredible view is almost just a bonus!
Fully equipped huge kitchen. Three super comfortable adult bedrooms with bathrooms and a great bunk room if you have kids.
All the rooms have the most incredible views. Comfortable dining set up for a large group.
We were there in winter weather which was fun but I can see how it would be a fantastic summer destination as well.
Everything was absolutely perfect with our stay. The hosts met us when we checked in which was very handy. They had messaged us about opening the front door. When I saw the email I thought , good grief, I think I know how to open a front door but it was actually a good thing they met us there. There are many unique and interesting aspects to this wonderful home and opening the front door is one of them. Go figure!
Would happily stay there again.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Log Castle. It was great for the kids to play and for the adults to relax. Lea was a warm host and even made us pies from the berries we collected from her berry plants.

Our family came together at the Log Castle to heal from the unexpected loss of our son and to celebrate his life. Lea provided an easel to hold a large tribute board we brought that was dedicated to him. The setting was perfect - serene and peaceful. There was something for everyone to do - walks along the beach (we walked to Langley), the kids took the kayaks out, we walked the forest trails across the highway and we enjoyed the gorgeous views from the deck and inside the house. The kitchen was well-equipped and there was plenty of counter space. There were extra tables and chairs to set up for a larger group. We were all impressed by the craftsmanship of this home done by Lea's dad. Our daughter-in-law said this was her favorite place that we had ever chosen for a family get together. We hope we get the opportunity to stay at the Log Castle again.

We spent Memorial Day weekend here with a few families. It was a perfect spot. Easy beach access and we could always see what the kids were up to from the house. We hiked every day on the trails, walked the beach, and had a wonderful time overall. Hosts were very personable and great to work with. Thanks

There almost aren’t adequate words to describe the experience of staying here. A stunningly beautiful property with many hidden surprises to discover, you (like us) won’t want to leave when the time comes. In addition to the seals, eagles and occasional whale, the property is beautifully landscaped. Property Managers were extremely pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended!

My friends and I stayed here for the weekend and are completely enamored by the property. Lea was so friendly in the best way, I felt like I could have chatted with her all day, but didn’t feel intruded on either. Lea and Dennis were outside doing some updates and we felt welcome to be outside on the beach. We had a group of adults laughing and singing along to our favorite throw back tunes which got a little loud despite my best efforts, so I checked in with Lea and she agreed that we could bring it down a notch and we tucked away into a back room once it got late. The beds were all comfortable, the cabin had so much character and history (which we loved reading about!), there were plenty of towels and linens, the kitchen had all of the utensils/pots/pans etc we needed, and the kayaks were a lovely bonus. P.s. The dock that floats out front holds approximately 18 harbor seals; wake up for the sunrise to see them before they scatter at daylight! We did a very thorough clean of the upstairs levels and washed extra loads of laundry to make things easier on them once we left. I would recommend this place to others! :)

This was my second visit to the Log Castle. There are so many special aspects to it! It makes for a very unique, special gathering place. We enjoyed the large kitchen and dining room, chatting by the fireplace, kayaking with porpoises, comfortable sleeping arrangements, gorgeous sunrises and more. I am grateful we had the opportunity to stay. Everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Our family was lucky enough to spend thanksgiving here, we cooked a feast in the beautiful kitchen and spent the days relaxing in the house. Plenty of room for everyone, the water views are astonishing from every room. Very cozy and clearly a well loved home.

We loved the house!!! Extraordinary craftsmanship, so unique! Lea and Dennis are great hosts, the best was Dennis knocking on our door to point out pod of porpoise swimming by in the sound. Highly recommend.

We had such a great time staying here. Reading about the history of the house and the property just added to its wonder. The water was so clear right out front. Made for some great kayaking and paddleboarding. Kitchen was well stocked and so. Nice that all the bedrooms could have their own bathroom. Great trails across the street. The hosts were very friendly and live in the attached apartment and were available to answer questions if needed. Will hopefully get to stay again soon.

What a unique and beautiful property. I was worried from the photos about the staircase with two toddlers but it was super safe (with supervision of course). The adults loved the views, the privacy of each room that had their own bathrooms, and the toddlers spent a ton of time on the beach. Thanks for the amazing stay!!

The craftsmanship of the Log Castle is superb and the furnishings are unique. We spent our days on the deck and inside watching the changing moods of the water and basking in the peacefulness of our surroundings. The many seal pups on the raft was the icing on the cake! Most of all, was the gracious hospitality of Lea and Dennis. We plan on returning next year.

This was our second summer visit to the Log Castle. Once again, our group of adults and children (ages 1.5 - 6) loved the house, the beach, the woods and the swings on the grassy hill above the Castle.

Our first family reunion. The castle was plenty large for our family and the room layout gave everyone plenty of personal space with private bathrooms. It was so clean and well appointed. The beach was so fun with the floating dock. They even dug for clams. Lea and Phillip were so welcoming. Plenty of dishes and pans and really everything you need to cook up some feasts! And we did! Our family will remember these days in your amazing, historic home. It was built with love and and we all loved being there. Thank You!

My family had a great time on the Fourth of July! We enjoyed the scenery, kids playing on the beach for hours and seeing the fireworks in nearby islands. We saw hummingbirds, deer, and rabbits during our stay too! The Log Castle is such a unique and special place and we would love to come back again!

Beautiful, historic property right on the beach with amazing views across the water to Camano Island. We have 4 "seniors" and 5 "under 16" in our family and all were delighted with the accommodations. The hosts, Lea and Dennis, were welcoming and very helpful. They live in a separate unit attached to the rental property and clearly take pride in this beautifully constructed Log Castle. The kitchen is well-stocked with any kitchen appliance or tool you may need, as well as spices and a few common food items, such as sugar, olive oil, etc. The younger members loved the dock which, at low tide made a great place to swim to and jump from. There were several sport kayaks - best for smaller bodies, such as the kids. We have no complaints - only praise to the owners! We will return to this lovely Log Castle on the Beach! Thank you for making this family vacation so memorable!

we had a fantastic time at the log cabin castle! We were 11 adults and it was plenty of room for all of us. I really appreciated that there were lots of extra towels and sheets available as well as spare chairs. The panoramic views are spectacular in the history and detail of the castle are so much fun
