In the 1800's, over 50 sea captains returned to shore, building mansions for their families. Today, many are beautifully preserved inns for the public. The Stony Brook Grist Mill was once a hub of commerce, with the mill grinding corn and the factory village creating shoes, furniture, and fabric.
.The property is situated off of historic route 6A which is home to many charming antique shops, local stores, fine and casual dining and of course The Brewster General Store where you can get penny candy for 25 cents. It is also a short bike ride from the house to the Cape Cod Rail trail where you can ride your bike to Wellfleet or Dennis. The Brewster Whitecaps (of the premier college Cape Cod Baseball League) home field is also a short drive or walk across route 6A and is always a great way to see up and coming baseball prospects and perhaps get a signed ball by the next Big Papi.
Along with the Brewster Beach Cottage there is the 3 bedroom , 2 full bath Brewster Beach House (VRBO property listing #916878) on the property that can be rented on its own or in conjunction with the cottage for additional guests. The property is small but cute. Brewster is a good location to explore the cape in many directions. The beach is beautiful and good for walking. The water is fairly warm due to large expanses of flats at low tide.

We had a perfect week thanks to the location of the beach and the weather! The cottage was ideal for both of us and exactly as pictured. Very clean, comfortable, and in a great location for walking to the local shops and restaurants.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. I spoke with Gerry a few times via telephone in advance of our stay and he graciously took time to answer my questions. When we arrived, I met Gerry (as he lives next door). I asked him for some restaurant recommendations and he kindly provided some options. The wifi worked well and the instructional binder in the cottage provided answers to any other questions I had. We did not interact with Gerry or Lois during the rest of our weeklong stay as we had no other questions and everything was fairly straightforward. The location is very close to the beach (Cape Cod Bay) and not far from nearby restaurants, bakeries, and the Cape Cod rail trail. I would recommend this spot for a solo traveler or a couple. The cottage is behind a larger three bedroom home that my sister's family occupied during our weeklong stay. The proximity of the two properties is ideal for two families or a group of friends vacationing together.

This little cottage has everything a person needs, but the best feature is the short and lovely walk on a wooded path to their private beach. While it feels removed, the cottage is located several blocks from Brewster's main attractions. This was our second time there and we hope to be back!

The cottage was just as listed-perfect for two people, close to the private beach, and near to restaurants and shops. The cottage was very clean, and we had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely return!

"Sandy Toes" is a nearly perfect place for two. The small cottage is located in Brewster near many places to visit and near many nice restaurants. It's a short drive to Orleans and the big National Seashore beaches. The owner provides a great book of information and recommendations. Above all is the short 3 minute walk to "your own" private beach on the bay side. You can enjoy a great sunset there or take a late night walk to get a full view of as many stars as you would want to see. You are certain to enjoy your stay here.

For one or two people, this is a great getaway location. The Brewster location is great as you can get to most anywhere on the Cape easily. Traveling 6A is far more pleasant than 28. We could walk (or take a short drive) to breakfast and other really good food. The amenities of the little cottage are great: nice little kitchen, air conditioning when needed, WiFi, good TV (we used our Netflix account). The living area was plenty big for us. The bedroom was a bit small without a lot of storage (and there's no door to it), but it was hardly an issue.
We walked to the quiet private beach every day and/or evening (pretty sunsets). If you know the bay side and the Brewster Tidal Flats, you'll know what type of beach you're getting. We really found the beach very relaxing and enjoyed wading & swimming in the hours around high tide. Low tide means a lovely, long walk out. We do plan on returning soon, which pretty much defines how we feel about the place.

Time flies . . .
Convenient location to both the beach and other amenities. Nice area to walk, bike, hike, and shop. AC was a nice extra when needed but the shade of the trees kept the cottage cool most of the time. We look forward to a return trip to this cozy cottage.

"Sandy Toes" - a perfect place for two!
We had stayed there in June, loved it so much that we returned for a second time in September. Very cozy, very nice and close to many places we like to go to. Access to the local and private bayside beach is a real plus. We certainly plan on returning.

Everything you need in a great location.
We loved the location and the property was exactly as advertised. Anything you could need for a short getaway was provided. The hosts were very quick to respond and were very accommodating. The first thing we noticed was how clean the space was! Having a garden hose available to rinse off sandy toes and a cloths line to hang wet bathing suits and towels were a big plus. A quick walk to a bay beach, great for long walks in the mud flats! It would be nice if the shower stall was a bit roomer, but other than that, a great place for a getaway. We'll be back!

Perfect Cape Getaway for 2
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at this cottage. While it may appear small, it has more than enough space for 2 people to enjoy and use as a staging ground for bike rides, good food, and plenty of beach time. It is also much closer to the beach than I expected! I would definitely stay here again without a moment's hesitation!

Love this place!
This was the third time my wife and I stayed in this cottage and we really enjoy it. It’s located in a nice quiet neighborhood and really close to the bayside beach. There are some restaurants and cafes within walking distance or within a short drive. Hope to stay here again!

A cozy little cottage with charm
This cottage is one of the best we have stayed at in the area. Its well-maintained, with an attention to detail you don't often see in cottages. It was such a friendly place, and comes with access to the nearby private beach a 5 minute walk away (a peaceful beach with warm, shallow water and no rocks- truly amazing).
When renting similar houses, you can be bossed around by the house rules and restrictions upon arrival. NOT HERE! It's a nice welcome packet with some history of the property. Good vibe all around.
They have perfect air conditioning (needed for those hot humid days!), fast wifi, smart TV, etc- not like you need that at a cottage but its a huge plus. The owners are very friendly and are usually nearby to help you with anything you may need.
With its small size, it does not feel cramped or anything. It's the perfect size for what we needed with 2 people, however if you plan on having a group in there, this isn't the place for you.
It's perfect for a couple in need of a beach week/private getaway. Strongly recommend it!

"Sandy Toes" is wonderful for two!
“Sandy Toes” in Brewster on the bayside was the perfect spot for the two of us to get out to Cape Cod after missing our typical summer stay in 2020. The location in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood and within a 3-minute walk to the area’s private beach (along with wonderfully nice June weather) made our time there perfect. The small cottage with all its amenities is just right for any couple to have a relaxed getaway. Its location is just off Route 6A so “Sandy Toes” puts all of the area’s restaurants and take out places within a short driving distance. We are already looking to make reservations to go back! We came home with memories of “Sandy Toes” and with sandy toes!

Classic Cape style 1 bedroom house with modern conveniences like AC , WIFI and a Big Flat screen TV with all the cable access needed. Picnic table, chairs and BQ grill made this property complete.
The owners were awesome and if we needed anything they were there to help. If you like quiet and close to the beach then this is the place ! Will go back again !

All Delightful.
A very cute cottage on a family compound, but plenty of room, privacy and well equipped. Beach is a 5 min walk and (as advertised) not crowded. Also, did not think a "waahm" N. England beach existed, but this one is. Near Nickerson St Pk (great kettle ponds) and the bike path and charming Brewster/Yarmouth. Our thanks to Campbells for sharing.

This is a great get away for a solo traveler or couple. Minutes to a beautiful beach that extends 1/2 mile. The cottage is just as pictured. The owners were very responsive to my questions.
