About this house rental
Lisheen House is a large modern spacious house covering three levels that can cater for large crowds comfortably. The kitchen dining and sunken living room is all one area and covers over half of the ground floor area. Also on the ground floor there are two spacious bedrooms with queen beds. One has a full ensuite and the other has a small washroom with sink and toilet. The next level which is again built on concrete floors for safety and noise reduction boasts an extra spacious living room with cut stone fireplace and a very large panoramic window with views of the Burren hills. Sun light is a large feature in this room and is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and browse through some of the many books that are provided. Both living rooms have 32' flat screen tv's with seperate satellite controls. The main bathroom and two more bedrooms are also on this level. One is twin and the other has a queen bed with its own ensuite. The upper level has another twin and double bedroom and a wash room with toilet and sink. The house is centrally heated throughout and during the colder times , we provide wood for the open fires in both living areas.
All our fixtures and fittings are to a very high standard and we continually strive to maintain a high quality in the house.
The house is located midway between the beautiful coastal villages of Ballyvaughan in Co. Clare and Kinvarra in Co. Galway with an approximate distance of six miles to each village. Both villages offer a good choice of shops, restaurants ,pubs and craft fair and a farmers market is held one day a week in each village. However we are very lucky at Lisheen House to have a highly rated pub and restaurant that specialises in sea food only a few hundred yards from our door.
The local fishermans wife Martina , runs a small fish shop on the pier behind the pub offering a selection of fresh shell fish every day and at weekends she has a slection of other fish such as seabass ,salmon ,plaice etc. A short distance from the pub is an art gallery and pottery shop where the pottery is made. One of the owners had her origins in Italy and offers for sale a choice of organic wines and food imported from Italy and mostly produced by her own family.
Within a half mile from the house is an area called 'The Flaggy Shore'. Here you have a small sandy beach , ideal for swimming and the start of a fabulous walking route along The Flaggy Shore where you can do a three mile loop taking the scenery of Galway Bay and passing by Lough Murree, a small fresh water lake , home to swans , ducks and other bird life and yet is only seperated from the sea by not much more than 100 feet of land. The house is ideally located for taking in all the scenery and attractions Clare and the surrounding counties have to offer. Galway , the City of the Tribes and the market town of Ennis are less than a forty minute drive while Shannon International Airport and Bunratty Medieval Castle and Folk Park are just an hour away.

Wonderful home for our family vacation. Seamus was great to work with, and the house was spacious and clean. The house is a quick walk to a great restaurant and boasts beautiful views of the Burren and Galway Bay. The location is perfect for trips to the Cliffs of Mohr, Galway, and many other popular spots. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to groups looking for a memorable trip!

The property was lovely, and exactly as pictured. We were extremely comfortable in the home and thoroughly enjoyed all the incredible views of the water. The town of New Quay is quaint and welcoming. We have a lot of amazing memories from our visit to Ireland. We couldn't be more grateful for Lisheen House and all that Seamus did to make is so comfortable for our large group of 11.

The house was perfect for our family trip! My only regret is we were so busy we didn’t get to enjoy the house enough!! The washer and dryer were a huge help!!!

We were here for our wedding and brought about 9 people with us. We were comfortable here with 11 people. Short walk to the beach and Linnane’s, both were great! Our only complaint would be the coffee maker. My husband’s uncle had to clean it out multiple times before it could even be used because he said it was gross. Otherwise everything was great!

A great family Christmas in lisheen house , we were 8 Adults and 5 children and we had plenty of room . The house is very well stocked with everything you need and Seamus was the perfect host

Seamus was extremely communicative and the house was very well appointed! Beds were super comfortable and the house was overall great for us to gather together while also allowing for private time and space when desired. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Thank you Seamus for sharing your lovely home!

We spent an excellent week at Seamus's house. It's big and comfortable for the 10 of us to sit at the table together. (not that easy to find in Ireland, but as French people we like to eat together !). The equipment to cook is very complete. Seamus was welcoming and showed us how to light the fire. We had a little trouble understanding the waste sorting system, but I hope we did well (as it is different from back home). The kids loved running around in the large garden. Adults enjoyed walking to the art gallery, the beautiful Flaggy Shore, and the local pub. We drove to Galway, Cliffs of Moher, different places in Burren and even to Connemara for a day. We strongly recommend this house for its commodities and location.

Highly recommend, we really enjoyed our weekend escape in this house.

We had a large group of cousins who enjoyed our stay at Lisheen House. The property was perfect and the directions Seamus left were very detailed. We loved Linannes Restaurant just a short walk down the lane.

Fabulous stay, house has everything you need, so clean and spacious ideal for a group, would highly recommend a stay. Lovely little pub/restaurant just a few steps down the road

Everything met our expectations. Great communication w Seamus, great location, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen.

It was really nice to stay at seamus’ place. It was very spacious, clean and organized. The questions we had were answered promptly and we had a great stay.

Right from the start everything went quite smoothly. Seamus was there to greet us on arrival and was easy to contact with any questions we had during our stay. Would highly recommend- perfect family setting

This trip was about gathering extended family and having lots of laughs and family dinners and late night card games, early morning swims, lazy strolls around flaggy shore, finding cozy coffee shops or in this case a lovely chocolate shop. Location was perfect for all those things. Comfortable cozy home with lots of gathering spaces. We had a beautiful time together

This property and location were perfect for my husband’s family!!

Last summer we decided to meet our friends and family for another joint holiday. We had enjoyed one in Italy in 2018. We thought Ireland would be a good meeting point and started to look on VRBO for a house to hold 12/13 people. Lisheen House immediately stood out with its many floors and lounge rooms as well as bedrooms and bathrooms. We were able to book almost a year in advance and pay in instalments. It was great to know we had our accommodation secured. The location is amazing despite the weather we had many wonderful walks along the water and delicious dinners at Linanne’s just two minutes stroll from the house. The facilities are perfect for cooking your own meals too if that’s what you want to do. Seamus was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay near Galway and would recommend Seamus and Lisheen house!

This house says it all. We had a fab time, eating good local food at Linannes restaurant, short stroll from the house.
Fantastic walks in the Burren. The weather was mixed but there’s enough space in the house to enjoy the family of 15!!
I’d def recommend a stay here. Seamus is a super host extremely personable and more than helpful.

Communication with Seamus from start to checkout was fantastic! The pictures are accurate with the exception of the house now across the street which imp sea the first floor view but the higher floors have amazing views for rainbows and sunsets. It is extremely expensive to get transportation but a large van/taxi is available for hire with planning. The local bus has twice daily stops with an hour ride to Galway City. MUST HAVE CAR so best suited for groups from within Ireland. Comfortable well-appointed rooms and bathrooms and large gathering spaces. Open practical kitchen is limited by a refrigerator that is too small to accommodate a group of more than 4/5 and a freezer in need of regular defrosting. Linnane’s is good food and pub and the Flaggy Shore Oyster Experience was a favorite. We loved the sheepdog visits and the privacy - only issue was our ability to travel with just one car. Kinvara is convenient for groceries, pub, and Pier Head Restaurant is a good dinner spot. Washer/dryer and dishwasher are handy - we paid €150 for electricity used over 2-week stay. A great house and host in a beautiful area - recommend for groups with transportation.

Wonderful Accommodation!!!
The home was perfect for our group of 12…room for everyone. Lovely location. Enjoyed the pub and restaurant most evenings…friendly staff and great food. House manager was helpful and quick to answer any questions

We had a lovely week at Lisheen house. The house is very well set up and equipped for large family groups, with a great location for nearby beaches, Kinvarra and Ballyvaughan. The upstairs lounge is a particularly great spot for watching the sun set over the connemara mountains. The kids really enjoyed the large private garden.
4.9
House was great, had lots of room for all of us. Well supplied kitchen. Great views from the upstairs living room. Listing pictures do need to be updated however as a new house has been built across the road so there is no longer an unobstructed view of the ocean from the front at ground level. Loved our stay here and it’s in a great location to see the west of a Ireland and close to Galway.

We had a lovely time and it was a nice place to stay. Seamus responds quickly to answer any questions that you may have. I would recommend staying here if you like a cozy family feel not too far from town.

Wow, we cannot say enough about this property and how beautiful it was to get the privilege to stay here. We hope we can come back and enjoy it for more than just a day or two!!

Really impressed with the house and location. Sheamus was at the house to welcome us and had the fire going when we arrived. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes, bowls, cutlery etc but if you like a large mug of tea or coffee, bring your own mug. 2 very spacious living areas mean relaxation is easy and enjoyable here, with fabulous views. Linnanes Lobster Bar is a few hundred yards down the hill at the pier so we had to try a lobster and seafood dinner one of the nights. It was really good and well priced, but do book in advance. Would highly recommend the house for a few nights stay as a base to explore Co Clare especially if there is a group or extended family.

We had an excellent stay in this spacious and well equipped house. Two very pleasant living rooms, 6 bedrooms, two of which have bathrooms, a third to share.
Wood and coal at disposal which allowed us to spend some nice evenings.
The house is relatively isolated from built-up areas but that is what makes it so charming.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Seamus' home. It was very spacious with all the amenities needed. Seamus met us at the property to show us the ins and outs, he was very accommodating and welcoming. Very lovely!

The house was great.

If there were more than 5 stars to give I certainly would. This property was perfect for our group of varying adult ages and Seamus was a wonderful host. Absolutely a beautiful and comfortable home in a stunning location, Lisheen House had everything needed for a pleasant visit - and more. Seamus was easy to communicate with, had valuable suggestions, and his warm hospitality made quite an impression on all of us.

Our stay at the Lisheen House was absolutely amazing. Plenty of room for our 3 families (teenagers and adults) to spend then week. House is in a nice location- short walk to a nice restaurant/bar and flaggly shore seaside walking path. Pretty views all around. Seamus was pleasant - met us on arrival and showed us around the house. Everything was easy we didn’t have any additional questions or issues. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful house with good facilities. Well furnished with ample appliances .
We were surprised that we were asked to pay extra for Oil and electricity as this was not mentioned when booking, could be a major addition to ones budget

Seamus and his lovely home were perfect for our trip to Ireland. Seamus was so helpful and delightful to talk to. He gave us some great suggestions for our stay. The home is perfectly situated near the cove with a great restaurant within walking distance. The bedrooms were nicely appointed and comfortable. There was lots of room to spread out and have privacy. We would highly recommend staying at the Lisheen house.

Seamus was a fantastic host. His recommendation to go on the Flaggy walk was a a great one.
We were super comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds and baths are clean and lovely.
A quiet and peaceful place to stay, with views in every direction. We saw many rainbows.

We really enjoyed our stay at Seamus' house in September this year. Seamus is a great host and was very responsive to questions prior to our arrival. The house was great for our group, there is plenty of sleeping accomodation for large families and the kitchen is a great communal space for large groups. The location of the house was excellent; with the Flaggy Shore in walking distance and Linnanes restaurant at the end of the street.

House was perfect for our group. Plenty of space and very well equipped. Overall we had a great time in your house.

Perfect amount of space for three families - great layout of bedrooms and bathrooms. Open kitchen/sunken living room made spending time together cooking and chatting easy relaxing and never feeling crowded. Everyone LOVED the location - beautiful walks around Flaggy Shore and to grab a pint at Linannes across the street. Also easy drive to Ballyvaughan or Kinvara for restaurants and groceries.Only caveat has nothing to do with the house but just to let visitors know that by late November many of the pubs and restaurants significantly reduce the days/hours they are open. Even if their website says they are open it’s best to call first to ensure it’s accurate.Would definitely be interested in renting this property again! Seamus was so easy to work with and very accommodating to our changing schedule when I was making the reservation - Thank you!
