We had a great stay with our party of 9! Cabin was very well stocked, clean and exactly as advertised. Theater room was a great extra. Jetted tubs were wonderful after a long day of driving. Distance to park entrance was good and location/view was exactly what we were wanting. Would definitely stay here again but i would bring grippy socks for the stairs since you must leave your shoes at the door.

This was a beautiful cabin. We had 14 family members and there was plenty of room to spread out. It was located near most anything you want to do in IP. We really enjoyed watching the Olympics in the theater room! That was a bonus!

The house was exactly as described. It was spacious with plenty of room for 8 adults. Very clean and well kept. Good communication and easy check in process. I hope all my VRBO’s are like this.

This home is fantastic! Absolutely gorgeous and spacious and has every amenity one could need. Our group of 12 loved this home, it was very comfortable and the proximity to Yellowstone was great. Beautiful setting and views as well. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

We visited Yellowstone (15 persons) for one week. This home is perfect for a family week. Cozy, large, it has all you need, and is only 20 minutes from West Yellowstone entrance. The Pickering family are wonderful hosts. We loved this house.

We had a fabulous time, the location was perfect, and the cabin more than met our needs. It was like a retreat. Gorgeous!

We had fourteen people stay at the cabin-10 adults, 4 kids ages 7 - 15. The accommodations were wonderful. Three bedrooms had attached bathrooms, with the basement bedrooms sharing a bath. The kitchen was large & well equipped with the outdoor grill and two refrigerators & ovens coming in very handy! There was plenty to do there - play billards, watch a movie in the theater, sit around & chat or check out the scenery from the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. Would go back in an instant. We all loved it!

Beautiful cabin with many features that enhanced our stay. We loved the 3 levels so that each age group could enjoy their own activities. The views were beautiful and the location was convenient to exploring the natural beauty of the W Yellowstone area.

Our family (9 adults + 1 teenager) enjoyed a wonderful Christmas vacation in this fantastic cabin. The open kitchen and living area was ideal for all of us to congregate together as a group. The downstairs game room is a really nice added space for group activities. Turns out, we had a couple of unknown pool sharks in our midst. The upstairs loft also has additional sofas and bean bag chairs. The cabin is true to the photos on VRBO. All the beds were very comfortable with high quality sheets.
There were only two very minor issues during our stay.
1. There was a fair amount of snowfall during our stay. We were warned prior to our arrival of the condition the driveway would be in. Even though the driveway is plowed and our vehicles were all-wheel drive, it was still a bit challenging at times to get in and out. This is comment is not meant to be a criticism of the cabin or the location. Simply a reiteration that if your stay is during the winter, a proper vehicle will be a must-have.
2. The radiant heating system in does a remarkable job of heating the cabin. Ironically, with overnight lows in the teens, we found the cabin to be a bit warm for sleeping. There are multiple thermostats throughout the house that control the heating, which we eventually dialed in on comfortable settings. It would have been helpful to have a chart, or layout, showing the zones that each stat controls.
Other than those one very minor issues, the cabin is truly exceptional, and we highly recommend it.

The property is wonderful. It was clean with many amenities. We enjoyed it immensely. The kids loved running around the surround deck while the adults relaxed inside. It fit all our needs plus. I'm not sure we could ask for anything that wasn't there. Great beds. What mattresses do you use?

Fantastic “headquarters” for our 10-person adult gathering!

This property is absolutely gorgeous! This is the sixth house we have rented for our large family vacations and this property exceeded our expectations. The house was very clean, the furnishings were of good quality and there was plenty of seating for all the adults to gather in the living room while the kids tried to stay as far away from us as possible in the basement playing pool , foosball, or in the theater watching a movie. They also spent time playing games outdoors. We loved hanging out on the wrap around deck taking in the view of the mountains or watching the cattle graze in the pasture across the road. On several occasions there were antelope grazing in the same field. We had a slight problem with the hot water heater but Brandie quickly responded to my text and we had hot water within a minute after her response. We highly recommend this property for your Yellowstone and the surrounding area vacation. PS. Super comfy beds as well.

We had a great time and I was very impressed with the property. It’s a very easy drive to West Yellowstone, lakes, rivers and a variety of fun places.
My family also loved the yard and privacy.
Outstanding property!

Let me start with, this log house is gorgeous! The description does not do it justice. The layout was excellent for my mixed group. I traveled with my parents and my aunt (all over 65), my spouse (40), my sister (43), my boys (13 & 10) and her children (9 and 17-special needs). This house was extremely well stocked. We did run low on toilet paper but there are several stores nearby and I opted to just buy more rather than ask for it. It is also close to several restaurants. I would definitely book this rental again. Thank you for the lovely stay!!!

Pickering Cabin at Sawtelle Lookout was a great VRBO for family to use as a base for exploring Yellowstone National Park only 20 minutes from the west entrance.
Plenty of room for kids to unwind after a day out in nature.
Plenty of space, clean, nicely appointed and well stocked with goodies.
We would definitely stay there again, and highly recommend it.
However, there were some very minor issues, which I am sure the owner or manage will attended to in the future as follows: #1. Noritz hot water heater went off-line twice, but caretaker was able to talk us through restarting it fairly quickly. Apparently, this has happened before, according to the caretaker. #2. First floor master shower was missing a curtain or door, so you had to be very careful not to get water on the floor while showing. #3. The outside stairs from the parking spot to the front door had a slightly uneven height, (approx. 1/8" to 1/4") transition from stairs to the deck, which could cause a tripping hazard, if you were not careful. These are very minor and fixable issues, which did not keep us from giving this property 5 stars.

Family of 15 spending a week snowmobiling in Island Park. The trail is right behind the home. Couldn't get any easier! The home is cozy and comfortable for everyone. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the well equipped kitchen. Look forward to coming back during the summer months and renting side by sides. I highly recommend renting Pickering Cabin.

We absolutely loved the property! Seemed like the pool table was used alot in the evenings after long days in the parks and on the road. Big breakfast every morning around the bar before everyone going their separate ways. Amazing views! Loved it! The whole group loved the place!

The beautiful log cabin home was just 20 minutes from West Yellowstone It served as our home base for visiting Yellowstone.. In Island Park, we also enjoyed a horse trail ride at Eagle Ridge Ranch and riding UTV’s. We saw moose out in a river in Island Park. Our group consisted of 2 families (2 sets of grandparents, 5 adult children, and 4 grandchildren ages 6-11) for a total of 13 .
Be careful using the washer settings—the hoses may be hooked up incorrectly—when I pulled out clothes washed in cold—they were very hot. Also, they have a rule about not wearing shoes in the house—bring houseshoes or socks with grippers on the bottom because walking on tile is not comfortable and 2 of us slipped going down the bottom stairs and got some good bruises. Other than that, we would recommend this place to anyone. It had more food, condiments, and items such as garbage bags, detergent, etc. than I have ever found in a VRBO. We cooked most of our meals here (grocery shopped at Albertsons in Jackson Hole prior to arriving) but we did pick up great pizzas just down the road at Mack’s Inn. We found a nearby gas station had some additional items we needed as well as a supermarket in W Yellowstone. One other thing we enjoyed with the kids was the Grizzly Discovery Center in West Yellowstone where we saw wolves, bears and more. This house worked out well for everyone.

This cabin is exactly how it looks in the pictures. It’s about 20 minutes from the West Entrance which is nice. You get so much bang for your buck just by not staying in or adjacent to the park. The house was very well stocked with kitchen supplies, bear spray, first aid, etc. The views were great and I would highly recommend doing the ATV’s which is right down the street. I hope to come back soon!

From the beginning Brandi was responsive to any questions I had. The cabin and location were great for our large family get together. We enjoyed Yellowstone along with many other excursions close to the cabin ex. rafting down Henry’s Fork, horseback riding and a rodeo. The movie room along with the pool table and foosball kept all the older kids entertained while we were there. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful cabin for the week!!

Our stay was enjoyable. The inside of the cabin is beautiful, a lot of detail. The cabin seemed lived in, a lot of opened condiments in the fridge and cabinets.
Their were a couple of issues, one caused an accident. The downstairs shower was very slippery causing my adult daughter to slip and injure her shoulder and leg. The other was outside. The railing is loose and was replaced during our stay. I’m talking with the repairman, he stated that he hadn’t been to the cabin in over a year to check things out.
After the accident, I sent the property manager a text. I had to call the owners to get a response. Joann quickly brought out shower mats and had the handyman repair the railing.
I think the railing should be looked at more frequently.
Overall our stay was pleasant. We saw pronghorn everyday

From the start to the final day our experience was perfect. Property was spacious, clean, and fully supplied. Our grandchildren fell in love with the movie room. (The movie room helped keep the kids out of trouble. They were quiet and attentive. Technology does that these days.) We had a great time and are so appreciative of the kind hospitality.
