About this apartment rental
Located just four miles from Downtown Durango, in the stunning Animas Valley, our quiet woodsy retreat offers you privacy, comfort and easy access to the area's great activities. Satellite TV, free WiFi, fresh coffee and herbal teas tempt you to settle in for a cozy stay, but there's so much to do! We're located on a county road with world class golfing (Dalton Ranch) and rejuvenating hot springs (Durango Hot Springs Resort) just five minutes from your door. Durango's best bakery (Bread) is about a mile away, and is open for early risers! Best of all, it's completely quiet here - no 6 am Train whistles, no sirens, no in-town traffic. Our home is tucked into the forest against the base of red rock cliffs; out your back door you may see deer, elk, wild turkeys and an occasional silent coyote wander by.
Durango offers days (years!) of exploring: the best-known actvities are the 1880's Siverton Train; World Heritage Site Mesa Verde National Park, and the excellent winter skiing at Durango Mountain Resort. But there's so much more: hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, a river winding through the Animas Valley that's perfect for rafting and tubing, and dozens of shops and restaurants that reward your senses after full days of fun. We have world-class artists and artisans in Southwest Colorado and their best work is on display right here. Restaurants range from the simple to absolutely gourmet.
Plan on a few relaxing days with us - Settle in and slow down; your mind and body will thank you.

Cute little place tucked into the woods. Close enough to town but far enough to enjoy nature. Great place to go and settle down and relax

Loved staying out a bit, nature and wildlife was perfect. Clean, cozy with an outside sitting space looking out to nature. We saw deer and an actual bear. Comfortable bed, air conditioner and a fan available. Tea and coffee available, fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave. Cozy space up a small flight of stairs. Recommend!

Loved our stay! If you are looking for something close to Durango but secluded enough to feel like you are surrounded by woods, this is the place. It is a cozy studio with everything you need. The views were amazing! The host was responsive, and we really appreciated the ease of our stay. Checking out involved a quick wash of the dishes we used. It was nice not to have a ridiculous list of chores to do before heading home. Highly recommend.

A perfect stay for us. It was quiet and peaceful. Check in and out was super easy. It was clean and had everything that we needed. I’d definitely stay here again!

This place is amazing! The location is absolutely beautiful. It was clean and super cozy. It takes 5 minutes to get to downtown Durango so you are removed just enough. Loved going to Still Life Coffee to grab a chia tea and their matcha pound cake is amazing. Gorgeous neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking up at the red rock cliffs sipping on wine in the evenings. I highly recommend this property. This will definitely be our go to when in Durango.

Red Rock was very nice and in a relatively easy location to drive from Durango. We didn’t cook, so nothing to clean. There is only one sink in the bathroom, (none in the kitchen area) so I’m not sure how easy it would be to clean up from cooking. Overall a great little place!

Property owner couldn’t have made staying any easier! There wasn’t a laundry list of rules to follow, so we were able to just relax and enjoy our stay. Not too far out of town, with easy parking. It was a little dated, but wonderfully clean! A lovely little place to stay! A+

We had a great time. The location was close to everything.
We would definitely stay again.

This is a lovely studio - in a beautiful, peaceful setting! Very clean and cozy and safe. Great communication with host. Just outside of Durango - renting a car is recommended.

It was clean but that's about all I can say good. The TV only had Netflicks on it with no local channels or news. There was no sink except in the bathroom and you were supposed to wash dishes and use the same sink to put make-up on and for partner to shave. We left 2 days early because of being so disappointed.

Red Rock Room was fantastic, and my daughter and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. The room is cozy and have everything we needed. The room is in a quiet location and close to town and all the beautiful things the area has to offer. Everything was very clean! We saw turkeys, chipmunks, a variety of colorful birds. Dobby the cat made a couple of appearances. We hope to make another visit and we will book with Alison again!

Our host, Alison, was nothing short of amazing! Very communicative and she spared no details as to anything we needed assistance with! We enjoyed the relaxation in this cozy home and the beauty of the nature that surrounded the area! Highly recommended and I would definitely look to booking here again when I pay another visit to the Durango/ San Juan National Forest area!

Clean and everything you needed and nothing you didn’t. Very comfortable with coffee and good TV! Not for people with physical disabilities due to winding type steps. Great value and comfortable nice bed!

A lovely property. Conveniently close to downtown Durango, but far enough out to be quiet when it counts. We discovered this on a bike weekend. Also, we were lucky to have Allison, an extra-responsive host!0

Wonderful studio! It is really beautiful and the setting is just lovely. It is only 10 minutes from the Durango Hot Springs. I spent six days on a business trip here and it was perfect.

The place had everything we needed and was a quiet retreat from the busy day we had. To look up at the red cliffs from the door area was lovely!!!

Beautiful clean studio close to town yet felt far away in forest setting. Friendly hostess who obviously cares you have a wonderful visit. I’ve already recommended to friends & family.

This is a cozy, private gem. Perfect for two people. Host was friendly. Room was clean, cool, and quiet. Just a few minutes from town, hot springs, and rafting.

This is the most magical place to stay. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. It was a peaceful, cozy atmosphere within the trees. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were the best I've ever experienced. My husband was able to rest while I was at a conference. I'm so happy I found this sacred space.

Great stay
We stayed 2 nights. Arrived around 10pm and were very nervous that we wouldn't be able to find the property in the dark, but there was an address sign that was basically lit up, and finding it was so easy!! Great stay, highly recommend
