Enter the main level to discover the spacious great room with cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors, and a wall of windows that reveals wooded mountain views. It's easy to imagine all of the fun you will have gathered with friends and family around the wood burning fireplace on crisp fall evenings or snowy winter nights. The open floor plan means you can join in lively conversations that are happening in the great room while you make everyone's favorite meals in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, granite countertops, stainless appliances and custom cabinets make it a cook's delight! The large island gives you plenty of space to prepare yummy snacks and delicious dinners. There is plenty of seating at the dining room table for everyone to share a meal and then break out the board games when the dishes are cleared.

For a large family, it’s great….the family room, kitchen and dining area is spacious for the amount of people we had. The furniture and area rug in the family room could use a good cleaning or replacement, the 2 wicker chairs could be replaced(very uncomfortable).
The outdoor area was spacious and did have enough seating for our group.

Let me start by saying this was a large house and great for hanging out with a big group, loved the location. The property lacked in cleanliness and upkeep. When we arrived, dishes in the cabinets were visibly dirty with stains and caked on food, the coffee maker was not cleaned and still had old coffee grinds. The rug in the family room is in need of replacement or a good cleaning, the microwave was not working, in the master bathroom tub the sprayer was not working, the hot tub one of the jets was not working. The A/C was hard to regulate, temperature was set at 72 on all thermostats, basement was so cold got down to 56……. And temps on the other floors were ok. The bunk room downstairs has futon mattresses which are very uncomfortable.

The patio area under the deck stays wet/moist making it a breeding ground for mosquitoes so take bug spray. It wouldn’t prevent us from renting again but it was a little bit of a nuisance. Love the extra refrigerator and the “utility” room, it was so awesome having that!

The house is beautiful, although to be completely honest, it could use someone to organize the kitchen, upgrade the kitchen faucet and replace ALL of the beds. We had 10 people in our party and EVERY complaint was about how awful the beds were. When we first arrived and walked around the place we immediately talked about booking again for next year...but after sleeping in the awful beds, we would probably try to find a different property.
It really is a beautiful home, and if you don’t care about a crappy bed, you’ll love it! 🙂

Overall we had a great experience. The house was beautiful, clean and wonderfully cared for. It was also in a great (yet remote) location. The only disappointment was the lack of care and communication from the rental company. On our first morning there, we had a gentleman show up to "service the dishwasher." While the gentleman was nice, we were given no notice and (being that we were all woman staying alone) we felt a tad uncomfortable. The other was on our checkout day. Checkout was at 10AM. At 9AM, the Taylor-Made truck showed up, and a man started walking around the property. He then proceeded to come into the house, UNINVITED, through the back door. Again, ALL WOMEN, staying at this house alone- and a man walks in from the outside without an invitation. The experience booking and leading up to our rental was wonderful and the staff was very accommodating. However, I was completely put off by the aforementioned two experiences.

The rental staff was very helpful and came right out when we couldn't connect DVD players. I have to say our favorite part of the home was the back deck with the outdoor fireplace which we enjoyed every night! The family wants to rent it again next year!

Our group has been getting together for years and this property was by far the nicest and well-maintained we've stayed in. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, the outdoor fireplace, the decor and layout were lovely and everything was exceptionally clean. Since it can be challenging to manage big groups, I really appreciated the ease of check-in and checkout. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone with a big group.

Great location! Close to the slopes, sports center and golf course. The layout of the house was very conducive to enjoying the company of other families, but still having enough room to spread out. The bar room was a great touch and was heavily used due to the dreadful weather. Also, enjoyed the covered patio/fireplace on the side of the house. Overall the house was perfect for our needs, the only complaint being the condition of the furniture. The couch in the basement was in terrible shape and had the leather peeling off in several large patches. The shuffleboard table while fun is relatively beat up and has seen better days. The couch in main room had a hole in the back and at least one of the cushions had the plastic wiring sticking out. This would be the perfect house for all seasons once the furniture is updated. Taylor Made was great to work with as usual, with a special thanks to Raven for all her help making this celebration possible.

My husband and I, along with 12 of our friends stayed at the Mountainlair for a weekend getaway. We had a great time and got to relax in the house, as well as hit the slopes (which are roughly 200 yards away). Big house with a lot of character fit all of us fine, but there were some imperfections... Out of the 4 showers in the house, only the one in the master bedroom had hot water all weekend. So that was an inconvenience for everyone to have to use just one shower. Also the kitchen sink didnt have hot water so it made it hard to clean some of the greasy dishes. On top of that, the dish washer wouldn't run it's cycle properly so we couldnt run dishes all weekend. The hot tub was nice in size, but one of the head rests had been broken off before our arrival and it made it so one of the pipes shoots water out of the top of the tub, so we had to fill it on two differemt occasions... All in all, we had a great time and this house is great for it's cleanliness and proximity to the slopes. I just hope the company can fix these issues before the next people rent this house. I would definitely stay here again if the above issues are addressed.

It was nice to spend time as a family together at Mountainlair. The location was close to the slopes. We thought the house was in reasonable shape but for the money charged it could have been been better, the couch downstairs was old and peeling and there were patches on the walls. The bed in the basement was tilted and the tv did not work. Other than that all was good. We picked the coldest weekend of the year to ski which was unfortunate. I suppose we will take a chance and book at the last minute so we can see the weather report from now on. We lost the money we put down as a deposit on ski school because it was too cold to ski. Half the chair lifts were not operating. We called management several times Thursday night for help getting my niece and her husband from the base of the neighborhood to the house. No one answered. It was a virtual white out and the roads don't all have signs on them. We would likely try Deep Creek again in a different season. Can you tell us when the security deposit will be returned?

Morning We had 3 couples staying at this home from Canada-Indiana-Virginia. Our check in date was Sept 22nd and check out was Oct 1st. All in all we were pleased with the home. Upon our arrival from Canada, we went to office and were able to check in approx 1hr ahead of time. It was very much appreciated. The staff at check in were wonderful and assisted us a great deal. We were extremely disappointed to discover there was "gravel" roads for part of our access to the home. All of us had motorcyles and this was a specific request when looking at homes in the area that there be no gravel. Until the roads are paved no customer should be there with motorcycles. The roads were full of potholes and it made travel in and out a daily struggle. We had an issue with the air-conditioning. Our first communication with the office had no rep call or come to the home. A REP was at the home to maintain the hottub- we advised him of the issue and he reported to Maintenance and we had a REP within minutes come to the home. He advised us that it was fixed and we should no longer be freezing in the home. Next morning the house was down to 62 and unfortunately the issue was never resolved.There was no TV in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Advised the office- REP came and left note that there was no box in room and the cable company would be in contact. For our entire 9 day stay this was not addressed and no contact. I do understand this is "minor" in some guests opiniions but it meant a great deal to the couple whom did not have it. The room was advertised and booked upon those guarantees. It is a beautiful area with a very welcoming feel.The "local" business's and people were fantastic.
