Paradise Found best describes the Alpine Wilderness Lodge. What we enjoy most about the cabin is relaxing on the 60-foot deck that overlooks the pond at the end of a wonderful day! We take time to reflect on the nature hiking trails we explored and the wildlife we encountered on our adventurous walks during the day. But what keeps us coming back to the cabin is the beautiful views surrounding the property, just a reminder of our Creator in all His majesty. Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine as you unwind.
With the option to catch dinner in town (Ellicottville) or just hang out and enjoy a BBQ, we never tire of the fresh air and plenty of sunshine as we enjoy a late dinner setting on the deck once again. Time seems to stand still at the Lodge as wonderful memories are made, memories that last a lifetime. Some of our guests have returned for their 15th year and are now bringing back the second generation of their family with them.
The Lodge is truly a place to relax and enjoy family and friends. Come stay a while and see what we mean. And don't forget—the night skies are perfect for stargazing!

The address was confusing because I assume the owner lived at the address on the listing, but "The Lodge" was about 1/4 of a mile down the road from the house address listed. There was also no cell tower available, so you could only text with the WIFI. However, the Lodge was remote, VERY peaceful and Quiet, large and open and tranquil. It was also away from any kind of traffic or any neighbors.

Very clean, relaxing, large cabin! Loved fishing and swimming in the pond!

This was an older hunting lodge in the woods, many game mounts and antlers, we thought it was very cool and certainly unique, close to Holiday valley, we had a great time.

Seclusion at it’s finest
We had two families spend a week here and enjoyed every minute of it. Plenty of room for 9 people and the pond was big enough to enjoy our kayaks and paddle board. Margie was great to deal with and we will back at some point in the future.

Great Property to get away.
This is the ideal spot to get away from everything (including cell service). There is plenty of yard to play games like cornhole/can jam etc. The cabin had plenty of space for 8 adult men - large main room with 4 couches and tons of outdoor space. We also loved the stove, plenty of burners and a flat top section was great for breakfast.

Enjoyed the stay. Great weather!
We really enjoyed the property. We only wish we had more "quality wood" to burn in the fire pit. We used it sparingly due to lack of quality wood. We shall return next year!

Amazing Hide Away!
We had a group of friends and family staying for a ski weekend, and The Lodge was perfect! There was plenty of space to spread out, but also a living room area in front of the fire place that felt super cozy. Comfortable beds, large dining table, plenty of hot water and a fire to warm up after skiing, and a casual feel...couldn't get better any better than that.
Make sure to get specific direction for getting in, as the address isn't a pinpoint location, but it's well worth the trip to have such a spacious house and property around it. We are planning to come back over the summer when we can enjoy the outside areas more. Thanks for a great stay!

A secluded spot with plenty to do. The pond was perfect to keep the kids entertained, either fishing, swimming, or jumping off the rope swing. The trails are pretty well maintained and worth the time to walk them. Overall we had an amazing time with friends and family.

Beautiful property
We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean. Lots of room for the kiddos inside and out. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time at the lodge. Its very large and roomy. It rained most of the time unfortunately, but we had board games and all kinds of stuff there too keep us occupied. Ended up being a great time bonding.
We brought our kayaks and enjoyed the pond. Didnt try the ropeswing this time, but i will on the next trip. Gas grill came in handy. Great firepit. Overall great time. We will be back

Great Family Get Away
We had a wonderful time at The Lodge. Enjoyed relaxing with family and friends. Having fires indoors and out, walking the property and just overall a nice place to have a family get camp out. My 3 year old grand daughter didn't want to leave and wants to know when we can go back.

The Lodge
Our stay at the lodge was great! We enjoyed the remote and spaciousness of the property. The never ending trails (beautiful,) the huge yard, nice pond, and roomy house fit our family perfectly. We had all ages stay for my step-dads 50th birthday and everyone enjoyed there stay. We especially liked swimming in the pond and hanging around the campfire at night. I would definitely recommend this property - the owners were so nice as well!

Wonderful Getaway!
We had a wonderful time staying at this perfect remote location. The cabin was very large and the property was amazing! That pond is so peaceful! A few recommendations to anyone going to visit in the future- bring your own camping chairs to sit around the fire. Other than a picnic table there is no seating. If you have small children, bring nightlights! The cabin is pitch black at night. I also felt that I had a difficult time communicating with the owner. It took a very long time for responses and when it came close to the trip I had no reply from leaving a voicemail asking for a call back. I finally had to call again and Margie was extremely pleasant to speak with. But, there was some very important details about the property that should have been addressed without me having to track the owner down. Like- the actually directions to the cabin - they are a little different from what is listed , how to get inside the place and the WiFi password. The linoleum should really be washed between guests. Also, the dumpster on the property seriously needs to be addressed. It was very full when we showed up and the bears broke in to it WITH the bungee cords still attached and we had placed rocks on top! We had to clean up other guests garbage in the morning and it was very disgusting! Even with any minor issues we would return to this place in a heartbeat! Other than the floors, the cabin was fairly clean! It was very relaxing and we had perfect summer weather to enjoy everything the place had to offer!

Relaxing
The location is very private and peaceful.
Although twice neighbors showed up on Atvs, to fish and drop off trash, which threw us off. It was wonderful to listen to the quiet, except when neighbor ran chainsaw for hours. The cabin is big but could be cleaner. Cobwebs, lightbulbs out, floors were dirty upon arrival, screens are ripped, mouse in bedroom. Couches are comfy, table huge, deck amazing. My favorite part was the swing overlooking pond and sound of nearby stream. My kids loved catching newts in pond. My husband loved rocking chairs. Address delivered us to neighbors house which we were not expecting. Wish there was instructions for grill, tv, stove, fireplace. Overall nice stay.

Great for ski get away
Margie was a great host and her description of the property was pretty true. Perfect for large group. Only thing I would note is that there is not a washer/dryer for wet snow clothes. Also there is No WiFi or cell reception at all. You have to get in your car and drive up the road to get service. This was not clearly noted in description.

Fun by the Pond!
We loved our stay for the most part the key was not on the counter as we were told it would be. So couldn't lock up when leaving for outing . And I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness I pulled an extra blanket and pillow from a shelf in bedroom and it was full of mouse poop!🤨 so house cleaning is poor!! Other than that we enjoyed it. Lack of phone service or landline was a problem as we had children who are young and could be injured anytime.

solitude galore
Loved the area, very secluded and peaceful. Great pond with bird watching and serenades by the frogs. The cabin could have been a bit cleaner, cupboards, and stove need a good cleaning, and there was a musty smell that lingered. I could tell there was a lot of history in the place and that gave it charm. The front porch was perfect. It would have been helpful to have a reference binder with info on operating stove safely and how to access cable. There was only one porch light that worked which makes those arriving in the dark for the first time a bit more challenging . Still had a wonderful family time. Great table i kitchen with room for all and then some.

Weather took over!
Still a pretty nice Lodge and almost everything was ready for us upon arrival. Only spent a few hours outside as it rained almost the entire time of our stay. Looking forward to returning again next year and hoping for better weather!
4.6
Country seclusion
Everything was good and reasonably priced, the land and the property were super nice . The property was well taken care of. Cooking on the oven was a little sketchy . But the cabin was pretty nice overall. No cell phone service or WiFi , perfect getaway in my opinion !

Perfect family place!
What a lovely time we had! House is perfect for big and loud family gatherings! We all loved the big fireplace and burnt a lot of wood that was provided for free! Thank you Margie!
Our little ones 3,5 and 7 felt very comfortable and adventurous running around playing hide and seek!
And the adults survived 5 days without internet, in fact all enjoyed the “no cellphone” time... it meant more talks and more games!!
Ride to the ski hills takes 15 min, no problem!

Second time around
3 generations of our family stayed this year. The property is great to let the kids explore and play outside and plenty of room inside when the weather doesn't cooperate. We were able to get all 12 family members around the kitchen table. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The 2 bathrooms with showers made everything easier. Our only negative is the configuration of the bedrooms; they didn't fit our needs.
We enjoyed swimming and fishing in the pond and I could have sat on the porch all morning.
We took a side trip to Griffis Sculpture park this year. The scenery was spectacular.
Our youngest family member was fascinated by all the animals hanging on the wall.

The Lodge is the best!
Great place to get away and unplug!

Great multi family ski weekend
We were 3 families with 8 teenagers and the big living room and long dining room table were perfect for board games and cards. Great get away from technology and lots of quality family time. Easy drive to ski hill
lodge offered comfortable accommodation for all 14 of us with 5 boys in the living room. Only thing missing was a working coffee maker. We had a great weekend Margie was quick to reply to our booking and very responsive and welcoming. Nice touch and welcome card and bottle of wine. No hesitation recommending

Delightful family vacation
We loved the cabin! My mom, adult siblings, and our children all went for the week. The cabin was comfortable and we loved the pond and fire pit. It is so peaceful and quiet and beautiful there! The kids loved playing and running, and so did the dogs. We played lots of board games and movie nights too. There were tons of blankets, and plenty of towels (unless you're using a new one every day, which we didn't). One thing- if you don't like a hard bed, make sure to bring an air mattress or mattress pad or something. A couple of us ended up setting up air mattresses after the first couple nights. (but we still managed to fit everyone comfortably)

Great place to stay!
I have stayed at Alpine Wilderness Lodge many times over the last 10 years or so! Alpine Wilderness Lodge has a cozy, homey feel to it and is a great place to gather with family and friends. It offers lots of comfortable sleeping arrangements and a nice size kitchen to cook and hang out in. It is in close enough proximity to Ellicottville, NY to ski, shop, eat and enjoy the nightlife, but far enough away where you get that wilderness, zen feel. There is a huge pond to fish in, and lots of land to enjoy your outdoor hobbies on. Also, the owners are amazing and very attentive to their guests!

Southern Tier Charm & Natural Beauty
My family and I have used the Lodge for multiple getaways now the location is still one of our favorite Southern Tier getaways. The property is only a 5-10 minute drive from the Ski Slopes of Ellicottville NY, which is nice because we like to play hard and retreat to the solace of the Lodge after a long winter day. Summers are excellent for hiking, sight seeing, fishing, four-wheeling, dirt biking and mountain bike riding, I recommend taking in both the cold and warm months.
The owners are very hospitable and have grounds keepers located less than a mile from the lodge in case anything is ever needed. They have updated a lot over the years; new furniture, hardware, kitchenware, LED TV & Dish Network great for the kids at night.
I have so many priceless memories, the Lodge has been perfect for my family, we will return for years to come.

Wonderful Experience A+ Location
My girlfriends and I needed a spring adventure getaway. The location has to be one of the most beautiful places we have traveled to in the Ellicottville area. So much to take in I wish we should have stayed a full week. The Alpine Wilderness Lodge comfortably accommodated my party of 10. We spend the whole weekend hiking, sight seeing, roasting marshmallows and laughing.
I highly recommend anybody that enjoys a little adventure and some R&R to visit.

THE PERFECT GET AWAY!!
The Alpine wilderness lodge has been a life changing experience. I am so happy to be able to take my young children out there, they love it. We will be renting again as they get older. It's very comfortable. A perfect cozy get away!

Great Time
Been here multiple times. Very serene and restful. Large pond, fishing for the kids. Plenty of space inside and out, hiking trails, 15 minutes from a super market and restaurant if you wanted to get out for a night. Lots of activities in the area, depending on the season. Highly recommended!!

Beyond rustic
We stayed here recently, and while we can appreciate rustic charm, this cabin went a little beyond rustic. Aside from no cell service (which we can live without) there is no landline available, either. The cabin is situated a 10 minute drive from anywhere, making it not only inconvenient (in the event, for example, you have members of your party arriving separately, in the dark, and needing directions), it is also unsafe (no way to reach cabin owners or emergency services if needed).
The cabin is spacious and accommodated eight of us, but it was very cluttered (Christmas decorations still up), in need of a good cleaning, and some updated amenities. The kitchen cupboards were littered with old pots, pans, and utensils, and the old, unkempt oven lost it's charm years ago.
As can happen when temperatures dip well below zero, the pipes in both showers froze, causing flooding during the first use. The owner was kind enough to attempt to fix things, but this meant frequent visits, and wet bath mats that we had to request be replaced (we couldn't wash and dry them ourselves, as there are no laundry facilities on-site). In the end, only one shower got back up and running, and nothing was offered for the inconvenience.
While not the most expensive place out there, The Lodge was also not the cheapest, and we felt that we paid too much. We will not be returning.

Great Get-away
This place was great, beautiful area, quiet, and lots of space inside and out. We had our annual family gathering here, we had 15 adults, 4 children, and a baby. We brought a camper, set it up in the driveway behind the lodge. Between the camper and the lodge's 3 bedrooms and 5 couches, we had plenty of space for all. FYI - The third bedroom had 2 full size bunk beds.
The huge deck was a great place to sit and have coffee and enjoy the view. The large fire pit in the back was our night time hangout - lots of s'mores were consumed. The pond got lots of activity too, between swimming and fishing. The kids enjoyed fishing in the morning and evenings, and swimming in the afternoon when it got warm. The owner was very nice and helpful, and lived close by so if we needed anything she was right there.
The surrounding areas were enjoyed also - Seneca-Iroquois National Museum, Seneca Allegany Casino, Salamanca Rail Museum, Salamanca Antiques Mall, the Drive-In theater, and any brewery within a 30 mile radius.
