The house was exactly how it was previewed online. Perfect private back yard with a pool and a great view thru the short path to the beach. Busy road out front but once out back a perfect paradise! Centrally located in the island so far enough from the tourist areas but still an easy drive to all the spots. We loved snorkeling behind the house. Also, a great chef has just opened a restaurant next door and will cater to whatever you want!

We are a family of four, with two older kids (13 & 18) and we stayed for 6 nights.
The house was very clean upon arrival, the house was nearly spotless. The overall house is nice and the space worked well for our situation. The upstairs is setup in a way that the space is very private from the down stairs. Both of the beds have firm mattresses for those that want to know.
The outside space is pretty nice with some privacy as well as direct access to the beach. We stayed about 10 days after Hurricane Beryl passed and beach cleanup efforts had not begun so I can't speak to how the beach would normally look but it could certainly be a great space after cleanup.
The communication was fairly prompt and responsive, no issues there.
For those that are light sleepers, you should be aware that the house is directly on the road and Bodden Rd is very busy from early morning to late night. The busy road also made it a challenge to park in the driveway, definitely recommend backing into the driveway so you can pull forward out on the road, otherwise you are blind to the oncoming traffic.
The neighborhood is an older area and has not been kept up well, this house looks nice but I can't say the same for those houses directly around it.
As the description states, the house is nearly in the middle of the island, it took us about 30 minutes to drive to drive to Starfish Point one day and about 30 minutes to drive to Ristorante Pappagallo which is about as far as you can go either direction.

The property is exactly as presented, with an amazing backyard pool, and a few more steps to a great beach. We spent 9 days here, and really enjoyed hanging out at the beach right behind the property and relaxing in the pool with the kids. The island has a lot to offer, so many beautiful beaches to visit, and this house is close to most of them. 7 mile beach is about 25 minutes and we did visit 1 time, it is worth the short drive for sure, just pack everything you need! We did a private boat excursion with Robert Soto, highly recommend this to really enjoy so many cool places in a 4 hour trip.
The property manager is great, very responsive and was in contact with us as needed and quick to respond when I had a question.

The private beach is amazing

Very pleased clean and comfortable
4.7
The house was clean and in good condition. As the houses to either side are empty (and apparently have been for years), the property was very quiet and private.
While technically a public beach, we never saw anyone else on the beach and enjoyed a dip in the pool after being in the ocean.
There was a bit of road noise, but it never bothered us.
Word of advice, though, back into the driveway, makes it much easier to get out.
Thanks for a great stay!

Reviewer Comments:
Home was very clean and neat with a nice walking beach, but in a bad location. The road was at your front door on a curve and extremely difficult to get out. The house had well-equipped kitchen, hair driers, comfortable furniture.

The house is designed for privacy between floors. Had we had another couple join us it would have been nice to enjoy some privacy or gather as a group. The back yard is it’s own oasis should you choose not to leave the property. Between the pool, beach and ocean you had choices as to how to spend your time. Picturesque, peaceful and tranquil is how I would describe the back of the property. I would recommend backing a car into the driveway as to give better visibility when wanting to pull out into traffic but overall the property was perfect for our stay.
4.7
Very nice secluded private pool and beach area. Only down side was very close to road with lots of road noise. Would stay again!
4.7
The house is lovely but the location was undesirable for our needs. Food, shopping, dining is a long drive away. The beach was not pleasent at the time. Lots of seaweed made the water murkey. The beach was covered in dead seaweed. Rum Point was a huge disappointment. Nothing like we saw 12 years ago. All built up w vacation condos and there is hardly any beach left due to erosion and the water was brown with dead seaweed. 12 years ago it was a big beautiful beach and electric blue water. Now only in my memories. Beach erosion is a big problem on many of the beaches now. Be sure to check out satellite images of where you plan to stay.
The host was very accomodating in finding us a new place, which saved the vacation.
When you do go be sure to do tbe Sunday brunch at the Marriott. Dress up. Its spectacular.
We found the "Public Beach" on the west side the nicest beach

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at Serenity Sands. The house is located in a residential (and less touristy) part of Grand Cayman but is still located near restaurants and grocery shopping. The drive into Georgetown is about 25 minutes. Serenity Sands is located on a busy street, but we adjusted to the traffic noise except for an occasional loud truck. Similarly, we were not bothered by the occasional rooster crowing.Serenity Sands is surprisingly spacious with comfortable furniture. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the check-in was very easy. The house manager, Penni, was very responsive to my occasional calls with questions. The pool was cloudy when we arrived but the pool maintenance people took care of that issue. We loved the pool area which is bordered by rocks and lush foliage and palm trees, which helped to create an oasis atmosphere. The pool is small but worked well for our small group. We loved the direct access to the beach. The beach has dried seaweed on it and you have to walk through seagrass to get to clear spots only 5-10 yards away. For most of the week, we were the only people on the beach. We would definitely stay at Serenity Sands again.

Amazing experience and world class accommodations is what awaited for us in Cayman. Penny was first class in helping us arrive and get situated.

What a lovely home for our family vacation! Private beach, private pool that was nice and warm. Incredible views. Clean and centrally located to both ends of the island. This was a perfect location for our little family getaway!
4.7
This is a perfect place if you don’t want to stay in a very touristy area and want both access to a pool and a very quiet beach. The house was clean and was stocked with what we needed in the kitchen. We rented a car to get to our tours and the restaurants we wanted to try and most things were only about 20 minutes away. You are in walking distance of a bakery and a YUMMY seafood restaurant (The Grape Tree). The Czech Inn is another great restaurant that is a very short distance away.
We spoke to Penni and she is so great with lots of info about the island that added to our trip.
As far as the other reviews, yes there are roosters that are chatty, but they are everywhere on the island. When we went to get a massage at the Marriott, they had roosters crowing there too. If you can’t have a sense of humor about the wild chickens, then Grand Cayman might not be for you. The house is on a busy road, but we really could just tune it out. Lastly, Penni is in the process of updating the pool furniture. Four new lounge chairs arrived our first day that were just perfect!!!
If you are looking for a quiet getaway with a peaceful beach that allows you to travel out to different places on the island, this is the place for you!!! We would definitely stay there again. Just came back home last night and we miss it already!!!

We stayed at Serenity Sands for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! The pool and private beach were exactly what we wanted for a bit a bit of privacy and convenience. The house is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay! There were outdoor loungers but one of the two were broken so we used the Adirondack chairs mostly. The communication was easy and we always received a prompt response to any questions we had. Absolutely would recommend Grand Cayman Villas for anyone planning to stay on the island.
As a sidenote: we would recommend renting a car. We tried to use the public bus system to get around the island, but it is extremely irregular, and does not run in the evenings. Everyone is super helpful and friendly on the island and the driving was very straightforward.
4.7
It was an amazing week in Grand Cayman and the house was just about what we expected except for a few things.
The backyard was absolutely paradise and once you were back there, your worries melted away. We were easily able to relax and forget about the world, including the front of the house. The beach furniture and patio furniture was a little run down but it was fine. The beach was very private with virtually nobody around except for a few walkers and an occasional snorkeler. Snorkeling was good but the sea grass makes it a little intimidating if you’re not experienced. The water was crystal clear and warm with pockets of sand where you could go in to cool off.
The inside of the house was perfect. It was very clean and the option to separate upstairs from downstairs, is very convenient. Nothing bad to say about the interior.
The road out front is extremely busy and loud. Trucks up and down the busy road early in the morning because there’s a transfer station down the street. The neighborhood is somewhat run down and unappealing. Just down the road, the public beach and gas station drew locals after dark, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, and gave a feeling of uneasiness. Occasionally there would be people lingering around the road in front of the house as well. Might just be a little paranoid but the hotel area near 7 mile beach wasn’t like that at all, from what we could see.
All in all, it was a great vacation and we’d probably stay there again. The price wasn’t too bad in comparison and we loved having our own piece of paradise in the backyard.
If you didn’t know, chickens and roosters are very prevalent around the island and can be clearly heard at all hours of the day and night so bring earplugs.

I rarely leave reviews and I hesitate to leave one here because I’d like to keep this hidden gem all to ourselves! We usually stay on 7 Mile, but decided to change it up and we are so glad we did. This place worked perfectly for my husband and I and our teenage boys. Each level has a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom so we all felt we had enough space. It’s a great location between 7 Mile and Rum Point. Grocery and restaurants nearby. Go to The Czech Inn!!!!! The beach and pool area are private and very conducive for relaxation. We can’t wait to go back!!!

Would Stay Here Again
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and the property was as advertised -- very clean, separate bedroom areas for privacy, well appointed. We prefer to stay closer to 7-mile beach but were not disappointed with this location. Only negatives were road noise as the house is right on the street, and that blasted rooster that crowed every night.

Great Get Away!
This was our first time renting a house on a vacation and it was a great experience. We loved having our own space. The location was perfect as it was in the middle of the island. The house was right on the beach and we loved that we could sit by the water or take a nice stroll on the beach. We didn’t swim much at the beach in front of the property because of the sea grass which our 11 year old didn’t like, but my husband said the snorkeling was great- some of the best he’s done. Mostly swam at Seven Mike Beach which was about 30 minutes away. We loved having the pool and patio to eat on our lounge around on. Overall the house was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We felt right at home while we were there and were sad to leave. We would definitely stay there again.

January 2020 Stay
We stayed in Bodden town which was a great central area to go to 7 mile and Rum point. The beach was nice and Spott beach was very close by (the one with all the sea turtles). The house was clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The back yard opened directly to the beach which was great. Someone came a cleaned the pool and we felt well taken care of. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Private
Private beach away from the crowds. Could use a few fixes to things here and there but overall a nice place to stay.
4.7
This was a beautiful property. Everything was just as we expected with the house, exactly what we were looking for. The outside was way more than we could have ever imagined! It was gorgeous! The seaweed was pretty heavy but there were plenty of clear spots perfect for some great snorkeling. The reef is close enough to snorkel every day. This was a bucket list trip for us and I can't wait to go back. We were never able to get in touch with the property manager Penni, but we were able to communicate with the management company when we had questions. The land line did not work (which would have been convenient for making reservations) and the cell phone left on the desk when we came in did not have enough data to place a call or send a text.
Before we left I had read several places/sites not to bring any food with you, just get it there, however I wish that we had brought a few things with us. We went to the grocery store the first day & found everything to be at least double what it would have been at home. If you can bring it with you I recommend that you do. Our grocery bill for the 5 days we were there (mostly snacks & breakfast foods) was just under $300.
What we did: The Bioluminescence tour w/ The Sweet Spot, it was a fun boat ride and it was a very cool experience. It was like swimming in a black pool full of glitter. Not recommending it if you do not plan on getting into the water, but if you do get in depending on the group you are with you will run a good chance of getting stung by jellyfish. It was about $55 pp, the crew was great & we had fun, but it is not for everyone. We worked with the Mike @ the Lobster Pot dive shop. We did a "discovery dive" for my daughter (17), I did a tag along reef dive, & my husband & son (14) did the North Wall dive. All were AMAZING!! We also rented snorkel, fins & masks for the week from them ($15 pp per day). We went to Sting Ray Sandbar w/Dexter & Fantasea tours ($40 pp) it was an AMAZING DAY! We drove to Starfish point & stayed there for a few hours on our own, be prepared for crowds but well worth it. Da Fish Shack, The Lobster Pot restaurant, Rackam's & Coconut Joe's are all great restaurants. Don't waste your time with Rum Point, it was very $ & dirty compared to the rest of the island. Please don't miss the chance to visit 7 mile beach there are tons of public beach accesses along the main road, you will understand why it is listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Great property!
Absolutely enjoyed my stay. The island is so beautiful the the house is on a great piece of property. You can enjoy a nice dip in the pool or the ocean and the outdoor space is all so great. I loved laying in the hammock or just lounging in the multiple seating areas in the yard. The house was great also, the only thing was the light situation was a little complicated to figure out. But overall, great house and amazing property!

We loved our stay at Serenity Sands. The location is perfect for those wanting to stay away from the busier 7 mile beach area, but close enough to grocery & liquor stores or a drive into Georgetown for the shopping, restaurants, & larger beaches. I recommend renting a car. The island has so much to see but it's small enough to get anywhere within 30 minutes or so. The house was perfect for us & the couple we traveled with, having a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom & sitting room upstairs AND downstairs. We each had our separate space when needed. The back garden, beach & pool area is so beautiful! You follow the path to the beach & find a nook with a couch & chairs, a bit farther down another nook with chairs with umbrella and another area farther with a hammock and then the beautiful sea. You can walk for miles. Bodden Town Rd can be busy but I expect that any coastal road would be. We found the beds to be super comfy & plenty of closet space with a safe. Very clean & well cared for home. The wi-fi can be sporadic but I understand it's typical for the island. We did the typical touristy things, Stingray City, Rum Point, Starfish Point( a must visit) but also visited the North side of the Island where the sea is so calm. There're are many smaller beaches with shade trees close to the house but recommend snorkeling Smith's Cove especially if you have young ones along & Cemetary Beach near Georgetown on 7 mile also offers a beautiful beach with shade trees. I could go on & on with so much to see & do but when the day was done returning to Serenity Sands with steaks for grilling & a pasta salad from Hurley's (phenomenal deli) & a cocktail (or 2 or 3) was perfection! Thank you for sharing your home with us & making our visit to Cayman sooo awesome! No doubt about it, we'll be back!

We had a very relaxing time and I enjoyed the house very much . The private beach was the best.

Amazing vacation!
We spent a week here on this beautiful island and stayed at serenity Sands. We have two young children and could not have chosen a better place to stay. It was so amazing to be able to get up in the morning, make a coffee and walk to the beach to watch the sun rise. We all enjoyed the days playing on the beach, swimming and kayaking. The property itself was immaculate, clean and very comfortable. The back yard was everything you can ask for equipped with a BBQ, small pool, multiple areas where you can just lie down and relax and last but not least the beautiful ocean and private beach. Would revisit again in a heartbeat!
4.7
beautiful setting
We just got back from serenity sands. Had a great trip. Super clean and friendly island! Bodden town is the quiet side of the island. We loved the house and beach area, very secluded. We did not like how close the house was to the road. Bad! Could not see to get out of driveway, on to the road. Very dangerous. For that reason , we would not rent the home again. Maybe if the neighbor's bushes were trimmed back, you could see. To bad because such a lovely back yard and ocean front.
4.7
Beautiful property conveniently located
The home was clearly built by an owner because it was done extremely well and with thought and care. It is ideal for two couples and offers an unusual amount of privacy with essentially two full and independent apartments in a single home. When we were in the two apartments separately, we could not hear a single thing from the couple traveling with us and their experience was the same. The furniture is comfortable and the decorations tasteful. The backyard and property is lovely. I could hear the busy road, particularly in bed in the upstairs apartment because the bed is located in a nook directly under a window. But I still slept well after a busy day on the island. Water pressure, linens, mattresses, etc. were all comfortable. I recommend the property manager make a small book of instructions and information to leave in the house. Add information based on the various questions or concerns different customers have with items such as: if leaving dishes in the dishwasher with the washer turned on as we check out is okay or not. The phone on the wall in the kitchen does not work and we should use only the cell phone in the foyer (and how to use it). What number to dial in an emergency., etc.

Shangri-La in Bodden Town
The overall 'cool' factor of this property is evident inside and out. 2 full suites - one upstairs and one down - makes this property so unique. The outdoors areas from the pool to the grill area to the seating in the sea grapes to the coconut tree hammock give you so much opportunity to enjoy the outside - and that's before we even mention the beach and snorkeling! The minor problem we had with hot water was addressed quickly by the management. My whole party said that they would come back to this place again and again.

January 2019 Stay
Loved this place! This was a couple things that were not up to par, like path lights didn’t work, beach was covered with 6 inches of seaweed and garbage. Called Penni about the beach and she sent people right over to clean it. Would stay here again if I was to go in the next 2 years, after that I’m sure it’s going to built up too much. Seven mile beach and George Town has grown so much since I’ve been there.
4.7
Great House
Really enjoyed the proximity to Rum Point. Very comfortable house - perfect for a small family of 4.

Lovely villa in Bodden Town
Nice property with a great backyard and path down to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
4.7
Very nice house, has everything you will need.
House was very clean and had all the amenities you could need. They even had sunscreen and a cell phone for making local calls! The hammock and pool were very relaxing and enjoyable. I liked that it was centrally located on the island so it was easy to explore everything. If we had any issues the property manager had someone there to check it out the next day.
4.7
Amazing perfect place for a romantic getaway or just a place to relax !
Thank you so much house was beautiful we enjoyed our stay will definitely be back we’ve never been to the island before but this place and all its amenities was home away from home thank you so much !

Perfect Location to Unwind and Relax in Private Setting
We stayed at this bungalow after 8 days in a luxury condo on seven mile Beach. Nice change away from the crowds and private beach setting was just what we needed. The bungalow is rustic and could use some updates but overall we enjoyed our stay, especially taking in the local restaurants which are much more reasonably priced than Seven mile Beach. Would stay again!

Perfect
Great getaway. Clean and good amenities (we used the grill several times). Pool and private beach access was superb. Short drive to all the sites, but far from the crowds. The road is busy, but it's not noticeable inside or in the backyard.
The backyard is what sells this place, it was fantastic.
Cayman Villas was great. Will use their properties the next time we return.
4.7
Amazing location for snorkeling!
The property was beautifully landscaped and equipped with everything we needed.
