If your looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday this is it. Really the only complaint is isolation about a 11 mile drive to town although there is a small store/ restaurant a mile or so further up the road catering to mostly locals, they do have the basics. Molokai is basically a rural like setting, just mom and pop shops, so the prices in the stores reflect that. The resort offers a nice atmosphere with friendly people.

Very, very quiet. So beautiful to have coffee and a cocktail looking over the ocean. Condo is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. Bed was comfortable. Pool was lovely and also very quiet.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The condo is very comfortable, clean and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking. The views are amazing from the lanai! We would take naps on the long chair on the lanai and if you’re up early enough you can see the sunrise from the lanai to the left. When we return to Molokai, we definitely would stay here again. Thanks for your hospitality, Amanda!

Can’t ask for a better view and location. Only 13 miles from Kaunakakai. Our host Amanda was a great communicator and it was a pleasure working with her.

We had a super enjoyable stay at Amanda and Terry’s beautiful condo. Amanda is a great communicator, she gave us all the information we needed for our stay. The condo is very well equipped, everything we needed was already there! It was clean, comfortable and came with a killer view that let us watch the whales while we sipped our morning coffee. We’ll be back!

We are lucky to call Kauai home and had a wonderful island-hop Christmas getaway to Molokai. Great condo! Daily sunrise AND sunset! SO many whales!!! Loved being out of “town”! Highly recommend the snorkel trip with Molokai Fish & Dive. A million thumbs up! Thank you!

Very nice property. It lived up to the description perfectly. Very well stocked. Overall, Wavecrest is smaller than I expected, but in a good way! The view was excellent from the front or the back.

We stayed in this Wavecrest property on our first trip to Molokai; the owners were incredibly communicative, providing lots of welcoming and helpful information prior to arrival. During our stay, the owners were accessible when needed, and provided a helpful binder of information about the condo and the surrounding area. The 2nd story condo is very clean and well-appointed, but the view is the absolute most amazing thing about this location - open the slider to the private lanai, and walk out to the ocean-front view which includes the islands of Maui and Lanai across the Pailolo and Kalohi Channels. Incredibly impressive! And we've never seen rainbows quite like the ones we saw here after the late afternoon rains. The grounds are well-kept, with barbecues and a pool, and a nice private beach area. Highly recommend this property!

So peaceful
This is an amazing place to stay, especially if you are looking for quiet and relaxation. We highly recommend the Halawa valley hike with Greg, it was an incredible day and we learned a lot. We also really enjoyed George Murphy beach. The view from the condo is incredible, one of the best I have seen anywhere in Hawaii and I have traveled on all the other islands many times. Come here if you are looking to truly relax, and do not mind the lack of city conveniences on Molokai. We did not want to leave. We are glad we finally got to experience this place.. We had originally planned this trip for May 2020, and had to cancel for Covid. Amanda was wonderful about it and gave us a full refund. So glad we were able to make it work now.

Calm and relaxing
Our stay was lovely. Wavecrest is a quiet complex in a great area, with beautiful views of Maui and Lanai right outside your window. The place was clean, the internet was fast and reliable for us both as we worked from home as well (note we had great weather the whole time and it wasn’t very windy). We were very happy with our stay on Molokai and Amanda was very communicative to assist with anything we needed, though we didn’t need much!

Wish I Could Give It 6 Stars
I want to echo all of the other wonderful things said about this property in the other reviews. The view from the lanai is so incredible that you will be tempted to stay all day. Sunrises with stunning colors. Sunsets literally steps away with the same. Nights with stars so bright and close you feel you could touch them. The view from the pool and nicely appointed, large, open air cabana building are the same. I liked being able to move from the sun at the pool to the shade of the cabana and still feel I was outside at the edge of the ocean. The year-round residents of the complex are a warm and welcoming group who organized a Christmas singalong and caroling. Check in was seamless. The unit was spotless. The kitchen is modern and had everything that this working chef needed to make great meals. Amanda was a terrific host, immediately responding to the only issue I had, with the internet. She was immediately on the phone with the provider (who embarrassingly for me determined that I had not turned on the power to the WiFi.) Amanda provides a lengthy list of things to do, places to go and restaurant recommendations. I would add: 1. the ribs in guava bar b que sauce at for dinner at the Cookhouse; 2. fresh beef from the island that can be purchased at the Molokai Livestock Cooperative (one of the best cuts of meat I've ever had, at a very good price); 3. Ahi Poke Bowl at Paddlers Inn. As you will read, Molokai is not for everyone. But it's rural, remote lifestyle protects an outrageously gorgeous countryside and a relaxed way of life. It was the perfect place to recharge after a long year. The trip and this property rank among the top of the many places I've been. I will be going back.

Amazing!
Amanda was so helpful and awesome leading up to our stay at Wavecrest! I had lots of questions about getting around the island and where to get items and she always responded promptly to my email and answered all my questions. The condo was clean, bright and airy and very nice. We spent every morning on the lanai drinking coffee and it was beautiful and perfect! We had an amazing stay!

Nicely furnished, phenomenal views, fantastic overall value
Overall experience: Great, communication from owner outstanding. We were extremely pleased with the quality and value of this stay. Compared to scores of places we’ve stayed all over Hawaii, this ranked in the top 5% for quality, #1 for overall value for $$ spent.
Location: Outstanding
Kitchen: fully equipped plus blender, crockpot, coffee grinder, tons of glassware
Bath: modern feel and good hot water in cool shower, soft-close toilet seat, loud fan
Bed: Comfortable, noisy with louvers open (next to parking lot) ceiling fan, no AC
Furnishings: Nice, comfortable, ample blankets, nice cooler, chairs, ample towels
Views: Beautiful – 2 islands plus lots of whales (in season)
Pluses: Location, Views of both sunrise and sunset (edge of property, but still…) incl Lanai from your lanai!, Furnishings & Kitchen, Pool & Cabana/bbq area for relaxation & light computer duty, nice TV/audio system & Fast Wifi, large DVD collection
Minuses: Beach – nice to look at but a mud-flat, unswimmable, Beaches in general on Molokai often don’t make it easy to swim, but gorgeous to look at, sit on for sure.
Distance from stores, Laundry - must buy soap (none in our unit) but takes cards.
Top Tips:
•Murphy’s Beach mile marker 20 for the views & sand, maybe swimming at high tide or snorkeling (bring water shoes and maybe a rash guard – shallow)
•Halawa Valley. Take your time getting there and back, & stay awhile. Less than an hour drive each way and gorgeous…similar to West Maui loop. Just park by the picnic tables, walk out on the beach and the burial ground, enjoy one of the most beautiful settings ANYWHERE in Hawaii. Oh, and the views...
•Kalaupapa Lookout – with Mule Ride problems (washout) only way to see it without spending $200 each to fly in or hike down.
•“Molokai” movie (story of Father Damien and Hansen’s Disease (leprosy) ‘inmates’ forced to live out their lives there in the 1800’s-into 1900’s.) It’s in the condo’s DVD selection. Does accurate job of describing what happened there & how incredible (and yet ordinary in a wonderful way) Father Damien was. Also, The Descendants (in the DVD collection as well) is fun, moving, with a very fair perspective of Hawaiian history, development vs. beauty, and the trust system in place .
• Bring/buy your own food - quickly. Restaurants on this island are few, quality and experience at most is so-so. Exception is Dave’s Ice Cream in Kaunakaki – which is outstanding. New liquor store open Sun!

Amazing Unit
Amanda's condo was amazing. It was very clean and comfortable. The view of the deck was stunning. We saw the whales out there a couple times. Loved having our coffee and breakfast out there. The bed was very comfortable. My favorite part was the combination rain spout/ waterfall shower. Highly recommend it to any future vacationer and we would definitely stay again.

Perfect place to recharge and relax
Molokai in general, and Amanda's condo specifically -- was the perfect place to relax and recharge my very weak batteries. The condo has all the amenities and is located in the BEST spot on the property. I did see whales from the lanai (balcony) -- tho, truth be told, a whale-watching tour will get you closer and is worth the $75 cost.
There's no AC in these units, but you do NOT need it; windows are perfectly located such that they provide great cross-breezes. The kitchen is fully equipped and I cooked real meals most nights -- very easy. As is often the case, the frig already has some leftover items -- mostly condiment-y stuff -- so check that out before you shop.
Neighbors are friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful; laundry is super convenient (machines now use credit cards as well as take quarters). You can see sunrises off the balcony (if you're up that early) given the eastern exposure, and sunsets if you go downstairs to the grass and sit on one of the benches they have for sunset-watching. Lovely!
This condo -- IMHO -- is perfectly located. Not too far from the main town where you'll do your shopping, and then also close to east-end beaches and the amazing Halawa Valley. Definitely do the Cultural Tour with the Solotario family. And then, for jaunts to the west and north sides of the island, it's a little longer drive, but it's all so beautiful that it doesn't feel far.
The entire island is crazy-safe (big city gal here)...never locked my car doors, even with all my stuff inside. And apparently, it's better not to, since there is no locksmith on the island anyway. :-) Folks are friendly and helpful. Definitely take the time to ask questions and listen to their stories.
Last -- Amanda was a super long-distance host. She had lots of info about the condo and the island and was always super responsive in email communications. She was also flexible when I changed my dates slightly at the beginning.
Everything was really pretty much perfect!

Amazing View, Relaxing Stay
This is our second year staying in this condo. It is nicely decorated and very clean. The condo has a nicely updated kitchen and bathroom. It is an oceanfront condo and very relaxing to sit on the lanai and enjoy the ocean and islands view. The view of the sunrise over Maui is beautiful. The owner is easy to work with and responsive to emails. We plan to return to the Wavecrest resort and this condo. Thank you for sharing your Molokai home!

Quiet and Cozy - a perfect escape for those looking for a quiet retreat!
My wife and I had a wonderful time at this ocean front unit. The property is right in front of the ocean and away from the road. If you are looking for a truly relaxing holiday INA quiet island unit, this is your perfect spot!

Beautiful View, Relaxing Island, Old-Time Hawaii
This condo has beautiful, unobstructed views of the islands of Maui and Lanai (and Kahoolawe on a clear day). I enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning from the lanai with my cup of coffee. The owner was great to work with and answered all questions promptly.
The kitchen and the bathroom have been nicely updated with granite countertops and tile floors. There is carpet in the living room and bedroom.
The condo is clean and nicely decorated with a tropical theme.
Wavecrest resort is 13 miles east of the town of Kaunakakai. The grounds at Wavecrest are nicely landscaped and beautiful with tropical flowers and palm trees. There is an oceanfront pool with a large, covered cabana next to it to get out of the sun. The beach out front is not a swimming beach, but there are beautiful beaches at milepost 16 and milepost 20.
Molokai is a quiet, non-touristy island. It is NOT for those who want glitzy, big resorts and nightlife, but it is great for a relaxing, tropical vacation.

Wonderful Condo with an amazing view
We enjoyed a one week stay at Amanda's condo. She was wonderful in every way by providing helpful information on the condo and Molokai in general before our stay. Afterwards, we had a couple of questions which she immediately assisted us with. She is prompt in her response and extremely helpful with anything that may come up.
The condo is furnished very nicely and has all the appliances and kitchen items one might need. The best part however it the view. You can hear the surf all the time. The islands of Maui and Lanai are always visible and the morning sunrise over Maui is spectacular. We set our alarms in the morning just so we wouldn't miss it. We were there in December so the humpback whales had not made their appearance but from what I heard from other tenants was the show put on by the whales during their season of Jan-April is nothing short of spectacular. And you would be able to easily see it from the balcony of the condo. I can't recommend this condo enough. Only one thing wrong with our stay and that was we were only there for 1 week. Next time since we are retired, we are considering on returning for 3-4 weeks. Problem is that Amanda's condo is booked for the time we want next year. My advice is that if you can find a time that she has it available, go for it. You won't regret it.
I haven't said much about Molokai but suffice it to say that we fell in love with the island. It isn't for everyone. If you want night life, fancy restaurants and crowed beaches, this isn't the place for you. It is as I would have imagined Hawaii to be many years ago. It is a a laid back place with a natural beauty that we have found no where else. It is a simple life with simple but delicious places to eat. If you want fancy, then the Hotel Molokai might be the best place to go and it isn't what I would call fancy. T-shirts and shorts are the norm everywhere. Otherwise, do as the locals do....go up to the counter at several small places, order a plate of your favorite and sit on the outside tables provided. Then enjoy! It is truly a magical place and we are already planning an extended stay there.
Thanks Amanda!!
Joe & Joyce...

Feels like my second house!!!
Thank you Amanda for taking care of me a lot. It was so wonderful time to stay the condo. I was really nice to relax and calm. Also it has a good collection of the kitchen utensils which I needed. That is good point for me because I like a cooking that make me more relaxing of in my brain and body and eating with front of the ocean. The condo is very clean and a little bit unique another condos as I know which is very comfortable.
If someone needs just relaxing or forget about everything or shut out from the noises just come there you will be really refreshing!!!
When I come back to Molokai I really would like to come back to there again.\(^o^)/
Thank you again Amanda.

Beautiful grounds, great condo with amazing ocean view.
We loved our two weeks on Molokai. The condo was perfect. One of the nicest we have rented when traveling. It is very close to the water with amazing ocean views. There was a full moon while we were there and we spent hours on the lanai enjoying the moonlight on the water. It was beautiful. Wavecrest was so quiet and peaceful it seemed we were the only people there most of the time. Whether we were going to the beach, exploring the island or preparing meals everything we needed was in the condo. The owners made renting it a breeze. We enjoyed the local talent at the Hotel Molokai and eating a couple of meals there seated next to the water. The burgers and BLTs at Molokai Burgers were good. The pizza and nachos at Pizza Café were great. Really enjoyed the hot bread from the bakery but getting to live oceanfront in a beautiful condo was the best. Would definitely rent this condo again.

If you are looking for quiet, comfortable, with the best ocean view possible, rent this condo. The owners are awesome people to work with. They see it has their responsibility that you enjoy your time in their condo. I would recommend that home to everyone going to Molakai.

The owners were extremely helpful from the time we first inquired about the property and throughout our stay. The pictures on the website even the rainbows are exactly what you will find and the unit was in exellent condition. Wavecrest is a well maintained property and is ideally located for exploring the eastern side of Molokai and for a couple looking for a quiet, relaxing time away this is a a wonderful choice. The owner's recommendations for local activities also proved to be very good. Our only disappointment was that the snorkeling was not as good as we had hoped however for the four days we had to enjoy the eastern side of the island we found plenty of other things to do.

What a fantastic discovery! We've often vacationed in the Hawaiian Islands but our experience at this condo was unbeatable! Incredible Sunrise over Maui and Sunset over Lanai views! The condo is well appointed and graced by refreshing tropical trade winds. One could spend most of the vacation just on the fabulous lanai with the ever changing views of rainbows, twinkling lights of Maui at night, the fish ponds, and the ocean waves. The condo has a super Blue ray TV, DVD, and Home theater sound system. The gas stove is wonderful to cook on and there is an abundance of kitchenwares.. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the pool a refreshing deep blue tile lined retreat! The owner and the condo staff were pleasant and professional.I would definitely recommend this condo for your vacation and Molokai for a relaxing real Aloha experience!
