This is a nice family resort property with good amenities and convenient to all of the local or Orlando convention and amusement park resorts. The most important thing to my stays are cleanliness, a comfortable bed and convenient access to the local attractions. This property meets all of those expectations very well. Just be aware of this is a family resort so the pool areas do tend to attract, a lot of young children, but if that’s not an issue, then I would give this property a very high rating, cost value, exceptional

Love all the amenities available!!!! Forget traditional stays at hotels when visiting Orlando and Disney World, this location holds everything you need to stay entertained when not at the parks. Go relax at the giant tiki hut in the middle of the lake, hammocks fire pits rocking chairs and ambient lights make it a great way to finish the night. Restaurants, bars, bowling alley, paddleboats, and much more. Bring your family or treat your significant other to a gateway to remember.

I had to work in Orlando for the week and was tired of staying in hotels so I tried this resort through Vrbo. I was very impressed with the resort. The suite was very nice with everything I needed. I would recommend this resort highly. Thanks.

I stayed for a week while attending the NPE show at the convention center. Proximity was great. The West Gate property has a great market to purchase groceries, beverages, and just about anything. The onsite restaurant and bar is quite convenient. A morning swim was always enjoyable. Wish I had more time to enjoy the pool!!

Will stay there in the near future

Our room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The resort was great as well. Lots of on site actinities. Only issue was it was a bit crowded. Check in proces on a friday 4pm was hectic. And long waits for restaurants on site. That being said we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

It was fine except for the fact they don't have free wifi and you have to pay if you want wifi. It should be told that the wifi isn't free.

I travel so much for work that it's nice to stay somewhere that's not a "usual" hotel. This stay was exactly that- I had the resort feel vs. the usual cookie cutter of major hotel chains. The room was nicely laid out and we loved the LARGE screened patio with a table and chairs overlooking the pond and pool area. We were able to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from another pool. I loved the in-room jetted tub. My only feedback would be to have a bit more information at check in on when/how room cleaning worked. We weren't sure if/when someone would change linens or bring towels or remove trash (but we also never asked). Would stay again, loved no parking fees!

We love Westgate, stay here every year. But this year noisy neighbors. 1:00 am and loud at 3:00 am. All three nights

The unit and property were wonderful. Everything you need right there. Our host Jake was very responsive. Check in and parking were easy. We’d love to return for a longer stay.

This resort is in a prime location. Close to all of the theme parks and restaurants. The rooms a little outdated, but clean overall. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is so beautiful! The room was very nice and all the staff were so polite and helpful! Next time we come to Orlando we plan to stay at the same place.

We booked to share NYE week with family from Mexico and the United States. The resort worked to get us rooms next to each other. We had a great time!

The room was as described, the bed was comfortable, the jetted tub was wonderful after visiting the parks all day. Our room did appear to have a thermostat issue the last night, temp was set for 70 and continued to read 75, was warm while sleeping. If wasn’t exhausted would have contacted front desk but was too tired to possibly change rooms. Staff was kind and helpful. Would recommend stay and will return myself.

Very difficult to find check-in. The property is massive. You either need to sign up for their loyalty program, or be prepared to pay extra for wi-fi. This is technically disclosed in the listing, but only if you're digging into the fine print. It's not actively disclosed which I thought in the modern day and age of free wi-fi pretty much everywhere was rather deceptive. I also could have done without th cochroach in the bathroom. All-in-all for how "nice" this place looks like it is supposed to be, I probably would have rather stayed at a cheaper hotel and had a better experience.

Our first impression of the room was that it is smaller than it appeared in pictures but it was just the two of us & it turned out to be just right. Fabulous location on a great property! Friendly & helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

Every member of the staff we interacted with were very kind, helpful and fast. The agent at the front desk gave us a complimentary card to access the amenities at the resort that were not part of our booking.
They also offered discounted tickets to the parks if you didn't mind booking a 90-minute tour of the property in which they try to sell you a time share.
We arrived to a very nice and clean room with a balcony and a view to the lake. Our room was in a quiet area, which was a plus for us.
They don't make the rooms everyday but that was fine with us because we prefer less transit into our room and we had extras of everything anyway (from towels to dish detergent) for our short 3-night stay. We didn't need to request anything else.
The resort location was perfect for us since we wanted to be close to International Dr and Universal studios. There is a Walmart and 7-eleven close by and a hospital and doctors' offices next to the resort.
Wi-fi was not complimentary; though it gave us an option for free wi-fi we weren't able to make it work, so we ended up using our hotspot which we actually preferred over public network.
Safe box did not work, but we didn't need it.
All in all, based on our needs and our last minute booking, we were very happy with our room and our stay in general.

the room i booked showed having 2 beds- when I checked in I had one bed and a sofa sleeper. also I didn't know all activities were additional prices- I was under the impression everything was included. we paid $75 to enjoy the water park for 1 hour. because it closed so early

The issues I had with this stay were not the fault of the owner himself. I understand there's management company who is in charge of cleaning thoroughly, check in process etc. Let's begin.
I arrive, the entrance and first immediate impression of the grounds, BEAUTIFUL. Could use some better signage on the service road pointing to the lobby but I found it, no stress there. I park, walk in, and was immediately overwhelmed with the amount of guests/ lines/ length of lines and not sure which to go to, so I find an employee with a tablet and she directed me where I needed to go, which kinda felt vip, whisking me away to a separate area with two people in line separate from the chaos. NOICE. The actual check in: easy peasy, quick, paid my $50 (refundable deposit, which was the quickest refund I've ever received back).
Find the unit which wasn't TOO hard, use your map! (You get at check in)
Unit could have been cleaned better (dust, gnats in the tub) but that was minor. We go to look outside, screen door slams shut behind us, couldn't reopen it. The handle is broken, looks like this happened to someone else also, given that the screen was open a little and I was thankfully able to get back in. Had I not, I would have been angry, since I didn't have my phone, room key, car keys or anything. I would've had to walk all the way to the front with no map, probably get lost, with 2 children in tow.
We went to dinner, where my 2nd guest met me. We get BACK to the resort and here is my biggest complaint
PARKING IS A NON EXISTENT AT NIGHT
If you have children and you check in late and another adult, best bet is to have them take you to the unit, unload the car and kids, then have them drive around in circles for about 20+ minutes, or park in the garage they'll have a golf cart bring them back (not sure if they will pick you up in the morning, my friend just walked). The earlier you arrive the best parking you'll have.
The walk to the water park was tranquil.
The towel lady had neverending towels waiting for you. The wave pool did not have waves, and the half of the tubes became deflated. One bar employee actually acknowledged me after waiting quite a while as the other 3 stood there chatting. At least HE had customer service. I tipped him well. The food hut thing, HORRIBLE customer service but the food and shaved ice was delicious. The lifeguards were the nicest. Check out was a breeze.
I DO recommend staying here just don't expect parking at night.

It’s cheap and near the parks. There is no time share at all. The other reviews that say that are lying for whatever reason. As far as the hotel goes, it was dated, smelled weird, and didn’t offer much, however, I felt safe, it was dirt cheap, the jacuzzi was nice, and it was near Disney. So 5 stars

It was hard to reach desk at times and phone didn’t work but rest of the stay was amazing.

This room was beautiful, exactly like the pics. I noticed a water spot on ceiling but it looked older. In the middle of the second to last night, it started leaking water right next to the king bed within inches of my head. It dripped all night long making a huge mess on the floor. Tried to use a bowl and listening to pinging sound catching it all night. Woke up with a pool next to me on the floor. Contacted both the property manager and the on-site manager…nobody responded to me, I was completely ignored. Had to sleep a second night like this. Thankfully it didn’t start until the end of our trip, but definitely expected better communication and a remedy for a leaking ceiling to occur during our stay…that was extremely frustrating, but the room was otherwise great for us. Communication is key and this property manager still will not respond to me about the leaking ceiling, super disappointed.

We love the property. All around great experience. This was our second time to stay in a unit similar to the one we stayed at this time. We loved this and the views and quietness of it all on our deck.

The property is a little dated and not overly clean. It was a good amount of space for the price. The on-site staff were all terrific. However, several of the amenities described in the listing are inaccurate and the host was slow to respond. When we arrived at the property the front desk had no record of our reservation. Fortunately, I had my confirmation email. While the staff worked to sort things out I tried to contact the host but the number listed does not have a working voicemail. The problem was resolved and we were able to check in. When the host finally returned the call several hours later, I noted the problem with the voicemail and was instructed to use a different phone number. However, when we were unable to access the Internet and I called for help, we found that number also did not have voicemail. When we finally did get Internet access, it was extremely week and not conducive to Zoom meetings making it hard to work from the property. Part of our party was in town for an event at the convention center and the rest planned to attend theme parks. We selected this property in part because it is listed as .04 miles from the convention center (which we thought made it walkable) and listing includes shuttle bus to the amusement parks. Neither of these are true - it is several miles from the convention center and there are no shuttles. Additionally, the water park that is pictured in the listing, on-site work out facilities, and many of the other recreational amenities advertised all cost additional money. And the promise of discounted prices on amusement park tickets is actually a ploy to attend a timeshare presentation.
