I chose the property because it had said a parking permit will be provided. We found out only after I got in touch with Cottages.com that was not happening anymore on the day we got there. We had to drive around for an hour looking for a park some distance away from the apartment then pay for 3 days parking.
There wasn't any soap provided for the showers and each bathroom only had half a toilet roll provided. Little details like the provision of coffee sachets and sugar were lacking.
The apartment was clean and spacious and in a good location.

Loved the cottage! However parking is a real problem and is not a very good start to your holiday. We wasted a lot of time trying to unload bags and then had the hassle of driving round trying to find a parking space anywhere near the property. Luckily we walked everywhere after that but if using the car for the holyday itself, that would have been a big issue. Important-there was NO parking permit as promised! But even if we had a permit there was no space for the car!!
The cottage is really lovely and great for visiting the area-would definitely go again, if parking sorted.

The location of our rental afforded us an acceptable walk to the lake, albeit it, the walk is uphill coming back. We were also close enough (1 mile) to walk to the train station when we departed. That walk is partly flat and hilly.
The home was exactly as we expected it, the pictures provide an accurate representation of the unit.
For those traveling from the U.S., keep in mind that Air Con is not typical in these homes so important to open windows in the early evening to let the heat of the home escape & let the cooler evening air circulate during summer.
The contactless entry was smooth. The key was in the key box when we arrived, the home was clean and ready for our arrival.
During peak holiday times, taxis are hard to come by so book days in advance if you need to be driven.
Water pressure is no issue if people take one shower at a time. For a Windermere rental, this is not unusual and not unexpected so it was of no issue for us.
Thank you to the owner for sharing his/her home.

The accommodation was fantastic, the only thing that this place could do with is a washing machine to enable us to have stayed for longer and an actual parking place, a sticker allowing you to park on certain streets is not suitable when you have small children

Perfect location.
Lots of space we wasn't on top of each other. It was perfect for myself and 5 other girls.
I'm so glad I celebrated my 40th here.
The only downside was we had to come home ?

Club cottage is exceptional.
Club cottage is exceptional. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the comfort and needs of guests. The beds were very comfortable, in spacious bedrooms. The bathrooms are also roomy and modern. The kitchen area is great to cook in whilst chatting etc and provides for a great group dynamic. The TV has Netflix and there was a DAB radio and sound box to connect to. Car parking was a little tricky as the street can get full so it's necessary to keep an eye on things. The staff at Cumbrian Cottages were very helpful and responsive. The cottage is in an excellent location for access to bars, restaurants and all other local amenities. Overall, we had a great stay, the cottage is great to "come home to" after a long day of activities. Brilliant!

Great location, good size property with everything needed for 6 people.
Great location, good size property with everything needed for 6 people. Only down side was parking - permit only for one car meaning that others had to park a distance away from the apartment. Not too much of a problem but you do need to know that beforehand.

This is more of a flat than a cottage and is accessed from a under passage entrance to a commercial yard. The flat / cottage is clean and decorated well throughout and in a convenient location.
The tv did not work on arrival but was promptly replaced. The dishwasher did not work and although reported no one looked at it or offered any apology.
Plug was not working in the bath which made bathing a 1 year old difficult. We informed the staff of this who said they would inform maintenance but did not seem bothered.
Not one to easily complain but felt it was expensive for what we got (didn’t get).
