About this house rental
Welcome to our beautiful home! While surrounded by the beauty and serenity of the Lake Tahoe area, you will have all the amenities, conveniences and connectivity you enjoy at home. The open floor plan great room features an incredible fully equipped chef's kitchen including a Nespresso VertuoLine (we love to cook and are serious about our morning coffee!), a large island with 4 bar stools, a dining table that seats 8, a game table, a gas starter wood fireplace and a 65 inch 4k UHDTV. (Netflix, Amazon prime, Hulu). A custom built artisan 10' shuffleboard table has also been installed for fun indoor activities on those rainy/snowy days. The large deck off the great room has a gas barbecue as well as patio furniture in the summer. High speed WifFi throughout the house. As we have 2 young boys of our own the house is very kid friendly.
Our home is located within a short walk the Donner Downhill ski area (0.2miles) and trails are ½ mile away and in easy walking distance for snowshoeing, hiking and mountain biking. There is an attached 3 car garage and ample driveway parking for additional cars (4) . A mile away are the Trout Creek Recreation Center, Golf Course and driving range/sledding hill.
The Trout Creek Recreation Center offers hot tubs (three of them!), a large swimming pool (summer), a separate lap pool (heated in winter), saunas, fitness center, classes and health spa. Tahoe Donner also has an outstanding tennis center, cross country/equestrian/mountain biking center and a small downhill ski area. There is a private beach for swimming and boating at Donner Lake 3 miles away. The rental includes 2 guest access cards for 4 guests per card to access all amenities including the private Donner Lake Marina (see Tahoe Donner website for current guest pricing information ). These cards are also good for discounts at the golf course, TD adventure center, and downhill ski area. Major ski areas within 30 minutes include Squaw Valley, Northstar, Sugar Bowl and Alpine Meadows. The town of Truckee has unique shops, pubs and dining. Tahoe Donner has its own excellent restaurant at the Golf Course Lodge.
This is our second home that we take great pride in as we also use it monthly to escape the bustle of everyday life. We strive to make this your home away from home as well! Personal touches allow more flexibility and personalized care that some of the professionally managed rentals cannot provide.
This is a mountain home and with that comes the excitement of unpredictable winter weather, (short) power outages, and sometimes highway closure. There will be no refunds due to weather and factors out of our control. We encourage trip insurance or booking an extra night if you want extra buffer around your trip.
Bullfrog hydrotherapy hot tub!
Enjoy a night with family and friends exchanging stories about your day while getting those achy muscles recovered with individualized hydrotherapy jets. This luxurious spa comes equipped with 6 customized JetPaks to elevate the hyrotherapeutic experience- this really is a unique relaxing hot tub experience. (Do note that Tahoe Donner strictly enforces the quiet hours of 10pm-7am)
*** pet rental policy **
We do allow 1 dog per reservation with pre approval only for an additional 200 pet fee. While we love dogs, (our dog still travels everywhere with us) and we have been happy to allow them to be included in family vacations in the past, the unfortunate abuse of this rule with destructive dogs has forced us to be more selective.

This was our second stay at Solene's house and just like the first one, we had a great experience. The location is great as it is close to a few nice golf courses along with many bars/restaurants in Truckee. Our group had a great time and would definitely come back again.

The grandkids enjoyed the lake and swimming pools. Nice relaxing getaway.

The house is very well located and roomy enough for a group. Overall we enjoyed our stay but some people had trouble sleeping in 2 of the rooms because they were so warm and fans were not provided. The kids had a lot of fun with the shuffleboard and the house is well stocked.

We stayed in Truckee for a family reunion. There were two couples and one single. Two of the three master bedrooms were very nice. The third would have been quite tight for a couple but was just fine for a single. Overall the house was very nice and a perfect location for our group.

The shuffleboard game, fireplace, sound system and hot tub are awesome! However, the house itself is dated and not up to my cleanliness standard. The couch desperately needs replacing as the cushions are very stained to the point of being a different color than the frame. The pillows on our bed smelled like body odor and were stained yellow when removing the pillowcases. Spiderwebs were all over the ceiling. Dust collected on the vents. The shower grout was moldy. There were water stains on most of the wood near the front entrance. We rent annually in Tahoe Donner and this was the dirtiest house we have ever rented. It’s such a shame as the house has good bones. It just needs a new couch, new pillows, remodeled bathrooms, new stain and a deep cleaning.

The house was perfect. The 3 primary suites were great for us, our 2 grown kids and their partners. We brought our pup for her first snow trip. The enclosed deck opening to a small metal pen area in the yard was awesome. We were there for back to back atmospheric rivers and being able to just let her out and watch her from inside was a huge plus. The house is high end yet lived in so that you feel at home and comfortable almost immediately. The custom shuffle table and the Wii provided hours of snowed-in fun. The layout of the kitchen and the great room meant everyone could be together but also have enough space to just hang out. The kitchen was well equipped and we made liberal use of the Nespresso coffee maker. The owner was great to work with. There was a small mix up when we arrived but her and her local host were on it in 15 minutes - having a response like that means you can really enjoy your time there! Since we were mostly snowed in, the location, where we could walk to TD Downhill for skiing, and just a very short drive to TD X-country, meant we did not miss out on activities. The hot tub is new and huge and had just been serviced, and is nicely protected but with views of the woods. The fireplace with gas starter meant great fires whenever we wanted. Being able to pull into the garage with interior access was another big plus. Can't wait to come back.

Solene’s home was perfect for our family to spend our Christmas in. Location is amazing and the amenities and rooms were perfect for our family of 5 adults and 2 kids. The home was also perfect for our dog with a deck and enclosed fence. You can walk to Tahoe-Donner and the house was a quick drive to a snow park for our 7 year old niece and downtown and grocery stores are also nearby. Great communication from the owners and loved being able to build fires in the fireplace and use the hot tub on Christmas Day!

This was our first visit to Lake Tahoe and our family had a wonderful time staying here. There was plenty of space and we didn’t have any trouble finding anything needed. We really enjoyed the hot tub and shuffle board and the teens had fun playing video games. We felt comfortable and at home.

Highly recommend this property. It was amazing and I would give it all 5 stars but there is always room for improvement, so 4.5 stars! Very spacious and cozy. We had an amazing Christmas making memories, we didn’t want to leave, great location. Will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic family friendly mountain home. We enjoyed the place and amenities (inside home and in Tahoe-Donner neighborhood) for a weekend celebration with family and close friends. Would stay here again!

Solene’s home is well equipped and spacious. The beds are cozy, the hot tub a godsend and the penned doggy area in the back so thoughtful! Such a relaxing and comfortable home away from home.

We had the best time here with our large family (8 adults and 2 small children). We kept commenting on how large and spacious the home was, with the perfect setup for 4 couples to stay privately and all with their own bathrooms to use. The toys and sleds were a hit with the little ones, and the hot tub and shuffleboard were the favorites among all of the adults. We easily cooked many meals in the large kitchen and spent our evenings playing games (a wonderful selection available at the home!) at the large dining room table. We LOVED the home and the comfortable decor and furniture. With small kids, it is intimidating staying at a place too fancy that you feel like you cannot relax. This home was the perfect combination of comfortable and lived in, but still charming. We enjoyed being walking distance from the ski lodge at Tahoe Donner, and very close to Glacier Hill for the best sledding! We are already looking forward to the next time we can get together and come back here. Also of note: we were coming from a ways away with a baby in tow who would be in need of a midday nap, so we requested an early checkin that was very easily accommodated. We greatly appreciated this!

always great
great location for family ski trip. Close to Tahoe Donner and close enough to Squaw Valley. 3 master bedrooms gives everyone space and privacy. Third time using this property, will be back.

This is our second time staying in this home and it was wonderful! The house is very comfortable with enough room for multiple families to spread out. The hot tub was great to relax in after a day of skiing at Tahoe Donner Ski, which is a minute's drive away or a 10 min walk. The house is well equipped, and even has two pack n plays for littles, lots of sleds for when it snows, firewood for the fireplace, etc. There's plenty of parking in the garage and driveway; we were able to park our three cars comfortably and there was still room for one or two more. The host made it clear to bring extra towels for the hot tub since their's were limited, which we did no problem. The host was very responsive and helpful. All in all it was a wonderful and easy stay. I would highly recommend this house!

Great Place, horrible house keeping
I'm not entirely sure if this particular weekend was an anomaly but upon arrival at the property, there was a laundry list of basic items missing throughout the entire house. First, there were no towels whatsoever throughout the house. We stumbled onto a garbage bag full of very wet towels in an unlocked cupboard that was labeled housekeeping next to the washer and dryer. We washed and dried them all prior to settling in.
Second, there was literally one half of a roll of toilet paper in a house with 3 1/2 bathrooms. Third, there was no hand soap in any bathroom. Fourth, there was one dirty old sponge to wash dishes. Fifth, Batteries in the tv remotes did not work. Ultimately, I went into Truckee that first night and stocked up on these basic supplies to get us through the weekend. Sixth, sliding doors were extremely difficult to slide open and closed. Seventh, The fireplace was full of ash from the previous tenant. Eighth, there were multiple wet bedsheets hanging in a closed closet. My guess is they were washed and simply left to hang dry in the closed closet which was weird. And finally, I raised the question prior to arrival if the hot tub was heated and working properly. The response I received was yes it was. Upon arrival, the hot tub was set to 65 degrees. It took overnight to heat it up which meant we missed a night soaking in the tub. That being said, the following nights it worked great. As I mentioned at the beginning, I'm not sure if the housekeeping just completely dropped the ball or what but in my opinion, if you are renting your property to a customer through VRBO then you are a business owner. Run it like one. No shortcuts. Clearly many shortcuts were taken prior to our arrival which was unfortunate.
After overcoming the first night's shortcomings, our stay was great. There was plenty of room, three-car garage, and our dog was welcome. Would we stay there again, I'm not entirely sure.

We had an amazing time at this property this past weekend. The property manager was very nice and prompt with answering all of my questions prior to our trip. The only difficult part was the main floor patio was covered in snow and ice about 3 weeks high. It made it challenging to get into the backyard to play especially with an infant and a 3 year old, but we made it work. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Highly recommend great property
This property was perfect for our group! The kids really enjoyed the bunkbed room, entertainment center and the outside play area with plenty of snow. The adults enjoyed the hot tub (very nice modern hot tub) and the well-appointed kitchen and dining area. There was a small issue with the sink that the manager and owner had repaired immediately. Would definitely rent again! Thanks for the great time and excellent accommodations!

Family Getaway
We are so happy to have found this property! With 3 boys 8-10 years, it had all the activities they loved. The snow outside, making a sled run, shuffleboard inside, games and having the snow park so close made everyone have a great time.
Hope to be back next year!

Great house
Very nice and spacious house. We enjoyed our stay.

Very spacious home so conveniently located next to the Tahoe Donner Ski resort and only 4 miles to grocery and restaurants. Great space to entertain our kids of varying ages. With an abundance of snow, we could have spent our entire trip playing in the backyard building forts, sliding down the hill and snowball fighting. To relax in a magnificent hot tub and some shuffleboard was a bonus. Three days on the snow hill was great for us novice skiers. One day at the snowplay with guest pass discount was great.

We arrived a day late and the power was out the first five minutes of our stay. We couldn’t open the garage door to go buy groceries so we manually opened the garage door. A storm came in a few days later and the driveway plowing service did not plow the driveway for three days so we could not drive anywhere. When I called and asked about it the property manager said the plowing service told her it didn’t snow enough. It was hard to even walk through. The power on the house was out for over another 24 hours Christmas Eve so we lit the fire to try to warm the home. The wood they provided was damp so the house was very smoky. The internet doesn’t work most days as well and doesn’t reset well to watch TV. The home had no washcloths and when I asked the property manager she said there were a few in a closet but I never found them. We lit the only three candles in the home and one flashlight so we wouldn’t be in the complete dark. To power went out again three times on Saturday so we decided to leave a day early since we didn’t want to be in the dark and cold again. We shoveled ourselves out of the driveway a day early to leave since it wasn’t plowed again. It was only plowed once the whole stay the day before. It needs daily plowing with the foot or so coming down each day because of the high elevation. The pet smell is very strong so we had to take Benadryl to make it through. Make sure no one stays here with any pet allergies or sensitivities or anyone who needs heat, tv or internet.
