The place was set with all necessities and had clear instructions for the various amenities like parking, laundry, light and fan operation, etc.

Was very easy to book and stay in contact with the owner. Easy check-in and check out. Very quiet and clean, with plenty of room for a family of 4. Great location, with quick access to many things in and around town. Would highly recommend!

Lively area. Close to many things. Apartment could use a bit of updating

Highly recommend. Convenient location to sites, stores and downtown.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in July to attend the Skaneateles Antique and Classic Boat show. Dene's apartment is on the second floor of a late 19th century house with lots of character. The check-in instructions were clear and concise and we had no trouble finding the property or where to park. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook breakfast each morning. We were especially excited to find a dish pan under the kitchen sink and nightlights around the apartment (as these features have been missing in other properties we rented). The bedroom located off the kitchen had the most comfortable mattress too. The tenants downstairs were quiet and we did not hear them during our stay. If we are in the area again, we would not hestiate to stay here again! Thanks Dene!

When we entered the apartment, we noticed that housekeeping had not cleaned after the previous tenants had left. Of course, after being on the road for 6 hours, paying for a cleaning fee, and handling my tired 8 year old daughter, we were pretty upset. How did this happen? The apartment and Dene had great reviews and no one complained of uncleanliness. I messaged Dene after cleaning up, telling her we were very disappointed. Dene messaged me back and called my cell within 30 minutes of my complaint. She was very apologetic and explained there had been a mix up with housekeeping. She offered to make it right by refunding our cleaning fee (fair/good customer service) and buying us dinner that night (above and beyond customer service)! Dene suggested a nice, waterfront restaurant in Skaneateles. When we arrived, a gift certificate was waiting at the front desk under my name and the generous amount more than covered what a dinner for 2 adults and 1 child needed. We had a delicious dinner and then walked to the dock to watch the water and sunset. Much to our delight, a rainbow was in the sky! We took pictures and dipped our toes in the lake. What a lovely and picturesque scene we will always remember! Thank you Dene for being a fabulous host, treating us to a wonderful meal, and helping us make a family memory. You more than made up for the housekeeping mix-up and increased our enjoyment of our trip to boot!

Very spacious, clean upper apartment. Quaint older home with history. We enjoyed our stay in the area. Easy check in and out and quick responses from host.

This was a great location if you are looking to stay in the FingerLakes region. Dene was great to work with. Excellent communication. Check in was a breeze. The place was much larger than we respected and super clean. It was easy to get around town from this location. The beds were very comfortable too. Looking forward to staying there again sometime.

This property has great common areas. Dining room is nice for 4 people, and living room is very comfortable for 4 people

This was the second year my friend and I rented this apartment for our weekend away. As before, the location is central to so many places in Auburn and has enough space for cooking, playing board games, & chilling.

Nice 2 bedroom upstairs apartment with comfortable beds and full kitchen and ROKU TV. A couple of blocks from downtown Auburn, NY!

Was just what we were looking for. Close enough to walk downtown, nice and spacious, lots of light. Enjoyed the front porch every morning for coffee and every evening for wine. Had everything we needed.

We were in Auburn to help a sibling who is caring for our aging Mom. The location was perfect for us, and the apartment was cozy and very well equipped. You can tell that the host has really given some thought to how the space will be used - extension cords, etc. in all the right places for phones/computers, very clear instructions for checking in and out, and nicely equipped kitchen. We were very comfortable and would definitely stay again.

Very good location, quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, living room, kitchen had everything we needed. We would stay again.

The flat was as described and good value. Beds were comfortable and it was nice to have a kitchen. We stayed for a couple nights and spent time in Skaneateles and Watkins Glen. Skaneateles was an easy 10-15 minute drive. Watkins Glen was a 75 minute drive.

Lovely and convenient to everything. My group went for a wine weekend and we were so pleased with the accommodations. This flat had everything we needed plus extras! The best part was the amazing mattresses. So many rentals have uncomfortable beds but these were so comfortable. We plan on making this a yearly trip.

This was our first trip to the Finger Lakes. We wanted a place to allow us to go to a variety of lakes. This fit the bill. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. I appreciated having a kitchen to cook breakfast before we headed out daily on our excursions. The bed was also comfortable which is not always the case. The location is in near downtown Auburn. Convenient.

This was a handy location and walkable to the town center. Living room and dining room were larger than I expected

My friends and I stayed here for two nights, and we absolutely loved it! It is very spacious, welcoming, and private, with a lovely porch. The owner's directions were clear and accurate, and the location is an easy 10-minute drive from downtown Skaneateles. I would definitely stay here again--excellent choice!

Great alternative to expensive lodgings in Skaneateles.

This apartment is as adorable as the photos look and it’s in an excellent central location. A variety of stores and restaurants are a short drive away, but the neighborhood is still quiet.
I booked the space for a weekend trip with my best friend. We found the apartment comfortable and suited well to our needs. We especially appreciated the kitchen having many cooking utensils and pans!

Oh my gosh what a lovely apartment. Clean, roomy, very well stocked for every need. Especially liked the gate at the top of the stairs so there were no middle of the night tumbles. Property owner was very quick to answer any questions we had. We let friends and family know how great a place it is. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

weekend off campus
We rented this apartment for a weekend to visit our daughter who is a college student in the area. She stayed with us, and there was plenty of space and good wifi for her to do school work. Basic needs for cooking are in the kitchen, comfortable and clean beds.
Location is a short drive from wineries, museums and other Central NY attractions. Good selection of restaurants in town, though you should check their closing times--we were surprised at how early some closed on Friday and Saturday nights.
Owner was easily accessible and arrangements were convenient.
Overall a great stay!

mixed review
Great location and value for dollar spent. The space is very large and the internet very fast so working while staying here is easy. The owner is a wonderful person and very helpful.
The down side is the need for some updates due to wear and a deep cleaning that every house needs now and then. The property is a little oddly divided but this is because It is a historic home .

Great stay
Happy with the rental. More then enough room for the 3 guests in my party. Loved the front balcony area. Very spacious and clean. Very quiet with a spiratic church bell from across the street. Great communication from host. Def will stay again for our yearly Fingerlakes wine tours. Thx Dene

There were pluses and minuses for this place.
Pluses:
Good location, safe area, great porch, good wifi, decent beds
It was easy to walk to restaurants, Wegman’s (grocery), wine store, Hoopes Park and other Historical sites. There was a surprising amount of traffic on the street but bedrooms were in back so not a problem.
Minuses:
Steps were steep so if have difficulty, you might have a problem. Despite the listing saying there was a washer/dryer, there was not a washer. Or at least we could find it. Also, it said there was an iron/board. There was a board but no iron. Again, we could not find it and we looked in every closet and cabinet and drawer. While that might not be an issue for short trips, we were on a three week trip and these items would have helped.
Although there were cheap plastic mini-blinds on all the windows, there were no curtains. Not a problem except in the bedrooms which were bright as soon as the sun came up. While we don’t sleep really late, we like to sleep a little later than sun up.
Finally, the place, while certainly not dirty, was really “worn”. It just felt shabby.
Having said this, it was not a bad stay. Just not sure I can fully recommend. Not as good as most other places we have used on VRBO.

Base to explore to the region
The house is fine, walking distance to the centre, neighborhood itself was okay. But for all the touristy things you would need to get in the car. We visited Skaneateles and did a day trip to Niagara falls, there was a lot more to explore in the area, we just didn't have the time.
The lay out of the apartment was a bit awkward with our small children: one bedroom of the kitchen and one of the living area. We made it work though.

Great experience!
Immaculate, fully furnished and comfortable. Check in was seamless and Dean was immediately responsive to any questions we had. Will definitely book this again.

This historic home has a family vibe, like you're visiting a beloved great aunt! All old houses are quirky in their own ways. The bedrooms are narrow but clean with an AC in each one. The front section - LR, DR, office area - is nicely decorated and airy. And the front balcony is charming. The back half of the house isn't quite as bright and cheerful, though fully functional, neat, and clean. The kitchen is huge and well stocked with accessories. And the beds are new and comfortable. We especially appreciated being able to spread out - it really is spacious. One side note: there is an old enclosed back stairway with weathered flooring where you put trash and recycling. I would discourage children from using that part of the apartment.
NOTE: this is a 2nd floor apartment with fairly steep stairs so if you have mobility issues, this place is probably not for you.

Nice property that was very near where we needed to be for the weekend. We will return for the convenience alone.
There were not enough towels (we found more), no dish towels (did not find any) and we could have used more towel hooks or a drying clothes bar. The trash disposal at the end of our stay was confusing, and we couldn't find more trash bags. The place was tidy and spacious. Everything you need and a porch for morning coffee.

Really liked the ambiance in the 2 street side room. Must have been the amount of windows. Auburn isn't a party town or anything but the affordability of the apartment and location of the town made it a good spot to explore the Finger Lakes area and even Lake Ontario. I think windows could be updated in the apartment but overall we had a good and relaxing time. Thanks.

My family and I had a pleasant 2-night stay in this property. This place is very cozy, spacious and well-equipped. The check in & check out process was easy and straightforward. The location is very convenient, you can pretty much head to anywhere within 5-15 mins. There’s also a casino in nearby town in Waterloo, which is about 30mins away. Will definitely book this place again whenever visiting Auburn. Highly recommended.
