The home was perfect for our group. Our 2 sons, their wives and 2 children each. Five bedrooms, 5 king sized beds. Everyone had their space and privacy and comfort. The kitchen was better equipped than our kitchen at home. The lake frontage was perfect. Our rented pontoon boat fit perfectly. The fire pit lake side was great. The home is only a few windy miles from Cashiers and Highlands. This vacation will create lifelong memories for us and our family. Thank you for sharing this special place.

Perfect family lake house. Great memories on the lake swimming, canoeing, boating, kayaking and sitting around the fire! Our family didn’t want to leave. Enjoyed hikes in the area. Thankful for opportunity to enjoy this wonderful home and location. We all want to go back in next year!!

Every single aspect of this beautiful home and peaceful property was outstanding! The home itself was wonderful - so comfortable and immaculate! One of the cleanest VRBO homes we've been in. The owners' attention to all details and accommodations were really well thought out and helped to provide an amazing experience. Loved all the unique furniture, along with the coziness of the rooms & fireplaces. The home perfectly provided comfort & privacy along with wonderful common areas. The view was spectacular! Loved that it was an easy walk down to the shore & dock. Enjoyed sitting lakeside with the firepit roaring. Exceptional home, accommodations, view and communications. Highly recommend this amazing home - there is no way you can be disappointed with any aspect of it.

What you see is what you get with this listing--in all the best ways. It was very clean, well stocked and perfect for a large group. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was plenty of seating for our large group in the den and at the dining room table. We can't wait to return!

We loved our time at this amazing home. We celebrated Christmas here with our kids. The first surprise was there was a Christmas tree for us to put our gifts under! There was plenty of room for everyone to be together and to spend the time alone. Everyone had a kingsize bed too! There was plenty of firewood to enjoy as many fires in the fireplace that we wanted. The kitchen was big and well stocked too! And we loved the round dining table. The property is very relaxing and great for families of all ages. We enjoyed hiking on the nearby trails and even had a little dusting of snow on our last day there. We can’t wait to go back!

Was fabulous! Lake house is awesome, great kitchen space, also very well stocked- beautiful water views, fun yard for kids to run around. Rented a boat from signal ridge which was also very easy. Already planning our next trip! Owner so helpful and communicative. Comfortably slept 3 adults couples, one grandpa and 3 kids under 3!

Our family LOVES Katie Camp! This is our second year and it's clean, great for entertaining our large family and has beautiful views of the lake. We love sitting on the back porch in the morning with coffee and nighttime with wine. Susan is wonderful to communicate with and such a great host. We will hopefully be back for a third year!

We had a wonderful time at Camp Katie! It was the perfect lake experience…gentle slope down to the lake and well stocked with kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and fishing rods. Would definitely stay again.

From the moment we stepped into this absolutely beautiful lake house we felt at home. Enough room to fit our family more than comfortably. Fun nights spent around the large family dining room table playing games and laughing. Relaxing on the porch with a hot cup of coffee watching the sun rise in the morning. Our week spent here could not have been more perfect.

Despite the unseasonably cold weather we had a great time. Plenty of firewood to make campfires and stay warm. Fishing poles were great as well as the kayaks and canoes. We played games and watch soccer so everyone was happy!

We love this house - this was our fifth time to stay there over Fall Break! The house and grounds are always so well kept and the kitchen is amazingly equipped - as is the whole house. It's like staying at home, but ... we're with kids and grands in a beautiful selling.

Loved our stay at Katie Camp. The early fall weather turned out to be perfect for hiking and kayaking. Kitchen was well appointed for cooking a big dinner. Everyone has already noted wi-fi and phone limitations, but that did not deter us in the least. TV worked fine for fall football watching. We loved our stay and our group had plenty of room to spread out.

A wonderful retreat for our family! Campfires under the stars; meals around the table and comfortable sleeping. Would have liked stronger internet; enjoyed the peacefulness and quiet. 20 minutes into Cashiers. Fabulous time by all!

Our family of 8 stayed here and it was beautiful! Each of us got our own king bed (5 bedrooms). We used the kayaks, swam off the dock and rented a boat.. it was perfect. The only thing to be aware of is that there is no reception in that area and the wifi is not great. Some of us had to go into Cashiers (20 mins away) to do work. Other than that, we absolutely loved our stay here and hope to be back as soon as we can!

We had a great family reunion at Katie Camp. House was so nice in ways we did not expect. The big round table was great for conversation during meals. Large kitchen and very large island table accommodated food prep and serving. We had up to 10 in rocking chairs on the porch enjoying the view, reading books and sharing conversation. There are 4 kayaks and 1 canoe so all can participate in water adventures.
In hindsight we would put the early risers in the bedroom below the kitchen. Internet is barely usable by a large group, but we staged our usage and got by. The cool mountain air and nice accommodations left us refreshed.

Great stay! The porches are amazing. The house seemed brand new, even though it was over 20 years old. The construction is impeccable. No mold or mildew smells. Even floors. They looked amazing too and are perfectly level. Probably the cleanest house I’ve rented. Just a perfect build and well maintained. It is a bit remote and the wifi and cell service is nearly nonexistent. The dock is a bit sketchy because the water level was low for August, so the walkway was tilted about 30 degrees which was hard for my father. I have a 25’ inboard boat and it was workable but if the water was any lower I wouldn’t have been able to park there (1’ of clearance from prop to lake bottom) It’s a bit tight to get into and out of because the neighbors dock juts out and is very stressful. I’d imagine it wouldn’t be doable off-season. If they could extend the dock out that would be perfect but it probably works out for most and would be a non issue for a pontoon and most outboards. Also the air conditioning didn’t work great, especially the bottom floor. The walk to the dock is gentle, but it’s a mix of dirt, uneven stones, mulch and grass, so that was more challenging than expected. Overall it was worth the price for the build quality, the covered porch with water views, and the cleanliness. I’d stay again.

Annual family vacation
We are Katie Camp fans! Three generations (all adult) of our family just completed a week at Lake Glenville. Our second year at Katie Camp. There is lots of room for parking and the dining room table is fabulour! The house is such so perfect – the layout is wonderful, each bedroom has a King bed (very comfortable), well-appointed kitchen, lake facing porches loaded with rocking chairs, and charming furnishings. The water toys provided are great. We used the kayaks all week. There is a massive basket of beach towels right by the lake side door. Dock is wonderful for sitting, docking boat and wave runner and tying up kayaks and paddleboards. Our younger generation had a wonderful bonfire in the firepit one night and loved their evening by the fire and by the lake. We have only one complaint – our July week in 2023 is already booked – we are so sad!!

Wonderful
We loved our stay in your beautiful, sparkling clean home on Lake Glenville. We had a blast on the lake in a Tritoon that we rented through Signal Marina. We enjoyed coffee while rocking every morning on the back porch over looking the lake.

Great location, wonderful property and view, one of the few locations with a lawn that slopes down to the water. We loved it!

Beautiful/Comfortable Stay
Katie Camp was absolutely perfect! The home was so inviting. Each bedroom was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The rockers on both levels were so nice to enjoy the view out to the water and to be able to utilize all of the screen doors was a plus too. The walk to the water is very gradual with steps and a well defined path of mulch! The kitchen was so well stocked and wasn’t lacking for any need you had (from pots and pans to dish towels to cutting boards to dinnerware).
Overall, we would definitely stay here again and was such a cozy, well appointed home.

Great stay!
The Lakehouse at Katie Camp is a beautiful property! The house and the property were even better than described, and the whole house was very well equipped for anything we needed. The kitchen is great and was well stocked for preparing meals for large groups of adults throughout Thanksgiving week. My only heads up (which was clearly called out by the host in our paperwork) is that the wifi and cell reception is pretty limited at the house, so be prepared to unplug, but that is not a bad thing! :)

Great for large parties
The layout of this home is fabulous for groups or families. Every room has a super comfortable King size bed. Everyone felt room to relax and the bedrooms are spacious. Having the downstairs living space was great for those that like to get up early. The outdoor space is beautiful, the boys had room to throw a football while the rest of us enjoyed a little fire by the shore. Everything about this home is set up for comfort and ease of use. The home was very clean, and you can see the pride of ownership. Overall, we had a great time, and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Fantastic House!
We really enjoyed our stay! We had a group of 5 adults and 2 kids. The house was very spacious and clean. We had more than enough space to be comfortable. The views of the lake are amazing and easily accessible. We fished off the dock, had s’mores by the lakefront fire pit and took the canoe out to explore. Great hiking nearby as well. One of the best homes we’ve rented to date. Do not go with the intention of working or staying completely connected (my husband tried), because the internet is spotty. Who wants to work on vacation anyways, especially in such a serene setting. Can’t say enough great things about our trip!

Vintage Lake House Vibe
We came together with friends to celebrate a birthday. It is hard to find homes with numerous king size beds, but this house delivered with 5 of them! We spent hours sitting at the extra large round dining room table, in the living room in front of a fire, and rocking on the upper porch.
It's not a "fancy" or new lake house...more of a vintage lake house vibe....but comfortable for our group.
It was rather cool and windy during our stay, so we didn't venture out in the canoe or kayaks. The marinas had also already closed down pontoon boat rental operations for the season. However, we snagged seats on a 2 hour pontoon boat tour of the lake and its numerous waterfalls through "World Class Waterfalls" on one of his last tours of the season.

This is our 3rd or 4th time to spend Fall Break at this house - obviously, we love it!! Charming, great lot and dock. It feels like "home" to us now!

Restful and Wonderful 4 Days In the Mountains
Kitchen is one of the best stocked we have ever had. House was very clean. Setting is stunning. Directions were superb. Fresh flowers were appreciated. House was big and spacious. Fireplace was used two evenings. Location is close to Cashiers, and they had the BEST craft fair we’ve ever attended. Made for a delightful 4 day weekend.

My husband and I were pleased to spend a week at Katie Camp. It is indeed a beautiful home and as the pictures portray, it is right on the lake and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and set from the wonderful wrap-around porch. The house and especially the kitchen is very well-equipped for most everything (though a wine opener appears to have gone missing. I say it must have gone missing b/c I can't imagine that this host would have forgotten this detail given the thoughtfulness with which this home is organized.) My husband fished from the dock and had excellent luck there one early morning, catching approximately nine fish. They were on the smaller side and he released them all back into the lake but had great fun fishing. He brought his own fishhing gear so we can't speak to the condition of the fishing equipment that is at the lake house. We had hoped to get out on the lake in the provided canoe or kayaks but the weather didn't cooperate with those plans. We did have a great day on the lake on a pontoon that we rented from Signal Ridge Marina, who were very helpful with information. The views from the lake are spectacular! Hubby had no luck fishing on the lake that day so he was thrilled to catch so many right off of the dock at Katie Camp! Regarding the location, it is fairly remote. While it's true that Cashier's is about a 20 minute drive and Highlands is a good 30 minutes, we would not say that it is an "easy" drive as another review mentions. It is a drive that is full of twists and turns on narrow mountain roads and the locals, who I'm sure are used to speeding down the mountain, tend to tailgate the driver in front. This made it not an optimal location for dining out each evening as we had to consider this, along with the rain we encountered, and it put a slight kink in our plans as we didn't really want to be driving those roads after dark (or certainly after having had anything to drink.) If you are planning to do most of your cooking at the house, then not an issue. In terms of restaurants in the area, be sure to check which days they are open as many were closed on odd days of the week. We had a great meal at Slabtown Pizza in Cashiers, which has much more than just artisanal pizza! Be sure to reserve a table at the higher-end places in Highlands as many were booked up. All in all, a great stay in a beautiful piece of paradise! Thank you, Susan, for sharing your beautiful home with us!

A Wonderful Spot for a Family Getaway
Katie Camp is a very comfortable and family friendly home away from home. We had great meals around the large dining table. We enjoyed the easy access to the lake and using the canoe and kayaks to explore the lakeshore. The view each morning of the mist rising off the water and revealing the mountains in the distance made a beautiful start to each day. The proximity to numerous hiking trails in the Lake Glenville area can't be beat.
In short, a perfect spot for our family to spend a wonderful week.
