Starfish Cottage is a classic 1950’s Florida beachside community cottage home with a cool retro Florida feel (terrazzo floors and funky 1950’s color bathroom tiles), which has been updated and refreshed with stylish and comfortable modern touches to create a cozy vintage-meets-modern, east-meets-west, beachy vibe. It is the second closest home to the beautiful tropical lifeguarded white sand beaches and sparkling waters at Vero Beach's acclaimed South Beach Park!
The home is fun for family members of all ages and generations. While the home, in typical seaside community cottage tradition, is not particularly large, Starfish Cottage offers several spaces for everyone to gather together to eat, drink or play, and separate indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy your stay.
Starfish has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, nice dining / living space, and full size appliances in the kitchen. The home offers easy beach access just steps from the front door. There are steps that you can take to help us protect these magnificent creatures. During Turtle Nesting Season (March 1st to October 31st): never approach nesting or hatching turtles, never walk on or disturb turtle nests (they look like sand mounds and are often taped off and labeled with orange tape), and use only red light flashlights if walking on the beach at night.

I love this little beach cottage so much! This is the second time I’ve stayed here and I truly plan to stay here every time I come to Vero Beach, which is where my son happens to live. It’s very quaint and warm and has an eclectic 1950s vibe. It is so inviting it’s not fancy it’s just cozy and comfortable and it’s like walking in from the beach and sinking into an amazing couch!

I can not wait to come back to this little beach cottage getaway! It was so hard to leave! The listing describes it just perfectly and it was well equipped with whatever you might need. The beach gear was amazing! I loved sitting outside drinking coffee each morning and saying good morning to the neighbors renting the house next door. We walked to watch the sunrise at the beach each morning and miss it already. We took advantage of the take out from South Beach Pizza twice as it was just a short walk and back. Honestly if I could live in this cottage forever, I would!

This is our second stay at the Starfish. As with our previous experience, the cottage was well appointed. Each morning, it was so nice to take the 3-minute walk to the beach for the sunrise. Being able to walk to South Beach pizza was a bonus. Thank you for sharing this cute cottage. Looking forward to another visit.

Well kept cottage. Close to beach. Quiet and comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay there again when we come to Florida! Appreciated the little thoughtful things like night lights, quality cooking equipment, paper products and beach chairs to name only a few!!

This was a great place for our family. The beach is so close I could hear the waves crashing when I sat on the front porch at night. Communication was great. I couldn’t figure out how to get in the garage to get the bikes. The property manager responded immediately and we were soon on our way. We enjoyed the grill and well stocked kitchen as well.

The location of this house is great! The South Beach is just across the street and it is close to shopping center and grocery store. We used to live in Vero Beach and this was our first trip back. We had a great time. The owner came himself to drop off an Xbox that was not on the property which was nice since we weren’t able to get any responses from the agent.

The Starfish cottage is adorable! The cottage had everything one needs in a kitchen to cook and prepare food. We had a squeaky twin bed, but management resolved it in the same day.
We so enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the morning drinking our home brewed coffee. A slice of heaven.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in this cute little cabin. Immaculately clean! I love this little cabin! It was really amazing. Everything seems original, but in good working order and very clean. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, and the appliances were newer and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the sheets were high quality. In the little garage, there was a beach cart and beach chairs. There was also two bikes provided. The washer and dryer is located in the garage, which was very clean and easy to access. We loved sitting out on the little front porch with the two chairs and listening to the waves and watching the people walk by. There was always a nice breeze and the porch was shaded the entire day. It was wonderful. We liked this place so much that we are staying the entire month of February in 2024. The bathroom has a retro look with the original tile. It’s very clean and nostalgic looking. The water pressure in the shower was just amazing. There was a very cool louver window in the shower like the old days in the 70s. Again, it was old, but very clean and well-maintained. We love this little cabin. It’s just a few minutes walk to the beach, which was absolutely amazing. You can walk for miles and forget all of your problems. If you stay at this little cabin, you have to remember that it’s old and it shows it’s where in some places, but it’s very nice, very quiet.!!

We really loved the location of the house and it was easy to hop on our bikes and go on several rides. Being able to store them in the garage was great. The room darkening curtains in the bedrooms made for a great sleep! You could not even tell it was sunny outside. It was so easy to get to the beach each day!

The inside of the cottage needs minor maintenance. Front blinds on window and front door was shredded which gave us no privacy. Enjoyed having washer/dryer and dishwasher.

The property and home were just what you'd expect from the listing. I measured it on google earth and it's 1,030 feet from the beach. Basically a 3 minute walk and you're in the water. The Wi-Fi works great, the AC works phenomenally, there's plenty of beach activity items in the garage, a ton of stuff to do locally. There were only 2 things I had a slight issue with. The larger bed feels more like a futon, the mattress is quite thin. Then there wasn't a knob on the inside of the bathroom and I had to get my partner or friend rescue me from locking myself in a few times. I didn't bring it up to the property management though, so I'm not going to knock the score when I didn't give them a chance to fix it. Those are two pretty minor things considering the location and cost were so great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Starfish Cottage. The host provided everything you could possibly need for a beach stay. Bikes, beach cart, umbrellas, chairs, games, etc. We loved how close we were to the beach, just steps away. Even though we hit snooze too many times, the cottage had a great view of a rocket launch. Great pizza just around to corner too. We will be back in the spring.

We really enjoyed the place. It was so close to the beach and a perfect size for my family of 4. The place was really clean. It had a lot of beach towels that were very handy for our many beach adventures. There was a delicious pizza place just around the corner that we walked to for dinner.

Very nice property that is short walking distance to beach. Very clean with all amentias. Great air conditioning. Grill in back yard with lots of beach toys in the garage. Safe neighborhood as well. Only issue was that the dishwasher did not work and we had to replace AA batteries in Xfinity TV remote to get it working. Minor issues and will stay there again

The positives of this property are its close location to a wonderful beach. The kitchen is well supplied. Issues include uncomfortable mattresses, especially the twin mattresses in the second bedroom which are uncomfortable and squeak. We complained about the twin mattresses, but nothing was done during stay. There is too much furniture in the house and most of it is very uncomfortable and not practical. The dining table chairs sink when you sit in them. In summary the house is neglected and could use new furnishings throughout.
