River Rock Cottage is a smoke-free cottage located approximately 3 miles east of Ashland, Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Superior giving you one of the most beautiful views of Chequamegon Bay and the Apostle Islands.
Keeping with our River Rock outdoor theme decor, this cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living room, dining room, fully-furnished kitchen, and outside grill. Two flat panel TVs with satellite for your entertainment. Free DSL/WiFi.
For those who love to fish, we have great year ‘round fishing on Chequamegon Bay and Lake Superior, where we cater to both open water and ice fishing. The cabin also caters to duck hunters, deer hunters as well as being a great vacation place for the family to just relax and watch the sunset.
We provide: Bedding & linens, towels, shampoo & conditioner, hair dryer, shower gel, hand soap & lotion – the same amenities as a hotel. In the kitchen we provide: Dishwasher, dish soap, napkins, paper towels, dishes, pots & pans, utensils, basically everything you have in your own kitchen. We even provide the salt & pepper. All you will need is the food to cook and maybe that special spice to pleasure your palate.

The place was fantastic for our crew of friends! Everything was comfortable with plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we could need and more. The sauna was a big hit and a nice compliment to our time swimming in the lake. We used the firepit and loved checking out the stars.

My family and I stayed here and everyone couldn’t stop saying how much they loved this place. Very clean, had great amenities, and the beds were very comfortable. The layout of the house was great for babies and kids. We had a bonfire every night and there was a lot of firewood provided that we appreciated! Even got to swim in the lake which was shallow and sandy after you get out a few feet. We also went to Bayfield which was our favorite day and explored the town and it was only about a half hour away. We are already planning our next trip here and will have to stay longer this time! Everything was very welcoming and comfortable. Nice amenities and furnishings including life jackets, cut firewood, indoor fire pit away from house, nicely laid out bedrooms that held two families very comfortably. Peaceful country location close enough to Bayfield for outings and cruises.

There were 5 adults & 2 children. Having a sauna available and a deck facing the bay were highlights. All stated they would like to come again. As the listing states, there are only 4 bedrooms with 2 beds in each. Be ready to share bedrooms if more than 4 single adults are sharing the unit.

We had an amazing family vacation! The cabin was exceptionally clean, plenty of room and well stocked. Great view of the lake and had beautiful sunsets every evening. Excellent Communication with the host and very friendly. We are planning to return for another family vacation 😊

The property was awesome. Great location with a beautiful view of the lake. Fully equipped kitchen was wonderful. The only issues we had were that the Wifi service was extremely slow. Also not having a washer and dryer with 2 active grandchildren for 5 days was definitely a problem.

Our group of a multi-generational family stayed for 4 nights. At the property we experienced beautiful sunsets, refreshing lakefront breeze, lots of space, shore fishing, lake swimming, an enclosed fire room (no mosquitoes!), and a SAUNA! Plus minutes from Ashland and a short drive to Bayfield for boat tours of the Appstle Islands as well as a short ferry ride to Madeline Island. Great communication before, during, and after our stay with Scott and Mike the property managers. An active yet chill vacation. We loved staying here!

Had multiple families together for a short getaway and we had a great time! The home is spacious and set up for larger groups. The outdoor fireplace and screened room were fantastic since the bugs were out in force, but to be expected with a wet summer in the woods. :) Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We stayed 3 nights during our waterfall tour of northern WI. The property was spectacular with plenty of space and a well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the fire pit with no mosquitoes, swimming in Lake Superior and meals on the deck. The cabin met all of our needs and wants. Both the host and the assistant at the bait shop were polite and welcoming.

Extended family trip to attend graduation at Northland. We enjoyed the house and property. The sauna and indoor fire pit were a big hit. The kids enjoyed a dip in Superior. Beautiful sunsets over the lake. Close to town but still have deer and turkey in the yard each morning.

This place was perfect for our family group. There was plenty of room; there were 8 of us for many nights. We were able to fish, cook meals, go for walks, make s'mores, etc... The location was great as we were able to hike at parks near by (Copper Falls, for ex.) and visit Bayfield.

My family totally enjoyed our time at the cabin. Our host was just a quick phone call away if we needed anything or had a question. The cabin was comfy, the yard big for grandkids to run, and the lake was beautiful. We could not think of anything that could be improved.

We chose this cabin mainly because it had the space for our whole family to stay and sleep while in Ashland for a family wedding. From the moment we walked in, we all agreed the cabin was even better than the pictures showed! The lake views were amazing and the fire pit/sauna room was perfect for still enjoying fires together on a few rainy nights … plus avoiding the mosquitoes! The cabin had plenty of room for us all to enjoy and the beds were comfortable. The location was perfect for enjoying the whole Ashland/Bayfield/Apostle Islands area. Scott was also very responsive and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend! Thank you for everything!

Place was great. Scott and the river rock team were great as well. After long days trying to find fish on the ice, the sauna and outdoor fire were the perfect way to warm up and relax. Highly recommended!

Very Nice Cabin! Lots of room to accommodate large groups. Big kitchen, big living room and enough beds to go around for everyone. Had to trailer the snowmobiles to the nearby trail but wasn’t as inconvenient, as one might think. Very affordable and Highly recommend! Jim Mages Osakis, MN

Six adults in their 70’s had a lovely stay at River Rock Cabin. We really enjoyed time around the fireplace in the sauna structure, the lake view/proximity, roominess of the cabin, and comfortable lounging chairs in the TV area. But for a house that can sleep 12 people (or our group of six adults from four families) we thought two bathrooms was too few.

Awesome house for six 65 yr old high school girlfriends from Minn to have a casual reunion. The beds were very comfy. We forgot coffee so it was nice to have coffee, filters & creamers there for us to use until we hit Walmart. Also appreciated all the dishware, wine glasses & abundance of ice. The whole setting was fabulous. We used the separate building with the firepit & sauna several times. The sauna was so clean, looked new. We saw deer, wild turkey & a fox. We all agreed we would love to come back with our own families.

This property was perfect for housing the bridal party. Some of them were from out of state and were awestruck at the beauty of Lake Superior, the fresh air and abundance of stars. Perhaps all the things many living here just take for granted. Everything was clean, well maintained and exactly what we were hoping for. It was nice for the girls to go there to unwind and decompress during a busy wedding weekend. Thank you for sharing your property that came with breathtaking views and peace and quiet. We visited with our kids and friends. It was an absolutely amazing property! Plenty of space for us to spread out but also spend quality time. It was peaceful and relaxing which is exactly what we needed! Highly recommend this place, the indoor fire pit was amazing as we didn't have to worry about bugs! We will be back again!

Very nice accomodations. Beautiful area. Saw alot of wild life. Bear joined us for dinner the 1st night. Lots to do. Apostle Islands, state parks with water falls. Cooked most meals and shopping was easy with Walmart and Super One close by.
