About this cabin rental

Wonderfully situated steps from sought after Lake Minocqua at the end of a private drive. It's less than a mile walk along the Bearskin Trail in to the town of Minocqua and all it has to offer! And just minutes from Hwy 70 where you will find all the conveniences of a full service grocery store (Trigs), Walmart, and other services a larger town has to offer.
The cabin features a spectacular view of Lake Minocqua from the large picture window in the living room.
The wood interior adds warmth and charm. The living/dining area is open to the kitchen allowing for plenty of room to gather. Equipped with Internet, Cable TV and a DVD player. We have lots of card and board games too if you prefer to unplug!
A completely remodeled bathroom is equipped with a toilet, shower, and lots of storage space for all your necessities in the vanity cabinet.
Three private bedrooms, each with two windows for good air flow, a dresser and a small closet, will keep all the guests comfortable. Since this is built for Northwoods comfort, the cabin has a "ductless" air conditioning which cools the whole cabin if the bedroom doors are left open. Fans are provided for additional comfort and one of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan.
The cabin is just steps up the hill from the water's edge. Lake Minocqua has excellent swimming and world class fishing. The boat and fishing pier is closest to the cabin and the swimming pier with raft and sandy bottom is just a few steps down from there. A fish cleaning house is available for your use. Bring your own boat or rent one from one of many local businesses. The public boat launch is about 1/4 mile away by boat, and you can launch your boat there or rent one from one of the many local rental businesses and most will bring it right to that same launch! (No boat is included with the cabin). There is a dedicated boat slip for ONE water craft included in this rental. Please do not bring more than one boat; there is no where to park more than one water craft!
A cabin vacation wouldn't be complete without a campfire and cookout, and there are 3 shared fire pits, 2 are just steps from this cabin.
Charcoal grill and picnic table are waiting for you to use!
You can walk less than a mile along the Bearskin Trail to restaurants, shopping, parks, Minocqua-bats waterski show, bars and other attractions in town.
Please see the calendar and rates for more information.
This cabin is the only 3 bedroom and largest of an association that has 6 free standing, independently owned cabins. We only own this one, but some of the other cabins are available for rent from the other owners, but we have no affiliation with those other owners and their rental activities. Please see the photographs for views of some of the other cabins at the resort, and their proximity to this cabin.
We have a professional cleaning service and we need to pass the cleaning fee we pay along to guests. Please see the rates portion for details.
There is NO daily housekeeping available.
There is reserved parking for 2 cars. Limited guest parking is available too.
ONE watercraft per unit: fishing or ski boat, or jet ski. The pier does not have space to tie up more than one boat/watercraft per cabin.
There is parking for one boat trailer on site.
This cabin is NOT wheelchair accessible and may not be a good choice for guests who have limited mobility. Access to the cabin is across the mowed lawn and access to the lake is by steps or a grassy hill.
Please ask if you have concerns related to access to resort amenities.
There are some important differences in booking any vacation rental property that is privately owned that we would like for you to consider:
As is customary for rental cabins in the area, we do not provide bath towels nor beach towels. You will also have to bring your own toiletries. If these are essential items for your stay, you may be more comfortable booking a hotel or another property that provides these amenities. We provide a list of "Things to Bring" that details items our guests typically would need to bring along to make the most of their stay.
A manager who is in the local area is available to respond to emergency situations. There is no concierge nor staff available on site.
We know that no one likes to pay extra fees. But as the prevailing practice for many vacation rental properties, we charge a cleaning fee per stay and a laundry fee per stay. These are fixed costs for us and we want to provide the option for shorter stays without having to raise our nightly rate for all guests, so it is added per stay instead of including it in the per night cost. The laundry fee partially covers the cost of having the sheets professionally laundered. Sorry, we are not able to offer any discounts on these fees.
Finally, we require a picture of a valid, government ID be transmitted to us to finalize any bookings. This ID must be in the name of the named person on the reservation, and this person must occupy the cabin for the duration of the reservation.
Thank you for considering our cabin for your vacation!

Definitely would recommend to anyone!

The cabin was beautiful and provided a lot more amenities than what you usually find in a rental. The kids had a blast fishing off the dock and swimming in the lake, and the Bearskin trail is right around the corner. It's a short walk into town or to hit the trail for a run. Plus the owners were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have been better!

Property was clean and well kept. Cabin was in a perfect spot on the lake. Everything was exactly as advertised.

Cute, well appointed cottage
The whole experience was great, couldn’t recommend more! Right after reservation, I had correspondence with the property manager, who mentioned that if we wanted early check in they’d try to accommodate. Gave us early check in time although we couldn’t take advantage of this it was such a nice gesture. The cottage, while part of a condo group, was in a quiet setting and had ample parking space. It was clean and extra bedding, kitchen tools, etc. were all available. My kids were thrilled to find legos to play with during some inside time too. The swimming area was lovely, and we actually had it to ourselves all weekend and while on busy lake minocqua it seems to be a quieter part of the lake. Another perk - one of the few places in the area that you don’t need to book for a week or more during busy season. We had it 3 nights and look forward to coming back again.

We enjoyed our stay. However, I wish they would've provided towels.

Wedding guest getaway
We came to Minocqua to attend a wedding and stayed at this cabin with another couple and our infant son. The property was perfect! It is in the best location to both escape and having (beautiful) walking access to downtown. The property manager was SO helpful and communicative. She even helped us find a local sitter for the baby so we could enjoy the wedding reception. Would definitely book again!

We loved our whole experience with Marika and Minocqua Shores, so much so that we plan to be back next year. The cabin and area was just as described. It was ideal for our family, the swimming area, the playground, boat slip. We loved it. And Marika was super responsive. Any question I had and sent through VRBO was answered almost immediately.

Nice place
The cabin met my needs for a fall weekend in the northwoods. It's nice there are 3 separate bedrooms in such a compact space. The furniture is not fancy but it's comfortable. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area.

Great fall getaway
Very cute cabin with a beautiful view of the lake. The area was very quiet and peaceful. We loved being able to walk to the Bearskin trail and to town from the house. The owners were great communicators and available to answer our questions during our stay. Our kids loved the playground and fire pit. Of note, if staying during cold weather, the cabin is heated by a heating unit/gas run space heater that does get quite hot and is easily reached by small children, causing a potential hazard. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time and the property is exceptional. We vacation in the Oneida/Vilas counties region every summer, and we've rented a different place every year for the past 9 years. This cabin was by far the best-maintained and cleanest so far. The grounds are large and very well-kept. The common areas have nice fire pits, a play set, and a really nice sandy-bottom swimming area that was perfect for our two little kids. Management was very responsive and even checked in mid-week. Highly recommend!

Great place
We enjoy Minocqua shores resort for its location. We like things to do and we like the peaceful walk to town over the bridge to town. We walk (young kids bike) to get breakfast, coffee, shops. We also like to boat on the lake. This year we rented a pontoon from bj’s along with a tube. So much fun for our kids. The beach area at the resort is fun to swim at and kid friendly. The cabin is spacious and decorated nicely. It was clean. The owner is very helpful and friendly.

Great little cabin in the north woods
Great experience at this cabin. Its a tad on the smaller side, but we fit 2 families of 4 (small children) in nicely. Owner was very responsive when we couldn't figure out how to turn on the new heater. Once we figured it out it worked really well. Overall, great stay.

Great location, clean and inviting
The cabin was very clean, information was very clear and the location couldn’t have been better! We could walk everywhere. Loved that we could use the fire pit, outdoor seating and the grill. Very family friendly! Thanks.

Wonderful lakeside getaway
We really enjoyed this cabin with our family of five, and in-laws. The owner was great to communicate with and very responsive; would definitely recommend.
The easy access to the dock and water was great, and a small swimming area was awesome too.
The town of Minoqua was just a short boat ride, or you can even walk with a pedestrian only bridge not too far away.
Had a blast, and look forward to return!

Had a great time in this well kept cabin
Cute cabin that is nicely maintained and clean.
4 of us had plenty of space both indoors and out! Nice lawn area leads up to the cabin and the lake is just a few steps away. We liked walking in to the town of Minocqua from the cabin too.

We loved the lake and the cabin and the bedrooms!
Our granddaughters had a grand time! Had fun playing with some of the games! Loved all of the utensils and cupboards having dishes etc! We hope to come back next year! Had such a great time! Loved the area and the lake! Very satisfied and thank you! 😀

Overall a nice cabin in the woods.
The cabin was nice and what we expected! The only down side was there was a misunderstanding about lake access. I understood from the picture I was looking at and our initial conversations that the cabin was just steps from the lake and that would have been wonderful as a couple of us could not do stairs. In reality when we arrived our cabin #6 was at the top of the hill and there were 22 stairs down to the lake area and other cabins. After calling Marika the manager of the property right away we figured out it was just a misunderstanding by both of us and she was very nice in handling the issue. If not for the stairs we certainly would rent the cabin again!

Great Fall Getaway
We had a great stay in the cabin over the Columbus Day Holiday weekend. The leaves were at peak color, the downtown area was within walking distance using the trail bridge, and most of the downtown businesses were still open for the late tourist season. The cabin was cozy and open. Everything we needed was there. We made use of the dock with our fishing kayaks. It was great to enjoy our early morning coffee while fishing off the dock. We made some great memories and can't wait to go back.

The cabin was clean Ann comfortable. Cable TV was a plus.
Clean and comfortable. We came to fish and LOTS of lakes available. Fishing was also good. Cabin is just what we needed for our 4 fishermen. Dock was stable and was easy to access. Large enough for our 24 ft boat. Lots to do in the area to do either by car or boat. Lots of fun.
