Loved the home, everything you needed and more was provided. We caught tons of fish, enough for two fish fries for 13 hungry folks and took some home. Our dog went swimming three times and the kids did 4 times but end of the week was pretty cool 60's for swimming. Great owner nearby to fix or bring anything needed or ask questions.

Martha Brauer was a very welcoming host, even for our dogs - supplying dog dishes, a kennel and clean up supplies. The kitchen was well equipped with quality dishware, eating utensils, pots and pans. There was even an extra refrigerator in the laundry room. We appreciated how clean and organized everything was. There were detailed descriptions on what to do with the bed and bath linens on our departure. The location of the home was very convenient and the nice dock was easily accessible. We highly recommend this VRBO and hope to return next year!

Everything was exactly as described or better, very clean! Everything was in good working order, communication with host was as good as it gets! Close to everything you might need but far enough away to feel secluded. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back soon.

If you're looking for convenience to Hayward, access to easy fishing and an easy drive to everything the areas has to offer, this is the perfect house. Plenty of room for adults and kids, and everything you need for your stay.
I rented with a group of adults for the Chequamegon bike fest and it's proximity to Hayward and Cable, and it was great. Five minute to downtown Hayward, easy access to trails and lakes.
We threw some casts in the water when we had a moment to spare and caught two northern. Not too shabby and made the stay that much better knowing we didn't have to spend time with a canoe or boat.
Martha was great to work with and is an excellent communicator.
Could not ask for more!

This property was just as nice and charming as the owners.
We loved our stay at The Lodge. The Home is absolutely beautiful, clean, and well stocked. Nothing was spared and everything was considered. Everything was in working order. Martha and Dennis are very responsive, accomodating, and the property is very well managed. This was our yearly New Year family snowmobile trip. We shared the home with another family and found that it had more than enough room for all of us (including 2 dogs). The property was just as described, and even more peaceful than we could have dreamed. Our hosts were great and very quick to respond. Thank you Martha and Dennis for another great New Year family getaway! We look forward to coming back!

This is a beautiful cabin! It has all the amenities you would need. Bring your own food and you're good to go. There was a picture of the lake included with all the pictures, but the reality is that you cannot see the lake from the cabin. There is a path that takes you to the lake, but beautiful once you get down there. The cabin itself is surrounded by trees. We had the pontoon booked from the owners but last minute, it was not available. The owners took charge and found us another pontoon which was nearby and easy to pick up and return.

This home had the perfect “north woods” feel we were looking for while also being SO clean and organized. Everything was easy to use. The kitchen was super stocked with anything you would need. The attention to detail was beyond expectations. It felt very private and peaceful. Just the perfect spot for our purposes!

We spent a week at Woodhaven and Martha & Dennis are great hosts, very prompt with replies and accommodating. The house is very cozy, clean, & the kitchen has everything you need and more. We also rented the pontoon, which is definitely a must when vacationing on a lake. Good memories had by all.

This property is beautiful and well maintained. The bedrooms were comfortable, the mattresses are heavenly. The kitchen is so well stocked, nothing was needed from home but food. The dock is sturdy and long, plenty of room for our toys. They offered complimentary canoe, kayak and row boat which our family took advantage of. Martha and Dennis have thought of everything to make our stay more enjoyable. They put great thought into cleanliness and comfort. Thank you for such a beautiful location for our family to create memories in!

Family trip
The house is everything that we wanted. Plenty of room for everyone. We have a grandson in a wheelchair, so the basement was perfect for him. My only wish is that the check in would be for more than 6 people. The house can easily sleep 12. We rented the pontoon boat and loved it. Martha and Dennis were great. See you next year

Incredibly well equipped lake home on a beautiful lake
The hosts were very welcoming and the home was extremely well equipped and in great condition. We also rented the pontoon boat which was a great way to enjoy the lake. Martha even had pet bowls for our dog.
There are also a few areas to sit in -one on each floor which we would be great if you had different ages all staying together.
We rented at the beginning of summer so we didn’t swim but the lake had a lot of fishing spots or you could cast off the dock.

We came up to xcski, fat bike, snowshoe and relax for the weekend. Many recreational trails are 10-20 minutes from the cabin. The cabin is located on a quiet, dead end road with wooded views of Nelson Lake. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend, including a kitchen stocked with everything needed to cook along with extra towels and linens. Evenings were spent next to the fireplace. The manager was helpful and prompt with any questions and provided a lot of great info prior to coming to Hayward.

There are not enough words to summarize such a perfect stay! This cabin is fabulous! It is spotless! The pics really do not do it justice. The location is perfectly situated between surrounding cities, ie., Cable, Hayward....so it's very convenient.
We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Martha, Dennis, and Boone (their doggie). We've stayed in cabins across the country, and these are the nicest people with whom we have ever had the pleasure of staying.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this experience. If you are ever in this area, I highly suggest renting Wood Haven Lodge! Dennis, Martha, and Boone will make you feel at home!

Beautiful Property
We stayed as a family of 9 (mom/dad/kids and grandparents). The home was very clean and beautiful surroundings. Great location.
Only ever so slight complaint is the mattresses.
The mattresses were very firm which neither couple was used to so not very uncomfortable for us , made rest hard , but others may be ok with firm. Again, only a slight complaint. Everything else was wonderful!

Wood Haven MEA Weekend
The owners were meticulous about organization and cleanliness of this property. Our family and our dog had all the accommodations we needed and communication with the owners was excellent. We had a great stay on a fall weekend, I would love to be back again to enjoy another season at this well cared for, cozy cabin. My kids loved all the special little extras, including personalized memory game of the cabin, drawstring bags to take home, personalized note pads and playing cards.

The cabin was PRISTINE, beautiful beyond measure (all wood) and the amenities were endless. We rented the pontoon, and everything was ready to go. Martha and Dennis were attentive, gracious and extremely helpful. We've made new friends! This is a great place for family/friends to gather to reconnect. It is spacious, gorgeous, and clean..not a dust bunny anywhere. Could have stayed all summer.

Our family of 12 had a wonderful time at Wood Haven! The cabin was beautiful and very well appointed. Dennis and Martha thought of everything! We also rented their pontoon, which worked great for fishing and cruising. We had great luck fishing off the dock, too. The fish cleaning house was a plus. Swimming next to the dock was ideal. Martha and Dennis, the hosts, are the best!

Great cabin for multiple families
This was a great home-away-from home for us for 2 weeks. We had multiple families during the stay and the layout of this cabin was perfect. Three floors each with bedrooms and bathrooms gave everyone their space. It's a very clean and well-appointed space. We had many meals there an couldn't have asked for a better stocked kitchen -- everything a foodie could need or want!
