Great peaceful getaway
It's a cute cabin right on the Kentucky river. And on the other side is a river wall. It's a beautiful sight and the cabin has 3 decks to view it from! The cabin is actually 3 apartments which is perfect for groups because everyone has space and independence. There is also a nice hot tub under a gazebo. Brenda and her husband Ralph are kind and accommodating. I will be back!

Awesome Cottage and Awesome Owners
This place was perfect for our mini family reunion. Each family could gather together at a common area yet still have their own private place to relax at night. The owners were
absolute awesome hosts! The Kentucky River views from this cottage are breathtaking!

Beauty all around!
This is such a beautiful house (inside and out) in a beautiful spot. Highly recommended! Brenda was super friendly, accommodating, and easy to work work with. This property is especially good if you have a few (2-3) sub-units in your group. Each unit can have their own floor, and then there is plenty of large group gathering space outside.

Great getaway!
This sweet cottage is only minutes from Lexington or Richmond but secluded enough to feel like you have gotten away from it all. My family could not get enough of the beautiful river views. We will definitely come back!

Charming Stay
The river cottage was perfect for our stay in Kentucky. All three floors were great, but the ground floor was a little stuffy at times. Brenda was great to work with.

Nice location, good atmosphere, great for a weekend with friends
The property was very pretty, the place was well furnished. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. It’s an ideal spot for a nice get together with friends. The location can accommodate more people than your average cottage / cabin. Would recommend.

Comfy, quirky house right on the Kentucky River
I rented this entire house for a weekend with several old friends and it worked out perfectly. The house is broken up into three separate apartments, which gave us each some private space, but also has good space for gathering in the middle apartment and on the expansive porch and huge yard. The view of the Kentucky River was a real plus, and we enjoyed playing horseshoes and cornhole. The neighborhood was very quiet (except maybe for us). Internet worked great. We didn't try the hot tub or the TV. We had a great time at the Proud Mary BBQ restaurant right up the road. Also, the property owner was very responsive to questions and requests.

It's all in the details
From the beautiful ferns and coleus to the horseshoe pits, every feasible detail was impeccable. We will definitely be back multiple times. So peaceful, pleasant, and homey.

Quaint river setting, close to many activities
Besides the quaint cottage being a perfect fit for our extended-family visit (5 adults, 5 kids), Ralph & Brenda treated us to a boat ride on the river, fishing and stories of the area. Tranquil view of the river and palisades for the grown ups. Big yard to run and hot tub for the kids. We found plenty of family-friendly activities in a 2 to 60 minute radius -- Kentucky Horse Park, Boonesbough State Park and Shaker Village. Dinner at Proud Mary's is a must. So much more to see in the area. Hope to be back again soon.

THE best!
We arrived on Thursday for my son's graduation from EKU on Friday (it was about a 15 minute drive there). Despite the rain, it was beautiful both inside & outside the cottages. We came from NC & rented out all 3 floors. Brenda & Ralph were THE best hosts ever - thought of everything. Tents, charcoal grills (had a cook out Friday evening with the rain), tables & chairs, music system for the guys to use, even extra flower vases. She offered suggestions on great restaurants (there was a notebook in each cottage with more information as well), also gave me directions to Costco. We all had a wonderful time with family & friends & would come back here in a heart beat if we find ourselves in the Lexington/Richmond area again.

Peaceful location on the river
Spent kentucky derby week at the cottage with my family. We rented the whole cottage and had an amazing time! Location was perfect, price was very reasonable compared to other VRBO,Air b&b properties we have rented. Plenty of room for the grandkids to run around and play. Owners were warm and welcoming and responded immediately to a minor leak issue. I would highly recommend this property and plan on returning soon.

Beautiful Place on the River
Our youngest of three sons was getting married at The Castle Post. We needed a place that would allow the immediate family (mom, dad, brothers and spouses) to be together when necessary and provide privacy when desired. We also wanted a place that was conveniently located, quiet, and relaxing. This place met all of our requirements. It is close to town for restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, area attractions, events, etc., yet remote enough to provide peace and tranquility while relaxing on the banks of the river or soaking in the hot tub. The three floors are fully contained units with all the amenities. The hosts were pleasant, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

My family and I stayed here for a weekend. We had a great time. We rented the first and second floor. They were both clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There is a book with all of the restaurants, churches, hospitals and attractions nearby. A nice touch. The view is pretty amazing. We enjoyed corn hole, horseshoes, the fire pit and the hot tub. We appreciated all the little touches to make our stay comfortable. We will definitely be staying again!

Our family had all 3 levels. We had all ages from 2years to 55 and everyone had a great time. We had an awesome experience. We booked very last minute literally a few days before the trip. Brenda was very accommodating, we felt like we were at home. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!

Brenda,
Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay. The scenery was so beautiful, and the cottage was everything we needed for our weekend. We appreciated your recommendation of the Jean Farris Winery; the food was excellent. The cottage, while feeling like we were miles from any city, was very conveniently located close to everything. I have sent pictures to all of my family because I want them to go down and enjoy your beautiful place, as well! We are planning to return next Spring.

Truly unique, comfortable, relaxing cottages right on the Kentucky River. Beautiful, tranquil setting in the woods literally feet away from the river. The owners and manager are warm, friendly, accomodating, and diligent in ensuring your comfort and meeting your needs. The cottages themselves are well-stocked and have comfortable beds, and are especially perfect for multi-family/couple gatherings. The porch on the main unit gives a panaramic view of the river, and if you like outdoor activities, these cottages are definitely your place to be. For us, gathering with friends, good conversation, reading, enjoying a glass of wine on the porch, and sharing meals together were our activities of choice, although the location is super convenient for exploring the area as it is just a very short distance off I-75. We shared a five-day vacation here with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This has to be THE BEST waterfront view available as a rental in Kentucky! Just a mile off I-75 and minutes from all the glorious attractions in Lexington, this slice of paradise is secluded amid towering sycamores, stately oaks, and majestic maples. The decks open onto the Kentucky River facing magnificent limestone palisades with waterfalls cascading to the river below. The view is so breathtaking you'll never want to leave the deck. And each unit has its own large private deck. You can practically fish from the deck off the ground unit. On our recent visit, we were delighted every day by an Osprey crisscrossing the river and diving for fish. We also had numerous sightings of kingfishers, great blue herons, wood ducks, and mallards. Songbirds and tree frogs serenaded us day and night. These cottages are immaculate and well stocked with everything you need to cook and stay awhile. We loved watching the full moon rise above the trees while basking in front of a bonfire with an endless supply of wood. Mist hovered over the river while the frogs and cicadas sang through the night. We had a reunion of family and friends. There was ample parking and well furnished patios to accommodate all. The flowers and landscaping are amazing, fed by a discreetly hidden irrigation system; they are lush, vibrant, and manicured. The Kentucky River Cottages are not just a place to spend the night. This is a destination, a relaxing, renewing Garden of Eden experience.

The title says it all. These cottages are that and more. My family and I totally enjoyed our relaxing stay for the holiday. The cottages were decorated very tastefully and was stocked with the essentials we needed for a home away from home. Brenda was very accomodating with our schedule and there was no pressure for checking in or checking out. These cottages are immaculently clean and all of the beds are very comfortable. The scenic veiw of the river added to the serene atmosphere and privacy is not an issue because each cottage has it's own entrance. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the sweetheart tub or the hot tub but I will definitely stay here again when the climate is more conducive for those activities. We are going to plan a visit so we can take full advantage of the fishing as well.

Went to canoe on the Ky River and it was too high and rough. Ended up having a great two days anyway. Went to Lexington for a day at the UK gardens and spent time in the Richmond Winchester area. Great place close to the Interstate.Spent alot of time on the deck in the evening and early morning. Felt like we were in another time it was so quiet and scenic in the trees. Wonderful cottage and Brenda was terrific. Will come back again. Deck directly overlooks the Ky River and the grounds are very pretty. Close to restaurants if you want but you would not have to leave with all the amenities availble. The beds are clean and the apts stocked with everything someone would need including a fireplace, tvs, and comfortable beds. Clean and well decorated. Very well kept- -owner obviously cares and lives close by and is available if needed. Made us feel welcome and like a relative, Could not asl for more. Hot tub and outside sweetheart tub on the middle floor under a tree canopy, Would be spectacular in the fall with the leaves turning color. Rip Tides Bar and Restaurant right around the corner. We visited Acftes of Land Winery right up the road in Richmond and ate dinner at a Mexican Restaurant , Also had some drinks on the outside deck at Halls on the River and at the Waterfront not too far away on the other night, Checked out the canoe rentals at Three Rivers and will be back up to try it.Unique area of Ky - the Pallasaides. Beautiful and relaxing!!! . .

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay this past weekend.
The cabin was decorated beautifully and as always the scenery
of the nature and river was amazing. My fiancé and I really enjoy
staying at your cabin and just wanted to express our appreciation
for what this exquisite location has to offer. I would highly recommend
this cabin to anyone that wants a romantic getaway or just a weekend away
with the family.....Christie and Brenda will not disappoint!

We absolutely loved this cottage. I own a hotel in Georgetown (Super 8) and was looking for a close overnight getaway with my wife and two young kids. Brenda the owner called me right back and was very helpful from the outset. She was a breeze to work with and was as friendly, helpful and hospitable as you could ask for and then some. Being in the hotel business, I can quickly tell if accommodations and service are going to be up to par or not and this cottage far exceeded my expectations. The cottage itself is cozy and clean with a great deck overlooking the KY River Palisades. It is stocked with everything you need for an overnight trip or a week long stay. We grilled sausages for lunch on the electric grill and barbequed chicken and corn on the charcoal grill for dinner. Brenda and her husband Ralph stopped by later in the evening and offered to take my family on a pontoon boat ride down the river. We brought them some food we had made and enjoyed an evening talking with Brenda and Ralph on the boat while the kids did some fishing. The kids loved the hot tub and have been asking if we can go back since we left. What else can I say? The cottage is great, Brenda and Ralph are awesome and the location is perfect! We will definitely be back and I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

The property was as advertised and more. It has a beautiful view of the river and the bluffs across from it. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. Our group wanted to do some biking but did not have access to bicycles. That didn't stop our helpful owner. She went out and bought some for us and future guests to use. Now that is going above and beyond. The property is also in close proximity to the Bourbon Trail (45 minutes) and Lexington (10-15 minutes). I'd strongly recommend it for young adults, families, or those seeking a romantic getaway.

My friends and I just made our second annual trip to the cottages. Again we were very pleased with how we were treated by Brenda with open arms---she is more than accommodating. It is the perfect getaway for my friends and I because it is so close to the main road, but is ideally nestled just far enough off of the beaten trail. We did a lot of fishing while there and had an extreme amount of success. It was very convenient to launch our boat just 200 yards down the river from the cottage and was able to leave it docked during our entire stay. We found a creek that fed into the river where we were able to take the boat into and caught several nice largemouth and small mouth, several bluegill, and even trout! We also decided to set a trot line at night and were greeted with several very nice blue cats and channel cats on our line-- we even had a few lines broken! We ended the trip with over 25 catfish in our possession--and another great thing about this place is they have a built in holding tank for bait fish and fish that you are keeping. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a bit, even if you don’t enjoy fishing---but for us the fishing aspect sure is a huge plus.

The cottages are clean and comfortable. All the pleasures of home with a beautiful view and relaxing atmosphere. Second time staying at the "Cottages" . Our first stay was to check out the Kentucky Horseshoeing School for our son. Our second stay was to visit our son enrolled in the Kentucky Horseshoeing School And to celebrate Easter with him and his class mates. Brenda was more than generous and felt like a long lost relative. The Old Southern Hospitality is alive and well at the Kentucky River Cottages. Looking forward to another stay at the Cottages for a more extended visit.
