My husband, two small children and I had a fabulous stay here. The property had everything we needed for a fun beach vacation. The short walk to the bay was ideal for our two young children and the bay was great for them (much calmer than the ocean). We would love to stay here again!

Quick trip down the shore for Labor Day. Perfect location! Short walk to the beach and Harpoons for food, music, and beautiful sunset views.

Property was clean and very close to the bay beach. We neglected to bring our own sheets but made due for the night.
So convenient to the bay beach for a walk in the morning, or to watch the sunset. The passes Denise provided for the Cape May beach were much appreciated too!

Denise's place was fantastic, exactly as described. Place was extremely clean and very well maintained, all of the kitchen essentials were provided, couches and beds were comfortable, outdoor area was spacious and well maintained. Denise even provided a goodie bag with trash bags, dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent pods and some snacks. Perfect location close to bay beach (2 blocks, easily walkable) and Denise even provide 6 beach tags to the Cape May beach only a short drive away. The basement was a huge bonus, large room with sectional couch, tv, card table, and beds for extra sleeping space! Denise's place exceeded my expectations and I plan on booking again in the future if available!

The small yard, the smell of the lavender growing around the deck and the easy beach access made for a perfect weekend away with kids. The bay beach is calm and clean and a short walk. Would definitely return.

Greatly enjoyed stay at NCM. The house is very well maintained and had everything we needed and more. We loved location, very nice, friendly and quiet nighborhood. And of course wonderful sunsets and Harpoons on the Bay.

This was our second time staying at this property, and, just like the first time, it was wonderful. The house is clean, well-equipped (especially the kitchen!), and cozy, combining the coastal vacation feel with the comforts of a home. Whether watching movies on the many TVs while lounging on the roomy couches or hanging out on the back patio (with new furniture), staying home was almost as much fun as being at the beach - which is never crowded, filled with sea creatures (fishing was very productive) and only 2 blocks away. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing for families with kids. The host was (again) very responsive and accommodating, though we (again) didn't have any issues. Would gladly come back.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the shore. The location of this cottage cannot be beat! Super easy walk to the beach, which was perfect for our little ones with the smaller waves. Our little ones loved searching for and catching ghost crabs on the beach at night and the neighborhood was so quiet, with zero traffic. I cannot recommend this cottage enough! We definitely hope to be back!

We had a wonderful week in North Cape May.
Denise is an excellent host and her home had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed staying here. The house is very cozy, bright, well-organized and well-equipped - and only a 5-min leisurely walk to the beach (and to Harpoons on the Bay.) The downstairs area is large and provides a lot of extra room (and games) for kids to play. The plants in the garden smell really nice when sitting on the back deck. It's a quiet neighborhood and the beach was never too crowded. The host is very responsive and helpful - though we didn't really need much during our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

This was my family's second time staying here. (Please see my review from a year ago for more detail.) We love the property and the neighborhood. The house is VERY clean, especially when you consider it is used as a summer rental. We felt very much at home there. It is nicely stocked and we never felt we were missing anything. When I asked Denise if she had a cooler for the beach, she made sure to drop one off before our arrival. The house is conveniently located within North Cape May and a quick drive to other nearby attractions.
I look forward to returning to NCM again. Such nice family memories at this house.

Home away from home!
This was our second time at this property and we absolutely loved it! The house is warm and inviting and VERY comfortable. The location is ideal, only a short walk to the bay and a 10 minute drive to downtown Cape May. The house is also on the same street as Harpoons on the Bay one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Denise the owner provided beach tags, chairs, beach carts and an umbrella for our days at the beach which was really convenient! The property is well manicured and the back deck was a perfect spot for morning coffee! The finished basement allowed our teen and preteen to have their space while we chilled upstairs. It was ideal! We definitely will be back.

Loved our stay!
We enjoyed our stay here! The house was very clean, air conditioning was plentiful, and it provided everything we needed. The bay beach is nice and perfect for the little ones. We also spent a lot of time in Wildwood (15-20 min away) and downtown Cape May (10 min away), but it was nice to come back to a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed relaxing on the Adirondack chairs and having an enclosed backyard for the kids to run around in. Highly recommend!

Terrific Experience
There has not been a review of Denise’s North Cape May cottage posted in a couple of years, so I figured I would provide an updated one…
Our stay at Denise’s Cottage by the Bay was excellent and exceeded expectations. The photos on the listing were an accurate representation of the accommodations, which does not always happen when you book on-line. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and kitchenware. There was never a moment where we felt we were missing something, which was convenient. The king is bed was comfortable, and I am fairly particular with that. The BBQ worked well, AC was strong, the shower had good pressure, and the outdoor shower was a plus. The carpet that runs throughout seems to be new.
Denise was easy to work with. When the cable box had an issue when we arrived, she had the cable company remotely send a refresh signal to fix the problem. When the beach cart had a broken wheel and laundry detergent ran out, she ordered replacements from Amazon that arrived the next day.
My family has been visiting Cape May yearly for many years, always staying in hotels & BnBs downtown. So we were initially hesitant about being on the bay side in North Cape May, but we were thoroughly impressed with the neighborhood. The cottage was an easy walk to the beach as advertised, and the beach was quite nice and not crowded. The bay beach was especially well suited for a small child due to the calm waves. The neighborhood consists of well-maintained houses, and the people are welcoming. Even the wild rabbits that roamed the neighborhood seemed friendly! And the sunsets were truly the best we have seen since Hawaii. A plus is that the house is on the same road as Harpoons, which is a lively beachfront restaurant with good food.
Just as an added hint, to save time we pre-ordered groceries at the Acme which is 5 minutes away.
I look forward to returning to NCM.

Wonderful house and location!
The house and property are very well kept and the location is fantastic. NCM is nice and quiet and the beach is a very short walk away. The house was actually much larger than we anticipated as well.
We had a wonderful time!

Clean, well-laid out, everything you would need for a beach area stay.
Very nicely outfitted small home with everything you could need provided. Very quiet neighborhood, although that may be different during the height of the summer. Short walk to beach, beautiful sunsets on that side of Cape May over Delaware Bay. Good proximity to supermarket and eateries, and a short drive to historic Cape May.

Nice , comfortable & quiet place to vaca...
My wife & I enjoyed our stay here. The house felt like home to us.
There was pretty much all you would need @ the house, just bring your clothes & food & beverage supplies.
The beach was close by (walkable) & very nice . We stayed the last week of 8/18 , plenty of room to relax on the beach.
Harpoons on the Bay , across from the beach , was our go to place, but going into Cape May proper was just a short ride , which we did many times.
We felt close to everything , but still far enough away from the hubbub.

Absolutely Perfect!
My co-leader and I took our Girl Scout Troop of 4 to celebrate the completion of their Gold Award. This could not have been a better vacation. The house was perfectly located for teenage girls to travel at will as everything was so close. They biked for ice cream & to buy lunch to eat on the beach. Some days they rode along the bay for exercise & to see dolphins, which we saw daily. The bay was also great to hang out on tubes or paddle board. The sunsets on the bay were absolutely spectacular and the girls made beautiful canvas paintings while they watched the sun go down. We were within 10 minutes of town so they hopped in the car to go to the beach and ride the waves, shop in town, and even got up early to see the sunrise.
The house was perfect with a wonderful beach motif. It was so clean, the beds were comfortable & the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The favorite of the group was the outside shower but I enjoyed sitting outside on the rocking chair with my coffee and book early in the morning while the girls were still asleep. The scenery outside was very nice with the beautiful garden, birds, bunnies and butterflies. Denise was so wonderful, updating us before our arrival and always quick to respond to a question.
I’d highly recommend Thunder Cat for the Dolphin Watch and Safari Marsh, they were both exciting and educational! Aqua Trails was great for paddle boarding and sunset kayaking; the guides are amazing and certified in fire and sea rescue. Both merchants were wonderful! For dining you can’t go wrong with the Crab House for all you can eat crabs during happy hour, the Rusty Nail for that real beach experience equipped with sand and fire pit, and the Mad Batter for the most amazing breakfast.
I would absolutely rent this house again. It was beyond perfect. There is so much more to do then we could accomplish in a week so we will be back for more!

Pleasant stay
The house is nice and worked well for my 2 grandsons. Close walk to the bay, which afforded beautiful sunsets. Approximately 5 miles to downtown beach. Outdoor shower always a plus when at the beach. Quiet neighborhood. Owners have provided all you need. The king size bed was comfortable; however, the day bed mattresses were not to us. The springs on the pull out trundle had more give than the top part so the other adult slept there with her 10 year old son, as the top was too hard for her or him. My suggestion would be to replace them with a better quality to ensure a restful night. Bear in mind, it could have been just us and our own comfort level. There is a pull out couch too. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and were happy the home was clean and had everything at your fingertips.

Perfect summer rental
Very enjoyable week. This home was very clean and the decor gave you a relaxed beach feel in every room.
North Cape May is very quiet. People and traffic were almost non-existent. The bay beach is just a short two and a half block walk. We went there in the mornings and would walk close to 3 miles along the beach and would only see about a handful of others. Late morning and into the afternoon there are more people on the beach, but again you really don't feel crowded. Another advantage of the location is being able to walk down to the beach in the evening and watch the sunsets.
All in all we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay, and have no hesitancy in renting this home again or recommending it to friends, family, or anyone.

Truly a Home away from Home really close to a beautiful And quite shore.
My family and I stayed in this lovely house for a week in August. It was our first time in Cape May and we simply fell in love with the victorian town and the beautiful shore in North Cape May, just 2 blocks from this house. The place was so clean and the decor really welcoming. We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners on the deck and loved to read a book in the nice garden. The kitchen is well equipped with all you should need ( and more!). We will definitely consider this home again if we will visit Cape May in the future.

Lovely stay
We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids, and the house was perfect for our needs. Everything that you will need is provided for, and it was well equipped. It was also kid friendly because there were very few sharp corners/edges! The nearby beach was also kid friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Great little beach house
Perfectly fit our needs as a family with two small children. Close to the bay side beach. Fenced in yard. Well stocked kitchen. Very clean and well taken care of. Close to all the attractions Cape May has to offer, but not on the busy end of town. Also close to the Wildwood boardwalk which was fun for the kids! Very hospitable owner who checks in to make sure you have everything you need. The outdoor shower was so great to get everyone cleaned up after the beach! We are planning on booking again next year!

Wonderful and spacious house with all the amenities for a great beach vacation
The house is bigger than it looks from the photos, both inside and out. It is very close to a lovely beach, especially if you have small children who don't want too many waves. We also liked the restaurant Harpoon Henry's also two blocks away. It was a bit of a drive to the main Cape May boardwalk, about 15 minutes. The house itself is well set up and easily had space for two families. Highly recommended!

AWESOME Beach House!!!
This house is just our favorite!! We come every year for its great location, but most of all for the house itself!! We are a family of 5 and it's just perfect! The kids can hang in the finished basement with games, sleeping area and TV, while the adults hang upstairs. The house is beautifully decorated, well equipped and very clean! The whole property is beautifully landscaped which you can thoroughly enjoy in the relaxing backyard on the deck or patio. My kids loved watching the birds, the butterflies and the humming birds. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It's so close to the bay and to town. It has everything you'd want in a beach vacation!!

Lovely Cottage near the Bay!! Great experience!
We had a lovely time at this house. It is very clean, well kept. While small in space, it was big in comfort. The kitchen had everything we needed. The back deck and yard are lovely and we saw birds and butterflies galore! We loved being a few blocks from the bay and walking down in the evening to see fabulous sunsets. It's a short drive to Cape May City and we enjoyed the restaurants, shops there, too.

Great vacation with young children
My husband, 2 year old son and I had a great week at the house. It was completely comfortable and well-equipped. My son loved playing out in the back yard every night. The beach is an easy walk from the house and was perfect for toddlers - minimal waves and never crowded. We appreciated having beach chairs and other gear provided at the house. There are so many things to do in the area: we enjoyed the Cape May Zoo, Brewery, City of Cape May downtown and the Lower Township community pool. We would definitely come back!

The best of both worlds
We just spent one of our best vacations ever at Denise's and David's house in North Cape May.
As a New York City family, we loved living in this very quiet, very neat, and very functional house and we particularly enjoyed the beautifully landscaped garden. We ate outside on the deck every day, marveling at the numerous birds flying around, admiring the trees and the mysterious bushes of tall grass, and taking advantage of the herb garden for our cooking. The neighborhood is very quiet - the symphony of all the different crickets at night was enchanting, and the darkness allowed us to watch the shooting stars of early August.
The house is definitely spacious enough for a family of four and the basement game-room and laundry area was very large and great for the kids to have their own space to hang out.
Denise and David were very friendly, helpful and responsive to all our needs.
We felt that we could enjoy the best of both worlds because we could walk to the quiet beach on the Delaware Bay just at the end of the street (5 min), but also easily drive to Cape May (15 min away, an easy, pleasant drive with little traffic). The beach near the house is perfect for little children with very gentle waves, although we didn't see too many people swimming, perhaps due to some jelly fish in the water. Our kids wanted to surf and play in the bigger waves of the Atlantic side at Cape May itself, so we did most of our beach-going there. To our great surprise, we never had any trouble finding free parking in Cape May, even at the height of the season, and therefore we took great advantage of the Cape May summer beach passes provided by the owners.
We loved Cape May itself with its old houses and we took advantage of the great shopping opportunities at the Washington Street Mall in the historic center of the town (including a fantastic bookstore!). And then at the end of the day, we loved being back "home" away from the summer crowds.
And then there are the sunsets at the Delaware Bay beach... We discovered that people from the entire neighborhood start walking to the nearby beach half an hour before sunset and gather to enjoy this very special moment. Unforgettable!
