About this cottage rental
Welcome to this upscale, casual family cottage in one of America's most acclaimed resorts. 428 Sea Lavender Court is one of few cottages in the Oceanwoods community that has 3 full baths and a den. A complete renovation of the 1667 sq. ft. cottage in late 2021 and early 2022 included total interior painting and the installation of a kitchen gas range and a tankless gas water heater. The three bathrooms were completely updated with beautiful ceramic tile and rimless shower doors. A cobblestone driveway and a path to a storeroom and shower area were added. This is not your typical beach rental! (A professional wide lens camera was used for most of the pictures.)
The cottage exterior has a unique and inviting look and is located on a neighborhood cul-de-sac. . The kitchen, open to the living/dining area, has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a bar with stools. Two small rooms on the front of the house include a dayroom with a sunny window seat and a separate laundry room with sink. The living area, opening to the screened porch, has a sofa/chaise lounge (from a Kiawah show house), two Sam Moore chairs and a 55” flat screen smart TV. The main ensuite and guest suite with private bath have comfortable queen-sized beds, chairs for reading or conversation, and upscale bedding. The third bedroom has custom-built bunk beds and a single platform bed with stylish bedding suitable for children or adults. All rooms except kitchen, laundry room and baths have ceiling fans.
Located on a peaceful lagoon 150 yards from Kiawah's 10-mile pristine beach, the cottage invites rest and relaxation. The walk to the beach is on a paved, shaded path that begins outside the cottage driveway. Our stretch of the beach, situated just west of the Night Heron condos and the 5-Star Sanctuary Hotel, remains uncrowded, inviting volleyball, bocci ball and other beach games. You also will want to spend time on the cottage's secluded, screened porch (with durable Brown Jordan furniture) from which you will look down the large lagoon and perhaps spot alligators, deer, bobcats, foxes, herons and abundant other species of birds. A charcoal grill facilitates a cook-out at any time. Wifi and four TVs (one for video games) are provided for additional enjoyment.
Four unisex bicycles are available for use on the island's 30 mile bike trails. Night Heron Park (Nature Center, children's playground, basketball court, and more) is a 10 minute walk or a very short bike ride away. The island's shops, restaurants, and tennis and golf courses are within easy biking or driving distance. Freshfields shopping area is just outside the entrance to Kiawah and offers boutiques, gift shops, restaurants and an excellent grocery store. Superb restaurants are on the island and at nearby Bohicket Marina. Charleston, America’s top tourist destination with world class restaurants, is only 40 minutes away! If you come once, you will return! (NOTE: NO POOL FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE WITH THIS RENTAL. )

The cottage is very comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the back screen porch. The included beach gear and new bikes were great. I like that it’s an end unit. Very easy short walk to the beach.

Our family enjoyed our stay over the Thanksgiving holiday at this lovely, very comfortable cottage. Ann was a gracious host. The cottage is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, a short walk to the beach. The area is beautiful, and Charleston was an easy drive. We hope to return.

We just finished an extended stay at Ann’s wonderful Kiawah cottage in the Oceanwoods development. The location is perfect, providing privacy and easy access to the beach and walk/bike trails. The home is well-equipped and has many updates including bathrooms with walk-in showers and comfort height toilets. Best thing of all is the responsiveness and helpfulness of the owner. Ann was wonderful in making arrangements for a new microwave to be delivered and installed for us very quickly when the old one died. The only thing we really missed was a gas barbecue but there is a charcoal one available for those who like the traditional method of grilling plus a new gas range. We would definitely consider staying at Ann’s cottage again.

The place was just like in the pictures, but even a bit bigger than expected. Owner was super responsive to our questions or requests. Would recommend this place for groups of 4-6 going to Kiawah

We loved our time in Kiawah Island! The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and just a short 3 minute walk to a wonderful beach.
The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Instructions were very thorough and Ann was prompt and communicative with any questions I had.
Everything is walkable and/or a short bike ride away. There’s also a huge park and playground if you have kids.
We hope to come stay again next year! :)

This was our second time staying at this property and it won’t be the last. The location is PERFECT, house very clean upon arrival, and the kitchen is wonderfully stocked for families that love to cook and eat in. My family has been coming to Kiawah for 40 years and this is one of our all time favorite properties!

Great Location
This is a nice unit in a really good location on Kiawah. It is private with a very short walk to the beach. The unit is well maintained and will be great when the bathrooms are renovated this winter! Overall, a great choice. We enjoyed Thanksgiving.

AQ was an excellent host and her property is wonderful. The house has a lot of extra room to spread out. The screened in porch looks out on the lagoon and well equipped with patio furniture and fan/light. The walk to the beach is short and shaded. Having chairs and bikes available was an added bonus. The kitchen is roomy for cooking with several people and had everything we could possibly need. We will look forward to hopefully going again soon...thank you for making our family vacation so memorable.

Perfect Retreat!
This cottage provided a perfect retreat from our hectic city lives. My husband and I enjoyed the relaxing days spent there along with two of our grown sons. We all appreciated its quiet cul-de-sac setting while being just a short stroll to the pristine beach and steps from the bike paths. The property is spacious, clean and has a well equipped kitchen as we all love to cook. The comfortable decor is tastefully updated and lends the feel of a home away from home. This is a property that we plan to return to!

Fantastic property
We had a fantastic stay at Ann's place in Kiawah Island and would love to return to it one day. The property exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our family. The kids (and adults) loved the proximity to the beach, and the attention to detail in the house was very impressive making for a very comfortable stay. We really couldn't recommend the property highly enough, Ann was a pleasure to deal with and it was a pleasure to stay at her property.

Spring beach getaway!
We visited Sea Lavendar Ct last Labor Day weekend and couldn't wait to return this past weekend!! I really appreciate how quickly Ann responds to emails and any questions and for detailed instructions and information regarding the stay. The home and location can't be beat. It is a short walk to the beautiful wide beach and there are lots of shady walking and bike paths. The home has a great layout and is beautifully decorated and so comfortable. We love sitting on the private screen porch over looking the lagoon . We also love nearby Fresh Fields Village and the Rider Cup Bar for lunch and it's gorgeous view! We can't wait to return !!

As a seasoned traveler, I can honestly say that there are few instances where I make the statement; "this house & location OVER delivers in every way imaginable". From the beginning, all communications with the owner Ann, were professional, detailed and prompt..this set a nice tone. It was our first trip to Kiawah, we typically take an annual golf/leisure trip to various destinations- The West Beach area of the Island is beautiful, quiet, with a short walk to the beach down a private footpath. It is convenient to all of the gorgeous golf courses, restaurants and up-scale shopping. The home itself was perfect. Among other amenities, it offers 2 great bdrms with private baths that worked perfectly for the adults, screened in porch, laundry room, great living area, etc etc! I highly recommend this property and hope to return-

Excellent Kiawah Vacation Home
Our family has vacationed on Kiawah for more than 30 years and had opportunities to stay in some very nice locations. Over the years, we have loved West Beach and have now found our "home away from home". It was such a pleasure to stay in the very private location on the lagoon, so near the beach path to the Atlantic Ocean! The house is completely remodeled to accommodate couples or families and extremely well furnished with a fully stocked kitchen and upscale furnishings, furniture and linens. The property owner is very organized , quick to communicate and such a pleasure to work with. We definitely plan to return to this location! Thank you for sharing with us.

Relaxing Family Vacation
We have visited Kiawah for almost 25 years and have stayed in many of the Oceanwoods properties. This is by far the best! Large space for everyone to call their own; clean and well-equipped; 3 bathrooms; awesome view of the lagoon and wonderful proximity to the beach. The bikes that were provided were great as just two of us used them and only a couple days...didn't have to hassle with renting them. Love the outdoor shower too! It was great that my children could be kids without having to worry about breaking something as well. The house was just as comfortable as if we were at home! We will definitely return to Kiawah and this beautiful home.

Beautiful Home
This was our first time to Kiawah, The location of the home was perfectly placed near the beach. We felt so comfortable with my 7 family members. We enjoyed the bikes that were provided. The outdoor shower was a blessing so that we could spray of the kids before going into the house. We will return for sure! Also enjoyed feeling so safe, the neighborhood was wonderful.

Spring Getaway
My family of 5 spent a few days here over our spring break and loved it! The house is much bigger in person and has everything you need. It is beautifully appointed and well taken care of. The beach is a close walk and was never crowded. The village at Kiawah has plenty of shopping and restaurants. Our kids wanted to bring their own bikes but having access to the 'owners closet' for their bikes and chairs is a very nice touch. The neighborhood is gorgeous and great for riding bikes or taking an evening walk. There is a lot of nature to enjoy including deer, birds and alligators. We found unique things on the beach such as washed up coral and a horseshoe crab shell. We've added these to our collection of beach finds from other areas. Every time my kids look at our display items they say, "Let's go back to Kiawah!" Thanks for a great stay!!

A piece of paradise
We spent a glorious week at this cottage. Having been regulars at Kiawah for the last 9 years, we needed a slightly larger place this time around as friends came down with us. When we walked in, we were surprised to see that the cottage was actually larger than it looked in the pictures. The furniture and appliances are all top notch, and there is more than enough room for 4, 6 or more to stay here and not feel like you're on top of each other. The sun room and the screened porch provide quiet respite for those that just want to relax, and the lagoon offers a multitude of wild life to observe. Having a wood fire when the evenings were cool was a bonus. We used the complimentary bikes, and the beach was a short 1 minute walk from the front door. We can hardly wait the 51 weeks until we return for next year's piece of paradise.

great weather
We stayed 2 weeks in the cottage which has recently been updated. Really appreciated the 4 bicycles. during the 2nd week used the bunk beds and they really looked nice but were a real pain to make up each morning. Good thing we found the step stool because no way to get to that top bunk without it. probably should have just left the beds unmade but we don't live that way. Really thought the kitchen was nicely done however I think we waisted a lot of dish washing soap because with only one sink bowl you had to drain the water out to use the disposal. not really a big issue after I decided to just use a large pan for clearing plates and glasses. The cottage has a dishwashed but with all our dishware we would have been running it 3 times a day to keep up. Other than that the property accomodated us in a reasonable way. I do feel it is very well suited for two families with two or less children each and as our grandchildren grow it may be a little tight for us.

Our Adopted Beach Home
We have stayed several time at this location and this year the renovations were really enjoyable. The remodeled kitchen area opened up the space and the new location of the washer/dryer were convenient. The neighborhood the cottage is in is really nice for bike riding and the walk to the beach is extremely close. The beach itself is not crowded and there is so much beach at low tide. The kids enjoy the bike trails throughout the island and we feel they are safe riding around with adults. We expect to be back in future years to enjoy this location.

Another FANTASTIC week at Kiawah Island. The cottage has just been remodeled.....I really love the kitchen....it's so roomy and convenient. This location is just one block from the ocean, with plenty of yard space for games and easy access to miles of beautiful biking trails. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!

Great family vacation!
Very quiet location. We loved the lagoon - complete with alligator!- in the back of the yard! Welcoming house with a great family friendly layout. It was a quick and easy walk on the bike trail to beach. We have been visiting Kiawah for 20+ years, and though this was our first stay at this house we hope to come back again.

We stayed here for a girls getaway. We were very pleased with our accommodations. This beach house is charming. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. The home is nicely furnished, very clean, comfortable, and up to date. There are lots of extra touches throughout the house. We enjoyed the screened porch overlooking the scenic lagoon tucked in the back of the house for total privacy. There is easy access to the walking and bike trails.
