Great location if you have kids at APP. It was a fun house with a pool table and hot tub for all to enjoy. The swing was very enjoyable as well. The customer care team was great to work with. The basement had a dog smell and they were very nice to come and clean the carpet for us. If I had any suggestions for the owners it would be to take up the carpet in the basement and lay flooring since they are a pet friendly home. The basement bedroom’s lights do not work (has black electrical tape on the fuse itself) indicating that they don’t work and has issues. The last thing would be the tub on main floor doesn’t drain. Very easy fixes and I think the house would be five star. I would definitely stay there again.

The house was big enough for our group of 9. 6 kids ranging from almost 2-17. There is a creek on the property but didnt have any water running through it until it rained for multiple days. It rained for 4 straight days. Only downside was the fridge had drawers that didn't work properly and very hard to open and no shelves in the door. Overall we had a blast and plenty to do in the surrounding areas!!

We booked A Positive Outlook for a weekend getaway with friends. We had a total of 10 people in the house and we all fit comfortably. The location is great and the setup of the house worked well for 2 families. The kitchen was relatively stocked (could’ve used tongs and some other utensils) and the game room was great to play some adult v kids pool. The morning sunrise was beautiful as it came up over the mountains.
The only downsides we had (and the reason for 4 stars vs 5) were the heat setting when we arrived and the cleanliness of the place. The heat is set at 55 degrees when the home is not in use which left this place freezing cold for our families when we checked in. It took approximately 5-6 hours for it to warm up, which made the first night a little less fun for everyone as we were still bundled up for the most part.
As far as cleanliness, the house was also a bit dusty and seemed like it hadn’t been rented in some time. Also, the comforter in the downstairs bedroom smelled like it hadn’t been washed in a while.
Overall, this was a great stay at a beautiful home. A couple of small things and this would have been a 5 star review. We would definitely rent here again in the future as our issues were small and can easily be fixed.

We enjoyed our stay! Large family including our one year old granddaughter, young adults and teens. More than enough room to spread out. Great location! We had everything we needed and more in this beautiful property. We did see some issues with housekeeping but we made the rental agency aware and are satisfied with their response. We feel sure this will be addressed with the cleaning crew moving forward. We plan to stay again.

Loved!

We loved the home but there are many stair steps to get to the master suite. We had an issue with the master bathroom shower that impacted our visit, and since it was during a holiday weekend, it couldn't be fixed. The rental company compensated us for the inconvenience.

Great location, great property management service
10 minutes from the heart of Boone but far enough away to be in peace and quiet. The management company was on top of texts, emails and calls for anything and everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolute relaxation
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at A Positive outlook. The house was just as described, very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for 4 couples. The hot tub was great and we got lots of use out the pool table. It was a very short drive to Boone and only 15-20 minutes from blowing rock. It was very quiet as well, there were other cabins in the area but they were far enough away that we didn’t hear anyone else. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked which was perfect as we ate every meal in the cabin. The only thing I would say as warning to groups that go to bed at different times (which is of no fault of the owners) is the noise travelled in the house easily (especially in the bottom floor bedroom) but noise machines helped us! Otherwise this cabin was perfect we all agreed we would love to come back again for our next mountain trip!

Hot Tub was clean and perfect for the cold temperatures we had. Overall it was a perfect getaway!! Definitely will stay at this property again!!!

Family mtn weekend
Great time at the cabin. Exactly as described. Couple of things to note: 1. Our code didn’t work to enter. Had to contact property mgmt. Quick response. 2. 3rd floor shower leaks 3. Refrigerator has a leak 4. Knives need sharpening

Lots of room for a large family.
Nice location, close to Boone and ski resorts. We enjoyed the long table in the kitchen so that we could all eat together. Large bedrooms and comfortable mattresses. The kids loved the pool table and the hot tub! Also great views! Be prepared if there is snow in the area as the plow trucks don't come by very often. We will be back next winter!

A Hidden Gem
Well stocked kitchen with a crockpot, loved the hot tub, rocking chairs, and porch swing. Steep twisting road from highway but that is consistent with the area. Host was responsive to our non urgent maintenance requests. Some DVDs available for adults and kids. Would stay again.

Great getaway for Extended Family
Our extended family of 10 (6 adults and 4 small children) had so much fun staying at ‘A Positive Outlook.’ The cabin is private, spacious, and set up well to accommodate families traveling together. The little ones had plenty of areas to play inside and out. We loved the open kitchen, large table, and main floor living area with the wrap around porch. The climbing ropes behind the house were also a big hit. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. The location is great because you have the peace and quiet of the mountains, but all the conveniences of stores and restaurants within 6 miles. We brought the kids to Tweetsie Railroad one day, went to Grandfather Mountain another day, and the kids when to Linville Falls and the caverns. The cabin rental company staff were great to work with and quickly responded to a few items we called about on arrival. This was such a lovely experience for our family, and we hope to have another mountain vacation again soon.

Awesome friends reunion!
I stayed with eight of my friends at this property and we were pleased with the excellent amount of space for us all to sleep, eat, and play games comfortably. Really short distance from lots of attractions we visited and I’m very pleased with the experience overall. Also, the pool table is lots of fun!

Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals is awesome to work with and very quick to call back if you need anything or have any questions (Dan Fitzgerald). Loved the layout and roominess of this house (A Positive Outlook). The dining table was able to accommodate all 10 of us as a family to sit down together for meals. We loved that it was pet friendly and that we have a place to come back to and bring our fur babies on vacation with us. We will DEFINITELY be returning to A Positive Outlook for our future vacation stays!!

Beautiful!
Property was just as described and well maintained. It was close enough to the gem mines, ski resorts, and downtown Boone. We used the hot tub almost every night and the kids loved the dirt wall next to the house with climbing ropes! Would definitely stay here again.

This place was so amazing! It was so sweet the attention to detail that was paid to even the smallest things from how to use the hot tub, instructions for every tv, labeled light switches and fans, extra towels downstairs for the hot tub. So much thought and detail into every thing. I really loved all the personal touches, you can tell that the home owners really want folks to have the best time possible. We had quite a variety of age ranges and there were activities, games, and dvds for the toddlers all the way through tweens. Such a lovely place! Thank you for the hospitality!

Beautiful location
Beautiful home on top of the mountain with great views but it did make the commute a little difficult with the snowstorm that came but we did fine with 4 wheel drive. Enjoyed the wood burning fire place and the large kitchen and open living area! Lots for everyone to do and near good restaurants. Had grocery delivery which was great! Hot tub was amazing! There were a few items left from a previous guest that made us think it wasn’t cleaned as well as we hoped but overall we would be back!
