About this house rental
Isolated, yet close to amenities. Newly updated home on 6.7 acres just off Highway 24. Only 4 minutes west of Torrey restaurants and other services. Surrounded by open space with spectacular views of Thousand Lake Mountain, Boulder Mountain, and the Henry Mountains. Nearest neighbor is over a mile away! There's a fire pit and charcoal grill when the urge strikes to cook outside, or just to stay warm by a fire under the stars. No neighbors = no lights = great stargazing. Great photos in all directions too!
Bright, open kitchen and dining area with access to the deck. Kitchen was remodeled in 2023 and equipped with new appliances.
Great for kids with lots of space, toys, and a ping pong table in the game room. Older stereo (teach your kids what cassette tapes are!) and new 48" tv plus dvd player. The antique tv and radio in the living room don't work, but can contribute to the history lesson too.
Great bike or ATV rides, nature walks, and trail runs right out the front door (amazing 17 mile road bike loop under the Cockscomb or ~12 mile running loop on the old dump road), and of course Capitol Reef National Park and many many other natural wonders are within easy reach with a short drive. The bike loop was the last 2 laps of Tour of Utah stage in 2016.
Torrey has both seasonal and year-round restaurants within 2 miles. Good pizza, burgers, southwestern food and coffee shop all within a quick drive.
Relax and let our home be your home base for appreciating some of Wayne County's natural wonders.

We loved staying here. It was nice to be away from everyone and enjoy the peace that this property offered.

This was the perfect property us to attend a large family reunion in nearby Lyman, UT. We had three elderly couples and a couple of adult children get together. The house is not fancy, but it had everything we needed. The best part is how isolated it sits from neighbors. We loved sitting out on the deck in the evening until it was really dark. The night sky was amazing without any light pollution. We were able to Capital Reef National Park, Boulder Mountain and other local hiking locations. Sean was a great host. Perfect place to use as a base camp to explore some of the most stunning natural beauty in Utah.

This is our second stay here and we love this place. Off by itself so the noise of kids and late night movies not a problem. Convenient for our nearby Capitol Reef National Park adventures. The owners are very, very responsive - the best we’ve experienced in our many rental stays. ALL of us recommend it!

This property is as secluded as advertised and access to Capitol Reef NP is within minutes. We loved the location and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Six of us friends enjoyed our visit to Capitol Reef National Park so much, thanks for the comfort and convenience of this house provided us.
The owner has stocked the house more than my own home. We felt so relaxed and enjoyed all the convenience such as the big kitchen, the laundry room, the deck and the ping pong table in the basement.
The WiFi worked just like downtown!
Thank you!

This home was perfect for our multi-generational group aged from 13-82. The location near Capitol Reef and Torrey made it a perfect launching point for exploring Utah’s parks. The beds were all comfortable and we were able to rest easy after our days of hiking and exploring. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The game room was great for our teens. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The views from the property are phenomenal and the area gave us plenty of options for dining and adventure.

We loved our stay at this home. Remote and beautiful but with easy access to Capitol Reef National Park. Well stocked and comfortable. The deck was especially wonderful. We sat outside a lot and enjoyed the beauty and the quiet. We were warned that GPS wouldn’t work and it was a little hard to find, but the owner was immediately responsive when I called and then it was easy. I highly recommend this rental. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Kitchen and basement like new, other areas of home rustic/dated, but comfortable. We had everything we needed to satisfy family members from 3 years old to 72. Night sky was unbelievable! Plenty of room to roam and explore on site. Beautiful deck and kitchen. We enjoyed every day.

Our family reunion has come to this property for 7 years in a row. Every year, the house keeps getting better with more upgrades. The location cannot be beat, the views are phenomenal, the fact that there are no neighbors anywhere near is a plus as well, pet friendly and great hosts to boot..Thank you Laura and Sean

We specifically chose this house due to its location, which was far away from any other house. It was exactly what we were hoping for and had a very peaceful few days stay. Very clean and had everything we needed. We had no cause to contact the owners but they made themselves available to us if we had needed their help with anything. We appreciated being able to bring our two dogs with us.

Beautiful location; very little evidence of humans seen from this house, only beautiful views. Four roomy bedrooms plus couches. Very clean. Hosts very responsive. Very nice well-equipped kitchen. This house is not fancy but has everything you need. We hope to stay here again.

Straight out of the 60s with some modern updates. Truly felt like staying at someone's home, not a VRBO. Very well equipped. Fit into the area perfectly. Situated between the "Big 5" if you don't mind driving a couple hours to a couple of the parks. Make sure you arrive before dark though your first day...not well lit and set very far off the road (owner will provide a map). Otherwise, a great place to stay!

We are a 3 adult couples traveling together on a road trip of Southern Utah, including the 5 NP's, some state parks, and a few NM's. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Sean was very helpful, and we really enjoyed the somewhat eclectic furnishings. Particularly the 50's era Admiral TV and the classic RCA consul radio. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the countryside beautiful.

We were so excited to spend the week here and everything met our expectations. Communication was perfect, from start to finish, owners were very receptive to messages. Property was quirky, but we absolutely loved it and so did our dogs. It’s quiet, away from people, and the views couldn’t have been better! they did a phenomenal job updating the kitchen, it really was open, with double doors to the deck. There was even half and half in the fridge for us, and a little extras here and there that were nice touches. Hands-down we would stay here again and again!!

The property was perfect for our group, an excellent hub for hiking and touring the Capitol Reef area. In the cold weather, we enjoyed the wood stove in the kitchen, all the instructions for everything were spot on. We would certainly stay here again.

Our group of ten enjoyed this Torrey home. Many different areas to hang out in the house. The beautiful views were enhances with a dusting of snow one morning. A short scenic drive to Capital Reef National Park. We lit up the outdoor fire pit to admire the night skies.

The home is clean and spacious, with more than enough room for our family (Adults, children & dog). The kitchen was well-stocked, and the owners kindly made available a wide array of books, toys, and games for kids of all ages. The property was a welcome place for short explorations and star gazing at night. It is close to Capitol Reef National Park and endless outdoor opportunities on surrounding public lands. The owners were very kind about accommodating some last-minute scheduling changes, left lots of great information about the surrounding area, and were always available for questions. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog and she seemed very comfortable and settled in the home. This rental made our vacation in Torrey absolutely perfect. We’re already hoping to return soon!

Visiting from Montana with other family joining us from CA for a total of 5 adults & 4 grandkids all under 3 yrs. A great base camp location to explore the surrounding canyon country this part of UT has to offer. Very homey & comfortable house with plenty of room & toys for the kids along with great views.
Sean was a great host with detailed instructions posted for using the property & check in & out was seamless. I’d stay here again when back in Torrey!

Wonderful location, great host, lots of room, comfortable beds, great kitchen(except for countertop oven), but just needed to divide up the lasagna and egg casserole to smaller baking pans.. all in all if you are traveling to capital reef this is the house to stay in! Hope to return

It was the perfect home base for our group to adventure in southern Utah for a week. The house was nicely kept and well suited for our small group. I loved the location just between towns yet close enough to food and other amenities. We will use this place again.

Our family and pets love this house for many reasons such as its excellent location, views, 5 + acre lot and the recent updates to the house has made it more attractive. Sean and Laura are great hosts, and the house has everything for daily needs. This is why we will most likely return for a 6th time, we strongly recommend this property...

Nice Getaway
We didn't spend much time at the actual house - but it was comfortable and clean. The basement was a cool relief from the desert sun. Thank you for the much needed break!

Secluded Desert Retreat
This place was great for our family of 5. Oodles of space. Everything you need. Amazing views. Best porch for coffee-sipping ever. It was charming in its age with delightful quirks, but refreshed in the important ways to make you comfortable. The host was prompt with communication. Would definitely stay here again for another relaxing desert getaway.

Quaint mid century homestead
Description and instructions for accessing the location were very accurate. We came with small children (4 under 5) and we underestimated all the toys the owners had onsite. Our kids could have stayed inside playing if we had allowed them. Property was fun to explore with the kids as well. Nicely decorated. Great CD collection that we took advantage of while we were there.
We came during the summer and the unit didn't appear to have AC, but the nights were cool and we opened windows. Oscillating fans were in bedrooms.
Would definitely stay again.
