My husband and I love to visit downtown Durango every year. This small getaway was perfect with a full kitchen and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The location couldn't have been better for us.

Really liked the Stonehouse Studio. Very cute and was in a very good location.

Our stay at the Stonehouse was fantastic! Comfy bed, enough space to move around, able to prep our own food, good shower, great location and a large garden with lounge furniture as well as a deck with grill made for great socializing space.
Location made grocery shopping, going out to eat and exploring all the downtown had to offer very accessible.
Had a great time and plan to return!

Steps away from downtown yet quiet with a beautiful outdoor deck and garden are to relax in. Kitchen equipped with everything you need. Comfortable bed and pillows. Clean and well lit. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

Clean, & handy to downtown Durango. For older Renters, however, the only shower is in a very tall, old fashion claw-foot tub which was dangerous to get in /out of. Therefore, we would caution older adults or anyone with physical limitations about that issue.

The studio was a comfortable, convenient retreat, as we spent much of our time visiting our son and family who live in Durango. Our daughter and her husband also rented the adjacent apartment, so we were able to share time on the central patio space. We won't hesitate to rent the Stonehouse Studio again - it was outstanding!

The studio was just as described in the listing. It was functional and pleasant. I enjoyed the location except for the blaring of the train horn at various times of the day. Parking was tight; but, it was free. The deck was nice on which to have breakfast; but the patio with its small gardens was a delight. George's welcome note was lovely and very much appreciated. Overall, the stay was enjoyable.

This loft apartment just one block from main street is full of character and coziness. It was an easy walk for us to all the downtown coffee shops, shopping, grocery store and restaurants. It’s also really quiet at night, for being so near main street. There is abundant natural light due to perfectly placed windows and skylights. The views from this charmer are better than those we’ve had at vrbo houses further up in the town. The electrical outlets are plentiful, everywhere you need them, no extension cords needed or searching for outlets. It’s filled with original artwork and handmade furtniture by the owner. Hogsback Mountain is perfectly framed by a skylight over the kitchen table. If you work remotely it’s a beautiful view to have over your computer screen. There’s a skylight right over the comfortable bed for stargazing. The kitchen has all the basics, and we easily cooked meals most of our stay. We highly recommend it and will be returning here every year!

My husband and I stayed at this perfect studio apartment! No tv, just lots of books including books on the history of Durango and the train. LOVED it! It was just what we needed! We were able to walk to the majority of the places. Took an Uber to the Durango Hot Springs and took in a play at the local theatre. Rode the train through the Cascade Canyons. This little place had almost everything that we needed. The shower was amazing! I love how it is decorated and filled with kitchen items. They even had a couple of blow dryers and hair spray. The bed was very comfortable!! The view of the mountains from the skylights/windows were breathtaking! A must stay place for a little getaway! The host was prompt in returning messages! 5 star all the way around!!

Oh my, where to begin…
The location - easy enjoyable walk to a wealth of stores, restaurants, train and lovely park.
The charming studio - truly the most complete, interesting and comfortable VRBO ever! The skylight over the bed made star gazing magical (and comfy).
Our Host - George was super nice, and even left us a lovely note along with a bottle of chilled wine.
We plan to book a return visit soon!

Perfect place for walking to anything and everything downtown, but just far enough to be peaceful. The space has so much charm and comfort, with some mid century meets farmhouse vibes, but also a simple and efficient european feel to it. Whatever you call it, it looks and feels great. The owner thought of everything! If it goes up for sale, I want to buy it! We have stayed here a number of times before and will be back for sure!

We loved this charming studio. I immediately felt I could live there, but we were in Durango for only 4 days, for a wedding. Everything about the studio is well thought out. The kitchen is completely stocked for any kind of cooking. We loved the art work and full supply of books, the AC was nice and the fans too. Apparently tiny elm beetles invade Durango and there was a nice letter about them. We finally decided to just make friends. We didn't have the opportunity to use it but there is a very pleasant, shaded courtyard. There are plenty of good quality towels and the best feature of all is the shower. The water pressure is strong snd feels like bathing under a warm waterfall. We definitely would stay again.

Loved the funkiness of the unit, loved the town, loved the location, and the showerhead must be the same one they use to wash elephants in the circus, it was awesome!
Also enjoyed the outdoor deck and lower fire pit area. We'll be back!

I used to live in Durango, and after moving to Denver, been to quite a few different properties when I come back to visit. This place absolutely exceeds them all. The location is amazing - you are right downtown and can walk basically everywhere. The property itself, at least for me and my lady, was absolutely perfect. It has everything you need and no unnecessary distractions - you come here when you want to truly enjoy and explore Durango. The owner was an excellent communicator, left us a really nice note and a bottle of wine. Can't say enough nice things about him!
All in all this is a 10/10 spot and we will be coming here every time we visit Durango from now on. I highly recommend this place!

Adorable delightfully appointed studio apt right in town. Easy to walk everywhere. We enjoyed our stay very much. There is a current infestation of invasive elm beetles in the region- not sure if anything can be done about it. It was the only drawback. We would most definitely stay here again.

We arrived to find elm beetles on the kitchen window and counters (maybe 100 or so) and crawling around in general. George came right over and said it's been an issue and they have provided a battery vacuum to suck them up. He offered us a full refund if we wanted to stay elsewhere. It was after 4 pm just before a weekend and we booked months ago. a hotel did not appeal so we stayed.... the apartment was a great location, the bed wonderful, the bath great... the beetles, ugh! They landed on you while you slept. They were a job to suck up every morning and evening and anytime you spent time in the unit. We didn't unpack really in hopes of not having them in our stuff....yet, they still travelled with us somehow as we killed 4 or 5 over the next couple of days in our car and at our next lodging. The beetles don't bite and are not harmful unless you are an elm but it was not a small issue and it was a known issue we should have been told about prior to our arrival.

I highly recommend staying at this place! It was a lovely, cabin like studio with newer finishes and a washer and dryer (bonus!). Host was nice and had great communication. Location is right at the end of Main St and walkable to everything downtown. A primo location! River trail is just a couple blocks away, and dirt trails are not far, plus you can drive to amazing sights around Durango. I would definitely stay here again!

Location less then a 10 minute walk to Main Street in downtown Durango. You have easy access to all roads leading to excursions in the area. Room very clean and comfortable. We both really enjoyed our stay.

We were on our way back home to Oklahoma and had picked this spot months earlier out of the blue. Everything about it was cool. Comfortable bed and furniture . Host was very kind and left us a welcome gift. All kinds of things all within walking distance!
Can't wait to come back and hide for a few days!

My husband and I stayed at this property in Oct. 2022 for a wedding. We still talk about this stay and how relaxing the room was. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go (outside of the airport) which made the stay even better! We will definitely book again if we ever find ourselves back in Durango.

We came for the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic and to visit our daughter. We stayed for 5 days and the studio was the perfect location. Located downtown and close to great restaurants, coffee and retail, we were able to walk to everything. The studio is a light filled attic space with windows and skylights letting in plenty of fresh air and sun. The bed is comfortable, great shower and has a convenient washer/dryer. We also enjoyed the private outdoor deck and garden/ patio space. Highly recommend! We hope to be back.
