About this cabin rental
Ruidoso, NM experienced several devastating wildfires & subsequent flooding in June & July. We are so blessed and fortunate that Alpine Escape survived! Unfortunately the surrounding area has suffered significant destruction with many homes & over 30,000 acres destroyed.
We continue to pray for all of those that have been affected with loss of life and possessions.
Alpine Escape is up and running and we ask that you please come to support the wonderful town and resilient people of Ruidoso. The town is perfectly in tact and the shopping & restaurants are open and thriving.
As of now we only lack internet at Alpine Escape and should have that up and running by mid November. But it is important for our guests to know that the views are now charred hills & homes lost. But Alpine Escape continues to be a solemn solitude for many. We thank you for your support and for the support of Ruidoso as we all work to rebuild this amazing town!
Perhaps one of the best locations in all of Ruidoso! ALPINE ESCAPE is a private cabin secluded under the pines at 7300 feet elevation in a quiet area north of town. Built in 2004, and perfectly situated on an inviting mountainside, about a mile south of Ski Run Road.
One stay at this property is sure to bring you back. The combination of professionally made rustic furniture and mountain decor, added to the Sierra Blanca view, make this one of Ruidoso's best cabins. There is a 600 sq foot redwood deck that wraps around the cabin with 250 feet of covered area for grilling or sitting around the fire table with your favorite people & wine. You'll love the hot tub at night where you will soak in the amazing moon and stars and delight in the complete serenity.
The cabin is abundantly stocked with all of the necessities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is appointed with lots of pots & pans, cooking utensils & daily dishes. There are two coffee makers, a Keurig and Mr. Coffee & the coffee & pods are provided.
Blow dryers are available in both bathrooms.
There is a full size washer & dryer and detergent is available if you need to wash a few clothes during your stay. Beach towels are provided for the hot tub and there are other towels available for wet pet paws or to dry your wet shoes on.
There is a hiking trail just off the deck where you can walk up to the private bench and soak in the view. You may see deer and occasionally an elk or wild turkey. In the Spring and Summer, the hummingbirds will entertain you as you sit on the deck and watch them come to the feeder 5-6 at a time!
There is a two car garage and room on the driveway for two additional cars.
The cabin is located just minutes from town and Ski Apache. The driveway is steep so please be sure to have snow chains and/or a 4 wheel drive vehicle in case of inclement weather. Ruidoso is such a fun town with boutiques, art galleries, wonderful restaurants & entertainment. Visit in September for the horse races or come in the winter to ski. Hike the national forest all year 'round or go horseback trail riding at one of the two local stables.
We welcome your small dogs to join you at the cabin. Maximum weight is 50 lbs. Two dogs are welcome with a $75 non-refundable pet fee per dog.
Please email with questions or call.

The place was nice I felt bad about all the people that lost their homes in the fire.

The cabin was ready when we arrived, as good as advertised. The ongoing communication with property manager was excellent. Keep up the good work

Our second trip to Ruidoso and we enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Much better option then a hotel, all the amenities of home with a great mountain tree lined view and variety of wildlife to see. Our favorite by far is the hummingbirds, provide entertainment and so energetic. First night we saw a male elk and several mule deer eating right below the deck. We are 'flat landers' (Houston) so the mountain one lane road and uphill drive were not our favorite but only due to the fact that it is not usual experience. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Very good. Kitchen stocked well, very comfortable beds, great showers, beautiful decks. There are a few minor things that need updating but they did not affect our enjoyment of the place.

A nice place to get away from the city in peace. Nice home with amenities. Go and come home relaxed and rested.

View is nice. House was clean. There are board games and a few random extras like sleds in the garage for when it snows. We didnt use any of that, but it was avaialable. About the only let down was there was a fire pit with three empty gas tanks. We hung out mostly on the patio so that was actually missed, but overall a nice place for a weekend.

I had a very nice time at Alpine Escape. Teresa, the property manager, is very easy to communicate with. The house was excellent for a mental health get away. It had everything I needed and more.

We had a great stay in Ruidoso. House was perfect with great views. Close to town and ski run road. Very comfy beds and everything you need for kitchen. Loved the hot tub. Not many stores opened this time of the year and some restaurants had limited hours. But we managed to find everything we needed.

The Ruidoso cabin had an amazing view of the valley and Ski Apache in the distance. Loved the huge porch, outside seating, grill and hot tub. Kitchen had lots of utensils, pots and pans. Beds were comfy. Cabin was clean. Nice garage that fit one of our cars. Too small for pickup truck and suburban but plenty of space to park. Need 4 wheel drive or chains if snow/icy. Driveway is steep. Saw elk on the property.

Nice location, good communication with property manager, and good lodging. Ease of access to main roads and access to Ruidoso proper. Would visit again.

The cabin was clean! Easy check in love how spaced away from everyone we were, we got to see deer on the outside and were able to even use the jacuzzi during the cold weather! Spacious enough for a family trip (came for thanksgiving.) the balcony has beautiful views! It was nice and quiet. About a 10 minute drive to downtown Ruidoso.

Beautiful area - right off the main road and convenient to everything in ruidoso area.
Very well organized and clean - owner/manager were very responsive.
Drive is narrow and steep but we fit a big truck and large van without issues.
Main living area is upstairs, so be aware of that!

If we could rate this 6 stars, we would. The location feels very private and has spectacular views, but yet is only about ten minutes from a great little downtown. The home is extremely clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, the hot tub is spotless, and they included little items to make the stay more comfortable (eg some condiments, spices, soap, etc) when we come back to Ruidoso, we would love to stay here again!

My family and I loved our stay at Alpine Escape. The view of Sierra Blanca was great. This place had the perfect vibes for relaxing with the family. I really appreciated how pet friendly it was here with cute dog dishes provided and gates on both ends of the patio to keep the dog contained while we enjoyed the porch. We didn't have to drive far to get into town to enjoy shopping or find the wild horses. We wished we could have stayed longer than a couple of days. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

This cabin was perfect for our family trip! Host thought of everything! Feeding the deer and watching the birds was so fun! Stargazing at night was perfect! Hot tub was ready to go when we got there! All in all this place was perfect for a family! My husband and I stayed upstairs and my daughter and family had the downstairs! Great place!

Comfortable stay. Grand kids enjoyed the hot tub and especially the Tic-Tac-Toe game. Weather was nice and cool. Even though there was "The Chance Fire" near by, the host assurred we were safe! We got to see the helicopters drop water beyond the horizon to put out fire. Hope to return for a second stay.

Everything is accurately described in the listing. Clean, beautiful, quiet. Everything we needed was there plus some. I didn’t think I would use the hot tub (I’m a bit of a germaphobe) but I was more than comfortable with the cleanliness of everything on the property. Evening soaks in the hot tub watching the sunset were amazing!

This property was fantastic! I'm currently a super host in TX. The host and owners have not missed a single thing with this vacation rental! Book it ...you won't be disappointed. Beds were super comfy, hot tub worked perfect and had the best views in Ruidoso, and the recliners after hiking a long day.(which all the most amazing trails are mins from this location) So many comforting amenities that it makes you feel like home away from home. Thanks Teresa for everything! We will definitely be back for snow season
