This lovely light-filled home is designed to maximize the superb ocean vistas. Everything about this getaway felt like kismet. I knew within hours of arriving that I wanted to extend my visit, but alas, this absolute gem was booked out through the summer (not surprised). The few days I had at Cari's sweet, well-appointed sanctuary were absolutely magical. I've never stayed on the forest side of Sea Ranch before, and I must say, it was otherworldly. I loved it and the walk down to the beach was breathtaking. I spent a lot of time on the deck making friends with the hummingbirds that frequently drank from the voluptuous planters of nasturtiums. It was idyllic and I was sad to leave, but I'll be back!

This is a thoughtfully designed and sited house. It is a space that is lovely to look at and that feels good to be in. It sits ion the hill side of Highway 1 and you have a nice view of the ocean across meadow and woods. There are neighboring houses, but it feels very private and is absolutely quiet. This is an exceptional rental property; think of it more as someone's very nicely furnished, very well equiped house that they happen to rent out. It is wonderful. Any caveats? Well, the circular staircase to the second floor is steep and narrow, just fine if your mobility is good but if not it could be a limitation. And the furniture is seriously nice--no place for anyone who is going to be hard on things. There's a reason this one is for adults only.

It was such a lovely stay. The home had everything we needed, it was stocked with every spice, coffee, supplies that you may forget to pack. We enjoyed the hot tub, beautiful views, serene peaceful walks on the trails. The home is decorated beautifully and was very clean. To top it off we brought our 12 year old dog and there were dog bowls, and a dog bed available to her.. a very nice touch. We would love to stay again.

A lovely comfortable home. Well stocked kitchen - nothing we couldn't find after looking a few times. Linens and towels top quality. Felt private despite some nearby homes. A bit of a walk to shore but very near forest paths in the red woods and Monterey pines.

Great house with beautiful views and fully stocked with everything you could need. The host was very responsive and accommodating. The spiral stairs are tricky to navigate with large pieces of luggage, so pack accordingly. The access to Stengel Beach is closed until 2025, but Shell Beach is just a bit further up the road and is wonderful!

This home is tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac and has a mostly unobstructed view of the meadow towards the ocean. Access to the forest trails is just a few yards from the front door. The home is was very clean, nicely decorated and the kitchen has everything you could ask for. We really appreciated the forced-air heat in addition to the large fireplace, both of which kept us warm on a chilly weekend. We weren't able to use the outdoor deck which is large, appointed with deck furniture & umbrellas... and a hot tub. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you to the owners for your attention to detail.

This comfy little house makes a lovely base of operations for a Sea Ranch visit. It's tucked on the slightly quieter east side of Highway 1, but it's not deep in the woods, so you'll feel a little more secluded without missing an ocean view. Meadow and forest trails are easily accessible, and if you're brave enough to cross the highway on foot, the beach is about a ten-minute walk away; if not, it's a two-minute drive. And people aren't joking when they say the house is well-appointed: if you want to use the kitchen, it's got all the equipment you might need and is completely stocked with all the staples.
But the best part is the host. Cari was consistently generous, thoughtful, and welcoming. She's the best!

The home was exactly as advertised - well appointed, very comfortable, great location and beautiful views of the ocean, wildlife and sunsets. We enjoyed our weeklong stay very much and would be happy to come again in the future.

Beautiful, relaxing home in Sea Ranch! Ocean views from the deck (dining and living rooms, too) were just stunning! Wonderful to sit on the deck and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening (we only had misty weather for a couple of days!) Great location for hikes and easy access to the various Sea Ranch beaches. As several guests have mentioned, the kitchen was incredible -- everything you needed to prepare meals (Vitamix, Kitchen Aid, etc.) Cari was very responsive when we had a question about door access. Wonderful vacation!

Beautiful property, nice view. I was expecting it to be on other side of HWY 1, but location was still lovely! The beds and couch was very comfy. The stairs leading to bedroom upstairs were an adventure for us older folk. Little narrow and steep for us.

This home has everything one would need for a weekend or even a week away! The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, utensils, etc to cook any meals needed. The location is wonderful and there are plenty of great walking/hiking trails right by. The beds are comfy and the shower has great water pressure. It is easy to feel relaxed and at peace when staying here.

We loved this property - the home is beautifully decorated, ultra comfortable in every way, plus 5 star kitchen, which was great for us as we ate in. Outdoor back deck with ocean view provides lovely setting to enjoy coffee, wine and snacks or just kick back and read for a bit. Access to beach and walks along the bluffs is close by and easily accessible via the path by the unit. We checked out Sea Ranch Chapel and spent a few hours in nearby Gaulala visiting art museums and shops, and visited St. Orres (hotel) - hoping for a drink, but unfortunately closed on Tuesday - but did enjoy the beautiful grounds and checking out the lovely, rustic bar. Thank you so much to the property host for creating and sharing this beautiful and truly luxurious space!

We loved our stay in this beautiful place. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could possibly need, the beds were comfy, the living room has a lovely couch for gazing out the panoramic windows to a view of a tree studded hillside and the deck is perfectly situated for ocean views and star gazing. The only possible improvement would be hand towels in the bathrooms and bath mats, but really it is a perfect place to enjoy the coast. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

The amenities and warm beautiful house was 5 star. We enjoyed the outdoor deck, sipping wine looking at the beautiful natural environment all around. The jacuzzi was great in the evening.Hiking trail just a few yards f the house.
Only down side was beach was not accessible by foot. Short drive to beach. We availed ourselves of the 3 great rec centers, swimming, sauna, playing tennis and pickleball. Had such a great time we tried to book an additional night but home was unavailable. Of all the homes we have rented, this is at the top of our list. Thank you to property owner who was very responsive.

Cari has a beautiful home. She provides all the possible amenities that you might need on a getaway from home. The beds were incredibly comfortable with lots of extra blankets. She has more books to choose from than you could ever imagine. There are plenty of beach towels. While we arrived fully stocked with food, if you forgot something Cari has you covered. The kitchen is a chef’s kitchen and has all your cooking needs. The deck was a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. We had a great time playing golf at Sea Ranch Links - they had very reasonable green fees. The hot tub was clean and easy to use and the perfect temperature. The BBQ was also easy to use and worked flawlessly. The house is in a quiet culdesac, making it an easy place to sleep at night with the windows open. Some tips, if you go with friends or family— the upstairs floor is squeaky so put the early risers downstairs. My only recommendation to Cari would be to carve out a little more space in the kitchen for people to put their food. And, like others have mentioned the stairs were a little tricky for me, but my husband enjoyed them. All in all, we loved the house and can’t imagine anyone not loving it. Thank you Cari for allowing us to use your home ❤️

As others have commented, this home is even better than the photos attest. It is located on a very quiet cul-de-sac, with nearby trails into the woods and grasslands. The porch is perfect for watching the ocean waves, and is adjacent to the very well stocked kitchen. The home was very clean when we arrived, with ample firewood. The spiral staircase that leads to the upper bedroom and bath (and laundry) was a bit difficult to navigate multiple times a day, but there's a bedroom and full bath downstairs for anyone with mobility problems. We would definitely stay here again, as the home had everything our 4-person group needed. Also, Sea Ranch is amazing! Hard not to have a relaxing time there.

Extremely well-appointed rental. Tons of kitchen wares, linens, etc. Very luxe feel. Downstairs primary bedroom with shower. Upstairs bedroom with tub. Lots of nooks for reading, napping, daydreaming. The spiral staircase to get upstairs is fun — but tight. Pack light if you’re the upstairs guest. 😉. Fireplace looked inviting but we didn’t need it. Nicely dark at night to see the stars. Host provides a lot of lanterns and flashlights… just in case .

We absolutely loved our stay at Cato’s sea ranch home. It is obvious that she takes pride in providing a comfortable stay—there were so many plush and lovely linens, everything you could need in the kitchen, and the sun deck (we were lucky with the weather!) was perfect. We left one day for a hike along the beach but otherwise we’re completely content staying put. Thank you!

This place is immaculate. It has everything you can think of. This is one the best homes we’ve ever stayed in. It was our first trip in a while without our kids and it was literally perfect. We will FOR SURE back back to Cari’s beautiful home by the ocean. We loved it more than anything.
