HD Ranch is an amazing and unique find. In the morning we sipped coffee on the porch watching the birds. The hounds usually stopped by for scratches and cookies as well. In the evenings we watched beautiful sunsets. The clear skies and minimal light pollution offered brilliant star gazing.
Francie is wonderful and responsive and took care of issues as they arose. We were a bit bummed the hot tub was broken, but we understand the difficulty in getting service and parts.
The property is remote, yet close enough to Durango to pop in for dinner or supplies. The guest house is comfortable, with all the necessary amenities for a short or long stay. The AC unit did have a bit of difficulty due to the heat, so the house got a bit warm in the afternoons, but opening the windows at night cooled it off quickly.
It's a working horse ranch, if you enjoy horses and dogs you'll feel right at home. If you're looking quiet and serenity this is the place

A beautiful peaceful place. We felt like we were on the prairie 100 years ago.

We loved staying at Francie’s ranch for our elopement in Silverton. It was so quaint and the cutest log cabin. We enjoyed gazing up at the stars the night we got married as well.
Be prepared for the dogs to come by and pay a visit! Our daughter loved them.

This property was beyond amazing. We loved feeding the horses and giving the hounds treats each day. Gorgeous mountain views!

What a great property. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with stunning views this place is for you. This place was just right for our group to go to purgatory and go skiing. Property owner is very nice. We had everything we needed provided for us. Highly recommend!!!!

We arrived and everything was even better than the ad! We had a few inches of snow while we were there and it was beautiful. We will definitely be back.

My family had a wonderful stay on the working horse ranch. It’s incredibly beautiful and peaceful. France was very accommodating and the ranch foreman Chris was amazing as well. Our son got to pet the horses, play in the snow, and ride on the tractor. Would highly recommend this property to your family for a memory you won’t forget.

HD ranch is a beautiful, serene place to soak in all of the wonders of the Durango area! The guest house was very clean, organized and well suited to experiencing the whole rural southwest CO lifestyle. I am a horse person so I loved waking up to horses in the fields around the guest house, and visiting with the horses when they were near the fence lines. And the hound dogs are super friendly and came to visit me every morning! Only thing that could have been better was the hot tub needs updated—jets didn’t work and the bottom was eaten away a bit by the hard water. Overall it is a great place to stay and I will recommend it to friends who are planning on visiting the Durango area!

The ranch was absolutely gorgeous the cabin was very clean and organized and cozy! The dogs were super friendly and fun, the hot tub was amazing especially at night when the sun is setting.

This place was a breath off fresh air quiet and away from all the traffic in Durango. The host and ranch foreman were extremely nice would definitely stay here again. Make sure you have everything you need before you get here it’s almost 30 minutes to town. Great place!!!

Perfect sceneries and Stars at night! It was easy to find even though it is about 12 miles out in the country. Stayed 3 nights and would do it again in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed our stay and found the location to be very quiet and relaxing. The 20-minute drive into Durango provided the great combination of convenience without being too close to town. We also found the home to be a great base for day trips to Mesa Verde National Park, Four Corners, and the Durango-Silverton railroad. Lots of excellent dining options in Durango, but the house is also equipped with everything needed for meals at home. The views from the deck, both day and night, are amazing. Great place to unwind.

My partner and I stayed for a couple of nights at the ranch and it was awesome. A great choice for glamping.

beautiful views of incoming storms from the porch and kitchen windows. Quiet and peaceful. LOVED the hound dogs visiting for dog biscuits in the morning. A great place to rest in a stunning part of CO. I'd come back anytime in the area!

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The ranch was beautiful, the guest house was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient for easily getting around to places like Durango and MesaVerde. The owner is available if needed and the friendly ranch hounds stopped by on occasion to say hello. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the cabin while visiting Durango. It was perfect for my family. The cabin was very clean and spacious. We had everything we needed and coffee was provided. We met the hounds and enjoyed giving them pets and a treat each day.
Pro tip: Step outside after the sun goes down and look at the stars. It's spectacular to view the milky way from your doorstep.
I would definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful place to stay! We loved seeing the horses and the hounds. We wish we had planned to stay longer. Perfect location to access Durango, Mesa Verde and surrounding areas.

Our quick two night stay was great in this peaceful hideout. It reminded us of our cabin in AZ! The hounds were a great treat, they helped us not miss our pups back in TX! Yes the water had a smell, no big deal, we would stay there again if we ever go back!

Great space, easy!

Plenty- too much to do in the area.
Thought I would be able to watch the horses from the stoop of the cottage.

The guest house is beautifully situated on a working ranch. Enjoyed meeting the hounds and seeing the horses. The guest house was comfortable, easy to get to, and quiet. We really appreciated how accommodating Francie is. Thank you!
4.8
Francie perfectly characterized her cabin as well as the surrounding ranch. The mountains form the perfect backdrop for the charming cabin. If you're looking to avoid crowded Durango and yet be able to pop into town when you desire, then this is your place.

Beautiful place to stay while we were on our honeymoon. The view was fantastic and we loved the visits from the hounds.

The ranch was beautiful and the hound dogs made it all just perfect!
4.8
Our stay was everything we wanted it to be. Getting off the road on a cross country trip, a perfect place to unwind and take in nature. The cabin has great views from all rooms and Francie was there if we needed her.. The horses and dogs added to the experience. We wish we had booked another day.

My wife and I stayed here for several days at the end of March and it was glorious. The scenery is awesome all around and there is easy access to rrall that SW Colorado has to offer. Francie is an excellent host and we are seriously considering a return trip next winter with our kids!
4.8
The property is great and the guest house was cute and cozy, but the county road leading to property made it difficult to get to. It was muddy and full of potholes (winter). Thankful we had our truck.

This was our second time to stay in Francie’s cabin and once again we loved every second of it!! Her beautiful ranch with horses was the icing on top. The cabin is warm and cozy and had the perfect amount of space for our family vacation. We received so much snow that we decided to spend to entire days at the cabin instead of driving in to town and we never ran out of things to do. The kitchen is well stocked, the couch comfy, hot tub perfectly hot, and plenty of room to play in the snow! We even accidentally left two items and Francie was kind enough to ship them back to us. We will absolutely be back and will recommend her cabin to anyone looking to stay in the area!
4.8
This was perfect for me and my husband! Very private and very close to Durango to go do things! Loved the stars at night in the hot tub, and if we are ever back that way again definitely will be booking again!
