Whale Hale is a spacious 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath home proudly perched on the bluff above Queens Bath in Princeville, Kauai' where you can see and hear the ocean. From the grand entry staircase to the family friendly living rooms and game room this home was designed to suit large parties or intimate gatherings. This 3,800 square foot home has gorgeous views from every window. It's a short hike down to the Queens Bath where you can swim in a natural ocean pool (summer months). There are views of the golf course and ocean views on 3 sides of the house!
Three bedrooms have a private en-suite bathroom. This home is stylishly furnished and every effort has been made to accommodate your needs. We've even included beach towels, beach chairs and snorkel gear for use during your stay.
The upstairs area includes a full service kitchen with a gas cooktop plus another full electric range, two dishwashers and a large pantry. A center island provides plenty of work surface for multiple cooks in the kitchen. And there are granite countertops throughout. The enormous open plan airy room has a vaulted ceiling. Additionally there is a game room for loads of indoor fun.
One of the bedrooms is upstairs with an ensuite bathroom and views of the mountains, golf course, and ocean. This room has a Queen bed.
The other four bedrooms are on the ground level. They comprise 2 master suites and two bedrooms with 2 single beds each. These single rooms can be converted to Kings for a fee of $150 per bedroom. The single bedrooms have a separate guest bath to share. One of the master suites looks like a small studio with a private sitting area.
Outdoor amenities allow you to enjoy our amazing Kauai weather and views. In the back yard, facing the ocean, is a free standing spa pool with jets that can accommodate up to 10 people. There are sitting areas on all 3 decks with an outdoor living sofa set on the back lanai overlooking the ocean. The large front deck boasts views of the golf course and beach and includes a large dining table with oversized bistro umbrella. This is a perfect area to enjoy sunset cocktails and dinner. There is also a ping pong table in the garage which will allow for hours of fun - especially when we're having one of our tropical showers that keep the garden island green and lush.

Within one and a half miles are two world class golf courses, several beaches, the Princeville Shopping Center and the St. Regis Princeville Resort with its amazing restaurants and beach. A short drive in either direction allows you to enjoy all that Hanalei Bay has to offer as well as surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding and helicopter tours.

As soon as you walk in, you know it’s a special place. The views are spectacular and the house was well stocked with everything a family may need. Just steps from Queen’s bath, which was such a treat for the kids to go and swim there in the mornings (make sure to only go in low tide!). Staying here made for an unforgettable vacation. Will always remember watching the sunrise from the gorgeous lanai.

There were 8 of us at Whale Hale and we all had such an amazing time. The kids loved the swim spa and the air hockey table. The breeze from the tradewinds felt so good. The beds were comfortable. I loved grilling with a view of Hanalei and the gorgeous purple sunset. Everything about the house was perfect. 10/10 would recommend and would absolutely stay again!

Great views! Well stocked kitchen and baths… plenty of space for all of us. Hot tub was working marginally- could only use it a couple nights. But loved the sunrises and sunsets on the patios, and meals on the front porch overlooking Bali Hai was spectacular.

This house acrually surpassed our expectations …which never happens in rentals. The views were beyond amazing and the house itself in pristine conditions. I really enjoyed the lack of clutter throughout that you often see in VRBO properties. It was clean, neat & updated. Also the beach chairs, towels, coolers, etc were a nice add. Did I mention the 12 person hot tub????

After we stopped gazing at THE VIEWS, we really enjoyed this spacious home complete with 2 dishwashers, 2 stoves, and 2 washer/dryers! The home is clean and well stocked. We'd return in a heartbeat.

Overall communications and property were stellar. Our combined family’s group of nine never felt crowded, ample space for all and the location allowed us to have morning outings, regroup and head back out for remainder of the day which included sunsets every evening Spectacular views from both sides of the house provided sunrise and sunset vistas! Spacious and well appointed, even had 2 washers and dryers- a great feature. Overall, highly recommend this property - only callout was the hot tub, couldn’t get jets or lights to turn on but never reached out to property manager as it was our very last evening but not a deal breaker— fantastic stay!

We had seen pictures of this house online, but when we walked in we were still amazed. It's absolutely stunning, and the views are breathtaking. We loved sitting on the lanais, drinking coffee, and relaxing. We also enjoyed the pool, air hockey and ping pong tables. There were 5 adults and 4 children in our group and these were things we could all do together. Thank you for sharing your spacious and beautiful home with us.

Why did we absolutely LOVE this house? Let me count the ways, not necessarily in order…
1. Location- Princeville is upscale, quiet, close to beaches and Hanalei. It is paradise and by far our favorite place on the island. Saturdaytheyhad a coolfarmers market upthe road at Makai Golf Course where we got tropical flowers and fruits.
2. Views- the back lanai looked over the ocean for miles and we saw waves crash into lava rock below. This was the number one place we hung out. (Isaw whales first time ever! And front lanai at Hanalei Bay and Bali mountains. The family was blown away by the sunset and surroundings.
3. Amenities- the Kitchen had every appliance and gadget one could need! We grilled on the gas grill in the garage too. With 2 dishwashers and washer dryer sets this was convenient for our big group. There was air hockey and ping pong but didnt use those because the weather was amazing.
4. Space- we had 7 and never felt crowded. Huge kitchen, dining with tons of windows and natural light. Plenty of space everywhere.
5. Toys- tons of snorkel gear, chairs, coolers, towels, floaties.
6. Clean and new- for the most part it felt like a new home. Modern and lovely furnishings.
7. The geckos- pretty green and blue ones sunbathe daily on the front deck.
A+ we would stay here again no hesitation!

The house was beautiful! The view was awesome, saw a lot of whales. The only disappointing factor was there was no pool table which was pictured in the posting. Tons of Beach amenities which was very helpful. Fully stocked kitchen, paper goods. The hot tub was great. We had a great time and Lia and Tanya were great communicators.

This was a beautiful house to stay in with plenty of space. The view of the ocean off was great and it was a nice quite neighborhood. Only downside is there being no AC, but the additional fans helped cool down the house.

Wonderful house with gorgeous views! Close to shopping in Princeville and Hanalei. Close to beaches at Hanalei and Anini. Plenty of room for large groups. We had 8 people.

The house is amazing great layout kitchen well equipped property manager is great to work with. The neighborhood is beautiful very safe we had a family of seven adults plenty of room. Location is perfect for North shore activities enjoy the farmer markets.

Beautiful Home for Family vacation
This home was perfect for our family vacation/wedding. We had plenty of room for 9 adults and 1 infant. The location and views were great. Easy to get anywhere and convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. We enjoyed watching whales and enjoying sunrise and sunsets each day. It was everything we hoped for and more. Perfect Family Vacation Spot
Beautiful view of the coast. House was spacious for a family of 10 plus our 3 yo grandson. All the rooms were comfortable. Hot tub overlooking the ocean was a special treat. Kitchen was well equipped enough to cook almost every meal at the house. Very clean and filled with natural light. Pool table was a surprise and perfect way to pass the in between moments.

Beautiful views
Great layout 4 bedrooms downstairs and 1 upstairs! We loved that there was 2 stoves 2 dishwashers 2 washers 2 cloths dryers! The house is close to stores a short drive to some great beaches!

What a wonderful getaway oasis!
We absolutely loved this house! We started with a group of five and this property is more than large enough to handle a group twice the size. Everything you could ever want was here, with a well stocked kitchen and pantry, toiletries, even beach towels and chairs!
The view from all sides of the property was nothing short of magical. My mom literally cried looking at it (she’s a bit dramatic, but still, it was a thing to see.)
The neighborhood is safe and quiet and very easily located just a short drive from a shopping center with everything you could need, including the best shave ice stand in all of Kauai! (Believe me, I tried so many, and it was the best!).
The hot tub is extremely spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped, and Lia and her local point of contact were very responsive throughout. Just a pleasure of an experience from start to finish! My parents are already asking us to plan for a return trip. Please don’t tell too many other people about this place! :)

Beautiful property, can get warm
Beautiful property exactly as advertised. Amazing water and mountain views. 2 min walk from the start of Queens Bath hike. Good communication with host. We visited in August and since there is no AC some of the rooms got pretty hot even with fans and windows open. Keep in mind if you have guests that are sensitive to the heat.

Fantastic Family Celebration
Our family of ten loved the house and amenities: the dining table fit all of us comfortably and everyone had her/his own room or suite. There was plenty of room for time together as well as options for time apart. The views were spectacular and both the property owner and manager were exceptionally accessible and helpful. Our family is grateful for being able to be all together for our 50th anniversary.

Fantastic location, great views
This house is located in a terrific location, providing fantastic views of the ocean, and lots of privacy (other than the LOUD roosters waking us at 5am). It is walking distance to the trailhead for the hike down to Queen's Bath, which is a huge bonus (cars wait in line for hours to park for the hike, which is great). The house is comfortable and has plenty of room, however be aware that the floors are very slippery (we had an elderly grandmother with us and tried to keep her on the top floor, but that bathroom has a tub so she had to shower downstairs). There is also no AC, so one is forced to keep all the doors and windows open to keep the house temperature at a bearable level. So if one is leaving for the day and locking up, the house takes a while to cool back down upon returning. In addition, the lack of humidity control means that some door locks are rusted and not working properly, and the kitchen cabinets are in need of cleaning/renovating. I did not feel secure leaving valuables at the house given the fact that we left screened windows open to keep it from getting too hot. The neighborhood seems very safe, and is beautiful, but it is not gated or monitored. Overall, we would stay here again, but just some things to be aware of when you are booking. My husband and son played golf on the adjacent course, and said it was the best course they've ever played at! Nice paths for runners as well. Also, there is only a small grocery store in the neighborhood, so best to stock up at Costco or Safeway in Lihue before making the drive up to Princeville. As an aside, we booked helicopter tours with Blue Hawaiian and they were fantastic! Well worth the price.

Perfect first visit
Lia was very accomodating for our stay. So much to do in on the North Side. We just fell in love. Different beach and hike every day. Back porch was lovely in the mornings for coffee and the evenings for wine. Truly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you!

Incredible house in Kauai
This is a lovely house in a very quite area. The porches are a lovely opportunity to listen to the ocean. The access to two washers and dryers was a huge help with 10 people. The two larger bedrooms feel like suites. The upstairs (main) floor is simply stunning and spacious with unbelievable views and room for everyone to stretch out. The only issue I had with a ceiling fan was addressed by the management. I was sorry that the area didn't have recycling pick-up; however, we were able to use grocery bags and take all our sorted recycling to nearby transfer station upon our departure. I was not aware that the houses in Hawaii often do not have air conditioning (coming from Texas) so it wasn't as cool at night as I like; however there are many ceiling fans and portable fans to compensate. The kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked with all the equipment you need along with an extra small fridge for drinks and two dishwashers. The screen doors didn't all lock, which was disclosed so we had to close them when we went out (that does warm up the house a bit). It was truly a lovely space to stay for my daughter's wedding.

Fantastic property in great location
My family and I had an amazing time in Princeville at this beautiful property. The views of both the mountain range overlooking Hanalei Bay and the Pacific Ocean are breathtaking. The house itself was fully stacked with all the amenities we needed for a more than comfortable stay with a full kitchen, outdoor grill, heated jacuzzi, and even had a wide range of beach toys available for us to use. Highly recommend this property for families or large groups.

Perfect place to stay
Our visit was incredible. We could not have asked for a better house to our visit to Princeville. The property manager was very responsive when we had an issue and had it fixed immediately. If we ever return to Kauai we will see if this house is available first! Good for large families.
