About this house rental
We built our beautiful family summer home in 1984 and did a full renovation in 2007, making it a wonderfully comfortable place to be year-round. The house was designed by a close family friend and well-known architect (who also designed her own home nearby, and 2 other neighbors' homes), and has hand-hewn post and beam construction with high ceilings, lots of open space and tons of light. The setting is a quiet, serene oasis--with just 3 other houses in the area it feels far removed from the touristy hustle and bustle while still being a short drive from the island's best beaches, shopping and restaurants.
The house has a large first-floor primary suite with a king-sized bed (with a new mattress as of fall 2019); modern, luxury-grade, spacious, and ADA accessible bathroom; and office/sitting area. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with 2 twins) that share a large bathroom with a tub/shower. There is also an upstairs sitting area, which can function as an additional bedroom, with a queen-sized pull-out couch, TV and desk.
The downstairs is very open, and the kitchen, dining room, sun-room and living room all connect, making it an ideal place to spend time with family and friends.
There is an amazing modern kitchen (cook's dream!) fully-equipped with a 5-burner Dacor gas range, 2 Dacor convection wall ovens, a full-sized dishwasher, a large refrigerator as well as a smaller pull-out drawer refrigerator, and tons of counter space (ideal for cooking meals for a group). It is well-stocked with pots, pans, and dishes for large group meals. The dining room table can seat 8 comfortably. There is also a beautiful sun room/family room which has an additional table for informal meals, a large flat-screen TV and lots of space for relaxing.
When we renovated, we upgraded and modernized the entire house and made the downstairs fully ADA wheelchair-accessible--including the kitchen, primary suite and a ramp leading up to the house and deck area. In 2022 we installed 4 energy efficient heat pumps throughout the house (one in each bedroom and another in the main living area) which provides air conditioning throughout the home on warmer days in the summer.
The house has an outdoor shower and a beautiful deck with teak outdoor furniture that overlooks the meadow and wraps around 3 sides of the house. We also have a great Weber Platinum outdoor grill that's connected to the house's gas line.
There is a large yard that is great for kids, soccer/football games and outdoor eating. The house is located next to the bike path that connects the entire central part of the island. Rent includes a walk-on pass to the stunning and family-friendly Lambert's Cove beach that is just a short drive away.
In the peak weeks of summer (July 1-Labor Day) we only can rent on a Saturday to Saturday schedule (7 night minimum) because of the limited availability of cleaners to handle multiple turnovers a week.

Our return to the Vineyard after a 4 year hiatus did not disappoint! This property was perfect for our family. Gorgeous setting, quiet, centrally located. We enjoyed our stay.

The house really is a gem.
The location is serene: tucked away in the West Tisbury woods opening up to the meadows of Nat’s Farm. We’d watch the deer grazing in the morning mist, the geese coming in to land throughout the day, and turkeys parading at dusk.
The architecture and layout are really special. We cooked seafood dinners in the kitchen and ate out on the deck almost every night. When someone needed their own space, either to get some work done or just to retreat, the house provided enough distance and separation so that everyone could still enjoy themselves. And even in the height of summer, the ceiling fans were enough to keep us cool.
The host was very responsive and helpful leading up to our trip. (I’ll even employ their father’s cleaning tips at my own home now.)
The only areas that could have been better were the bathrooms and some of the cooking units. The fixtures in the showers seemed lower grade and gave us some trouble. One felt like you needed a spanner to turn it. Another snapped off in my wife’s hand.
On the cooking side, the gas grill and the oven were so soiled they actually limited their effectiveness. We had to cook most of our food on the stove. This may have been a result of our stay being later in the season, but I’d still expect better given the price tag.
Overall, though, it was a very pleasant stay. We hope to be back next year!

Nat’s Farmhouse is a hidden gem in West Tisbury! Overlooks a farm, bike path, short drive to the best beach on MV. Two floors of spacious living and amenities to fit our entire family. From the grill, outdoor shower, and amble cooking supplies... it’s everything you can possibly need to have the perfect Vineyard vacation!!

Repeat renters still a great place to stay. Smaller group this year so we each had our own little area to enjoy our space and privacy. All amenities are provided. Really , very little is needed to pack for your stay.. Hope to return next year.

Having rented many homes on Martha's Vineyard, I can honestly say this was superb. Very well provisioned, wonderful kitchen, and the meadow beyond the house was almost as beautiful to look at as a water view. We were delighted with it!!

This was our first time renting on Martha's Vineyard and we were really happy with the house. More than and other house rental I can remember, this one felt like home. The kitchen is very well appointed and the backyard, which borders a large field and trails, is gorgeous. We also found the location to be really ideal -- close to the ferry, beaches, and shops.

My family and I have been renting houses on Martha's Vineyard for over 20 years. We typically stay in West Tisbury, but have stayed on other parts of the island as well. The most perfectly located house we've ever stayed has been Nat's Farm House! Situated in the middle of the island, this house is convenient to everything - 20 minutes drive to the furthest reaches of the island.
In addition to a wonderful back deck and large yard, the view from the back was spectacular - overlooking the Nat's Farm Nature Conservatory is a treat I've never experienced on MV. And the house is only a few hundred yards from the bike path!
The house itself has a wonderful lay out with an open floor plan giving the house a pleasant, breezy feel. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are all open and connected, with plenty of places to hang out with friends or to tuck away to read a book. The kitchen is as described - with everything anyone could ever need. We prepared almost every meal in that wonderful kitchen - and whatever can't be found in the kitchen, can be found on shelves in the basement!
The caretaker for the house is very responsive and a pleasure to work with! Any time I contacted him with questions, he was quick to repond and always provided the answers I needed.
Renting from the Greenes was a wonderful experience! I plan to return!!

As a byproduct of my profession, I tend to question the validity of written reviews and pictures so it's with great pleasure that we discovered that not only are the pictures of this property and other renters' reviews valid but they may even be understated, if that's possible! This property and the owners allow you to feel the comforts of home while being away from home and enjoying time on the island.
We (a friend, her dog, and I) were heading to the island for a relaxing long weekend and the beauty of this house's construction/floor plan, large backyard, acceptance of a dog, and owner's property description spoke to us and we were not disappointed. Prior to our trip, the owners provided an informative write-up of the house, the neighboring area and other key island sites (best place for lobster rolls!). The caretaker met us at the house a short time after our arrival to give a tour of the house and to stress he was only a phone call away if we had any questions or encountered any problems.
Since this was a long weekend of relaxation and cooking wasn't permitted, we could only admire the chef's kitchen that I'm sure others will enjoy cooking in. The linens and towels were of high quality and the furniture was very comfortable. Other features that made us feel at home included the family sharing their photo album of the home's construction, having an extensive book collection for all ages and interests, and maintaining a drawer of dog items.
As noted in the property's description and somewhat being familiar with the island, this property is in the middle of the island and, therefore, is a short-drive from anywhere you wish to go. If you're travelling with children, they won't have a chance to say "are we there yet" because you get to most places in 10-15 minutes! ; )
I highly recommend this property to all potential renters that are seeking a quality location to reside while visiting the island. It's obvious the owners take pride in their home and want to ensure that all visitors have a wonderful stay. Mission accomplished for our visit! We've already booked a return visit for later this year.
