Kicking Horse Mountain Resort located outside Golden, B.C., is in the Canadian Rockies at the juncture of the Continent's three most majestic ranges: the Purcell and Selkirk Mountains and Rocky Mountains, and the confluence of the Kicking Horse, and Columbia Rivers.
The Resort overlooks five spectacular National Parks: Banff, Glacier, Kootenay, Yoho and Mount Revelstoke. It is a place of rare natural beauty and an unbelievable array of activities for all seasons!
This award-winning design, well-appointed and welcoming slope-side condo is beautifully furnished in hard wood and nature themes throughout the master bedroom (queen bed), second bedroom (twin over queen bunk bed with TV), full kitchen, sit-up bar, and comfortable living room with a 32' flat screen TV and pull-out couch. To ensure the comforts of home, and a little extra pampering there is Wi-fi, internet, underground parking, heated tile floors and your own private luxurious outdoor hot tub with fabulous mountain views!
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is known for it's Champagne powder, and has everything from steep chutes for the powder hounds, to green runs for the kids, as well as snow-tubing runs, a skating rink, and both cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails. The gourmet Eagle's Eye Restaurant at the top of the gondola (elev. 7700 ft) offers heavenly meals and views, while other great restaurants and pubs, grocery/liquor sales, equipment rental and purchase, and lessons are available at the base area.
In winter there is easy access to back-country ski touring, heli-skiing, cat-skiing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding, tobogganing, ice-climbing and ice-fishing in the area.
Kicking Horse is a truly great place to visit in the summertime too - as the gondola and chair lift are open for sight-seeing, hiking or downhill mountain biking access, and the scenery is simply fantastic! For even more excitement plan a visit to see 'Boo' - the resident adult male grizzly bear who was orphaned as a cub and now lives in a 22 acre enclosure in the middle of the mountain where naturalists give talks about bears and their habitat throughout each day.
Other activities to do nearby in the summer include: whitewater rafting, hang-gliding and paragliding (for which Golden is famous), Canoe/kayaking, fly-fishing, ATV tours, Jet boat tours, horseback riding, cross-country and downhill mountain biking, Wolf Interpretative center, swimming in nearby Cedar Lake or in town at the outdoor pool.
In the town of Golden, 15 minutes drive from the Resort, the vibrant local culture is featured in the many local festivals, as well as tennis courts, skateboard park, groceries, spa services, shopping, excellent restaurants, and walking trails along the river, complete with local art.
On the way down to Golden, (only a 10 minute drive away), is the Golden Golf Course boasting an 18 hole championship course, that is consistently rated 4/5 by Golf Digest Magazine, with Hole # 11 ranked as 'the Best Par 4 in BC' by Score Golf TV and magazine, and boasting unparalleled mountain views from each hole!
And don't forget to bring your camera for possible wildlife encounters - as on a recent drive from Calgary to Kicking Horse: deer, bighorn sheep, a moose, two young grizzlies, and two black bears were all spotted in one evening!

We visited Golden to take part in the Golden Ultra trial race. The condo provided a great place to relax after the race. We particularly loved the hot tub. Very clean and comfortable. The host was responsive and we really appreciated the accommodations he made for us.

Loved this place! Best in Golden, I assure you. No condiments including salt, sugar, or coffee, so plan accordingly. Great pans and utensils. The gas grill is on its last leg but worked!

Located at the outskirt of a mountain resort, the property was a perfect starting point to visit the National Parks close to Golden, BC.

This stay was a great home base to explore the surrounding national parks. Rick’s home was clean, the kitchen was stocked, and the hot tub was awesome! We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back to enjoy the resort in the winter!

Very nice condo, very clean. Loved the hot tub after a day of activities.

Place is awesome, the hot tub is a cherry on top.

Great spot for a 2 night stay in the summer. The girls loved the bunk beds, the board games and we even enjoyed a DVD. There were too many mosquitoes to enjoy the hot tub, so remember your bug repellent. We also enjoyed the resort near Boo, gondola and a hike along the mountain ridge.

Nice property great location.

The property was clean and well maintained. This unit is a middle unit in the Aspens, so it’s smaller than the outside units and less private. We usually stay at the Aspens 3-4 times a year and have never stayed in a middle unit. We found it to be harder to fit the family inside with ski gear.
On arrival the dryer we were informed the dryer was broken. This is a big inconvenience for our family on a ski trip, trying to dry wet mitts from spring skiing and bathing suits from the hot tub in a small condo was difficult. Rick informed me it had been broken for several guests, I would have appreciated knowing that ahead of arrival so we could have packed extra mitts and swimsuits.
One of our kids had a nosebleed in the night and we were charged $50 which was fair, but we weren’t give a price reduction for the broken laundry.
A nice clean unit, but we have enjoyed other units

We stayed at the condo as our base for day trips to Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. We did an amazing hike at Parker Ridge, rode e-bikes from Banff to Lake Minnewanka, and visited Lake Louise and Morraine Lake. The condo was was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. It definitely a plus to have a washer and dryer. Overall our family had a great time in the Canadian Rockies.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Aspens at Rocking Horse Resort! I was very comfortable and enjoyed a range of outdoor activities!

Enjoyed our stay very much. The location was very convenient to the hill. The deck had beautiful exposure to the sun for sunbathing and hot tubbing.

A little dated and only one bathroom. But good location and well supplied.

Wonderful, well equipped condo. Great location for ski in and out. Clear communication from the owner. Highly recommend this property.

This property was cozy and comfortable and we wished we had booked a longer stay here. Not only that, but the location was perfect. So close we could ski down to the lifts.

We had a wonderfully time staying at Ricks place. Check in instructions were easy to follow and all went flawless. The condo is at the ideal location and is right on the mountain. Kitchen is fully stocked and i had everything i needed to cook dinners almost every evening. Any question i had i received a reply almost immediate. Lots of boar games for kids to play. We loved the hot tub and the views of the mountain. We cannot wait to return to Ricks place on our next holidays!

This was a delightful vacation right on the hill for our family. The condo had all the amenities and we very much enjoyed our stay!

Clean place with all the amenities you need. 2nd bedroom is a bit small though and the underground parking is tiny. You can ski back to the condo, but you need to walk to the end of the street (400m) to ski to the lifts.

Enjoyed our stay here. Good location. Easily accessible from the ski hill. Had everything we needed. Smaller than other condos in Aspens we have stayed in, but this was not an issue for us. Enjoyed the bigger TV screen -- most of the condos have small screens. There were a lot of young kids staying in the complex when we were there so it was a bit noisy with lots of thumping overhead, but overall a good stay here.

We stayed at this property for a week and enjoyed every minute. We stayed at a number of different places on the hill and this one was great. Will be booking again!

Always a great time at Kicking Horse. So nice to be right at the hill. This condo always has all that we need and the casual living space is great for family time.

This is a nice condo 15 km near Golden and very well located for visiting the Yoho National Park and the Glacier National Park. The condo is well equipped for 4-5 persons to stay, the kitchen contains everything you need. The hottub is a wonderfull place to relax. Rick was a very good host, providing us with all information concerning details of blockade of highway 1 caused by reconstruction.

Really enjoyed this nice, comfortable property right at the bottom of the ski area.

We stayed at this property for the Golden Ultra race weekend. We were 5 adults and 1 infant and it was very tight. Although it sleeps seven, as soon as you have a little bit of running gear (Cannot imagine bike gear or winter snow gear) the place becomes very crowded. The amenities were all exactly as listed, the kitchen was super well stocked to make our meals. Parking was a breeze, views were stellar. We didn't use the hot tub but the patio was lovely. Would stay again with a smaller group!

This cozy lodge was nice and close to the resort less than 10minute walk. The weather was gorgeous, couldn't have asked for more out of the trip.

A great condo for a weekend of biking with friends. We enjoyed the proximity to many bike trails and Cedar Lake. Enjoyed a lot of hours on the deck in the sunshine!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo is well equipped.
We were not able to access Netflix etc but made use of the DVDs.
The resort is quite quiet in the summer but it was worth seeing the grizzly bear and taking the gondola to the top for a hike. Golden skybridge and whitewater rafting with Glacier were great days out.

We booked this condo for ourselves and our visitors from Arizona. They had not been to Canada before and we wanted to show them parts of B.C. and Park area. We were challenged by the weather but made the best of it. The condo is perfect for 2 couples or more and is nicely designed and seems at one with the mountain surroundings. The host was extremely helpful. The condo is fully equipped and very clean and tidy. I rate it 5 stars plus for sure. Judy

Convenient way to holiday as a family. We took full advantage of using the provided kitchen, laundry and sleeping options for our family in this tidy condo at the end of the street. The garage space and private deck with hot tub was a treat as well.
Being right on the mountain gave many opportunities to ride down trails right out the front door or easily head up the mountain on the gondola. Ride in the morning and then cool off at Cedar lake was our go to agenda.
Confluence park at the bottom of the hill was a great picnic spot. Golden felt like just the right distance away from our unit. It was a joy to visit shops, restaurants or pick up grocery supplies. Feeling like I have to experience it in winter now.

We came for the downhill bike racing and I had not visited Kicking Horse before. Rick was amazing to deal with and his condo so perfect for what we needed. We were three and had plenty of space and it was very well stocked. Having the private hot tub was an added bonus. Thank you for a wonderful stay we will be back again for sure

We loved our time here. The property was lovely, clean and well equipped for a family stay. All instructions were clear and easy to follow. The hot tub was perfect for winding down after our adventures!! Very close to the gondola, perfect for summer and winter fun! Highly recommend!

Great place to stay—very, very quiet and excellent location. So many amenities and things to do; wish we’d taken time to use the hot tub, ha. Wifi is reliable. Take the gondola (about a 10-minute walk away) to the top of the ski runs for gorgeous views and hiking.
