Absolutely lovely accommodation, well kept, with a perfectly central location to get to all the big local national parks.
Fantastic stopping place for first timers to Canada to get a toehold of the country and its culture.
Some incredible local hikes and no more than a 3 hour drive from Calgary, it really was the most perfect stay.

I did not like the virtual lobby. They did not service our room, no fresh towels, cleaning, etc. We complain to the virtual assitant and had no response.

The property is fantastic. I believe that during the winter, the ski station provides more dinner options.

Amazing property. Great room. Loved the self-serve breakfast. Highly recommend. Very close to Gondola ride and Boo the bear experience. We did both and views from the mountain were breathtaking. We couldn’t be happier with Copper Horse Lodge. Just remember the Deet spray! This part of Canada can be tricky!

Pick up and go options for breakfast, sometimes there was not enough water and milk. Cleaning of the room was not done for second day stay. It will be only done once you . leave

We enjoyed a comfortable stay at Copper Horse Lodge: quiet, serene, large room with comfy bed, close proximity to the Kicking Horse Mountain ski lift. The staff was attentive and responsive, giving great suggestions for activities in the area.

Comfy mattresses, wonderful location near the Kicking Horse Lodge up on the mountain overlooking Golden, walking distance from the gondola/ski lift, along with its grizzly bear refige, hiking and biking trails, and even rock climbing.
Stunning vistas at the top and the Eagle's Eye Restaurant, too.
We stayed here for one night and arrived late. I have back issues, but was quickly offered luggage unloading.
Some complained about the lack of AC, but our host, Gordon, loaned us a fan that did the trick.
For added excirement, the entire area had power failures late at night, due to a storm. But, it didnt bother our stay. And it impacted every lodge up there.
Gordon went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay, sharing tips about the trails, bear refuge, and gondola.
We had a memorable experience here.
The Wifi worked great. We brought our own Amazon FireTV dongle and streamed AppleTV movies and YouTube with no issues at all.

We paid a lot for this overnight stay hoping we would have 10 out of 10 stay but we’re sadly disappointed it was 39c outside with no AC but we’re told the hallway was air conditioned but was broke at the time there was a small table top fan in our room with no cable and no access to shows unless you had a subscription to them yourself there was no one to greet us with only an access code to the room and no one on premises will not be returning to this overpriced resort

Our family of four stayed at Copper Horse Lodge for four nights and it was a great stay! Our visit in June 2024 was a part of a 14-day road trip and we used Copper Horse as our base camp for 3 days of exploring the surrounding National Parks. We liked the coziness of the lodge and how it felt somewhere between a standard conventional hotel and a bed and breakfast. There was about 12 total rooms with standard cleaning services. The lodge was quiet and homey. The bathrooms were clean and updated. A self-service breakfast was complementary consisting of yogurt, cereal, breads, etc.
Some things to consider -- 1. the property is adjacent to a ski resort and the temps are cool in the evening. There is no AC, so with four bodies, we had to sleep with the windows open, which suited us just fine, but others might want to consider that. 2. with four adults on a 14-day trip, there was a lot of stuff we brought with us. The room felt quite full, but ours was a unique situation. 3. If you are using this as a base camp for the National Parks, be aware that Jasper (city) and Banff (city) are some hours away - we did a LOT of driving, but the value and comfort couldn't be beat!
We would definitely return to CHL the next time we are in Golden!
