This house was perfect for us during our trip to bring our Marine home. Port Royal is an adorable little town. Good restaurants are within walking distance and there are more with just a short drive. This house is in a perfect location to make trips back and forth from the island. The house is clean, neat, and tidy. Communication with the owners was easy and accommodating. I could not recommend this place more!!

This little cottage was a perfect spot to stay for our son’s graduation. Loved that there was a great restaurant within walking distance. Quiet neighborhood - cozy. Way better than cost of hotel.

We stayed for our new Marine's graduation and I cannot recommend this place enough. The house is on a quiet street and neighborhood just a short walk from great dining and less than 10 minutes to the Marine Depot. The owner is a retired Marine and was very accomodating for us and communicated with us well through the check in and check out. We are all out of family eligible to enlist and bring us back to the area, but I would recommend it to any group of 6 or less as a great place to stay for a couple of days

This was the perfect house for my wife, mother and I as we went to watch my son graduate basic training. Everything was accurately listed, a clean home with a binder on the table with expectations on how to leave the home when you check out. Along with recommendations for food. This was a perfect house with amazing hosts. We hope our paths cross again.

A lovely and well appointed house. It had everything we needed and more. Close to Parris Island so perfect for families coming for the graduation of their new marine.

The home was beautiful and clean. The location was perfect for the reason we were in the area. Minutes to Parris Island and Beaufort. Highly recommend dining at The Carolina Tavern.
My only suggestion would be to update the main photo of the home on the listing. We were looking for an orangish red door and it has since been painted blue. Beds were a little firm and “loud” as well.

We had a great stay! We were in town for my daughter’s Marine graduation and the house was so convenient! About 7 min from the Parris Island gate. While we were there, there was an issue with the internet and Phil worked tirelessly to get the problem fixed. Phil is an excellent host and the house had everything we needed!

This was the first time we rented a house in this area. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood. It is within walking distance to the sands and great restaurants. The house was very clean and Phil is quick to respond if anything is needed. Our family had a great time!

Weoved being in the midfle of Port Royal and just a very short drive to Sands Beach, we did not rent golf cart because of this. We did drive further to Hunting Island State Park and as always totally worth it. Being fairly close to surrounding town we were able to take short day trips to farmers market, outlet mall and second hand shopping. Port Royal has lots of little shops and great eateries. We walked to 11th street Fishcamp and for coffee. Sands Beach is low key during the week and perfect for relaxing, kids play, dolphin watching and plenty of shark teeth. The house had plenty of hot water and stayed cool with shades down. Quiet area, lovely evening walks, playground near by, ice cream shop and a must is the cypress trail. Most comfortable vacation beds ever!!

The property is as cute as it looks. Easy to find and in a 2 min walk to 4 restaurants. Very clean and supplies were plentiful. The beds were comfy and the rooms spacious. The bathrooms were a good size with good water pressure and good shower heads. The chairs on the porch were great for a casual conversation. You could eat at the picnic table on the screened in porch on the back. We were very comfy, the heat one day and AC the next, of course in SC! I would recommend this rental to anyone coming to Parris Island for USMC Graduation. You can walk two blocks to the restaurant, Fishcamp, and see MCRD Parris Island across the water. I think it was 7 miles, 14 min, to the base. So close! The Smokehouse is across the street and so delicious, you won’t regret eating at either. And if you want, you could drive to Savannah, GA, and spend a few hours, it is only 1hr down the road. We are thankful this rental was available to us for our visit to MCRD Parris Island to see our son graduate from boot camp.

The house was in a beautiful neighborhood. There was plenty ofspace for everyone. The two bathrooms was good for everyone could get ready for the graduation from the Marines. We could walk the pier and dock. The owners gave us restaurant to eat at. I would recommend this house if your going to a graduation. Gail

We were at this property to participate in our grandson's graduation from boot camp. The location was perfect for this. We were not far from base. Several restaurants were close. Grocery store was not far away. The property was as advertised. I would highly recommend it.

We booked to be close to the gates for the early mornings and this property did not disappoint! Less than 5min drive to PI which made it easy to go back and forth throughout the days activities.
The house was clean and had the fridge/pantry stocked with some essentialsll when we arrived.
They took great care in leaving detailed info not only about the property but also local aspects of Port Royal including restaurant menus!
We walked pretty much everywhere as it was a central location to fun shops, food and Sands Beach.
Highly recommend

Great family stay in a quiet neighborhood
Our family had a great stay at Philip and Megan's! The house had everything we needed including beach chairs and lawn chairs, which came in very handy. Our kids especially loved the toys in the downstairs bedroom closet. The location was awesome, communication was great, and check-in was a breeze, which was wonderful following a very long road trip through traffic and a storm.
There are several restaurants within walking distance from the house, and we went to them all! Nuances and Mrs. B and Co. gift shops are also within walking distance and both are worth a visit. Sands Beach and the boardwalk are a 2 minute drive away. Hunting Beach is about 25 minutes away, and we loved it so much that we went 4 days in a row. It's a lovely drive and the beach is peaceful, not crowded, and very well maintained.
We really enjoyed our stay in Port Royal and hope to visit again someday.

Perfect
The property was beautiful and our hosts were amazing. Had everything that we needed for our stay and more. They recommended some great restaurants in the area that did not disappoint and were in walking distance from the house. We loved that we could sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch and just relax after a long day on base with our Marine. The neighborhood was amazing and quiet. We loved our stay and it made our very first VRBO experience a great one. We will definitely be doing this again. Much better experience than staying in a hotel.

Great Trip
We really enjoyed this well-laid-out and updated little cottage in Port Royal.
The screened-in back porch is a major bonus and the kitchen was pleasant to cook in and decently stocked.
We were also within walking distance of a couple restaurants with great reviews. We had oysters at the Fishcamp on 11th and were really pleased!
The only downside is that it's a minimum 30-minute drive to an actual beach (IF you head there before the beach traffic, which is INTENSE - take it from us and leave for the beach before 10:30AM!) .... but if you pack up and spend most of the day at the beach, then this is a great option for those who are cost-conscience, looking for pleasant and updated accommodations, and want to walk to some tasty food options!

Great Host
We stayed for 6 weeks for a break from the NY winter. It is a great location to walk everywhere...restaurants, stores, beach, the Wetlands (aka alligators). And just a short drive to Beaufort. Phil is a great host responding to our every need very quickly.

Mattress in Master Bedroom
Mattress in Master Bedroom needs to be replaced as it is past its useful life and feels as you are sleeping on the ground.

Fantastic little house in the middle of Port Royal
We loved the locality and style of the house. Very simple with some nice updates. Upstairs is a little more outdated but no real issues with that. Close to all of the great restaurants in Port Royal and not too far from the beach. Front and back porch are great. Although the house is relatively smaller, it was roomy enough to be comfortable with 4 adults and an infant. The host was fantastic with communication and making sure our stay was easy. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Great, comfortable stay
We had a week long stay at this cottage in late August. It is in a really cute neighborhood and very close to the main street in PR and walking distance to the local "Sands Beach" and boardwalk to the viewing tower. The property was clean and comfortable with all amenities. Starter supplies were provided and the kitchen was well equipped with utensils, pots and pans. We mostly spent our days on the beach on one of the sea islands and it was a great place to come home to!

Amazing Stay
I rented Phil's home for 6 weeks while looking to buy a home in the area. The location is fantastic. Since I was there for such a long period, I talked with several of the neighbors and loved walking the quiet streets. I really felt like a local! Port Royal is a great place to be... it is very much like a Hallmark town. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, the kids still play outside and neighbors gather at nite and socialize. So if you're looking for an idyllic and beautiful place to stay, this is it. You are only a few blocks from Sun Beach and there are several great restaurants within walking distance. Fishcamp, Madison's and the Smokehouse.
Phil's home is very well maintained and very clean!!! I spent a lot of time rocking on the front porch. Phil is the BEST host! He was so helpful before and during my stay. I had met him actually, back in March when I was there, and he was kind enough to show me his other rental, right across the street - another great property!! He is so helpful and beyond friendly, as is his wife Megan.
You cannot go wrong if you rent this home. It is well stocked with anything you'll need. Phil even hooked up a TV in the bedroom for me. The A/C worked quite well, the hot water in the shower was almost instant and great water pressure too. The hot water worked so well, I had to make sure it was barely on while taking a shower so it didn't get too hot. The kitchen is great.. gas stove which is not that common down there. The kitchen is updated and wonderful. Good size fridge. Built in micro wave. Washer, dryer. Everything worked great. Really, this is a fantastic property and Phil could not be a more gracious host!!!

Rest and Respite
We spent a few days in Port Royal on the way home from our son's wedding in Hilton Head. Fabulous house close to everything in PR. Easy walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Phillip made himself readily available for anything, but the house is set up that we were self sufficient. Thanks for providing a great option to stay in beautiful Port Royal.
