My husband and I traveled here with our 10 year old. The location was perfect- one house back from the beachfront which blocked the foot traffic noise, but not the sound of the waves! Easy walking distance to a variety of restaurants and no more than about a 20 minute drive to the Zoo, Balboa Park, Snapdragon Stadium, or La Jolla. No AC, but with the windows open it was cool and comfortable. The parking spot was essential!! Just make sure not to rent anything bigger than a small SUV. Boogie boards and beach chairs were available in the garage. Watching dolphins flip and play in the waves at sunset while my kid swam was a highlight of the trip!

My family has stayed at various properties on Mission Beach in the 46 years we’ve been traveling to San Diego. This property is about as close to the beach as you can get without being beachfront, which we loved. We enjoyed it a lot. Clean and cozy as most of these properties are. Checking in and out is easy and you’re not asked to do so much that you’re left wondering “why and I paying a cleaning fee if I’m the one who is cleaning it”. That’s an issue at other properties, in my experience. Large vehicles are difficult to park on the narrow Mission Beach roads but not impossible (backing in is much easier). My only complaint with the property is that when we were home from the beach the internet would drop out frequently. I’d suggest updating that equipment but I’m not going to lower it a star for that because we’re there for the beach not YouTube videos and Instagram. Will definitely keep this place in mind as our families annual vacation continues.

About a 20 sec walk to beach, spacious, very comfortable beds. Close to watch sunset and Sea World fireworks. Private patio space. Tub was clogged but they fixed it w/in about 30 min. Bath sink later clogged. Carpet in rooms need a good cleaning as well as behind the headboards and floor fans. Fridge Ice maker did not work (didnt try the water)and fridge door would not stay closed. We had to prop a chair against it. We would have lost all our food had we discovered this any later than we had. We would stay here again as I'm sure they take reviews to heart.

Nice Condo and just steps away from the beach. Walking distance to everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay.

We felt right at home and loved being so close to the beach! Place seems to have a little bit of wear but we didnt mind it. The kitchen is very nice.

We had an excellent stay at this VRBO. We loved having our own private garage in a neighborhood where it is very tricky to park. The top floor deck with a little view of the ocean and the sound of the waves was great. The place was very clean and the kitchen felt brand new and was well equipped. There was a lot of construction in the area during our stay which made for some noise and traffic during the day and there were lots of planes overhead, but it was very quiet at night and we felt safe. We loved being able to walk to the beach or get coffee in just 3 minutes. There's even a place to rinse your feet in the courtyard. It was great to have two private bedrooms and the bathroom was nice as well. We did not use the fold-out couch for a bed. We recommend this place for your next beach stay!

We stayed in upper back unit above the garage and it was very nice for the price. We even had a small ocean view from the living room. Great patio space with BBQ, nicely updated for the price. Garage is small as they always are in the area. Our grand Highlander was a couple inches too long to fit in with the door closed so we simply left it open. Something smaller would fit with door closed snugly. There were beach toys, chairs and plenty of towels. Appliances were nice. Wall heater was loud when getting started, but no complaints for the price. An outdoor shower is always appreciated, but a heated one has been awesome in other places. No complaints, just suggestions. Laundry was great to have also. Would definitely stay again.🙂

The place was in a great location. The owner was very responsive and although he said there’s no pack n play there was one which perfectly accommodated our little one. We had rented a van which didn’t fit in the garage but we kind of knew from other reviews. Overall good experience.

This place was perfect for us! Steps away from the beach and close to everything else you may want to do in San Diego. Beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. Nice patio and you can hear the waves! Great tv with cable and streaming. Lots of windows. Washer and dryer are shared but no one else was in the other units. Has beach chairs and towels and hose to rinse the sand before going into the condo. WiFi was excellent. Only things to note is the garage is small so getting in and out could be challenging and we ran out of TP the morning before we left. Had just the current roll and 1 back up. Maybe have one extra roll. Heater did not work and it was chilly but the bed was warm and cozy. I would stay here again for sure!

We stayed in this unit the last 2 years and this year reserved it for my parents while we reserved a different unit on the same property for my spouse and children. My parents loved it! Sitting on the porch listening to waves etc. and want to visit again!

Great place to vacation at for a week. It was clean, well stocked, included parking, and an easy walk to the beach, the bay, and Belmont. I just wish it had A/C or more fans - they had 3, but one didn't work, and it did get rather toasty a few days.

The condo was very nice; it had a good location with the beach a couple of minutes walk. The space was clean and fully equipped. I agree that the carpet in the bedrooms could use replacement. We did run out of paper goods, like toilet paper and Kleenex. It would have been nice to have some foil or plastic wrap to put leftovers in. But, overall, it’s a great place to stay.

This little apartment was perfect for us! It's small but very well laid out so we had plenty of space when all the grandkids came for the day. Super easy check in and check out and will definitely stay here again.

We have been coming to Mission Beach for almost 15 years. This condo is nicely updated. Amenities were adequate and communication with property manager by messenger (while slightly delayed) was pleasant. We intend to book again next year. Parking was tight (as most Mission Beach garages are) but we were able to fit our Palisade in the garage (just couldn’t close the door). A nice upgrade would be to replace the locks with a keyless system. Keys are a pain to keep track of on the beach.

Had a great time. The property is great and the location is fabulous. The house was very nice and clean when we arrived. Check in was easy. Property owner did conveniently drop by unannounced to put a sign in the window, seemed unnecessary but not a big deal. The house could also use a furniture upgrade as leather couches are not desirable when lounging at the beach. Overall a great experience and great property. Thank you for your hospitality.

The location was great, close to the beach. Noise wasn’t bad despite how close everything is. But when we got to the property, it was dirty. Trash all over the place, trash cans full, beds were half made, damp towels on the floor and hung over doors, dirty dishes in the sink, empty beer bottles on the counter and on the floor, no toilet paper, no trash bags, grease and crumbs all over the counter, used keurig coffee pod still in the coffee maker. There was just a lot, it looked like someone has just left the property an hour before us. I spent the first 2 hours of my vacation cleaning the place to make it usable the next few days. We had to go out and buy toilet paper and trash bags to replenish. I sent messages to the manager through Vrbo and took pictures but did not receive any response. I also made sure to clean the property before we left. Note that an SUV might not fit in the garage they provide, small cars will likely fit better. Other than the cleanliness, it wasn’t a bad place to stay.

The unit was as advertised…a little compact, up to date, but as promised. We were very pleased. Close to dining and bars, just a short stonesthrow from the ocean. We wound up leaving a few days early due to a home emergency and Robert unexpectedly took two days off our room charge. The parking is a little confusing so good to clarify before and the heater takes a little understanding, but this was worth the price and the deck is a great place for sunbathing.

Had a great stay at Dover Court. Everything was pretty much as we’d expected. We were able to squeeze our RAV4 into the garage with enough room to put our two bikes in as well. Enjoyed going over to the Penant and other local eateries for food and brews. The alley in back was being renovated the last couple of days we were there which it really needed. February isn’t the best beach weather, but we enjoyed biking and walking on the boardwalk, and sticking our feet in the 56 degree water.

This is a nice property with a convenient location a block from the ocean. All surfaces were clean and bright (with the exception of a bit aged bedroom carpeting). Check-in and check-out were simple, and having onsite laundry facilities was great. Be aware the garage is very short. As others have noted, the only consideration that could make/break your stay is the property next door (of which this property has no control) — their deck overlooks this property and seems to attract loud, partier types. Fortunately, it was only for a few days of my stay and I avoided going on my deck for those days. Overall a good stay, close to the Boardwalk, with responsive management.

The place is super cute and stocked with everything you might need. There’s a coffee maker with filters and a keurig with pods. Lots of fun stuff for the beach- chairs, beach mat, umbrellas, sand toys, skimboard, boogie boards. There was a pack n play and a stroller in the closet. It was really nice to have parking and we were able to fit our compact SUV inside and close the door with inches to spare. Being 60 steps from the boardwalk/beach was so great with a little one for being able to come and go easily. You’re close enough to walk the boardwalk a short way to Belmont Park area and all the action, but still feels far enough away. That said, south Mission Beach is very tight quarters. Your neighbors’ windows are within feet of yours, and since the place doesn’t have ac or heat you will need windows open for circulation. (There are box fans for use but they were super dirty and could use a good cleaning or replacement) It was so nice to have the ocean breeze and hear the waves crashing. Although the area is somewhat more residential, you will likely still hear someone coming from the bars yelling down the street or smell cigarettes drifting into your windows. The sound of the airplanes did not bother us and my toddler loved watching each and every one pass overhead. The outside patio was nice to eat meals and enjoy the weather when it was nice.
I do have to say- the couch. Yuck. The pleather is half worn off on the outside and good thing it’s brown because I cringe to think of how dirty it might be. Luckily we didn’t absolutely need the pull out bed, because it was pretty sandy inside and the sheet on it hadn’t been washed. The carpets in both bedrooms are also super worn and stained, but the rest of the unit, in comparison, is spic and span. Very cute and updated and the cleaners do a good job.
One major concern is several of the window locks need repaired- not so much for security because they’re high on the second floor, but for those with small children who could fall out of them (namely behind the couch and next to one of the beds)
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay and would definitely return.

We have stayed in multiple properties over the years for our annual Mission Beach Trip. We found this one last year and I was excited we we were able to get it again this year! The location is absolutely perfect! The unit has everything we need, is neat and tidy. It is on a quiet street which we appreciate. We sleep well, and absolutely love listening to the waves while sitting on the porch! It is great to have a locked garage, we park in the nearby parking lot and use the garage to park our bikes etc. Can not wait for the next trip! (Yes, we have already requested it for next year again!)

This little rental was in a great location. Just steps from the boardwalk, beach, and a nice little walk to Belmont. Finding the rental was a little confusing but we figured it out. Parking was interesting if using the garage, smaller the vehicle the better. Few little things noticed were the carpets in the bedrooms are rather stained. The nice flooring throughout the house would look great in those bedrooms! The top lock for the door was difficult to get to work when leaving. Other than that, we loved our stay. Super cute little place, nothing fancy but perfect for our trip.

Overall a good stay. Location was fabulous and property was clean. Only concern was lack of heat. This wasn’t an issue during the day, but became quite chilly over night.
