The Dairy cottage was a perfect location for us, a 1.5 hr drive to all the destinations we wanted to see while there in Ireland! The hosts were very kind and willing to go the extra mile. We suggest going into town to the local pub for a pint…. Owner very nice and welcoming!

Sheila and Michael's farmhouse was a lovely respite from the city. It was clean and included everything we needed. The view out the back of the house was amazing. Sheila and Michael were wonderful hosts.

Everything was as we imagined from the pictures and overview, it was so peaceful, a great location to plan day trips from!

After a long day of traveling internationally, we arrived to this beautiful countryside cottage surrounded by cows out back! The cottage itself is exactly what you see in the photographs, and so lovely! The Dairy Cottage was the cleanest rental we've ever stayed at! What made this VRBO so wonderful was the hospitality of the owners Sheila and Michael. They were both so kind and very responsive to our every need and generously gave us a tour of their farm because our son loves cows! Would highly recommend you stay at The Dairy Cottage, if not for the location and views then for the excellent hospitality!

The home was extremely warm and comfortable. Everything one needs was there, and we felt so welcomed when we saw the fresh baked biscuits and jam, waiting for us upon our arrival. We had originally reserved an apartment in the heart of Dublin back in February for this same period. 10 days before our arrival into Ireland the host with no prior warning or explanation canceled the reservation. We were extremely concerned that the entire vacation to Ireland would now be ruined. How could we have possibly have known that that cancellation would have actually been a godsend. It brought us to this lovely lovely home. Thank you thank you thank you. It was everything we had hoped for and more.

Thank you, thank you! We can’t thank our hosts enough for sharing the “Dairy Cottage” with us during our stay in Ireland. The cottage had everything we needed and was probably one the most peaceful accommodations we’ve stayed at in a long time, even with a working dairy farm right next door! Thanks Sheila and Michael for everything!

Central Ireland Visit
The Dairy Cottage is a wonderful place to visit if you are wanting to see the beautiful Irish countryside. The central location made it possible for us to visit sites to the south, west and east. There is a nice-size Tesco's market in nearby Nenagh, so self-catering was simple. The homeowners were very friendly and offered us great tips on places we could visit. Overall, excellent

Great Cottage In the Country
Very nice cottage in beautiful countryside. The roads can be narrow but that is part of the charm.

"Perfect'
Michael and Sheila were excellent hosts, providing great hospitality. When we arrived and I asked our daughters what they thought of The Dairy, their one word response was "Perfect" and indeed it is. The Dairy is located on a working dairy farm and is well situated for day trips to Blarney and Bunratty Castles and the Rock of Cashel. The bedrooms are spacious, especially the Master. The kitchen is well equipped and the deck offers excellents views of the picturesque countryside. We have many golden memories of our trip to Ireland.

Had a great time while staying here, was centrally located for us to see everything we wanted, Sheila and Michael were very accommodating and helpful, they are there when you need them and don't bother you if you don't. Beautiful place would highly recommend.

Amazing views, location, farm, and hosts
My family of 4 just stayed at the Dairy Cottage for 8 days, and loved it. Both Sheila and Mike were able to welcome us at the property and gave us a detailed run-down of where everything was and how appliances/etc worked. Sheila also had milk, juice, and a fresh loaf of bread waiting for us!
The Cottage was very clean with a solidly equipped kitchen - we usually cook at home when vacationing and I had everything I needed. The view from said kitchen cannot be beat, and I already miss it. The rolling hills, water in the distance, and impossibly green fields are all amazing. We had a few questions while at the Cottage, and Sheila was very friendly and very responsive.
We have a 1.5 year old and a 4.5 year old and this trip was perfect for them. The cottage came equipped with a cot and highchair for the little one, and plenty of room to run in the yard to get her energy out. We all got to tour the farm, and our 4.5 year old is in love with it. Mike (and his helper, also Mike) were extremely patient, and went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and involved, and to answer all of his (and our!) questions. This time of year there were plenty of calves to see, cows being milked, and in the distance grass being cut and bailed by tractors – a kid’s dream!
The location is peaceful and quiet, but also a very good for seeing the tourist sites too. From there we were able to see the Cliffs of Moher, at least three large castles, and the Jameson distillery down in Middleton, Cork. Locally we were able to walk near the lake, see Nenagh center, eat out at a local restaurant, and shop for some wools at the John Hanly factory store. There are certainly more sites within easy distance, but we ran out of time to see them all. The Cottage is also just quick drive to multiple grocery stores and shops for anything you may need.
All in all, the place is great, and we wouldn’t hesitate to send friends and family there. Thank you to Sheila, Mike and their little man for the stay!

Good Time in beautiful landscape
The house of Shelia and Michel is beautifully situated between in the pastures of the neighboring farms with a wonderful view over the countryside. It is quiet, the house is well equipped and everything worked to our utmost satisfaction.
Shelia and Michel gave us good tips for our trips and to a nearby pub.
From the house you can also see a little bit of Lough Derg. The harbor Dromineer at Lough Derg can be reached in approx. 4 km where we visited the water park (to rent neoprene suits). You can also rent pedal boats there.
In Nenagh you can get everything you need.
We really enjoyed the time. Since Shilea and Michel were on vacation on their departure, their mother came to say goodbye to us personally, which we thought was very nice. Many Thanks

The Dairy Cottage is a very comfortable place to stay.
The Dairy Cottage was a great home base while we were visiting for 9 days. Our family of 4 was very comfortable and Sheila and Michael provided everything we needed in our home away from home for the week. The cottage is lovely...beautifully decorated, with a 5 star view and a warm welcome from the owners including a lemon cake my kids said was better than Starbucks! (Poor kids with parents who don’t bake). I agree with the reviewer who said if guests had a problem with Sheila and Michael it had to be the guests, not the hosts. Top notch communication and a warm welcome. We were great on our own as our family is from the area but it was good to know if we needed anything Sheila and Michael were happy to help. Highly recommended. Thank you!

The location was glorious with incredible views of the Irish countryside. A dream come true!
This cottage is in a perfect location. There is plenty to do and see locally and it's also an easy drive to get to places like Bunratty Castle, the Rock of Cashel and Kinsale. The cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Michael and Sheila gave us their cell phone numbers and they were very helpful and accessible. Michael welcomed us and came to say goodbye. He was very friendly! We have no complaints, only wonderful memories created. Thank you to Michael and Sheila for sharing their cottage with us!

Great location, wonderful people and fantastic view
Staying at the Dairy Cottage was a wonderful experience for my grandchildren. They interacted with Michael while he was milking the cows. The cottage is in a great location for all tourist areas.
Will highly recommend staying there. Shelia and Michael are a wonderful couple and they will make your stay worth while.

Such a great stay my family will return again, even if it's just 3 of us!
Before reviewing the Dairy Cottage, I wanted to address the negative reviews as let's be honest, those are really the ones we read first, not just the ones talking about the gorgeous view of the valley (which is does have).
The kitchen is well stocked & supplied with both a microwave & as many utensils as you could possibly need. The comments about Michael and Sheila as owners completely baffle me which leads me to draw my own conclusions about those who spoke poorly about them as hosts. You'd have to be a pretty miserable person to find the Fogerty's anything but wonderful (sorry, tried to bite my tongue but just couldn't!).
If you expect close/daily interaction with the owners of your cottage it's probably best to ask those questions before booking, if you expect a B&B situation, communicate that or ask if that's the type of place you're renting!
Now onto the good stuff:
The Cottage is impeccable. The pictures are completely accurate, and yes....the view out the back patio of the cottage is everything your Irish holiday/vacation dreams are envisioning and more. The beds are firm, comfortable, and put you into a deep sleep. Bathrooms are very well equipped, clean, and modern.
The baked goods upon arrival and milk in the fridge are perfect for that quick snack/boost you need before taking your jet-lagged self to the Tesco nearby for your groceries for your stay. The fact that Sheila finds time between her work, her young child, and the cottage to bake (from scratch) delicious treats for the arrival of her guests is just awesome.
I stayed in the cottage with my husband, 1.5yr old daughter (travel cot and highchair provided), my mother-in-law, and my mother and father. We were very comfortable, found more than enough space to cook dinners in the kitchen together as well as retreat to our bedrooms to relax for some quiet time was great.
We also arranged to tour the dairy farm on one of our more relaxed days at the cottage. My daughter loved it (as did we!) and it was so nice to have that extra time to get to know Michael a little better.
My husband and I have used Homeaway to rent apartments/homes/cottages in Adare, Ireland; Cortona, Italy; Bolonga, Italy; The Cape in the USA; Cinque Terre, Italy, & downtown Boston, MA, USA. I TRULY & HONESTLY can say, without bias, the Fogerty's are the most kind, genuine, and passionate hosts we've ever had.
You will have no regrets with this cottage, the owners, or the location. All were beyond perfect!

Lovely Home, but...
The Dairy Cottage is a lovely property, just wish we could have enjoyed it more. The day before our arrival Shelia emailed me and asked what time we would be arriving and that they were looking forward to meeting us. Since the arrival instructions say check-in is at 4 I emailed her back and said that we would be there around 4. We arrived at the house at 3:55 and no one was there. At around 4:30 we checked the front door and it was unlocked and the house key was on the table along with a sweet treat. We wandered around the house and figured out all the little details that it would have been nice to have explained to you. Around 8:30 Michael rang the door bell and said hello what time did you get in? I said 4 and he said he must have just missed us. That was the extent of our contact for the entire 6 days we were there (other than me emailing Shelia that there was no hair dryer). As I said the house was lovely and I do not have any complaints in that department.
We have been renting homes in various countries and localities for several years now, and I have never once arrived at a home that I was renting and not been greeted. Honestly we felt like an annoying house guest that you are just hoping will leave (we almost did).

Wonderful cottage in the country!
Stayed here and made it a 'home' base for our travels. Location is 1 1/2 - 2 hrs away from most all the must see places in Ireland. Sheila and Mike are wonderful hosts, gave great recommendations on places to go, and directions as well. Cottage is exactly as seen in pictures warm and welcoming.

Great house with great views!
What they don't tell you on the site is the great views the house has overlooking the valley. Gorgeous! All in all a very nice place to stay!
The house is very homely and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen lacks microwave and utensils (for stirring etc). Nice to have a washer dryer as we have seen some rain ;-). Groceries and all the other things you might need in Nenagh, a 15 mn drive. Nice big Tesco supermarket! But also a Lidl supermarket on the other side of town.
Sheila greated us very briefly on arrival had to get back to work in a hurry. Her husband came a day early to say goodbye. Thougt we were leaving the next day, which we weren't. Not the greatest hosts we've seen.... But... Maybe we're the exception to the rule as other reviewers were very enthousiastic about their hospitality.

A little part of heaven on earth! Lovely cottage newly renovated in a gorgeous setting...
Dairy Cottage was a perfect home base for our five night stay in the Irish countryside. Location made day trips to Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle (Woolen Mills), Rock of Cashel, Kylemore Abbey and Ashford Castle easily accessible. Groceries and other necessities are close by in Nenagh. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking meals. Would recommend following owners directions vs following GPS directions to avoid several miles on one lane roads. Can easily sleep 7-9 people. We also enjoyed hospitality of the owners. Very responsive and gracious!

Beautiful house and property
This was more than we expected. The house was beautiful and the property was a dream come true view of the country side. Mike greeted us at the house with homemade carrot cake and brown bread. So yummy!!! Shelia's parents then came with open arms and they explained more of the house to us. Later Shelia came to make sure we were comfortable. We had cows, pheasants, a fox and a hare greet us every morning and of course, the beauty of the land. A definite 10 star from us.
Thank you Shelia and Mike for the wonderful memories.

Such a nice cottage and a wonderful location.
We were very impressed with the cottage, the location and mostly the wonderful owners. We were greeted with freshly baked bread and a cake in the kitchen.
The house was comfortable and all that we would want in a home away from home.Thank you Shelia and Mike for the wonderful memories.
