We are located in the heart of North Tipperary and close to the shores of Lough Derg.

Gort na gCapall cottage at Annaghbeg, Drominner is a modern luxury home within a traditional Irish Cottage where the pace of life ambles. Three out of our four bedrooms have European King Sized beds (American Queen) which are very tastefully decorated with two en suites making your stay very comfortable. The master bedroom upstairs has a spacious walk in wardrobe and en suite with wonderful black out blinds for the ideal lie in!. We also have a king bedroom downstairs with its own en suite. Our other bedroom has twin beds dressed with crisp white linen. Our open plan living area has a beautiful open fireplace and we supply our own wood for your convenience. The seating in this area is our fine brown leather couches or indeed our window seat for dining in this area.
The Cottage is very spacious complete with Patio for al fresco dining - furniture and BBQ provided. The main bathroom of the house with its marble tiled floor has a free standing bath with separate shower. The open plan kitchen/dining/sun room area contains facilities, equipment and fittings of excellent quality and standard.
For those rainy days, a full DVD Library to choose from and also a full bookcase or indeed a game of pool on our 6' pool table to entertain the younger ones. We can also arrange a cookery demonstration locally where you get to eat the food with a glass of wine - very relaxing.
Due to its location we can provide horse treking, cycle routes, walk routes, local sport, boat trips, fishing and many more activities from which to choose from. Watch the sailboats and fishing boats come and go at the very nearby village of Dromineer. Take a trip on the lake on a 50-seater tour boat.
Alternatively, rent a small sailboat or fishing boat and go exploring on your own. The fishing in the area is great, especially for pike and trout. Local experienced fishing guides will be glad to provide instruction and local knowledge. Facilities on site include an outdoor horse gallop or a trek on a pony and trap can also be organized for the visitor who wants to see the local countryside.
Incedently Our Cottage is also located 10 miles from the famous village of Moneygall where President Obama's ancestors came from. President Obama and his wife Michelle visited this village in May 2011.
The location of the Cottage facilitates a 2 mile wallk/drive to the lakeside village of Dromineer on Lough Derg which boasts Lough Derg Yacht Club, we are 5 miles from the nearest town of Nenagh. The Cottage is located a 50 yard stroll to the walking trail of Sli Eala.
It is such an ideal setting - day trips to the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, the Burren, or the Dingle Peninsula or a shorter day exploring the smaller quaint towns of Terryglass (on Lough Derg) and then Killaloe (on the river Shannon) both a short 15-20 minute drive and the castles in Birr and Limerick about a 40 minute drive. The M-7 (major highway) is only minutes away which cut the long day trips travel time easily by half. Vist the local Pubs for Pub-Grub ie. the Whiskey Still in Dromineer, the Thatched Cottage in Ballycommon and Larkins Pub in nearby Garrkennedy. These pubs also specialise in irish music where one can dance or indeed relax and chat the locals. Nenagh is a quaint and friendly town and just walking through the town and having coffee/tea and a ‘sweet’ in The Pantry, Country Choice or Quigley’s Bakery or visiting the butcher at Hanlons to buy wonderful local meats are all a treat.
We love having guests to stay, sharing life at our cottage, who will enjoy our friendship and a lovely place to stay.

Just Beautiful!! Inside and out! I loved staying there. Watching the cows being moved from one pasture to another. I hosted a Birthday. lunch for a few of my cousins . So much room. It was fabulous. Beautiful all around! The cottage was so cozy, the surroundings were so serene and the host was so sweet and very eager to help in any way that we needed! Thank you so much for lending us your beautiful property! Our stay in Ireland was amazing!

Great place to spend our five week stay in Ireland! It felt like home for my husband and I along with our six children. The home is cozy and spacious inside and beautifully decorated. Loved seeing the horses pass being exercised along the road. We enjoyed eating at the Thatched cottage often and felt like regulars by the end of our stay. A great central location for making day trips to Galway, Cork, and Limerick. Jeanette and Steve were wonderful host, very friendly and prompt in answering any questions. We hope to be back again soon!

Absolutely superb location, property, home, and hosts. Best part was the attention to detail and us that Jeanette and Stephen paid. This home will not disappoint. There were 8 adults and a 6 year old we were never in each other’s way. We will return one day.

Very lovely home set in the countryside. The property was just minutes from the charming town of Ballycommon, which hosted a terrific pub and restaurant. Nenagh is nearby to provide you with anything you need.
The spacious house was spotless and well-equipped, as well as being beautifully appointed. Loved the large TV room being upstairs. Set on a quiet country road, the only thing you'll hear is the occasional "moo".

Our family of 4 enjoyed a 2 week stay in the country setting between Nenagh and Lough Derg. The home was well described and ready for us upon arrival from the Shannon airport. Three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor and the second floor with an additional bedroom and bathroom were all bright and comfortable. The farm land just to the back of the house was enjoyable too, as it was busy with a dairy herd and the tending of the pastures. A special cuteness was the cat that visited daily and sat on the window sill watching in while we were busy in the kitchen. We enjoyed exploring Nenagh’s Castle, the Heritage Center, the church and garden, Hanley Woolen Mills store and time spent on the lake. From this location we also found it easy to visit many other towns and attractions on day trips.

Dromineer
Lovely property. Perfect hosts! The only reason we did not give Gort Na gCapall a 5 star is that we felt the kitchen supplies could use some updating. Pots and pans were a bit lacking. Additional Utensils for cooking were needed. Would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone! We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

A Peaceful Stay in a Lovely Home
We had a great winter stay here for 4 nights in January. The home is very spacious and well appointed as the pictures show. The location was perfect for rambling about the Tipperary countryside, with pubs/food nearby and also easy access to the M7 for further out destinations and Shannon airport. Jeanette was very friendly and quick to respond. Take the nice walk along the Nenagh River, which runs through the Seymour farm.

We picked to come back and stay here again!
We stayed here 4 years ago and have been waiting for the day to come back again. As always it is so beautiful and perfectly set up for two families with children ranging in age from 4-18! We are so thankful for this place and the time it allows us to spend with friends!

Beautiful cottage in North Tipperary
This was an exceptional holiday rental! It was much bigger than expected and was fitted out with quality fixtures and fittings. The photos don't do it justice, it is even better than it looks. The upstairs bedroom suite is like an apartment on it's own. Beautiful decor with everything that you could want for our two week stay. The area is very quiet, set on a farm, with the owners next door if needed. Great hosts and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is only a couple of Kms from Ballycommon with a local shop/petrol station and a great pub /restaurant The Thatched Cottage. Dromineer, and Garrykennedy both on Lough Derg are within easy driving distance with a great pub for eating and drinking. A little further away is Terryglass, again on the Lough with 2 great pubs. The local town of Nenagh is about a 10 minute drive with central shops and supermarkets, including a big Tesco.
We had an amazing holiday here, would recommend highly for a group or family as there is plenty of space. Lots to see of the cows, and lovely views over the fields.
Lovely quiet area away from the tourist trail, not for those seeking nightlife and entertainment.
A great fairly central location for seeing other areas of Ireland. Galway, The Ring of Kerry etc only being a couple of hours drive away. Close to the Silvermine Mountains, Arra Mountains and the best view we found of Lough Derg on the way to Ballina/Killaloe close to the Millenium cross. We will go back without a doubt.

Beautiful property in tranquil location while still close to motorways
Gort na gCapall was the perfect property for our group of 4 single adults. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen and dining area with everything you could need for preparing some home cooked meals. Two comfortable lounge areas and a useful laundry for long term travellers. Idyllic, peaceful country setting. We were able to relax for a few days while exploring Tipperary. It was great to come "home" each night and was also perfect for a day just lazing around. We wished we had stayed for longer and would love to return one day. Just about everything you could need in a holiday cottage and in great condition.

Lovely house that is home from home with beautiful views.
We had an amazing time staying at this lovely house. We especially loved watching the cows walk into the fields every morning & our children loved getting up & having a game of pool whilst we were getting ready! Jeanette was extremely welcoming and gave us lots of tips on where to eat/visit & thank you for the bottle of wine that was left in the fridge - it was a lovely gesture.
Be sure to visit Killaloe, it is a lovely town & we loved the boat cruise. Our children also had such fun climbing on the inflatables on the lake in Dromineer. It was a perfect holiday setting & we will be back. Thanks So much Jeanette for sharing your lovely home for the week.

Jeanette and Stephen are amazing people that make you feel like family.
When we return to Ireland they are definitely our first choice for accommodations. The house is a modern four bedroom three bath home with everything you will need. The setting is as gorgeous as Ireland can be. I highly recommend this venue.

A perfect home in an ideal location for as many or few outings you would like.
There were six of us for this vacation, but the 'cottage' is so substantial that we had more room than we could have hoped for. The rural setting of the cottage is idyllic and had us looking forward to returning there after each outing. Based upon the location, we felt we were within striking distance of any point of interest.
A grocery store and several fine eating establishments are ten minutes or less away.
Jeanette our host was very helpful, not at all intrusive, and a pleasure to meet. Thank you for making our first trip to Ireland such a memorable one.

This is our 2nd stay at this cottage. We love it! It's perfect for a large family or friends traveling together. It's beautiful inside and out. It's a perfect location if you want to travel around the southern half of Ireland. Highly recommend this cottage! We will be back!

Really great House
Six Adults and 2 Children had a really lovely time in Girt na gCapaill. The house was beautifully presented and decorated for Christmas. We had plenty of space and the kids and adults really enjoyed the games room with pool table. There were plenty of chill out spaces for everyone. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough and OPW to return again.

Great house well equipped lovely location
The house was lovely warm and welcoming.
It is a real home away from home. Great lay out with two sitting rooms to give the adults some space from the kids. Nice walks in the local area no need to drive to walk. Would recommend to all

This house is THE must stay in central Ireland. We were looking for a base to begin our daily adventures and this home was perfect for us. The interior of the home is amazing the appliances are all up to date and there is ample parking for up to 3 cars infront and behind the house. The owner was beyond accommodating and even stopped by to ensure our stay was amazing. Book this house if it fits into your travel dates!!

Lovely place, close to several pub/restaurants. Very quiet spot, and makes a great base camp for exploring the Lough Derg area. Spacious, open plan house. Bigger on the inside than the pictures suggest. Friendly host lives a short distance away. I would stay here again in a minute.

Our family spent 10 days exploring Ireland from this stunning, centrally located property. The property and owner provided us a 5 star experience. We visited the Ring of Kerry, cliffs of Moher, Dublin, Galway, Doolin, Cork and so much more. We loved watching the sunsets from the patio. This home had everything we could wish for and more. Plenty of space with two living rooms, multiple eating areas and comfortable beds. A lifetime experience for our family was perfect
