This place is a must for your trip to Acadia!!! We had the best time!! Highly recommend!!

We stayed at the house for three weeks and it worked very well. Our boys (5 & 8) enjoyed the firepit next to the water, the short walk to the shops, library, ice cream, etc. and close proximity to a working harbor.

The house was clean and well set up for a family of 5. The location fit exactly our needs, close enough to all the things we wanted to do but still quiet. The communication with the host was easy and prompt.

The property is beautiful there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't provided to us. Christie was an amazing hostess. We took the ferry to Swans Island and go stuck on the island due to the dock breaking and I reached out to her, and she sent her nephew to come pick us up from Bass Harbor once we got back to the main island because we had to leave our rental on Swans Island! We were so grateful for her all her help. I highly recommend staying in the Cottage and on Southwest Harbor.

Great location and property

Christie was an exceptional host and we very much enjoyed having this charming house as our base to a wonderful family vacation. The house was very clean and offered everything we needed for the week. We enjoyed making a camfire by the water many of the nights we were there. That was a treat that we miss by not camping...thumbs up.

Our stay at Christie’s cottage was the perfect stage for having a wonderful family vacation with my wife and I, two parents, two young children, and the family dog! We could walk into quaint Southwest Harbor for a meal and shopping, or make the 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor and the Acadia Loop. The house itself too, with large deck, fire pit and access to the ocean offered plenty to do. We would highly recommend and will return!

Southwest harbor at it’s best
Ideal location, helpful creative guidance to learning about activities for children by host. Beautifully decorated house. Ate every day out on the deck with a nice cross breeze. I hope to be able to rent this house again

We had a great stay - our visit was made very comfortable by our host Christie. Everything was as pictured and the house was well appointed. We were able to make family meals, play board games on a rainy day, and enjoyed time in the yard and with our neighbors for the week. There was also great bike storage as an added bonus! Highly recommend.

Fabulous house!
My husband and I rented this house for a week to celebrate our 20th anniversary and could not have been happier! It was the perfect set up for us and the house was wonderful. It was very, very clean and really well maintained. The deck was perfect for morning coffee overlooking the marina and we used the fire pit two nights. It was everything that we wanted. Loved the location so that we could walk to the shops in town and great restaurants. Also very close to some great hikes! Our trip could not have been better and we plan to return and, if we’re lucky, rent this house again. Perfect setup for a family too!

Awesome week
Great rental property. Southwest Harbor is a perfect place to stay. Easy access to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. Wish we were able to stay longer

off season quiet getaway
This house was perfect for two couples to enjoy some quiet time in Southwest Harbor during the shoulder season. The house was great and we enjoyed the deck and firepit overlooking the harbor. As it was the shoulder season, many of the area shops and restaurants were closed for the season. The local hiking was fabulous.

Great stay
Loved the quiet side location. My kids liked playing on the rocks and exploring. House is exactly like described. My only recommendation would be a few more lights, very dark inside and it’s hard to read( especially if your over 40:). We loved drinking our morning coffee on the huge deck. Thanks for allowing dogs, my dog loved it as well.

Southwest Harbor Cottage
Perfect cottage for a fabulous week in MDI. Daily walk to town to restaurants and shops, or down on the docks. Great fire pit (we sat during the early evening so no fire) and a nice deck for playing cards in the evening.

Great week in Southwest Harbor!
Our group (6 adults and 2 dogs) did well for the week. Christine was very responsive when we had a minor issue and she fixed it within a few hours.
My only complaint was the noise from the road in front of the house was more than I anticipated.
House was great - just as advertised.
We will stay again in the future!

Late October Stay
We had an amazing week in southwest harbor! House was spacious and clean and perfectly homey. A picturesque view of the harbor demands to be admired. I found myself gazing off the porch every late afternoon. You will not be disappointed. We made daily drives to do various hikes and visit Bar Harbor. Never was in the car for more than 30 minutes. Christie is super friendly and quick to respond. Really can't say enough about good things about our stay.

Fall getaway-wish we could have stayed longer!
Seashore Cottage is exactly as charming and comfortable as the pictures depict it, while still providing a great array of amenities. The fireplace and two modern heaters helped keep the chilly fall air at bay. Even though we didn't end up using the kayaks or firepit, it was nice to know they were there if we wanted to. Christie was easy to reach and very helpful. The location is perfect too-an easy walk for good food and a scenic drive in any direction. We would definitely stay here again

We are repeat visitors and will be back. We know we’re on vacation every time we arrive at Seashore Cottage. Christie is a wonderful and helpful host. We recommend a stay here without hesitation.

Five night stay in Southwest Harbor
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this nicely remodeled home. Although we didn't have direct frontage on the harbor, it was convenient to walk past the other cottage without disturbing the occupants, and then had beautiful harbor views and access to the shore. There is a very nice large deck with great deck furniture, weber grill, and some harbor visibility. The marina is nice also. And Southwest harbor has great seafood offerings including the Upper Deck, which is essentially next door. Christie is also very pleasant and we're glad we got to meet her and enjoy her company for a while.

Felt like an old fashioned Maine vacation.
This cottage sits in a perfect location to town AND has gorgeous views of the harbor. Christy is an amazing host and was there with anything we needed! The shared space on the water has a fire pit with beautiful Adirondack chairs overlooking the water, kayaks, and a cooking area. The cottage itself is like stepping back in time, but updated enough to make things comfortable. We stayed with a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 teens) and it had a perfect amount of space. We were also allowed to have our Golden Retriever with us, which made the stay that much better! Thank you for a wonderful stay...we will definitely be back!

Excellent stay in a beautiful part of Acadia. Highly recommend this property and southwest harbor.
Amazing hiking, property on the water (though there are two other houses on property in front as well), and great house. Owner was awesome and loved the rental...highly recommend!

Clean, cozy, spacious cottage in SW Harbor
Seashore Cottage is clean, roomy, walking distance from everything in SW Harbor, AND pet friendly. It's bright and cheerful and has everything you need to make yourself comfortable. Christie went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of, she is always available and responsive, great communication. The location was convenient to exploring the hiking trails at Acadia, and we so appreciated being able to bring along our four legged hiking companion.

Quaint & charming cottage in SW Harbor
We were very pleased with our Seashore Cottage accommodations. Christie, our property manager, could not have been nicer, and was always updating us providing information. The cottage is an older home with an old fashioned feel, but well maintained. The inside was enhanced by tasteful, charming décor and the gas fireplace was wonderfully warm and welcoming! The kitchen was well stocked, and linens provided. Although we had a wonderful stay, there are a few things that would enhance the property. The driveway was steep and parking was a little challenging; the basement could use some work, but you only go there to do laundry so it wasn't too badl. The bedrooms on the front porch would be very chilly for colder weather and smelled and smelled musty. However, all in all, I think you get a good deal for the price that you pay within a short drive to the quaint shops and restaurants of SW Harbor and many other attractions.

This is our third or fourth state at Seashore Cottage. We will be back! Thanks, Christie!

Another great week in Acadia!
This is our second visit to MDI and our second time in a house owned by Christie. She is a thoughtful host and we enjoy coming to her homes knowing that we'll have everything we need, including a rolling pin and pie plate! This house worked great for our family of three plus my mother-in-law. We could have easily had a cousin stay with us as well.
You can walk down to the shore and enjoy a lovely sunset and easily walk to everything in town. Southwest Harbor is a quaint town with restaurants, a grocery store, a bike store and even a hardware store.
I should note is that this house is on the main street so you do get some traffic noise.

Perfect
We couldn't have been happier with the home, location, and overall experience. Christie very obviously cares about the comfort of her guests and I can't think of a single thing that was overlooked. Southwest Harbor exceeded our expectations, far quieter than past stays in Bar Harbor but with just enough great shops and eateries close by. Echo Lake and the Beech Mountain trails were incredible, and the kids absolutely loved Wonderland at low tide. We'll definitely be back!

A great base for exploring MDI
The property is clean and comfortable and has a lovely view over the harbor. It's an easy walk into town, and on the main road for heading out to explore the park and island. We could relax with our coffee on the deck in the morning, while the sun came up over the water, and grill or make s'mores in the evening. Our kids absolutely loved the sleeping porch and its supply of books and games.

Great Stay
We had a great stay here. The house was clean and was in a great location (close to town and close to Acadia National Park) The Owner was excellent to work with. Thanks for the great week.

Lovely home and gracious hostess!
Everything was just fine and everyone loved the summer porch! Only issues were busy traffic in early morning making sleeps a little more difficult and the rutted driveway you mentioned to get off the road and down in an easy way. Jordan was great in helping us with the TV's. Our motley crew were very happy with your home. Thank you!

Southwest Harbor
Have visited Mt Dessert Isle many times (7-8?) and although we've explored Southwest Harbor, we've never stayed there until this past week. Definitely the quieter side of the Island. Christie's house was perfect and just what we were looking for. She communicates VERY well and her house was in a very convenient location. A very short walk to several restaurants in town and only about 15 minutes from the park entrance on Rt 233. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend both this side of the Island and Christie's house!!

Clean, comfortable home in nice village setting
We felt at home immediately. The house was easy to find and had everything we wanted. Particularly liked the small town of Southwest Harbor. We had a choice of restaurants, all within walking distance.
The overall location was close enough to Bar Harbor and the park, but not so close that we were crushed by cruise ship visitors. There is plenty to do, we didn't even scratch the surface. The weather was great except for one kinda rainy-misty day which gave us a rest from trekking around Acadia.
This was our first trip to Maine and I'm glad we found this cottage for our base of operations.

Great house, better than we expected.
This was a great week. The house is at a perfect location to walk into Southwest Harbor to shop or get something to eat. It was also very clean well kept and decorated. The kitchen was very well stocked to do every day cooking. We had a great time with our toddler throwing rocks in the water at low tide. The house is also located close to many great hiking trails. Over all it was a great relaxing week. We will be back.
