Yellowstone Bar B Bunkhouse offers the best of all worlds. It is easily accessible by car yet distanced from highway 89 enough to be completely quiet and serene. It is a peaceful setting with beautiful views of breathtaking mountains and a beautiful native cutthroat trout stream running right through your backyard. Bordering the property to the north and south are wide open grassy pastures which are home to our cow herd whose lineage goes back on this place over a hundred years. You may often see a horse frequent by in the summer. The property has walking or horseback access to the Gallatin National Forest (located only a quarter mile to the east of the house) and the 900,000 acre Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness. This Wilderness abuts the 2.2 million acre Yellowstone National Park. It is a huge expanse of wild land. A quarter mile to the west is the free flowing Yellowstone River. Yellowstone National Park is an extremely scenic ten minute drive away.
The home is spacious and comfortable. It is a 4 bedroom 3 bath home. There is also the Yellowstone Cabin available for your use (May 15 - hard frost (late Sept). It is a one room cabin with a double bed and a half bath. It is originally a cabin from Yellowstone and aside from adding the bathroom, it has been left in its original condition. You pay no extra for it and are free to use it if you wish. It is rustic, but really cute. Guests last summer loved it. The property has a beautiful grass lawn with flower beds and bordered by native vegetation and shade trees. There are two decks. The front deck gets the morning sun and is a spectacular setting to enjoy your morning coffee. The back deck is always shaded by beautiful, large cottonwood trees and overlooks Cedar Creek. There is a one car attached garage for your use.
Wildlife frequents the area often. You may see elk, deer, mountain sheep, coyotes, wolves, raccoons and the ever present entertaining squirrels on the deck. It is a birdwatchers heaven from chickadees and sparrows to eagles, cranes and herons. If you are a winter guest, you may also see buffalo from your living room window.
There are endless activities in the greater Yellowstone area. You could spend a lifetime here and not see and experience all it has to offer. Yellowstone National Park offers gorgeous scenery, geysers, bubbling mud, hot springs, wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, western cookouts, stagecoach rides, boating, guided fish boats on Lake Yellowstone, and many educational opportunities. Boiling Hot Springs, located between Gardiner and Mammoth,is a hot springs where soaking is permitted. It is a unique experience and definitely worth exploring.
The Greater Yellowstone area offers spectacular whitewater rafting, fishing, guided river trips, horseback riding, camping, park tours, souvenir gift shops, restaurants, bar and grills, swimming, biking, hunting and hiking. Bozeman’s Gallatin Field is located 70 miles away.
There is plenty to do right from your Bar B door as well. Two miles east of the house is the historic OTO dude ranch, Montana’s first dude ranch. This is a beautiful, fairly easy hike up a gravel road to the remnants of the dude ranch. The lodge and cabins have been restored to their original condition and you are free to walk around and in them or picnic on the deck.
Cedar Creek, which runs behind the house is closed to fishing as it is a native spawning stream for Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout. We are, however, only a quarter mile from the Yellowstone River which offers spectacular fishing with plenty of access through fishing accesses and high water lines. The spawning cutthroat in Cedar Creek can be seen from the bridge behind the house during July. There are also rainbow and brown trout in the creek.
This is a super location for hunters to base from as well as a comfortable place to come home to after a long day of hunting. There is hunting within walking distance from the house. There is ample Forest Service land in the area for big game hunting during the archery season or general season. We often hear elk bugling at night from our bedroom windows.

This was a great VRBO. The only sad thing is that the bed situation is inaccurate. It stated that bedroom 5 has 2 sets of twin bunks. There is only a full bunk for 2 people (we have 3 boys!). It also is not in a room, but an open area which made changing and privacy an issue for the boys.
The Cabin is cute and great for an older teen or young adult only.
The owner's family live in the cabin nextdoor. Not an issue except their little grand-daughter had no manners and kept trying to coax our dog to her and she also insisted on standing and stairing and watching us. I had asked the little girl to kindly leave us and give us privacy but she refused. So I closed the wood panel swing door between the cabin and owner's home and it helped.
Otherwise, this is a sweet place. Very Cozy, easy to get comfy and we loved it.

I have been to many many places but this has been one of my favorite. Just home away from home. Very cozy, comfortable with great views. The mountains and the stream behind the house all added to the atmosphere

This property was a perfect place and location for us to attend a family reunion down the road at the Yellowstone River Ranch. It had plenty of room for our 7 adults and 3 kiddos; 2 1/2 years and under. Kitchen was well stocked, the beds were cozy and the pack-n-play and high chair were so convenient to use! The decor is something to look at and study as you learn about Yellowstone Park and just appreciate the numerous park/cowboy themed items. Wendy is a wonderful hostess and will make your stay the best it can be!

This property is a unique gem! It is located next to a creek. It was the perfect place for our group to stay and go into the park. The host was helpful and quick to respond. Fabulous!

We absolutely loved the place. It was decorated with a homey/cozy feel that make you feel right at home. Our family of 10 ranged in ages from 5 to 60 and everyone had plenty of room. We cooked multiple meals and were so happy to have a crock pot and other items readily available. The hand sewn pot holders were adorable. We had a mini photo shoot in the front and back yard. 10/10 would stay here again!

We were a three generation family from all parts of the country. This property was perfect for us. Eleven total with a few more coming for meals. Backyard with stream, 2 picnic tables, and fire pit was perfect. Front yard worked for soccer and gymnastic practice. Kitchen was well appointed for a large group and all bedrooms, baths, etc worked great for the extended family Only grandson got the cabin and loved it! Everyone loved the western decor. Highly recommend this property. It is an easy drive into Gardiner and Yellowstone Park.

This home is spacious and located in a rural area with the peaceful sound of a creek in the backyard.
I loved sitting and reading on the cozy firepit area as the creek flowed nearby!
I liked the abundance of hot water as we had 5 adults traveling, using all 3 bathrooms.
The binoculars provided were a nice added touch as well.
There were some minor inconveniences in the kitchen, but the host was quick to tend to them. I loved her friendliness and speedy response to our needs. She commented that someone else had cleaned in her place. I think the issues we had would have been avoided if she had been able to clean; however, I cannot give it 5 stars for cleanliness as I must base my review on my experience.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Perfect location - close to Gardiner and Yellowstone but quiet and private. The cabin was spacious, had everything we could possibly need and had the best decor. The cabin has so much personality! The creek and deck in the back provided a tranquil setting to relax after a long day in the park and we loved how the fire pit was right next to it. The cabin was easy to find and Wendy was quick to respond to messages. Highly recommend - we will for sure be back!

This was the perfect location for entrance into Yellowstone and the fun trip to Gardiner for shopping... although there are other homes very close, even on the porch, you feel secluded. This was the most stocked and homey comfy VRBO I have ever stayed in. My husband has informed me... we WILL BE BACK. We put shedding clothes on our dogs to help with hair and vacuumed before we left. The hosts left a huge amazing 3 ring binder that we referred to often for various things to see and do and places to eat. It was myself, my husband, our teen son, my mom, my sister, and her husband... along with our 2 small dogs and we had so much room. I would give this more stars if i could.

We loved the house, the area and Yellowstone! Wendy was super responsive and nice when we had any request. We enjoyed the stream out back and the fire ring and have wonderful memories of our time together there.
Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful place!

Have stayed in many vrbos and this home was one of the best! Beautiful home and surroundings, very clean and well stocked with quality products. Plenty of dishes if you want to cook. Beds were very comfortable. Leonard, in the apartment next door, was very friendly and helpful. Wendy was easy to communicate with and left very good information and instructions in the home. Would definitely recommend this place and stay again.

After our reservation (with a famous website that rhymes with cooking) got screwed up, we were frantically looking for a place for 8 people that was close to the park entrance. As things turned out, it was fortuitous for us as this turned out to be the perfect place! Lots of room, cozy, comfortable, with all amenities provided just as advertised. Beautiful views, beautiful stream right in the backyard and all just 10 min drive from the park entrance. The house is filled with cute furnishings perfect with it's theme. Wendy was always reachable, very helpful and accommodating. Had a wonderful vacation with family from all over US and overseas. Recommend highly especially for bigger groups

We last minute (literally a week before) booked tickets to visit Yellowstone! Not only was the park amazing but we loved hanging out at our VRBO stay! I think if we were here longer we could have done a whole staycation just here! We should be back in October to stay here again! Might make a yearly pilgrimage to it!

If you are visiting Yellowstone and plan to stay in the Gardiner area, this is the place. Perfect location, everything you need, plenty of space, and incredible beauty. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Everything we needed was provided and l in working condition. We used a crock pot, the stove, oven, dish washer as well as the washer and dryer, everything was great. The location is great, just a short drive into Gardiner and then on to Yellowstone. Overall this was the perfect place for our trip. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful home.

Wendy's spot was a great fit for our large group of ladies celebrating my mom's 70th birthday. We utilized almost all of the beds. The bedding and matresses were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and some basics. There was generous seating for our crew. We loved that we were less than 5 minutes from Yellowstone Hot springs and less than a half hour from Chico. There was plenty of parking. While we visited in February, the creek in the back yard was amazing...we would love to see it in the summer! The space isnt' new or fancy, but very comfortable and well loved. Would definitely recommend.

This was one of the coolest homes we have ever stayed at. You could feel love that this family put into decorating and maintaining this home.
Can’t wait to come back again.

Loved this location. Even though it was right off the main road, it felt like you were miles from real civilization. Every morning a herd of deer greeted us. It was a treat to watch them from the back deck while listening to the rush of the creek. The cabin is spacious and well appointed. Wendy is super responsive and helpful. The beds were super comfortable to sleep in after a long day of hiking in the National Forest (literally steps away from the cabin) or Yellowstone NP. Gardiner is just a short distance away with a perfectly stocked grocery store and neat shops and restaurants. Perfect place to stay. Would recommend to anyone traveling to the area.

We planned a short getaway for our family. It turned out to be a wonderful experience! The house was so clean and comfy and the location was great. Some of us went on a snow coach tour from Gardiner and some went to soak in the Yellowstone hot springs. Our dogs were with us and there were great walking places. The "Bunkhouse" atmosphere was just perfect. We wish we could have stayed longer. Wendy and her father-in-law were great to work with. Dont miss visiting this home!

We decided to go away last minute for Thanksgiving and found this gem! The price was spot on for the size and location of the home. I was concerned about how clean it would be considering all of the "stuff" in it, but was pleasantly surprised. There wasn't a speck of dust to be found! It was so fun to look around the walls and read the signs and look at all of the antiques. We visited Yellowstone hot springs two times, it's just a 5 min car ride. We were able to cook a full on thanksgiving dinner as they had any and every kitchen tool and pan you could want! The only feedback would be to have lights on the house when arriving in the evening, it was a bit hard to find. The lights on the garage didn't seem to work. Will definitely stay here again!
