We stayed in Carrie’s beautiful condo for 4 nights and were ultra-pleased with our choice. The unit is very comfortable, decorated with stylish taste yet homey. The building is secure and the location in the former State hospital is quite unique. It was super convenient having the stores and restaurants just downstairs in the Commons, as well as cool places on the outskirts surrounding the buildings, as well as walking trails and a lovely botanic garden. Check-in was simple and Carrie clearly communicated everything we needed to know for our stay.
Highly recommend both of the Italian restaurants, the brunch place (Red Spire), Left Foot Charley for a wine flight (& yummy snacks to go with it!)
Thank you Carrie for making our time in TC so very pleasant!
I would highly recommend booking this place!

Our trip didn’t quite go as planned. The day after we arrived we both became ill and tested positive for Covid. So we spent our trip hunkered down on the very comfy couch or in the equally comfy bed! We missed the Cherry Festival and the parade, and all that Traverse City has to offer. So we shall return!

My Sister and I had a little “sisters Trip” here at the Historic Hearth. It was very comfortable and clean and in the most amazing building. There are wonderful little shops in the Mercato on the ground floor as well as restaurants. We ate at Trattoria Stella and had an amazing dinner.
We will definitely return!

If you are looking for a great place to stay for two; this is your property. It has so much character and is decorated beautifully. We had all the amenities we needed and more. The Cherry Festival was going on which was a plus. We enjoyed the dunes, an old general store, great food and breweries and wineries. Parking was never an issue. You won't regret this choice.

Very stylish with high ceilings, abundant light, exposed brick, charming and impeccably clean. My only suggestion would be a good edit of the check-in instructions, which are a bit confusing.

We headed up to Traverse City for a weekend away. Over the weekend it snowed at least 16 inches but we were warm and toasty in our Historic Hearth condo. The Grand Traverse Commons is a perfect place to be snowed in with all the restaurants and shops. Plus from one end to the other is around 500 steps! Loved it!

My girlfriend and I are expecting your first child. We are very excited. We love Traverse City, especially the Commons area. We go up every year and with a little one on the way, we may not be going next year so we decided to take a winter babymoon trip. What a wonderful property it was. Highly recommend to anyone exploring the area. Close to downtown, and everything you will need is on property. Wonderful little apartment.

its small but super cute and comfortable. the one down fall for us was a full size fridge. we had so many leftovers from the great restaurants that we didnt have much room in the mini fridge. But we will definately stay again, we will have to be more conscious of bringing back leftovers. :) We were there for the tree lighting and farmers market and had an amazing time... Thank you for the recommendations of restaurants, we were not disappointed!

This unit is FRESH. The decor, the comfy bed and linens, the tall windows and high ceilings with a thoughtfully stocked kitchenette all surpassed our expectations. The location is perfect with added historical interest and close to many of our favorite restaurants and shops. Looking forward to our next visit.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely historic condo. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a perfect place to come back to relax each evening after exploring Traverse City and the surrounding area. The hosts were attentive and great to work with. We would definitely come back for a stay here at this beautiful condo!

The unit was lovely and a perfect size for our stay. The only issue we had was that there were a lot of fruit flies in the condo from the moment we arrived until we left. An email was sent to give notification and a response quickly received stating that they would put out some traps. Otherwise, we really liked the unit.

Great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet too. Well stocked with everything you need. When we had a little check-in problem, the owners responded immediately. Information books/menus about the area were helpful.Shops and places to eat in the building. Loved the Red Spire for breakfast. Would stay here again.

I stayed here twice this Summer and loved it each time. It's has a lovely, inviting decor and is very clean, comfortable and well located. Carrie was top notch...she provided detailed instructions in advance on parking, access, etc, and she answered her phone w/ a positive and polite attitude when I needed to call about a potential schedule change. I hope to return next Summer and if so, I will book again!

My husband and I love to stay in a unique setting when we travel. For us, the accommodations are just as important as the city that we're traveling to. "Historic Hearth" answered that need ten-fold, as it is located in a beautifully preserved building that holds a fascinating history.
Beautifully decorated, this unit was the perfect "nest" to return to after exploring the beauty of Traverse City and the surrounding wineries/breweries and quaint towns in the area. The condo itself provides everything you need, including an extremely-well stocked kitchen for dining in. The condo is also conveniently located in the same building as several exceptional restaurants and numerous retail boutiques to explore when venturing out. And exploring the grounds and walking trails is definitely "a walk in the park." I also found communicating with Carrie to be a breeze. She was always accessible via phone and/or text.
We can't wait to return to Grand Traverse Commons and this incredibly beautiful area of Michigan. For my husband and myself, it was a little bit of heaven in terms of the natural beauty that surrounded us, as well as the rest and relaxation it provided when getting away from the "rat-race" world. Thanks for a memorable weekend get-away!

We just came up for one night. My significant other has enjoyed staying at the old state hospital, but it was my first time. I will be going back as 1 night just wasn't enough. The condo was beautiful, very well stocked with the amenities. Clean and easy process.

We enjoyed our two-night stay at this property because of a number of reasons. The unit was appropriately furnished, the bed was comfortable, the building itself and history of the building is very unique and has undergone a great transformation, the proximity to nearby attractions and overall check in and check out process were delightful. The unit fits two people comfortably.
Please do note (we provided this feedback to the management team directly) that the WiFi/streaming signal to the TV in the living room is very very very weak. That same WiFi signal is great in the bedroom. Do not count on being able to watch TV uninterrupted. Trying to watch the NCAA Championship Final was a very poor and frustrating experience.
Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would consider this property for any future TC visits. Thanks again!

Check in was easy. There are so many great places to eat and shops all within walking distance. The condo is quite small but still nicer than any hotel room - definitely a single person or couple space only. More of a kitchenette than a kitchen but that suited us just fine. Very sunny place with lots of very tall windows. The entry door/wall is all glass (like a store front). It is covered in shades but we felt a little exposed sitting in the sofa just 10 feet away. The bedroom felt much more private. Not a dealbreaker but just different than other places we’ve stayed. Very clean and cozy. Communication with the host was great.

We really enjoyed our second stay at this property and we will certainly consider it again. The only trouble that we had this year that did not occur our prior stay is that the WiFi was VERY spotty and unreliable. It dropped our connections regularly no matter what we tried.

This location was great for our weekend getaway. A very clean condo with all the extras./ The location is superb. The Commons offer so many shops and restaurants. The Farmers Market on Saturday was great. Cuppa Joe had an amazing breakfast sandwich. Earth and Ales is a great place to grab beers, and relax ending the day. The location is only a mile from everything which is very convenient. The Flying Noodle has great dishes, but requires reservations made weeks ahead. The breweries, wineries, and shopping was very eventful. Will definitely be back to reserve again.

This is an awesome condo in an awesome building. The Grand Traverse Commons is an usual setting with much to offer with restaurants, shops, and hiking trails. We have stayed here four times and consider it our home away from home.
