A nice and big house with all you need for a vacation. A very nice host and very charming with small animals in the garden (squirrels and hummingbirds).

Easy access to town and outdoor areas, clean space with plenty of room. The grill came in handy. Outdoor patio area and fire pit is nice.

We loved our stay at this property. This was our second time staying at Marty's home and it was fantastic! She even set up a Christmas tree for us. Fully equipped kitchen, great fireplace, comfy beds, great location. Highly recommend!

I organized a family reunion here and it did not disappoint! Cozy, well maintained property with a beautiful front porch/ yard to enjoy. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful- would definitely visit again!

This is a beautifully laid out, spacious house with generous yard, and a charming, communicative and helpful hostess, Martha. Martha leaves the home in a warm, fully furnished, fully equipped, clean and tidy state that makes you feel you're staying with a close friend.
It is well located with plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling or skiing in the winter, with Woodstock within easy driving distance.
Martha particularly deserves mention - she went out of her way to help our family enjoy our stay, including purchasing a desk to help my daughter with her studies. This exemplifies how Martha makes her clients feel at home.

Martha (Marty) is a wonderful hostess. All of our questions were answered immediately. The house is gorgeous and decorated delightfully. We spent so much time on the porch. Beautiful flowers, comfortable furniture, hummingbirds and even a baby bunny hopped up for taste of the trumpet flowers. There were only two of us but the house is big enough for plenty more. There are TV's in every bedroom. Air conditioners in all the bedrooms kept us cool even though temps were close to 100. The rest of the house felt cool and comfortable all day. Can't wait to go back as I wasn't able to soak in that amazing tub or use the fire pit as it was just too hot. The fire pit was all set up and ready to go - darn heat. The barn is so cute and looks so comfortable with a couple more beds and yes, a tv too. The yard is huge and perfect for a game of corn hole or whatever you have. Everything you need is there - sometimes in multiples. Kitchen is big and perfect for "group cooking". Absolutely can't go wrong staying here! I need to check availability and plan my next visit.

We just finished a marvelous three night stay in Shandaken. Martha was quite possibly the best host I've ever had when renting a home- she was quick to reply with information and recommendations. She really took care of my Family.
The house is outstanding- large, spacious and generously equipped with anything you'd need! Towels and paper products were abundant. We were able to use the washer dryer which was wonderful. The house is centrally located for hiking and restaurants and exploring the Catskills.
We highly recommend Martha's home and hope to return again!

Great home for a ski vacation!
A perfect house for a big family. Many rooms and pretty spacious; truly felt like I was at home. Super close to Belleayre Mountain (5 min drive) and within 30 min to Hunter, Plattekill, and Windham. Cute, small town nearby with different restaurants and stores. The owner was absolutely delightful and responded very quickly to any of my questions/concerns. For sure will definitely come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I particularly enjoyed the very large dining room as a comfortable spot for hanging out and actually conversing with my family, and the stone fireplace, claw foot tub, and nice linens were a treat. It was an easy drive to Belleayre for skiing, and we had a great time!

Great weekend ski house!
So grateful to find this beautiful home available for a family winter/ski weekend. The home is fully furnished with all kinds of beautiful antiques, details, a great tub and a fabulous piano. The king mattress is fabulous and we slept so well. A TV in every bedroom was a hit w my teens. We’re so grateful we could bring our dog with us and she enjoyed being walked behind the house. It was only like 10+ minutes to Belleayre Mountain and an easy drive to Woodstock. Plenty of towels and blankets and everything we needed to just literally come on in and make ourselves comfortable. Dealing with Marti was wonderful. She was so responsive and helpful. The house comfortably sleep six between all three bedrooms so our teens had more than enough room, we are a family of four. Hope to book it again some time for sure!

Great space and location!
I stayed in this sweet house with four teenagers and a friend of mine. There's plenty of space for all. The kids hung out in the barn and loved it. There are a few seating areas outside if you want some privacy and fresh air. The kitchen has everything you need. It's a great location . . . quick trip to Woodstock, Phoenicia (and the Phoenicia Diner!), hiking, etc. The hostess was very responsive and helpful . . . she told us everything we needed to know before we got there and checked in to be sure all was well. Which is was.

We are seasoned VRBO users. This property deserves all the 5-star reviews it receives. Homey feel, comfortable and spacious. Great running room and privacy above home for dogs. Equally important is the wonderful and attentive owners who we communicated with. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Relaxing, Refreshing Scenic Vacation
This is my second time staying here and I will return. the first time my adult children and grandchildren stayed with us and this time it was me and my spouse. The house is everything as described and the location was perfect. The kitchen was recently updated with all new appliances and there are outdoor balconies and porches to enjoy the surroundings! Marty responded in a timely manner to all my emails and texts. A real vacation!

Marty’s house is a charming historic house with all the modern conveniences.. she’s furnished it with all the comforts of home! Comfortable beds, linens, towels.. lots of thoughtful little extras too. The porch has a large table & chairs for outside dining.. while the inside dining room adjacent to the kitchen seats at least 8 for visiting family meals & Yahtzee game nights :)
Lots of cozy spots to read, chat, or watch one of the many tv’s 🤣
All in all, a wonderful mountain retreat!

House is nice and cozy, it’s in nice area and lots of nature around, but we had very bad experience, it was storm and electricity went out, we have arrived at 10 pm and we could not see anything, whole town was dark and house is up the hill and could not see at all, I had to drive 50 mins away to purchase extension cord to pull electricity from my car, we have 2 small baby, we have arrived no electricity, no water, and everywhere dust and hot, I reached out the owner she said it’s happening and usually it comes couple hours but it didn’t come back until the next day, the house is old and everything inside is old and has specific smell, every door is cranking, it was horror movie, we would leave but there was nothing around, next morning, we wanted to use AC but filters was very dirty, we had to clean it, also window ramps had lots of insect bugs etc died and we had to clean that to to be able to open the window, tv, counter tops, tables, curtains, nothing have ever was cleaned, it was so much dust everybody was coughing, we cleaned everything and washed, store the garbage and organize for the cleaning people to take, we left around 11:30am, I’d never wrote this and I never did complain anything to her but she left me few voicemail that I left garbage sorted and 2 coffee cups and was complaining about it, when I paid so much money plus cleaning fee and I don’t get any rest, I had to literally work all this time to make everything comfy for my family, I’ll take this to VRBO,
Also place is in middle of nowhere so no stores or anything especially after 8pm.

My family (husband, myself, 5 year old and dog) enjoyed a weekend at this property. Communication with Marty was great. The house is lovely, clean, comfy beds, two full bathrooms and a ton of TVs. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, enjoying wildlife in the backyard, and exploring the area. There is a bit of road noise, but didn’t bug us. A quick drive to town, diner, hiking, etc. Recommended!!

From the moment we stepped out of the car, we knew our stay here would be special. The house is just gorgeous -- filled with so many unique and charming decorative touches and warm and inviting. Even though it's right off the highway, we still felt very much like were tucked into a mountain retreat. There's something so peaceful and restorative in the air and the energy throughout the property felt good. Marty was wonderful -- easily reachable and happy to answer any questions we might have while providing helpful tips, like do no miss stargazing! :-) Our family had a wonderful, restful time here. We spent as much time lounging on the porch as we did wandering nearby towns and got in some hiking too!
