About this cottage rental
Creek Cottage was built in 1939. A charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that has been updated with the aim of keeping the original farmhouse touches that make it very special. The photographs express it best. About .7 miles—or 14 uptown blocks— from the center of Woodstock, it’s an easy walk for city dwellers. But if you want to drive, it will take you about 3 minutes.
The cottage is truly cozy, but not because it’s tiny because it isn’t. It is just warm and welcoming, and it will bring a smile to your face as soon as you walk through the front door. The wide plank floors, beamed ceiling, and fireplace with original wood framing are striking. This is clearly a house where you can kick your shoes off and relax.
The kitchen is vintage in style but has modern appliances (no dishwasher, though). The large farm table can easily seat 6, and you’ll enjoy the views into the woods through the huge windows on two sides. On this main floor, there is a bathroom with shower, and you’ll find the washer/dryer here as well.
Both bedrooms are upstairs. One has a king-size bed, and the other has two twin-size beds. The bathroom has a tub and shower combination. In addition, there is a sitting area with a comfy couch and 43” flat-screen television, utilizing Sling TV. Of course, we have WiFi, too, so if you must engage with the 21st century on your vacation, you can!
Outside is a wooden deck with table and chairs. In summer, fresh herbs grow in the flowerpots, ready for you to pick fresh to use for your culinary endeavors. There is also a gas barbecue grill for your enjoyment, and we will supply the gas. Enjoy your meal looking right into the woods, and listen—much of the time you can hear the creek for which the cottage is named.
We supply many amenities for your stay:
Bed & bath:
All linens and towels for bed and bath
Paper goods for the bathroom
Shampoo
Conditioner
Bath soap
Hair dryer
Kitchen:
Dishwashing soap
Brand new sponge
Paper napkins

Charming cottage situated in the woods, close to main road, but not so close as to be bothered by road noise. it was clean and well-stocked and would definitely stay there again.

This was my second time staying at this cozy cottage with my dog to do some relaxing and some hiking to see the fall foliage. It was another great time. I chose to stay here again because the property is so pretty and it just has everything you’d ever need — from all the kitchen supplies to reliable WiFi. And this time Robyn provided some delicious local coffee and snacks! My dog enjoyed having a yard to run around a bit and we both felt quite at home.

We truly enjoyed our long weekend at the cottage. It was charming, clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Town is a short drive away for shopping and restaurants and there are many trails nearby. Robyn, the property manager, was wonderful as well. We would highly recommend staying at this lovely cottage!

My friend and I stayed in this cozy farm house over the xmas weekend 2022. Robyn, the host, was quick to respond to inquiries. The house was fully equipped with everything needed ...we felt at home. Town is approximately a 20 minute walk and there are several hiking trails nearby, however need a car to get to trails. Overall, great stay and highly recommend!

This darling cottage was the absolutely perfect place for our girls weekend. Neat, clean, perfectly laid out, picturesque and quaint. So peaceful and relaxing. Close to town of Woodstock for eating, drinking and shopping. I can't wait to go back foe another magical weekend.

My husband and I enjoyed a cozy two nights here. It was cold outside, but warm in the cottage. The bed was very comfortable. The TV allowed us to livestream a concert that night. The kitchen had everything we needed. And sitting outside watching the leaves fall was peaceful and lovely.

Charming cottage retreat
Comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, fabulous fire pit and deck added to the darling stone cottage in the woods! Upstairs shower pressure was poor however. Had to use first floor bath. A beautiful weather weekend added to this special place!

Woodsy weekend
Creek Cabin is a cute older home that has been renovated. It stayed cool despite the summer heat and AC was strong when needed. There is a big and well-equipped kitchen and a nice patio out back (didn’t use patio due to rain). For tall folks (probably anything over 6 feet), be aware that the ceilings are quite low and have exposed beams. Bottom of beam seems only about 6 feet above floor. Also for those with kids or pets, or unsteady on their feet: there is a banister on the wall side of the stairs, but the other side has no banister or railing and someone could tumble right off. For petite, healthy adults, it is a great woodsy getaway.

Great getaway
We really enjoyed our weekend away. The house is convenient to downtown while being far enough away that you can have total peace and quiet. The king size bed was very comfortable, which we’ve found to be the exception with VRBO rentals.

New Year’s Getaway
Cute little cottage in the woods but so close to town. It was a relaxing getaway from city life. The house is set back from the road which makes it private but we found it a bit tricky to negotiate road/driveway at night. Robyn the property manager is extremely kind and responsive.

Quaint Cottage
My family spent the Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage is a 2-minute drive to the center of Woodstock, and we were close to everything that the area had to offer. The cottage is small, but more than large enough for a family. The home was also well stocked with almost anything you would need for cooking - Pots, pans, oils, spices, etc. Also, they have toiletries if you forget your shampoo, conditioner, soap. The ceilings are a bit low so you need to watch your head! Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking to be close to Woodstock and the surrounding areas.

quiet little house
Cute small house, we enjoyed looking at the architecture of the home. The ceilings are quite low, so if you are over 6'3" be careful! I took 1 start off for cleanliness bc the dishes in the cabinet were all dirty; greasy & fingerprints all over the glasses. Since there is no dishwasher, I guess the previous renters weren't familiar with hand washing dishes. The house IS very close to town, but there is no sidewalk or even a shoulder to walk on. And cars whizzing by. So, walking into town was not an option for us. Kitchen windows are lovely, looking into the woods. Gas grill was great and tank full

Cozy cabin with a great location!
A friend and I stayed in this cozy cabin for a weekend wedding celebration. The property is great! Just a short walk to town, but far enough away to feel very private. The rooms and facilities were charming and well maintained. Robyn was very helpful and a great hostess!

What a great cottage in a beautiful setting! It was very clean, attractively decorated, the bathrooms had nice, individual bath products (unexpected bonus!), a very large kitchen with windows all around to take in the setting (we watched deer walk by each evening). The kitchen was well-equipped and well-organized. There were plenty of paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, etc, which is not always the case), dish soap, hand soaps. We sat out on the back deck and also made use of the fire pit. The king bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and the bedding and linens were soft and cozy. There is such a feeling of peace being among the trees. We knew there were neighbors but we didn't hear or see them. The town of Woodstock is two minutes away. We did not walk there but you certainly could in probably 15 minutes. We enjoyed a hike up Mt. Overlook and spent another morning at Opus 40. This was our introduction to the area and we know we want to come back. And our first choice would be to stay at the Creek Cottage. It should be yours, too!

A cozy cottage rejeuvenation
After a tough year in suburbia, we enjoyed 3 nights in this woodsy cottage, less than a mile from the shops of Woodstock. Even though many restaurants and shops were closed mid-week we didn't mind a bit. We used the ample kitchen to cook some breakfast and dinner with items purchased from the vegetarian's paradise grocery store Sunflower Market, and enjoyed the luxury of the wood burning fireplace. The views of the trees from every direction, and the deer that occasionally visited were a great balm for our pandemic-frayed nerves. The fact that the wifi was reliable meant I could catch up on some work which I unfortunately had to bring with me. The beds were comfy, the house was clean, and there was an instructional book left with anything we needed to know about the house and the area. Robyn was super-responsive. Glad we could bring our little dog who loved it too! We definitely want to come back! Hope we can still get a reservation!
