This extremely private, gated villa is comprised of a magnificent main house and closely adjoining carriage house, lovely and charming. Both enjoy sweeping captivating mountain top views across the Caribbean to the British Virgin Islands on the horizon.

The pictures do not reflect how nice the property is in person! Every bedroom is nice and plenty of space to spread out. We had 11 adults and really enjoyed the outdoor area, pool and hot tub with excellent sound system! Propery manager, Eddie, very responsive with any problems or requests! We used Owen as a driver a lot and he also made excellent recommendation for boat rental! Use Local Time for best prices and fun captain!

Beautiful view. The house was very well equipped and comfortable for guests in the main house. The cottage with two bedrooms was not great. We made it work though. Only other complaint was the add on costs for the 4th and 5th bedrooms and hot tub.

Our family of 12 stayed for an awesome week at Eminence on High in December.
First, the location is amazing! On top of the Bordeaux mountain ridge at over 1,000 ft elevation, it was 8 degrees cooler than at sea level. The view to the north and east is incredible! The first few days we experienced what the locals call the “Christmas wind” and up there it was blowing hard. After that we had a nice constant breeze. The wind and cooler air would be even more appreciated in warmer months.
Located in the middle of the island, it’s closer to some of the snorkeling spots we like and easy to get to anywhere on the island. The road up is good except for about the last 100 yards, so you do need a jeep.
The villa itself is stunning. Everything was clean when we arrived. It has beautiful décor, nice furniture, comfortable beds and sheets, plenty of towels, a good washer/dryer, complete cooking supplies and lots of dishes in the main kitchen as well as the party room. There are two refrigerators, a wine cooler and an ice maker. Lots of beach towels and chairs. The heated pool and hot tub were much appreciated on the colder days. We loved the party room for our evening meals and hanging out; the stove in the party room wasn’t working but that was just a minor inconvenience.
We look forward to having an opportunity to stay again at Eminence on High Villa.

The house was beautiful. Pictures didn’t do it justice. Yes the drive up is very bumpy, but our Jeeps made it up with no issue. The views and pool were fabulous. Unfortunately the hottub was still out of commission and would have been nice at night as the pool is too cold. We would definitely stay there again. Plenty of room to spread out, kitchen and amenities are great. We did have a strong storm one day that brought water in from the ceiling and the windows in the main hallway. There also seems to be some water damage in the 1st floor bedroom closet. Only other issue were some mice that left their evidence in the mornings. I don’t consider this an issue because you are literally within nature in this home. We saw tons of frogs, birds, unique bugs including a few tarantulas living inside the bromeliads outside. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of frogs and wind through the palms every night. The kitchen A/C was a MUST and I’m so happy we purchased it extra. It works VERY well. The solid wood windows and furnishings are astonishing. Overall just really really missing our time spent here and hope to visit again soon! We got ready for our wedding here that occurred on Peace Hill and I’m so happy we chose this home.

We had a wonderful time at this villa. The views were breathtaking! Highlights include sunrises from the master bedroom wraparound balcony, family dinners in the indoor/outdoor second kitchen at the massive table, and cooling off in the pool.
As for communication, the property manager and owner were both extremely responsive and helpful. We loved that there were plenty of beach towels and beach chairs, which we took with us daily.
Only callouts were that the hot tub, 2nd kitchen stove/grill top, and 2nd kitchen garbage disposal didn't work unfortunately, but we made due with the outdoor grill!
Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous home with incredibly views. Hot tub is not functioning and if it were there is an extra charge to use the hot tub and to have the pool heated to a point that you would want to swim in it so make sure you're aware of the extra fees and order before you arrive. Other than that the place is amazing.

We stayed for a week. The home was perfect for six couples. Do you have to heat the pool their ice cold otherwise. It looks like it’s the highest spot in St. John so we had a lot of wind up there but the view is simply stunning and the property is absolutely wonderful.

The property is absolutely stunning and was great for two families. The cooks kitchen was such a nice touch…incredible appliances! Views are spectacular and breezes were welcome in the afternoons. We appreciated all of the details and extras!! Of course the road up to the house is bumpy but aren’t they all?!😄

Experience was straightforward, responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend to others. A few small amenities to consider: dish towels, explanation of the AC controls, kitchen essentials (spices, etc), and regrading the gravel drive. All else was excellent!

Our family of 11 had a fantastic stay at Emminence on High in June. The property easily handled our group allowing for privacy and great times in the common areas. There was sufficient parking for 3 Jeeps, The views and breezes were incredible and the location serene and well situated to enjoy all St John has to offer. This is a quality villa and hands down the best we've enjoyed (we liked them all but this place is amazing!) in our 5 trips to St John.

This was our fourth trip to STJ and each one is better than the one before! This was a trip with 3 families of kids teens and adults. This house was perfect us! We had tons of room to hang out (coffee in the outdoor kitchen each morning for sunrise) before and after the beach! (Evenings on the porch with bourbon and ice cream). The pool was perfectly chilly and refreshing. We were disappointed that the hot tub was inoperable but we survived ;)
The beds were comfortable and the AC for the bedrooms was perfect. We loved the outdoor showers and the kitchen was perfectly well stocked for our meals we made each day.
The outdoor grill by the pool was put to good use. Oven was awesome.
ICE MAKER! was so wonderful we used it every day.
The breezes on top of Bordeaux Mountain are just unreal! It was such a nice way to spend our evenings after sun all day at the beach.
Beach chairs, towels and coolers were wonderful amenities.
Some notes and tips for future renters:
If you plan to cook dinner it may be worth the extra $400 to run AC in the kitchen area because the entire kitchen turns into an oven as soon as you turn on the actual oven. There are awesome hall windows that open and get breezy in the kitchen though. It could just be that we are from the South and really like our AC.
The HOTTUB WILL NOT be working until at least November of this year.
The outdoor kitchen is not permitted for use due to fire codes so even though there is listed two kitchens, the outer area does have a sink and a great dishwasher but no cooking areas.
Overall this place was EXCELLENT and we loved our stay here!!!

Our group of 8 adults (4 couples) had an amazing week staying at Eminence on High! I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful home and property. The views from this house were stunning. Christine was so responsive and helpful, and answered all of our questions prior to arrival. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed so we arrived later than expected, but Vincent and Brenda were very accommodating and understanding.
The house was extremely clean and well-kept, and there was more than enough space for the 8 of us! The kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked...which was great considering we ate a lot of our meals in! The only trouble we had was an influx of sugar ants, but Vincent was immensely sympathetic and immediately tried to take care of the issue, which was much appreciated!
The house truly had everything we could want and more.
St. John is a beautiful island. We highly recommend renting a charter boat to explore the island and check out all of the snorkeling spots, hike Ram's Head trail, and lounge on the beach at Cinnamon Bay (the house even comes with beach chairs you can use). Some of the best food spots we went to were Rhumb Lines in Coral Bay, and La Tapa and Rum Hut in Cruz Bay. Also delicious margaritas and nachos at Greengo's!
Overall we had an amazing vacation, and can't wait until we can come back!!

Eminence On High was a great home away from home. I liked that the kitchen had everything that was needed as we did a LOT of cooking at the villa. We did not venture out in late afternoon because we were worried about finding out way back to the villa after dark. Loved lunch at Miss Lucy's!
The view was amazing at the villa! We spent a lot of time using the HEATED pool and hot tub. Heating the pool was well worth the expense. It can get chilly up on top of the mountain but you do not suffer in the heated water! I would definitely recommend this.

We enjoyed our vacation on St John and in this lovely home. Everything seems brand new and of the highest quality. The owners have not skipped a thing! We loved the sunrise views from the porch and the jacuzzi under the starry skies, We were glad we rented a 4wd vehicle, as the road leading up to the home is challenging, as others have stated. We would stay here again if we return to St John ! It is a beautiful spot! I highly recommend it.

What an incredible week! We have stayed on 7 other properties over the years, and this was a favorite for all family members, from my 4 children to my father. Clean, very up to date with every amenity at your fingertips, and extremely comfortable. Although I was leary about the location, it turned out to be perfect! 20 minute drive to Cruz Bay for dinner, or 15 minutes to Coral Bay. A true central location. Although we like to explore different locations with each visit, we all agree that we have to return to this one.

We had an incredible week staying at Eminence on High. The pictures do not do the property justice - the views are truly incredible and they have made several updates since they photos were taken. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essential pots. pans, bakeware, blender etc that you might need. Our group utilized all of the space provided and had zero complaints. The last bit of the drive in is rutted and steeper as indicated but we had no problems. Vincent was fantastic and responded promptly when we had questions. If you are looking for amazing views, a quiet secluded location on Bordeaux Mountain side of the island and wonderful accommodations, look no further!

The house was perfectly located for us. Convenient to everywhere we wanted to go in St. John. About 12 minutes from the markets in Coral Bay and only a little over 20 minutes to Cruz Bay. As expected, the driveway is rough, but despite having a 4x4 Jeep, we didn't need the 4x4 a single time. Just go slow and it's not too bad. Vincent did a fantastic job of taking care of us, he absolutely went above and beyond.
The only negative that we were surprised with was that we didn't have access to all 6 bedrooms. The additional bedroom(s) are available for an additional fee. IMO the listing didn't make that abundantly clear. Our kids were able to share beds, so it wasn't a big deal for us but if your group needs all 6 bedrooms, make sure to have that conversation when booking.

This is the sixth house we have stayed at on St John over the years and it was our favorite! It is beautiful inside and out. Everything looks new or recently updated. The master bedroom has the best view and the sunrise from the king bed is breathtaking!
The home is private and gated yet not remote. There are other homes near by but you can not see them at all from the house. I was a little worried the house was too far away from town but it ended up being a great central location for going down into Coral Bay are and beaches, or to Maho or back into Cruz Bay. Everything is within 15- 20 minutes in all directions pretty much and with the new midway grocery store, it’s very easy to grab groceries.
Every afternoon, after exploring a new beach, we looked forward to coming back to the house and just enjoying the patio, the view, the pool and a pina colada! We can’t wait to come back and spend another week or two at this truly beautiful home!

Eminence on High was a wonderful place for our family to stay. Each boy enjoyed having their own bedroom (with tv!) and they enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The location was great - fairly close to Coral Bay although the drive down 108 is treacherous - and close to Maho Bay and other north shore beaches.
Lots of room to spread out and relax and cooling breezes at night. Best beach chairs we’ve had from a rental and coolers a plenty for the beach. And great sunrises. We very much enjoyed our time. Only minor quibbles were lack of pantry staples (but I assume because of COVID) and Hopefully can get the indoor grill fixed! Thank you for sharing your home!

Beautiful villa with privacy and great views. 10-15 minutes from the nearest shops and restaurants, the location provides quiet relaxation while still being convenient. Be sure to reserve a 4 wheel drive vehicle well in advance as the driveway is steep and rocky and rentals are in high demand.

The villa is as beautiful as the photos show and the views are breathtaking! It is such a great location-easy access to the entire island. We couldn't have asked for more. The owner of property was very easy to work with and the property manager was fantastic and very helpful upon our arrival. We WILL return to this villa-hopefully sooner rather than later. I left my heart in St John, and I miss waking up to the amazing view every morning!

We had a lovely stay at the villa itself - it's got a spectacular setting, and the villa is as attractive and comfortable as the photos suggest. After our return however, we had an unpleasant final exchange with the owner which colored our experience for the worse. Per the rental agreement, our security deposit was due to be returned a month after our departure date. After that date passed, I contacted the owner to inquire about the return of our deposit and she assured me she would have it taken care of. Several days later we received a check - but instead of being for the full amount we put down, it was for only 80% of the deposit and there was a note in the memo section: "security deposit minus grill use fee." Grill use fee??? We have been renting villas on St. John for more than 20 years, and in many other places as well, and have never run across anything like a "grill use fee." It seemed ridiculous and when I complained that there was no "grill use fee" identified in our signed rental agreement, the owner re-sent me a copy of the "pre-arrival note" that she had emailed a couple of days prior to our trip. Buried in the middle was a notation saying there was a three-figure fee for use of the grill. Aside from the fact that I have no idea what could possibly justify a separate fee for using something so basic to a vacation rental as a BBQ grill we have NEVER had an owner or property manager try to assess an additional fee outside the rental agreement. I registered our complaint about this again, but more than a month later we have received no response. It's not worth calling a lawyer over this amount of money but it's left a very bad taste in our mouths and we would not rent from this owner again.

Just returned from this amazing villa. I traveled to St. Thomas for the first time with my parents, husband, and two teenage children. It was the trip of a lifetime in large part due to this incredible property. I have been to Maui, lived in coastal Northern California, and traveled the Amalfi Coast in Italy but this view from the decks of this property are the most amazing I have seen anywhere. The property is very well-equipped and the security is excellent. We loved the island and visited Sapphire Beach and Megan's Bay. The owner and manager were wonderful and we hope to return!

We just returned from 12 nights at Eminence on High. This villa exceeded our expectations!!!
The views out of Bordeaux Mtn are amazing. We overlooked Coral Bay, out to the East End of the island and Tortola in the distance. There were countless vista points throughout the property and each gave an equally impressive view. The property is also professionally landscaped and maintained. Driveway in was behind gates and plenty of room to pull in, turn around and pull back out. At the entrance to the home, there is a guest house that also has a laundry room equipped with detergents, etc. There was also three coolers to take to the beach. As one other person mentioned, no snorkel equipment (which was fine), so we rented some down in Cruz Bay for a week.
Prior to the trip, I had concerns on safety of the villa (I had brought my two small children (3 yo & 4 yo), a "mobility challenged" father). I had little to worry about at this villa. The walk up to the main house from the driveway was about 30 steps on tiled stairs with a railing on one side. The inside of the house was perfect. All 3 bedrooms in the main house were accessed through interior access (this was huge for us). The pool / patio areas are tiled. The pool can be accessed through glass doors that open from the outdoor eating area or from the outside patio. For the safety with the kids, we kept the glass doors closed/locked. The kids could still get to it if they walked around, but felt it was something they had to go out of the way to do (rather than falling). The view from the patio is amazing!! At first it appeared that they patio area dropped down into the mountain; however, there is a small ravine that is landscaped -- so that made me feel comfortable!
The villa was decorated TOP NOTCH and was pristine. The villa was stocked with anything you could think of: an abundance of linens, beach towels, seasonings, utensils. Small toiletries were provided. The villa also was equipped with a Sonos sound system which we used all the time to speaker in music throughout the villa and the pool. The Wi-Fi access was great. We were able to access it everywhere; except the stone sitting room. It came in great in the outdoor sitting area and pool. Because each adult brought phones and Ipads -- for cell service, AT&T worked well, Verizon didn't work (for us).
I would not hesitate in booking this villa again!

Loved my stay at Eminence on High in beautiful St. John. Unfortunately, I was only able to sneak away from work for a few short days, but this home hit the mark perfectly. The photos on the site represented the villa perfectly, the villa was in immaculate condition, and it is exactly what I had in mind. There is plenty of room at this villa for several couples, with enough places to lay around and read a book if you want to get away from things. Even though there is a home behind and in front of this villa, once you are in the house, you have to really work to see any spec of another house, and they certainly can't see you, so if privacy is important, you can certainly check that box here.
I cooked every day in the villa. They had absolutely everything I could have wanted. A nice steak on the grill one night.
The pool was cold, and I got in once, but the hot tub was perfect. Was great looking up at the stars in the bubbly hot tub with a cold beverage.
Leading up to my trip, I asked the owner several questions which were immediately answered; I really appreciated this as I didn't have a lot of time to get ready.
The only thing I would add is snorkeling equipment (many villas have a handful of masks and snorkels), and a slightly smaller cooler. For one person, the big cooler was a bit cumbersome (even though it has wheels), especially going to Salt Pond. (Clearly, if I'm mentioning these two little nits, the rest of the trip must have been spectacular, and it was. I have to give them *something* to work on. lol)
Also have to give a shout out to the property manager. I contacted him a couple of days beforehand, and since my time was limited, I asked that he just meet me at the Starfish market where I would buy provisions on my way in. He was perfectly flexible - I texted him in the checkout line, he told me that he was in the parking lot, I came out, and he was in the car next to me, and I was on my way. He gave a quick but very thorough run through the house with me, and he was on his way. It could not have been a more efficient check-in. *Exactly* what I wanted.
A few lunches at Skinny Legs, Salt Pond, Trunk Bay, Hawksnest and Francis, and it was off to home for me. This time when I went to Trunk Bay, I got there early (like 9 or so), and went to the far right as you face the water. There was a nice nook there that gave some privacy. I'll be back.
