About this house rental
We would love to share our beautiful home on Center Hill Lake with you and your family! It is very unique in that it is one of only a few homes on the lake located on the water. You can, literally, back your boat from the house right into the water. While spending the day out boating you can drop off anyone who needs a rest at the house and then pick them back up with ease. It is a 50 yard paved walk to the boat launch!
The home is two levels. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, but has beds for 10. The upstairs has a covered back porch for easy parking and handicap access. You can actually access both the upstairs of the home and the downstairs without using stairs if needed.
The kitchen has modern appliances and is fully stocked with dishes, utensils and amenities, including microwave, blender, coffer maker, crock pot and griddle. There is a large dining room table and smaller side table if you need more seating.
We now have internet with 250 Mbps WiFi if you need to connect remotely!
The upstairs family room has a 50 inch HD TV and DVD player with DISH cable, including ESPN. There is plenty of seating for large groups and a selection of DVDs and board games for the family.
There is spacious front porch that runs the length of the home and is accessed through two separate, beautiful sliding doors. There is a large amount of outdoor seating for watching all the wildlife and a large gas grill.
On the lower level you can play games on the ping pong table or separate pool table, or watch games on the 50 inch HD TV in the downstairs family room!
There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer.
Have fun in the large front yard playing ball or picking apples from one of the 3 apple trees that bear fruit in mid to late summer. You can also enjoy a fire out under the stars and roasting smores in the fire pit near the house. There is also a canoe to carry down to the water to quietly explore the lake!
We are located just 15 minutes from I-40 by car. It is just under an hour to Nashville International Airport and is a very easy drive. We are 15 minutes from the town of Cookeville, where Tennessee Tech is located. There is every restaurant you can imagine, along with movie theaters, bowling alley and roller skating in case you have a rainy day. We are less than 10 minutes by car from Cookeville Boat Dock Marina. By boat, we are less than 10 minutes from Hurricane Marina and are located right at the entrance to Mine Like Creek - famous for its wakeboarding and water skiing conditions.
Whether you are just wanting to have a large place for several families to meet, a place right on the water with easy access for boating, a mile of walkable shoreline for exploring and fishing, or thousands of acres of adjacent US Corp of Engineers property for hunting, we think you will have a great time at our home!

We had a great time! Short walk to lake access or you can drive and park. Can launch a boat there as well. Great swimming area. We floated in the cove all day. House was great! Quiet neighborhood. It was a great getaway with friends. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a great place and close to the area to put the boat in if you have one. We have a Party barge pontoon and was able to get the boat in and out. 4 wheel drive was a help getting out. The locals in the small valley were very friendly and gave alot of great information and pointers.

My family and I spent a week at the house, and we enjoyed our stay. There were seven of us, and there was plenty of room. Wifi and all necessities were available. We were thinking we would have a view of the lake, but that is not the case, so if you are looking for that, this is not the right location. That said, the lake is good and deep and you don't have to deal with the "lake muck" if you go swimming.

I have severe scoliosis and have had a spinal fusion. Also have arthritis and degenerative disc disease. With that being said, this was by far the worst bed I've ever slept on! I have been in constant pain since the first night of constant tossing and turning. I checked the other bed as well and none seemed very comfortable but the master could definitely use a new mattress. Overall, the house was great but i would not recommend in the winter because it could be difficult to access. The teens loved the pool table and ping pong table. The lake access was mostly just for boat ramp use and not much room for fishing or swimming.

We loved the house and how close to the water for the kids to swim.

We enjoyed our stay here for the most part.
Pros: It was clean and orderly; living area was comfortable area to hang out in; wifi worked; kitchen was not bare and had basics; A/C worked good.
Cons: It's not a lakeside or lakeview - it's uphill and behind trees from the lake - according to a local marina the lake level can rise or fall 30' - so if it was up maybe we could've seen the water; very limited outdoor funiture; mattresses need updating; never got TV in basement to work; no screens on doors or windows so had to keep everything closed up.

Spacious home plenty of room for the family to get together but also enough room to have your own space.

This house was previously in our family and we were thrilled to return to stay in it at Center Hill Lake. Great time making new memories!

Super clean house that was right by the lake . Perfect fire pit set up ! You can’t beat the front porch for some coffee time or just hang out time. The teens really enjoyed the downstairs. There were many waterfall trails close so we took full advantage of those.

The house is awesome for a large family and then some. Center hill lake ROCKS and it’s an amazing destination for us who wanted to boat and water ski. The boat ramp and roads in the neighborhood were a bit rutted up and narrow for our 22 foot boats to feel comfortable launching there. We chose to launch at Cookeville boat dock instead. Plenty of other folks in the neighborhood launched at this place. Overall a great place and a great location. Will definitely be back to Center Hill Lake!

A great way to get your own boat in beautiful Center Hill Lake! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

The house was outstanding! Fishing on the lake, kayaking to burgess falls/fancher falls, then grilled out on the porch while kids played pool and ping pong. The house had everything we needed for the weekend. Will be back to continue our adventures in the cumberland gap.

This house was perfect for our needs. We had 3 adults and 5 children under age 6. The bunks were perfect for them. We loved the walk down to the lake to throw and skip rocks. We didn’t swim as it was really a boat launch area. The entire house was decorated so nice! It had everything we needed in the kitchen. We used the big gas grill one night. We enjoyed the fire pit area and benches for our smores both nights. We had a little hiccup with the door code but it was my fault for not downloading the docs prior to arriving. Tim answered us quickly- problem solved. We all enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend

Easy access to the water, well stocked kitchen and nice amenities. Host is super responsive and the paperwork he sends ahead is a ton of information about the area and extremely helpful!!! I would love to return for sure!

Beautiful home. Clean. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice to have dishwasher and laundry. Games room downstairs entertained all ages. There is a door separating the main part of the house to the games room and sleeping area. It’s nice to block some noise. If you had little kids this would be great to keep them sleeping. 😁
This house only sleeps 8 comfortably but 4 with no privacy which worked fine for us. The host said he was going to update the listing and so that might have been corrected by the time you read this. Host was very responsive and available.
We took in some of the trails and waterfalls in the area and town was pretty close too.
We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation.

My group ended up having 8 people stay here and there was more than enough room. The kitchen, living room, all beds, one bathroom, and lots of porch space are on the main floor; the second living space with the pool + ping pong tables, the laundry room, and another bathroom are downstairs. Everything was clean and well maintained and the host was kind and responsive.
It is fairly easy to navigate to from the I-40, but the last mile or so of the drive is a somewhat steep and curvy one lane road and the driveway is gravel. None of our cars had any issues getting there (including a FWD sedan), but we also didn't have any rain/snow/ice during our stay. There is plenty of space for parking.

Awesome property, super cozy and plenty of places for our whole group to sleep. The pool table is the only thing I can really find fault with as it’s just in bad shape. We will be back next year. The host was immensely helpful and responded immediately to my messages while we were there.

We thoroughly enjoyed the home, it was furnished very well as a country lake home. We enjoyed the kitchen and the grill to cook what we had hunted. It was a fantastic weekend. Spending time with friends and getting our center hill lake peace. We love the big ridges, the beautiful hollows and clear water. Its an amazing place that I'll always enjoy.

Very comfy & relaxing atmosphere. The only thing I would warn anyone planning to stay here with small children are the indoor steps leading down to the gameroom area. Otherwise, a near-perfect stay.

The upstairs of the house met our expectations, & was VERY pleasant; clean, lots of room, WELL stocked kitchen, NICE pantry, beds & furniture were very comfortable, lots of parking even for a boat, & host was very nice & accommodating. However, the downstairs was VERY musty moldy smelling! Therefore, we were not able to go down & enjoy the table games, extra sitting area, & bed areas downstairs. Not sure the cause, but a constant temperature may help solve this? An Essential Oil Diffuser may help as well? But definitely needs to be addressed!
There is such easy access from the back porch for loading/unloading. But the mosquitos were so bad on the back porch that we had to go get YardGuard to control them in order not to have a house full of mosquitos every time we opened the door. They were also so bad in the yard even after using YardGuard that we did not get to enjoy the firepit but 1 hour one night, then we decided it wasn't worth the fight and went inside.
As stated in their post, there is no view of the lake but it does have a fairly easy access to the lake with a easy 1-2 minute walk down to the lake with an uphill hike back up to the house. It was VERY nice to be able to have such easy access to go swim, sunbath, fish, or just sit and enjoy the view. The lake access is in a gentle sloping cove so would be great for kids to swim & play. And could even pull your boat up.
BRING TOILET PAPER!!! They only supplied 2 rolls per restroom for 5 people for 4 nights. BRING LAUNDRY DETERGENT!!! There were only 4 towels per bathroom, for the entire stay.
You MUST purchase damage insurance to stay here or charge AN HUGE Damage deposit on your credit card (they wouldn't let me put exact $) for over a month & then have to eat the interest for the waiting time between paying for the rental until after your stay is inspected & cleared to get a refund. Either way, it cost me extra, unnecessarily. If you would just charge the deposit to my card on the day of arrival and then refund the amount upon leaving & inspection, it would have cost me nothing at all. I was not happy having to pay the extra unnecessary cost. This is like a gimmick to fund someone's insurance business.
Suggested Needed Items: garlic press, 9x13 casserole dish, full length mirror, better lighting over upstairs game table, more rocking chairs on deck.
Overall, IF it weren't for the moldy smell downstairs & the extra cost of damage insurance, I would definitely rent this place again.

Everything was perfect, communication with owner was phenomenal! However it’s listed as a handicap accessible but if you can’t walk you can’t get in. The steps to get in are steep. I was warn to bring a ramp before I came. Also I was led to believe that I could get downstairs by going outside and coming in the bottom door. However that is too steep for a person to be in a wheelchair. The bathroom upstairs has no bars either. But we made it work!! And really had a great time!
I will say regardless it is a very nice place I was able to do everything else and I really enjoyed it!

Nice lake house! Close to boat drop-in/ beach area to swim. House is clean and good size. Only complaints are very uncomfortable beds and musty smell throughout the house. I would completely recommend to any family for a lake stay retreat! Much fun!!

We had a wonderful time! The location is great – right on Center Hill Lake on the boat launch. We brought our boat and toured the lake for hours nearly every day and still didn’t get all the way through exploring the whole lake. You can boat right up to waterfalls and there are places to cliff jump. We swam right at the launch too. The home was very clean and everyone loved it there, it felt like home away from home. Would definitely visit again.

Great Weekend!
The house was very clean, had good sleeping facilities and we loved the porches! The kids enjoyed the pool table and pingpong table. We liked that it was an easy walk down to the lake for our fun boating time. The kitchen is a bit shy of eating utensils for our family of ten, but that's an easy fix. We highly recommend this house for fun times and relaxation. Compliments to the Myers family for creating a wonderful place for family-friendly fun!

Nice serene getaway
My wife and I have owned and run 2 locations of a retail business for almost 27 years and many times we don't know very far in advance if we can get away from the stores. When we do, we prefer a place of natural beauty and quiet. We found it with this property. Many properties we looked at had lake views, but no access. We rented a pontoon for fishing/recreation one day and decided not to fish. We were able to pull in and unload the fishing stuff into the house so we could just enjoy the rest of the day unencumbered with fishing poles etc. If you think you might enjoy a serene country getaway with gorgeous views in a house with Center Hill lake access, look no further!

Great stay!
We only stayed 2 nights but had a great time and experience! The house was very clean and we loved how close and easy it was to put the boat in the lake. We had no issues and the hosts were quick to respond when I had a question. We can’t wait to bring our kids back in the fall!

Nice getaway!
We would love to return in the summer to use the lake! Still beautiful!! The host is very accommodating! I would suggest coming down the middle road into the hill and then coming in that way to the house. Not their fault at all, it’s a valley but there are some tough spots in the road leading to the house. Nothing they personally can do about it!! We just took the other way after the first trip in! The house is sooooooo cute!! We would definitely return!!

Wonderful, peaceful family getaway
Myself, my husband and our two young children stayed here for a week over Thanksgiving. The house itself was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to stay entertained (the kids loved the downstairs pool table and ping pong table) and to cook thanksgiving dinner. My 2 older brothers and their teenage kids flew in for thanksgiving day and there was plenty of room for everyone. We all enjoyed making s’mores in the fire pit, playing cards and games and waking down to the lake. We had a wonderful view of the lake from the porch since there were no leaves on the trees. This house is definitely a bit of a drive from civilization but we knew that going in and the drive in every direction is very scenic. I would recommend stopping at the grocery store on your way to the house and get laundry soap, dish washer detergent, toilet paper and paper towels along with any food you need. The closest actual grocery store is about 10 miles. There is a small store nearby that has a few grocery items in a pinch. We had an amazing stay and we would definitely come back. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
