Everyone in our group enjoyed this property. Owner was responsive to our questions. Private beach is very close, and very scenic! Two basement showers made beach-to-home transition very simple (especially nice for kids)! We spent much time enjoying the porch - it's a great feature. There are also great activities located within a short distance. We will keep this on our 'do it again' list!!

Our stay was wonderful! The host could not be more accommodating. The location was perfect, just a very short walk to either a private beach or Ocean Beach Park. We enjoyed eating breakfast of the lovely porch and being greeted by hummingbirds every morning. The house was lovely, typical of 1900's. Being so old, it had some idiosyncracies but they made for great stories! I am so happy we chose this rental for our family vacation.

Great location, short walk to private beach. We met people from the neighborhood, who along with the owners made suggestions for dining, ice cream, activities which we really appreciated. The house was spacious and had practically everything we needed. The living room is very comfortable with plenty of seating, the dining room large and bright and we just loved the porch. Lots of furniture to eat outside or just sit and enjoy the breeze. Our grandkids loved looking for crabs and exploring the rock jetties on all the beaches.

This is a must stay home. It has the charm of a historical home with a gorgeous wrap around porch. It has some quirky attributes, but it just adds to the ambiance of the place. There is always a wonderful cross breeze. Located on the corner and a 5 minute walk to the public with added access to the private beaches. The owners were wonderful to work with. Quick to respond to messages and provided personal phone numbers to contact them for anything! They also provide extra beach necessities so that you don’t have to pack them in your travels. Already booked again for next year!

This home provided the perfect place for us to gather and celebrate our daughter’s USCGA commencement. Be ready for some New England charm! Indoor and outdoor seating was plentiful. The kitchen was well equipped for meal prep and serving a group. Beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows as needed. We all enjoyed neighborhood walks and trips to the beach. Jane was immediately responsive to all our questions. A week was not enough time to enjoy all that this home had to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was a great size and location for what we needed. The location was amazing and the place was perfect for our family. The rooms were great and the Jane was right there to answer any questions.

The house is lovely and just as described. The beach is close and even in October it’s a nice beach walk to take in the sights. The owner was very responsive when I had a question due to my own confusion. We will definitely come back!

This is a very delightful place, with a wrap around porch which is perfect for long conversations.
The living room is also wonderful for paying games, and having conversatons.
The kitchen, while small, had everything we need to cook and clean.
One thing to be aware of. The downstairs does not have curtains, so there is something of a fishbowl effect.
All in all, we were very happy with the house, and the Neptune Beach neighborhood.

Nice area with a great private beach. House was large enough to accommodate all of us.

We loved this home which we rented while attending my sons graduation weekend at Connecticut College. It is absolutely charming with spacious rooms, beautiful, woodwork, and tons of personality. The property was just as advertised, communication with the owners was top notch, and the house was spotless when we arrived. Though we spent much of our time over the weekend at the college, the time we spent at this home was lovely. We enjoyed gathering for breakfast on the large, wraparound deck, a couple of morning swims from the beautiful Neptune beaches a mere block from the property, and some short walks in the neighborhood. Altogether, a delightful stay!

This VRBO experience was outstanding. Our communication with the property owners was superior. They answered all of our questions and helped us with additional information about the area (i.e., Restaurants, local attractions, bracelets to get into the private beaches, nearby, etc.). The home was immaculate. The wraparound porch with furnishings was absolutely the “cherry on top.” The home was furnished nicely, had games and beach items to play with, and all the amenities a home would need. The neighborhood was very nice, and the neighbors were extremely friendly. I highly recommend that anyone staying in the New London, Groton area for any occasion stay here.

We had a great stay and spent most of our days at Ocean beach, which was an easy walk. The owners were very responsive, accommodating and helpful, even to the extent that they got us a new air conditioner when ours wasn’t working well. The porch was great for breakfast as it got a bit warm in the house with the summer heat. Overall a great stay at a lovely beach house.

Big family house near many family attractions. Wonderful wrap around porch. Good parking. Walk to the beach and boardwalk. Great vacation spot

The house matches the description. Interior was even better than the pictures. The homeowner was really nice. Ocean beach park was really a block away from the house. Overall, we spend a really nice week in New London

What a lovely stay in Neptune Park! The photos do not do it justice - the inside is freshly painted and new furniture in the family room. This very spacious home has tons of character and everything you need to enjoy your time there. Jane was so responsive and we all had a wonderful time in this very special home.
The kids loved the close access to Ocean Beach Park, but they also loved the rental beaches accessible through the rental.
We are so happy we found this gem!

This house was great for a weekend in May when our daughter was graduating from Connecticut College. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the full bath area in the basement makes the house much more functional for larger groups. On a big beach day, expect traffic around the house, but it's a block or two to the beach, which is really beautiful and provides access to Ocean Beach, or 4 smaller private beach areas to the East. The kitchen is best for dealing with largely prepared foods, although everything is there to cook simple meals. Supermarket close by, and plentiful take-out options as well.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The giant wrap around porch was our favorite hangout spot. The neighborhood was great for walking. The proximity of the beach was great. Plenty of space for group. Everyone left with big smiles ❤️

Perfect spot for my family to stay for my daughters college graduation. The beach was beautiful and a short walk to the house. The house itself has a large porch with chairs to enjoy coffee in the morning. The inside was classic New England charm. We hosted a small family picnic, with plenty fo space for our guests. The hosts communicated well throughout the process.

The cottage is an older home located very close to the beach. It is quirky - and a very casual type of place. The owners described it well, and we had all we needed for a weekend reunion.
It is well worn, but comfortable. The tilting floors had been explained to us, but they did make us laught a bit as we navigated after a few adult bevarages!

We had a lovely stay for our beach weekend. The beach itself is quiet and pretty. The sand is pristine and we had some good waves for the kids to play in. We were not expecting the sloping floors on the porch and upstairs--the listing didn't mention them so it was a bit of a surprise. Everything was completely safe, though, and the house is charming and very close to the beach.

Brought my daughter, her three friends, and my mother-in-law for a mini girls’ getaway to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday and give the girls a chance to relax and regroup before beginning their senior year of nursing school.
The communication with Jane is more than could ever be expected. She is responsive, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The house was perfect for our group. Lots of space to be all together and also spread out for some quiet time. The front porch is wonderful! The proximity to the beach was exactly what we needed and we enjoyed several walks there and through the beautiful neighborhoods. Delicious lunch at Captain Scott’s and a fun dinner dinner on the pier at The City Dock - the bartender there may have been one of the friendliest people I have ever met! We spent a fabulous day in Mystic - visited the aquarium and shopped at Old Mistick Village.
Really, could not have loved our time there any more than we did!

This is a spacious home with lots of character. Crooked floors and cozy basement added to the charm. We had plenty of space to relax, lots to do, and easy access to public and private beaches. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen was adequately equipped. We loved hanging out on the full porch, where there was always a pleasant breeze. We took full advantage of the supplied washer and dryer, beach chairs, gas grill, and games. We had to deal with a couple of maintenance issues, but the owners were easy to reach and helpful. Highly recommended!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Neptune Park neighborhood. Loved the proximity to the beach and friendly neighbors. The house itself was an adventure! We enjoyed discovering it's quirks (e.g. sloped floors!). It was clean and more than enough room for our group of 6. The owners were wonderful - very responsive and accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bridget Dobson House. As we celebrated our son’s Commencement at the Coast Guard Academy, we enjoyed the beach, the walks and the ability to spread out at the house with family and friends.

you step back in time to the early 20th century in this house with its dark wood panelling and ceilings and its wraparound porch. It's furnished very simply like an old-fashioned beach house. The floors on the porch and some of the rooms slope considerably which was odd, but they appeared to be solid. The owners are very pleasant and eager to be helpful. The beach is just a block and a half away and the neighborhood has a lot of character.

We rented this home for a long weekend to connect with relatives in CT. We took the ferry from LI while CT family came to spend time with us and experience some local attractions. There were 10 all together and the house had plenty of room for all. Only four in my family slept there but having the space allowed us to gather and spend family time with plenty of space. I was hoping for more yard space but the wrap around porch was awesome!!! While it was pricey, it was less expensive than the 3 hotel rooms my family would have needed and the space was priceless!!!! Thank you Jane & David!!!

The house was very clean. Jane called to check if everything was good. We even had event free tropical storm pass by. The beach was very close and kids had fun.

Our family enjoyed our stay however one full bathroom for five rooms was insufficient the bathroom and showers in basement were not convenient to access - steep stairs ,musty and dusty. This house has potential but needs update. Owners were very helpful and friendly and have indicated upgrades are forthcoming.

My multi generational family rented this house for one week. We enjoyed our stay so much that we immediately planned to rent it for 2 weeks next season. The house is spacious with a wrap around porch and has the charm of old New England that is difficult to find. I spent every summer in a very similar cottage as a child and found myself feeling at home immediately. It is equipped with everything you may need, including a washer and dryer and showers in the basement. My extended family lives in the area, so having a large dining room and kitchen was a major plus. The beaches are pristine and private. The area has back roads that are excellent for bike riding.
If you like to take day trips, there are many interesting places to visit. Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium are just a 20 minute drive. The Block Island ferry, museums, and restaurants are just a short ride in downtown New London. I can never get my fill of whole belly clams, lobster rolls, and fish & chips.
Jane and Dave are excellent hosts and always available to answer any questions.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience this very special house for your vacation.

We rented this lovely home for a week with friends and family. First, Jane and David were excellent to work with and communication was A+! The home greeted us with a nice wrap-a-round porch which we enjoyed on a regular basis. The home offers a spacious living room and updated kitchen. There was a table in the kitchen and also a large dining table in the dining room. Also, there is a convenient half bath off the kitchen. There are 5 bedrooms upstairs and a full bathroom. The guys loved that there were 2 showers in the basemenr. We loved having a full size washer/dryer in the basement as well. This home worked great to accommodate our needs. We were in the area for a festival that was held at Ocean Beach Park/Boardwalk which was very close walking distance. There are a few uneven floors, and it never stopped us from having an incredible vacation and memories to last a lifetime!

My family and I just spent a week at this lovely home, It was a multigenerational gathering, and there was room for everyone. The beds were very comfortable, the showers nice, and the location was great. The private beaches were nice and clean and close enough to walk to easily. The owners were so nice to deal , and there were lots of activities to do ( MIchael's ice cream) nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I recently rented this house for week while my friend house-hunted and we attended a wedding. We had a few other couples stay in the house as well who were guests at the wedding. It was so spacious and perfect for our size group. I loved all the seating in the living room so that everyone could hang out together. The beds were nice and the rooms had dressers that you could put your stuff in so you could really get comfortable. I loved that there were two eating areas so that you really didn't have to take turns sitting down to eat. The private beach was SO close-about a two minute walk. The house also has a wrap-around porch which is perfect for enjoying the cooler New England summer air (cooler compared to St. Louis). Overall our experience was really great. Jane and David were so nice and accommodating. I loved working with them. Neighbors seemed nice as well, which is always a plus.

I booked this location for a girls weekend. We had a big group and were totally comfortable in the house at all times. The living room is spacious and cozy. The dining room table seats large groups just fine as long as you don't mind being a little close. The private beach is great! We were there a little early in the season but it wasn't crowded or busy. The showers in the basement are very basic locker room style but totally functional. If you are looking to take cabs anywhere it is an absolute pain. The renters are beyond helpful and a pleasure to work with. This is my first rental experience and I have been beyond happy with it.
