About this villa rental
Welcome to luxury! This tropical, beachfront villa is completely remodeled with high-end finishes. The villa is located in the heart of the Grand Wyndham Rio Mar Resort on the northeastern side of Puerto Rico in the sunny Caribbean. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, main level villa sleeps 6 and is surrounded by paradise. Look out any window and the ocean, with its long sandy beaches, is just steps from your private balcony.
As owner & award-winning Minneapolis home builder, I have completely renovated & redesigned the interior of the villa with modernized beachfront décor. Renovations include new floors, cabinets, light fixtures, countertops, fresh paint, and bath accessories. The kitchen is equipped with new appliances as well as kitchenware. New air conditioning units have been installed in each room. My vision was to connect the exterior beauty of this location with the interior environment of this villa.
The villa includes access to 3 pools (lap pool, infinity pool, kids' pool) plus 2 hot tubs! The pools are just a few feet from the balcony of the villa. In fact, you can sit on your balcony and watch your children from there. The Ocean Villa pools are exclusive to our villa guests, just as the Wyndham hotel pools are exclusive to hotel registered guests. Our guests are within walking distance to the Wyndham hotel resort amenities to include several bars/restaurants, a spa, casino, several tennis courts, and two championship golf courses. NOTE: The Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Resort is a separate entity from the Ocean Villas. They reserve the right to accommodate hotel guests only. Amenities in this area are abundant! The ocean water is warm all year round so it does not matter what season you vacation in. My children love collecting seashells along the beach and jumping into the ocean waves. My wife and I love to walk on the soft sand and watch the sun rise and set each day. Walk east up the beach and as you round the corner a beautiful view of Rio Mameyes flowing from the mountains of El Yunque into the ocean awaits. This location is a screen saver view! The El Yunque Rainforest is a treasure and also one of the main reasons we love this area in Puerto Rico. It is just 10 minutes away. There you can swim or soak at the base of many waterfalls and take in the beautiful views of the ocean below. There are miles of hiking trails for kids, senior citizens, and experienced hikers. To enhance your adventure through the rain forest, stop at one of the many zip line adventure courses. Other nearby activities include: deep sea fishing, ferry boat and day trips to Vieques and Culebra Islands, bio bay tours, the local gallery and art center, and tours of Old San Juan.
Restaurants are abundant within the Wyndham Resort, all of which are within walking distance from the villas and offer a vast variety of cuisines. The Tiki Bar and Grill is within the resort and serves excellent food right on the beachfront. A couple of the pubs inside the complex serve delicious appetizers along with a wide variety of drinks. Sport lovers will appreciate the multiple TVs and lively atmosphere while watching games. Venture outside the Wyndham Resort and check out the many "mom and pop" restaurants within a 5 mile radius ranging from amazing fish and lobster at LaParilla, to sushi, barbeque and steak joints. My family and I love treating ourselves to breakfast at Board Riders in Luquillo, which is an excellent family environment. Venture 35 minutes into San Juan and you find all of the high end dining and night life you want. Walk the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan and visit as many shops as desired. There certainly are no shortages of dining and street vendors in this area.
While going out to eat is great, you can also stock your cupboards with fresh fruit and veggies from some of the local fruit stands in the area. Costco and Walmart are great stops for your bulk grocery needs.

The Villa was as advertised. It was beautiful and steps from the beach. However, it is not within walking distance to anything other than the resort. I would suggest renting a car

Everything was great, pool, private beach, clean, we stayed 7 days but by day 5 we didn’t have hot water. Which I had read in a previous review. The water was not tolerable since it was hot. They didn’t have a cooler for beach but we bought one and left it for future guest to use for the beach. Other than that I enjoyed everything!

The villa was really nice and suited our needs (parents, 2 minor kids) very well. The kitchen was well stocked, everything was in good repair and the location/view was spectacular. Thank you very much!

The condo was fantastic and exceeded all our expectations, and that is saying something having our three adult children with us. Being on the first floor, it gave us easy access to the pool that was never crowded and the beach was right there. The location was also central to many activities. We really enjoyed our stay. Our one suggestion would be to update the beach chairs provided by the owner. They are a little dated. Just a small thing for what overall was a great trip to PR.

Excellent location - walking distance to assorted pools and beautiful sandy beach. Very comfortable for a family and decent kitchen for simple meals. Clean and seemed to be remodeled fairly recently. The only disappointment was that the washing machine wasn't working.

My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed at this lovely property. It was larger than appears in the pictures, very clean and the kitchen was thoughtfully supplied. We loved the shallow kids' pool and the view was incredible. The beach was pristine and the water a stunning blue. Not crowded at all and overall just what we were hoping for.

Steps away from pools and the beach, this wonderful condo was the perfect setting for a family holiday. Host was very responsive to our questions as we prepared for the trip and check-in process was seamless.

We had the best time in this unit. Everything was just as the pictures and very comfortable. The pool and beach were amazing. It was great having a unit on the first floor and right in front of the pool. The two fancy restaurants at the Wyndham were top notch. We want to come back !

Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful condo. Everything was perfectly described. It was very quiet and at times we felt like the pools and beach were ours and ours alone! We had dinner at the Wyndham one night, which was a 5 minute walk and Ritchie's up on the hill was had the most fantastic overlook (and the food was very good too!). We rented a car, and everything we explored was an easy enough ride: Britton Tower in the rainforest, Old San Juan, Fajardo, etc... We definitely had an amazing time and would come back again!

We had an absolute blast on this trip! It was our first time in PR and we soaked up every second of it! We loved the the resort so much! My favorite part was how not crowded it was! Most nights we were the only family in the pools. Having the beach so close was just as amazing! The condo was clean and exactly what you see in the pictures. My only complaint would be that the fans in the rooms didn’t work so at times it did get a little warm but we did love having the mini splits in each room! Overall it was a super great experience and would 1000% recommend staying in this unit.

A breathtaking stay in a beautiful resort! We swam at the beach, the pool and explored the island. It was the perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary with 6 of our children ages 13-23.

The property was beautiful and clean. We had an issue with the sheets had a mildew smell, but I notified the office, and they changed them right of way. The dryer didn't work, the office gave me quarters. The only other thing is the jacuzzi never worked. It never got hot. We advise them a few times, but it was never fixed. Other than these issues, we really enjoyed the Villa and had a great time. The decor was very nice. Thank you, Norma.

We loved the location of this villa. It was easy to access the beach as well as walk down to restaurants at the Wyndham Resort. It has great security on the property as well as around the property. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. It would’ve been nice to have coffee provided for the first morning. The guest bedroom had a mildew smell and there was a dehumidifier in the room. I only mention this because my 10 year old has asthma and he had a flare up due to this. He used his rescue inhaler all week. The hot water in the guest bathroom for showers was not hot. We all used the shower in the master bathroom all week since nothing could be done about it. The breaker trips in the kitchen panel when running the living room air conditioner for long periods of time.

We have stayed in Ocean Villas units 8 times now. We love the low key vibe of the community and the beautiful grounds, pools and beaches. We visited the El Yunque National Park on an early trip since its only a mile away. On recent visits we no longer rent a car because we have little motivation to leave the pools (love the lap pool) and the beach. Our stays have spanned most months October to May and Ocean Villas is never crowded.

Family of 4 adults had a great time in this lovely condo. We had previously stayed at Wyndham resort which is next to this property and wanted to experience staying in a nearby condo. We are very glad we chose this property!! Layout is great with bedrooms on either side of living room/dining room area. Beautiful view of ocean. Very clean. Nice administrative staff made our stay great.

We spent 4 beautiful nights here for a family reunion. The landscape is perfect. We had some family staying at the hotel so walking distant to the hotel and restaurant was so convenient. The location was great for us for golf and the rainforest. We hopefully will return!

The property was nice, however, it smelled of strong mold/mildew the entire week we were there! It was so bad that I had headaches every day. I suggested to the owner that they need to do a remediation before they allow anyone to stay there.

Pool and beach area is quiet and clean.

- Cleanliness of bathrooms can be better.
- Carpet in the living room room needs a deep cleaning.
- Bedding and towels need to be replaced. They have been used and washed a lot. Some have stains and dont smell great.
- There is an unfinished/ open area below the microwave in the kitchen that needs to be closed/fixed as it ruins the look of the great kitchen.

The property was exactly as advertised. The view from the balcony is heavenly. Pools are just a few steps away. We spent a lot of time there. The fact that the Infiniti pool right outside was only 5ft deep was great so I didn't have to worry abt kids straying in to the deep end. Beach was just a few steps from the property. We had a great time!!
Only -ve if any was I hoped to leave the windows open for ocean breeze which there was plenty of but the light outside the bedroom is on all night and bothersome. Had to draw the curtains to be able to sleep. Small inconvenience compared to all that you get.

. I would have rated this place a five start if not for the master bath room ceiling water leakage .
I was going to rated much lower because frankly I have not encountered this problem before in vrbo but the property management was awesome and helpful . Plus the owner reimburse it a little for our trouble . Otherwise the location. Was great and very sunny !
