Small casitas for two with all the amenities. Nice seating area outside. Great shower and comfortable bed. Close to the freeway, but it didn't bother us. Enjoyed a full day at Moonlit Beach. Liked how convenient it was to get there from our place. Our son and daughter-in-law live in the area, so we are planning to be return guests.

This place has everything anybody would ever want in a VRBO home! The kitchen has everything you need and the bed is super comfortable! This thing that stands out the most is Eric the Vrbo! He goes out of his way to make sure you stay is so comfortable! His dog is super friendly and us every day we come back home! The beach is so close you can walk or you can take the bike for a nice little ride! Such a beautiful place and great location! You don’t want to stay anywhere else! Enjoy!

Nice stay in Encinitas. Doris and Eric were helpful and made my stay pleasant. This property is unique and Beautiful. Bravo the boxer was absolutely wonderful and he was an added bonus.

I stayed for 30 days and it felt like it went by in a week. It was located close to everything that you could need, most importantly the ocean and the unique town of Encinitas. By close, I mean walking distance! Doris and Eric were accessible and responsive making the logistics of the trip easy. Bravo, their dog, was a plus who was hard to leave, and I’m not a dog owner. All in all, a terrific stay for my peace of mind and well being!

We stayed here for 2 weeks.
The Casita was sunny - never needed lights during the day due to so many windows, yet still felt private. Well-appointed so easy to find needed utensils for cooking, towels, laundry, etc. Host was communicative and hospitable, checking on us almost every day with recommendations of places to go, to eat, and things to do. Parking was easy. The 4-year old boxer was very friendly - we're dog lovers, but if you are not this might not be for you. The hard scape is beautiful and about a 15 minute walk to Moonlight Beach.
There were a few minor issues, some of which were taken care of, some not.
We would have liked (but not a deal killer) a full length mirror, a toaster oven, and a broom. There were plenty of other cleaning supplies.
Overall, we have no problem recommending this place.

Great time. Very nice casita, clean, on dead end street, quiet, couldn't be better.

Great getaway spot in one of the best spots in North County. Eric and Bravo (Hosts) are awesome. The only bad thing about this property is the parking. Its not the hosts fault, but the neighbor. I have never met anyone so upset about a parking spot. Someone needs a hobby. Definitely will be going back to stay again.

So I stayed at the property for the whole month of August! I thought the location was great. It’s just right up the street from the beach Eric’s dog Bravo is great we visited a lot lol it was an easy check in. Eric is a really great host we got along great so all in all, I would stay there again I love the town of Encinitas And this place works just fine. It’s a real nice place. I really enjoyed myself. You can’t be going to the beach every day, so thanks again for the great stay you guys I will see you soon!

The casita was super comfortable and very easy to access. Our host was great and very friendly. They have a dog that is super sweet but as long as you ignore him he’ll just mind is own business. Location is walking distance to moonlight beach and downtown Encinitas. Would highly recommend staying here

I loved the property, the owner, his kids and dog. The property has a very nice expensive architecture and landscaping and Encinitas is awesome. The only reason this is not 5 stars for everything is the proximity to the freeway. When you are inside you could consider it white noise, but outside it is pretty noisy. I would go back though.

I did not want to rent a car for my week-long stay so this property was nicely located within walking distance to the many of the cafes, restaurants, and beaches I wanted to explore. The property has a nice kitchen and is comfortable overall, with a great private porch. Owners were responsive to texting and questions. I recommend, especially if you like to walk rather than drive.

The host was so grumpy, insulting, and unpleasant that I left after the first week of my intended month-long stay. Avoiding the host was not an alternative because he lives on the property and there were ongoing problems with his large, undisciplined dog who has free run of the property. The dog jumped up on me repeatedly when I was outside and frequently ran away when I opened the gate to take my car out. The host got angry with me when the dog got out and blamed me for the dog's misbehavior. He was unwilling to make reasonable accommodations, such as restraining the dog or putting him in the house during the few times of the day when I needed to use my car. Not being able to come and go without getting into a shouting match with host was not my idea of a relaxing stay at the beach.

Loved staying at the casita. Short walk to downtown, restaurants, grocery store and ocean. We love to walk so for us walking 1/2 mile to everything was easy. The casita has all your kitchen needs it really is well stocked. Eric who lives on the property that is separate from the casita, is very accessible and is very helpful.

The property was in the perfect location and Eric was very accommodating. The place was clean and perfect for what we needed. We will defiantly be coming back and telling our family about this place.

The Casita was beautiful, clean, well maintained and extremely welcoming and comfortable! Eric, the host, was very personable, friendly and super helpful with knowledgeable of the area and generous in every way to ensure that I had a nice stay at the casita and in Encinitas. He even brought me local produce to share! I really loved being greeted by Bravo when I would come and go as well. Thank you so much Eric, Doris and Bravo for helping make my stay so wonderful and relaxing!

Our stay at the casita was great! The owner is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome. His dog Bravo is also so friendly and loving. The casita itself was beautiful and cozy with everything you could need. We plan on trying to stay here if we make it back to Cali.

Enjoyed seven days in a pleasant casita a 10 minute walk from downtown. Eric was an excellent host. Would stay again.

The casita has a comfortable and roomy floor plan and covered deck. Good location for beach, shopping and freeway access. Eric responded promptly during the reservation process and during our stay and, although he lives on the property, respected our privacy.

I was in Encinitas for a yoga retreat and the casita was a lovely and comfortable place to come back to rest my weary body! The house has everything i could possibly need and Eric was available if I had any questions or concerns. The location is great. Close to the little town of Encinitas and close to the beach. I hope to come back here next year when I "retreat" again! Thank you for sharing your home!

Great mother in law apartment. Very loud. I-5 is REAL!!!. Bring ear plugs. I stayed here years ago. Did not remember it being this noisy. Bravo always made our day, we love dogs! Window cover on kitchen window would be nice as there is no bedroom door to close. The light from outside shine’s in your eyes while sleeping. Over all, close to town, beach etc. Great wedding and weather! Safe Property.

Loved staying in the Casita in Encinitas. It is close to everything we needed;shops, restaurants, and surf! Beach chairs and beach towels were a bonus, and Eric was super nice with checking in on us to see if we needed anything during our stay. There is construction right next door, and they start working pretty early, but that was not a huge issue as I’m an early riser, and we were on the go visiting family and all of San Diego! Will definitely stay here again when visiting San Diego!

We had a wonderful visit in Encinitas at Eric's Casita. Good location for us and the place is well equipped and clean. We were very busy and didn't get to kick back as mochas we would have liked but it was a wonderful stay. Definitely will be on the list when we come back! Thanks Eric!

Nice but noise!
There are some things to like about this property… the well appointed kitchen, the gas fireplace, the shower, the TV with every movie channel imaginable. But oh wow the noise! You are essentially right on top of the I-5 freeway. Great if you want to see firsthand how your morning commute will be, but not if you’re trying to sleep. CalTrans was doing overnight roadwork while we were there so we had the added pleasure of back-up beeping all night long, in addition to the usual freeway hum. Framing on a new home right next door is also currently underway, so there was plenty of construction noise as well. This didn’t bother us since we were up early every day for work. (And no construction on the weekends.) The casita is over the garage so every time the garage door opens or closes, it’s a bit startling and loud. Bravo the dog is harmless but does like to bark at the gate when his owner is away. Be sure to bring your ear plugs and portable speaker with Calm app!
We did enjoy some nice walks to the local park and downtown area (a little less than a mile away), and rented Ebikes for a fun ride down to Cardiff and back. The Encinitas area has plenty to offer.

We really enjoyed staying here! Clean, close to downtown and moonlight beach, private, kind and helpful owners. It's exactly what we were looking for.

Excellent host! Eric always responded quickly and kindly with any questions that I had during my month long stay. Couldn't ask for a better location or amenities at the property. There are excellent restaurants as well as a park. grocery store, the coaster train and the beach all within walking distance. The closet even has beach chairs and an umbrella for guest use. There was also a very friendly and gentle dog (Bravo) to greet me each day when I arrived home. There's a gate at the top entrance just in case you aren't used to having dogs around but I loved it....and by the reviews. most others do too.

*Property is not a "casita". It is an apartment over a garage. We knew that but took a chance. Bad idea.
*The steep, 1-1/2 flights of stairs are tough for 2 octogenarians.
*Kitchen was well equipped and appliances were new/modern.
*The neighborhood is pleasant, but the location overlooking I-5 freeway with continuous traffic din and single pane windows is unacceptable. Can't have window or doors open.
*There is no comfortable place to sit. Sectional is broken down. Two basket chairs are terrible. Only place to put on shoes and socks is kitchen chairs which could use thicker pads. Don't understand the foam pad on top of a Posturepedic mattress. Can't sit on edge of bed.
*Hot Water comes on after significant waste of water when called for, but many times does not stay on for more than few seconds.
*Fortunately weather was cool except that last day and night were summer temps. Inside was 83º all night. Fans not much help. Should be air conditioned for summer comfort.
*We were not invited to use the hot tub which shows in VRBO photos, but is at ground level near big house,
*Guests conclusion: This property should be a long term rental for a young Socal native who is used to freeway noise, who doesn't mind stairs and who could add some comfort.
I PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED THIS REVIEW ABOUT A WEEK AGO. TWO OTHER APRIL 2022 REVIEWS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED BUT NOT THIS. IS VRBO CENSORING?

Just loved this place in Encinitas! Great accommodations and a wonderful location. We cycled the area a couple of days and relaxed a couple of others. And then there is Bravo - an energetic and sweet Boxer pup. What a honey.. but a kid's gate at the bottom of the stairs might be a good idea for non dog lovers. Thanks again Eric! We'll be back!
